A League of Their Own Uniform - making a historically adequate AAGPBL tunic

how do i get this off now i got it on,but it's one thing to go down the boobs,it's something else to come back,up this,i live here now now we've gotta oh,i deserve everything i get oh,to say that i am,excited about the new league of their, own tv show is an understatement one, does not simply say that one is excited, one becomes effervescent at a new,1940s sports tv show i'm an artsy fartsy, person but i have this deep deep love, for, sports movies i don't know what it is i,just love them and this one is about, women queer women and it takes place in,the 1940s so obviously,we're making a uniform we are literally, making from scratch a rockford peaches, uniform as close to the original as i,can possibly get i'm not going to get,too much into it right now but spoilers, world war ii happened the aagpbl,all-american girls professional ball, league as it became known was formed in,1943 by wrigley of wrigley's chewing gum, wrigley's wife and his art director otis, shepherd designed the original tunics, based off of field hockey and figure, skating outfits the tunics were made of,a durable heavy cotton twill despite, what some sources may say the uniforms, were not made of wool as it was heavily, rationed this is a mock-up so i'm not, bothering with buttons,uh one two three buttons the collar is,good um there's movement in the arms, because of the construction of the back, with the gathering there all in all i,think this is actually really really, great this is a solid pattern so anyone, who wants to make their own american, girls baseball league uniform, buy this one with a couple modifications, that need to happen so for instance i,didn't cut this side out properly i cut,two sides that looked exactly like this, panel right here and when i was sewing,it together i was like is that actually, what the uniform looks like i don't know,i did a bit more research into exit, uniforms that i could find so like, here you can see i i cut both sides out, like this the pattern actually had a,line straight down to mimic, the look from the tunics in the movie, since i can't find any original tunics, that are opened because why would they,be i'm going to trust that it's not i'm,going to trust that this is the line if,the movie shows it being like this, why would they just, change the uniform, this has no bearing on how it's viewed,on screen if if they were going to,change the uniform they would change it,to like be more flattering to to boobs, they would they would change it'd be,more flattering to boobs if you want to,get people to watch a movie about sports, women, talk about their boobs what about a key, moment in the game,my uniform bursts open and uh,oops my bosoms come flying out that that, might draw a crowd right, this original pattern doesn't have a,zipper she does say that you can add one,in if you want but she doesn't give you, placement on the pattern itself so,looking at the uniforms from the museum, archives there's a zipper down the side,on this side which will make it easier, for the waistline to open up to get it,over, poofy hair shoulders boobs and then zip,it up and it's nipped in at the waist, and then and then it's just comfortable, many months later this is day,10 of coverage it is july 12th,this project has been going on for,two years and to be fair to,myself and the project,a lot of that was inactive i found out, about a league of their own in late 2020,because they were filming it and i got, very excited understand 2020 is when, they announced that they were filming it,excuse me sorry you know, during the pandemic at the beginning, beginning of the pandemic, they announced that they were filming it,and then uh i was like yes i'm going to,do this thing so i went out and i bought, the fabric, and uh,all the accoutrements,i bought the fabrics then and it started, like researching things and looking, deeper into pictures, and then, the pandemic continued, and i was able to return to film work, which definitely put a limit on the, amount of time that i could spend on the, project i no longer had just like full, days at my disposal i had no sense of,urgency um which is part of the reason, that i kept procrastinating and i was, like oh i guess i'll start this and once,i started it i was like yes,and then you know you hit a rope block, and you're like, for some reason i am terrified of,messing up the skirt i don't know i,don't know why i'm,discussed that with my therapist today,i'm terrified of messing up the skirt so,listen, you're not watching this channel because,i'm perfect,i'm far,so very very far from perfect perfect, doesn't exist in this world despite what,my inner monologue believes perfection,is a myth, and, this is not going to be perfect this is,going to be my best attempt to recreate,a rockford peaches uniform to the best,of my ability with my very limited, skills and the tools that i have at my,disposal which are the internet the seam, ripper is my best friend when i sew the, sooner we just all accept that as,the truth of things and the happier we,will all be and then uh we lost our baby,we lost our sage our little girl our, kitten our cat,and uh,that, was not a procrastination that was, grieving and i am still grieving let's,not get ourselves here but um,i'm through the, major fog of it and i have the desire to,work on things again so i have started, and throughout the last years i have, been working on the smaller aspects i,would pick them up and do a little bit,and then i would put it down but it is,july 12th and the tv show airs august,12th and i very much want this video to,at least part one of this video to,coincide with that i'm off sick with, kovid obviously which, take two,uh this week, more functioning human being still, contagious i have enough energy disposed,of in a productive way and still, work on recuperating so i'm going to,tackle the skirt,i have decided that it's going to be,a full circle skirt i'm choosing to go,with a full circle because, the, incredible women of the all-american,girls professional baseball league by,anika orok, there is one, lois youngan she says if you look at the, original uniform it's got like three, yards of material in it it's got all, kinds of extra skirt you try to bend, over and pick up a ground ball you've,got mostly skirt and no ball so three, yards of material in the skirt i think, that's it inaccurate i don't think that,it's actually three that it that would,be an enormous skirt three yards of,fabric in the skirt would just be insane, but a full circle skirt requires about, two yards which is still a significant, amount of fabric for a sports uniform i,have some basic pink cotton i'm going to,use we're going to cut that out and then,we are going to attach it to the bodice, that i already have that i already quite, like uh and then we're gonna see where,we are,uh,yeah, come along with me for this so very not, perfect journey, thanks things that we know about the, skirt it is it is quite a full skirt,if it's a if it's a circle or if it's a,three-quarter i don't know but it is a,full skirt there are no gatherings the, skirt waistline is not gathered the, bodice is gathered to the skirt the, skirt does have two what i believe are, pleats,at the front waistline if we zoom in,here you can see that there are two seam, lines that go down i want to say three,or four inches from the waist down, and that i think is to help pull in some,of the material of the skirt while still, allowing lots of movement for, running um so there's no restriction you, know what else would have given her full, leg movement,he did it,it,did it like, this,i did it i figured it out it's it's a,full skirt, look at that, look at that there is the mock-up of,my peaches,it took me two years,to finally just get past my mental block, and i did it they did it guys this is,what they all look like this is this is,exactly how the skirts looked in all the, pictures this is how they look um i,inserted the side zip let me tell you no,small feet get mock-ups so this is very, rough no buttons because, but i think this is i think this is it,and the belt loops will sit there and, there, yeah it's good it's real good the, regulations said that it the skirt, couldn't be more than six inches, above the knee, yes very good very good indeed you can, actually see that some of them hemmed it,significantly um,six inches,i do a six inch hand complete imagine,um,oh that's sure friends,i'm very happy with where i am with this, right now i think tomorrow we can, start cutting out the actual dress, cutting out all the stuff that we need,i'm very excited that we are i hope you,are too,i will see you, tomorrow,it is time it is time, still with the curve idiot and i put on,real clothes because i wanted to pretend, that i felt better and like,it's the things that we do right the the, lies we tell ourselves let's just do it,let's just do it and get it done because, why perfection is a myth let's just get, that on t-shirts dirt and skirt here we,go the most interesting difference i,found really other than the patch of,course which we'll talk about in a later, episode is the color of the tunic the, movie chose a really soft baby pink and,in reality i think judging from the, existing garments the actual color,of the original tunics for the rockford, peaches anyways was a much more vibrant, peachy pink you can see it in the areas, that would have not been exposed to the,sun quite as much so along the belt line, the back of the neck and under the arms, costumes in a movie have to tell part of,the story otherwise movies would be five, hours long i'd love to know the costume, designer's reasoning for choosing a,softer baby pink rather than going for, something that was closer to the, original,oh hey check it out no big deal just me,learning from my mistakes and you know, transferring my marks, peach tip,so it had been a hot minute since i,sewed anything so i thought maybe a,little machine maintenance, was a smart idea,um,you i,i'm gonna go put a mask on,it's just a little dusty just a little, dusty and gross you know i definitely, recommend every once in a while just, cleaning out your machine because that, was nasty, also switch out your needles regularly,if you ever find that you're having a,bit of a struggle getting through some, material when you shouldn't be it's,probably because it's time to switch out, that needle like here i'm putting a,denim needle on because i'm a smarty, pants, okay we need to cut out the interfacing, for a couple pieces one one of the, collars i need interfacing for the, neckline that, this thing i need to interface, the short, fold over and i need to interface the, longer fold over the wider fold over, those are the front facings the neck, facing and the collar, because i'm using denim i probably, didn't need to interface it's stiff, enough on its own but if you were to use, something lighter or wool you would, definitely want to interface these, pieces, finish the outside edges of the front, facing in the back facing outside edge,i guess,i swear i've made this before i mean you,saw the mock-up you know i've made this, before it's just, been two years,so i,forgot,it's fine that's why we have, instructions, and now it's time for darts oh my god,you guys never have i ever made such, beautiful darts, seriously i need everyone to look and, appreciate this because i,it was the straightest line i've ever, done in my life, look at that, freeze frame for the gorgeousness,i'm,playing a little game right now with how, much sewing can i get done before i run,out of,my thread,as you can see,we're getting there we're getting very, close to um,not having, enough i think i'm gonna get these darts, done and then maybe whatever the next, step is i might get done but then it's i,i sent out a bad signal i sent out a bad, signal to a friend who is going to go,and pick up some thread for me because, she's amazing, you know what get yourself some friends, who will pick up the most random things, for you when you are in isolation during, covet get yourself friends who will pick,up a certain thread color for you, that is true love, okay let's see how far we get shall we,oh we're getting close i'm gonna make it,i might make it,i might make it,i win,but i legit feel like we can do it,until i get until my little my hero, brings,i think uh this this may be where we,stop, thread,i actually don't think i bought a new, spool of thread when i started this, project i think i was using one that i,had already because it was the perfect, color, regardless, thank you we,did the outside fold over we did the, darts and then we did the um gathering, stitches and that is where we finished,so the next step is going to be,to um,put the two back pieces together,by pulling at the gather stitches so to,do that we're gonna pull up the bobbin, threads bring that bad boy into, alignment, all right so here is the upper back, and i have to gather this in enough to,align it with this piece something i'm,doing a little bit more differently here, that i observed on existing tunics in,the pictures is instead of gathering all,the way across like the instructions for, this pattern tell me to do i'm actually, going to gather them about to the, shoulder blades this leaves a little bit,of a flat space for the tunic number to,be visible,i apologize for the out of focusness, here uh what you're sort of about to see,is me topstitching,we're attaching the front to the back at,the shoulders normally what happens at,this point is you also attach along the, sides under the arms but the, instructions here didn't want me to do,that instead the first step to the, sleeves was actually to hem the sleeve, the pattern calls for a two inch hem on,the sleeve looking at the betsy jockham, tunic close-up you can see that it's,actually just maybe a quarter inch hem, really, the next step was to gather the sleeves, and to align them kind of like an open, face sandwich i've honestly never done, sleeves like this before it was really, interesting and kind of fun,and now that i'm happy with how that, looks i am pulling up the basting, stitches what up seam ripper, honestly after watching a bernadette, banner video on uh,the importance of ironing and proper, tailoring techniques i'm a little bit, obsessed with how much of a difference, ironing can be get real crispy as i go,over, the first seam, four layers of fabric here i think, like a champ way to go,that wasn't a seam there was there was,no reason for that, rude, you know what it's nice and clean i'm,good with it,instructions say to,sew, from, sleeve hem,to the armpit and then down the side of,the bodice,it was a really unique way of doing it,i've never come across another pattern, that had me make a sleeve like that,a plus would do again, just so that i remember we're gonna put,a little notch,a zed for zipper, zed because i'm canadian, said for super, now it's time for the caller honestly,y'all, callers mess with me big time,it always takes me several attempts to,get a collar on properly and even then i,usually just end up giving up and being, like whatever you're fine,no one's gonna be looking this closely, anyways just grade your seams and move,on,but actually this color surprisingly, knock on on wood went on really easily, and i'm top stitching to make it look, really pretty and like the originals, all right now we're getting to the, facing part we're attaching the, front facing to the neck facing to the, other front facing,it turns out that having me finish the, edges before doing this part was kind of,a genius move on the designers, part, massive thank you to designing twining, for you know, doing the thinking for me,another modification i'm going to be,making to the pattern is instead of top, stitching as they recommend uh up one, side of the facing and across the, neckline and back down i'm actually only, going to be topstitching the neckline, because if you zoom in on the betsy, jockum tunic you can see that the, topstitching actually stops, right around where the collar points are,so obviously imma do the same,so,thrilled to finally have sneak peeks at,the new league of their own because, according to the aagpbl,my bestie, according to,them the new, series has, more accurate, has more accurate they say um has more, accurate costumes uh in line with the,1945-46,season,and from what i can tell they say more, accurate they don't say what exactly is,more accurate i think the logo is more, accurate,um they have, red buttons,i'm inclined to think that the buttons, were red or they were like a ready brown, wood um so i have to find some buttons, for that they look like they're about, they're they're a good size they're,about an inch all of the exitent, tunics i can find, have buttons on them but the thing is,that um,i don't think that the women were given, new uniforms every season unless the, uniform changed dramatically anybody who, played that entire decade probably got,one or two tunics um so you would have, just been patching repairing and we see, that on,some of the museum photographs most, assuredly the buttons would have been, one of the first things to go with these, women sliding into base and running and, washing their tunics every night they, played the circuit and they played it,hard so i don't think that any tunics i,see, that are og official tunics not the, league of their own stuff i don't think, any of those tunics have the original, buttons good morning,uh,okay, today we gotta get we gotta get our our, butts in gear because the countdown is,on a league of their own airs in two, weeks two weeks yesterday yes two weeks, yesterday august 12th so,so today we have to i found buttons we,have to attach the button we have to,make the button holes attach the buttons, then once that is done then i can, baste the lower half of the garment, together and then i can do gathering, stitches and then i can sew it to the, skirt hem it and the tunic would be done, that's the big push today is finish the, tunic it's not hard i've just been, stalling, yeah,so they all have their virtues i still, can't determine what kind of buttons, they were given that the accessories are,all the complementary color to the, uniform i've decided that the buttons, were likely also a complementary color i,went with this one it's not wood but it,looks like wood which would have been an,option this one looks like, leucite and celluloid it's not but but,it passes and this one made me think of,like bakelite bakelite however you say, that did a little research and the 40s,was a time more for, lucite materials it was apparently a,pretty durable plastic, plastic manufactured by the dupont, company if you'll remember from the, nylons episode here's let's take a look,at how it looks with the material,i mean this one looks, super plasticky because it's so shiny, this one looks i think this one's too, orange i think it's too tomato red, rather than like a blueberry red which,is what the accessories all look like so,i'm gonna i'm gonna take it out also i,feel like on all the images i've seen, the buttons have a shine to them and, this one this one doesn't shine so i'm,gonna take that one out, look at this right look that's that's,that bhutong and that is,that bhutan and this one almost looks, black right but this one you can see, like you can tell it's modeled and like, you can see why i thought maybe it was, like a brown brown and beigey button, now hers look you know they honestly, look like they could be this sort of,woody button,no,i really do think that we might be,leaning more towards this one once you, factor in how it looks in black and, white it's definitely a four hole button, and it's got an outer ring i think shape, wise it,looks more like this i think that's a,more accurate shape but i think the, color is not quite right, maybe it is,oh gosh, what do i do,this part's always really nerve-wracking,to me because it's like i'm about to,make this giant hole in this almost, finished product, and, there's kind of no coming back from that,so,i mean they're measured they're the, right size, get over it get over it katie let's go,and uh you know because i like to keep, you guessing, here's the button that i chose,is it does it fit it fits through okay, great there we're going with this one,the one that nobody expected me to go,away because i eliminated it,so early i have no way of knowing what, they actually looked like except knowing, that they had four holes i feel like, from what i've seen in the pictures, this shape uh including the center ring, right there, and i think the color is probably, closest,if you guessed right, congratulations this is the one that i,went with, and we can move on to the skirt,we are sewing the sides of the skirt i,chose to make the skirt two sizes larger,to give me some space,to put the pleats in um,here's the thing i don't math well so if,anyone can explain to me,a really simple way to figure out, pleat measurements or how to insert, pleats i would truly be forever grateful,um,i,i legit was just like if i make this two, sizes larger, and then use a ruler, maybe that'll work,i have no draping no pattern making, skills i i don't know how to do that yet, that's i want to learn but i don't know, how to do that yet so probably what had,to happen, was, the front of the skirt is probably,a three-quarter skirt and the back is,probably a quarter skirt to get us a,full circle right the reason i'm saying, that that's probably what it was is,because the side seams now that i've,pleated they're no longer down the side, where they should be and that's fine um,but ideally they would be down, down the sides right here,uh instead of where they are which is,right, there now could i make an adjustment, could i change that it's not so bad, especially when it's actually up on my,hips where it should be,anyways this is what it is if i wear it,where it should be which is on my,natural waist which is right there then, they're more or less down the sides, that's good enough for me,however, this is this is the skirt so i'm going,to,baste the line to keep the pleats in,place and then i'm going to stitch down, about three maybe four inches,we're gonna go down four inches and that, will keep the skirt somewhat in place, while still being a v full skirt, how do i get this off now,i got it on,but it's one thing to go down the boobs,it's something else to come back,up this,i live here now,now we've gotta oh,i deserve everything i get oh,oh we're so close i can taste it okay so,here i chose to make the tunic numbers, out of felt existing garments have, either silk or felt backings,i couldn't tell, from the original peaches tunic what, kind of material it had been so i chose, felt, partially because felt just felt more, durable and and felt like a more likely, material for the time um but there are, examples of satin numbers on the backs,of these tunics i also went with the, number 11 because when we were younger,my sister and i when we played soccer, had the number 11 on our jerseys her, probably because it was her favorite, number and me because i wanted to be,just like her also my birthday is,october 11th so as you can see i pinned, the numbers down and they were perfectly, line and then i decided to hand baste, because i don't know i just thought that, would be fun for some reason and uh,once i was done sewing, and pulling up the hand basting um,they were crooked, you know, whatever, okay finally finally,we are putting in the basting stitches,on the bottom of the tunic and then we,are going to gather, gathering such as basting, that's the basting those are the two, gatherings all right, and uh,i fortunately know a little magic, gathered, here we go we're going through like oh,my god so many layers of fabric,we're doing okay we're doing okay not,bad for a little brother, sewing machine come on you can do it,i've got face, now,i have to insert the zipper and for that, from what i've been able to see from, exident garments it's a lapped zipper, which makes sense a lot of vintage, clothing had lap zippers and i'm,familiar with doing a lap zipper on a,lot of the gertie patterns but she has, designed them so that they are ready for,a lap zipper whereas this was designed, without putting a zipper in uh so,there's no allowance for that so i've,made an extra placket here that i'm,going to use it's the length of the, zipper opening now i have to start, pinning it and ironing and all the good, stuff let's go,if you decide that you want to use this, pattern and you want to put the zipper,in consider that she didn't design it,for a zipper so it is a little bit, spacious in sizing you may want to,consider sizing down that being said, there are stories of the ladies from the, aagpbl who say that the tunics were just, these large sac like things and the, belts were designed to make it look like, they had a waist but really the belts, were useless,so you know take from that which you, will,if i were to make this again i might, size the tunic down or tailor it in just,a little bit more um,and uh yeah, okay so i have pressed and, rolled and pressed and rolled and now,we're hemming and my first time using a,blind hem foot i don't know that it's,actually going to serve any super great, purpose for this i just wanted to try it,out because i've never used it before, okay here we go,seriously i've been sleeping on this, thing it is amazing everybody should get, themselves a blind hem foot that thing, slaps, seriously this is,that is gorgeous,i will never not use the hem foot,so,did you think you were going to see the, whole thing did you think i was actually, going to just reveal, the whole tunic to you in,just,no no no there is there is patches, there are shorts there is a belt and, there is a hat yes,i am making a hat, from scratch i know i'm insane, there's been crying and we all know that, there is no crying in baseball,so if you want to see me make these, shorts, and this hat,uh,then you're gonna need to like and, subscribe because i don't know what i'm,gonna upload that i mean i know i have a,rough idea it's gonna be soon but like,it could be tomorrow could be right now,and you might be missing it because you, didn't like and subscribe so maybe you, should,um but i'm happy to be back and thank, you so much for watching and i will, catch you,on the flip side, okay is that good, there is crying and sewing though,it happens let's uh get some dirt in the, skirt,go peaches,um

The above is a brief introduction to a league of their own costume diy

Let's move on to the first section of a league of their own costume diy

I Made a League Of Their Own Dress Out of $5 Bedsheets! | SEWING NERD!

I Made a League Of Their Own Dress Out of $5 Bedsheets! | SEWING NERD!

oh hi,this week i made a dress that has been,on my sewing bucket list for probably 15,years and it came out so good i mean, there's things i would tweak and i'm not, gonna wear it every day it's very much,in my costume closet now but dang i'm so,proud of myself this was not an easy, make and yet still less hard than i,thought it was going to be so let's jump, right into it there's a lot to cover, also if you haven't seen a league of,their own i cannot recommend that movie, enough in honor of my fellow tall girl, gina davis i had to make this dress, because i got invited to a baseball game, with the brewery that i work for they, took all the employees out and it was, such fun time i got the dress done about,20 minutes before i had to leave spoiler, alert this project was a success one of,those main reasons being you girl made a,mock-up and holy hell i'm so glad i did,not that i ended up tweaking all that, much because i did keep the bigger size, and here's what happened is the size i,bought because i was in a not great, headspace and instead of just taking my,own goddamn measurements before i,decided what size to get i just guessed, that i had gone up four sizes and i,didn't but because of the style address, this was where it overlaps in the front,it's actually for the better that it was,a bigger size but i do feel silly for, automatically in my head just thinking i,had to size up so much just read the, numbers check the finish measurements, versus the actual like pattern size, recommendations yes ease is good, especially around the waist like, shoulders and where there's gonna be a,lot of movement but in my opinion most, commercial patterns there is way too, much ease four to six inches on some of,the ones that i've used and i don't need, that much room especially for something, that's supposed to be fitted it should, fit you anyway different rants for a,different day so this was definitely a,different style dress than i've made, before i mean the circle skirt was, pretty straightforward i obviously made, sure that there were pockets but the way,it overlapped in the front the way the, bodice went together i had this little, like shoulder yoke situation and also, had shoulder darts on the back which,i've never added shoulder darts but any, extra room for movement back there is,helpful for me because i'm very broad, shouldered so often things are very, tight when i try to do this these are, also out of like much heavier weight, fabric than i used and now i understand, why there should have been a full lining, for what the outfit was for i'm still, very glad i did the lining omissions, where i saw fit because it was barely, tolerable having that on at an outdoor, baseball game in the summer time last, night so yeah i cut out all the standard, size pattern pieces i went with the size,18 on here because i got the bigger, chunk of size options where normally i'd,be like a 14. most of the construction, steps seemed pretty straightforward, again the specific type of shoulder yoke,is not something i'd done before but it,went together easily enough the diagrams, are pretty helpful this says to put the, side seam together and then insert the, sleeves i hate doing that when, there's an option to do it while it's,all open so i did do the underarm sleeve, and then like side seam seam in one go,but other than that i like mostly, followed the instructions so i tried on,the mock-up again i was just doing the, bodice because the skirt is just a,pretty standard circle skirt so i i know, that that's gonna work for me and, especially because this is overlapping,i'm not making a fitted zip in waistband,or something there was so much wiggle, room with this dress i was actually, surprised how well this fit i expected,to be drowning as far as like the back, piece and the shoulders but again very, broad shouldered broad chested so it,ended up working out the one thing that, definitely needed to get sorted out was,the boob dart on the front and that's,typically where the boobs are is on the, front i decided to do some gathering, right there instead of doing the dart, because i don't have particularly big, boobs i didn't need a ton of,three-dimensionalizing room in the front, and also having it be a dark gives it,like a single point that has to line up,all the time to like hit the apex right,or else it's gonna look super weird,we're like gathers it's just a little, bit more free form so i went with the, gathers and the way i did that is i just, unpicked the dart and unpicked the seam, where there's like a midriff piece that, the bust pieces attached to so i undid, where those connect a couple inches, either side i ended up moving the, gathers pretty far to the right, considering where the dart was just, because i had so much overlap that like, the boob points were closer to the side, seams than this size pattern needed them,to be so that was the only like real, adjustment i had to do here and to,gather it i just did two rows of the, longest stitch setting i have i had, tails on either end i picked either both, top threads or both bottom threads and i,just gathered it down until it lined up,with the other side of the seam i had to,put back together and once i stitched, that back together it seemed to do the, trick like i said i just had to like, move it over a little bit on the final, dress especially because this neckline, has like a scalloped situation happening,i thought it was going to look super, bonkers if i didn't change it to more of,a squared off neckline flap overlap, thing overflap perhaps but the way it,lined up when i tried it on i actually, liked the little curve that i gave so i,just kept the neckline as was as is it,seemed like it was gonna work out, surprisingly okay so yeah in the end, really glad i went with an oversized, size so then it was on to cutting out,the actual fashion fabric i did omit, most of the lining pieces because i was, going to outdo a baseball game it's,going to be hot as and because i,changed from a dart to a gather i've,never gathered something that had, interfacing i'm not sure how to approach, that if i make this again in a thicker, fabric that needs the interfacing and, like i want it to be more structured but, what i ended up doing was just making, facings for all of the neckline pieces, and then down to the bottom of the skirt, basically making like a giant placket, the only pieces i did fully line and, interface were the midriff pieces which,is basically where a waistband would go,on a skirt like that's where you want, the most structure to be so i did super, reinforce that and did add actual lining, pieces everything else just has, interfacing along the little edge bit, that i made for the inside call the, facing if you are unfamiliar and my,reason for not adding a lining to the, skirt other than like keeping weight and, heat off of this outfit was that i was, gonna wear a petticoat underneath so,like it was gonna block my shorts anyway, how i went about making the facings is i,took all the pieces i was gonna need a,facing for so that's the back neck the, yolks the front bits the midriff pieces, and then there was actually a skirt, interfacing piece that just copied the, overlapping edges of the skirt i traced, that outer edge of everything just onto, some like artist tracing paper that i,have i marked where the ends and, everything were so i could sew them all, together and make like one giant facing, piece and i measured in two inches, because i wanted there to be like a,little bit of width to this because it,was also going to get sewn down though, that inner edge it doesn't have to be,perfect so i softened some of the curves, and stuff because i wanted to serge that, edge as well the edge that was going to,be like hanging free on the inside the,way i like to do really finicky pieces, that need interfacing is that i cut the, interfacing to size so i took all the, patterns i just made for the facings, copy that onto interfacing i used some, woven stuff the sf-101 but any kind of,lightweight stuff would have been fine, for this i tend to just use whatever i,have to use it up because interfacing is,expensive and i don't want any of it,sitting around not getting used then i,took those and ironed them onto some, like close to an appropriate size scrap, piece of the fashion fabric i was using, and any parts i didn't have scraps for i,just kind of loosely cut around because, nothing is worse than having a very, particularly shaped especially like, these collar scalloped edges trying to,keep really flimsy floppy fabric like, this and the interfacing lined up so,that there's no edges that are like, coming off and everything's perfect i,don't have the time or patience for that,so i like to just do the interfacing to,size iron it onto the scrappy fabric, then trim the whole thing down maybe, less time efficient but less of a,headache and it should be fun making, things okay then it was time to begin, assembly breathe i started with the, gathers and the darts so there were, still darts on the back bodice piece it,wasn't until this part of the process, that i realized one of the sleeves had a,hole in it these were thrifted bed, sheets i found them for five dollars i,also got matching king size pillow cases, but i didn't end up needing those, because the king size one was enough, fabric this is like a t-length massive, ass dress and yeah had plenty of fabric, for it with the king-size sheet which is,great but just a little pro tip if you, don't have enough fabric out of a,thrifted bed sheet and there's an,accompanying fitted sheet this is if,you've thrifted a top sheet but also, like pillowcases really good for the, bodice pieces if they'll fit or even, just the pockets or something like that,so anyway instead of using the sleeve, with the hole in it i had a very clever, idea where i just cut a new sleeve, because there was plenty of fabric left, over also in addition to the boob, gathers the sleeves also get a little, bit of gathering it's called easing it,in i'll show you how cool that looks in,a second i haven't done this in a couple, years and i forgot how satisfying it is,to do sleeves this way when needed, they're not always needed so yes, gathering stitches are in place darts, are in place time to do assembly it's,just bodice bits to the yoke bits to the, back bits and the bottom of the bodice, gets attached to the midriff pieces and,the back bottom of the bodice gets, attached to its own midriff pieces then, with the sleeves normally when you do,gathering stitches you pull both threads, either on the top or bottom the same, amount so it gathers evenly across and, then you stitch between those two when, you're putting in a sleeve that has this, like cool rounded look to it you pull, the thread closest to the edge more than, the other one because you don't actually, want any puckers or gathers in place but,you do want to like cinch that in a,little bit more and it gives this really, cool rounded like cap effect is what, they do to put like suit sleeves in if,you look at like a tailored coat it has, that kind of like rounded top of the, sleeve where if you have a t-shirt it,doesn't have that same effect to it so i,just think it's the coolest that you can, mess with gathers and turn a,two-dimensional item into something that, has so much shape to it and endlessly, fascinating sewing is so cool, anyways once i did the underarm and side, seams right sides together the base of,the bodice was constructed and then it,was time to make the skirt which was a,very straightforward circle skirt again, the front pieces were overlapping so i,didn't have to be super particular about, the size you bet your ass i added, pockets to attach the skirt once it was, made i laid the top of the skirt right, sides together with the bottom of the, bodice lined up all the points then i,sandwiched the skirt between that, constructed bodice and the lining, midriff piece that had the interfacing,so i stitched that together and then, when i flipped it out so that the skirt, was actually hanging down that lining, midriff piece could get flipped up,towards the top of the bodice on the, inside i am so proud of myself for, coming up with this plan i clearly went, off book like immediately with the, pattern so i don't know what the, instructions were as far as having a,full lining like i don't know the, construction steps but this is how i,tackled it and i'm so glad i gave myself, enough days to really really sit in this, project and let it marinate and like, think through all of the steps and like, walk my brain through the whole process, because i don't always do that and, that's when i make big mistakes that, could have been avoided had i actively, let myself walk through the process so,very happy with how this ended up coming, out then i just did a lot of top, stitching in a lot of places and added, the facing because of the scallop edges, like this is the one part i do wish i,had done a different shape here just to,make this part easier but i'm so happy, with how it came out it was just such a,pain in the dick to put together this is,probably the hardest part of the entire, project but so happy with how it came, out so worth the effort and the struggle, but yeah i did tiny stitches i trimmed, down any of the curves and then notched, and trimmed where necessary on the seam, allowance there flipped it out did more, top stitching and got everything nice, and pressed out there is one pucker on,one of the corners and honestly it's not, that noticeable in the photos that i was, taking last night so i'm not worried, about it another hole that was in the, sheet that i didn't notice is in a very, obvious spot and like that is noticeable,if you're looking for it but no one was, like oh what's this whole oh did it get, torn here like no one took note of it so,i'm not gonna worry about it again it's,a costume the other thing i do to keep a,facing in place is where their shoulder, seams where the midriff and stuff was, anywhere there were stitches of the, outer pieces attached to each other i,restitched along those lines either, where the top stitching was or like, stitch in the ditch just to keep it from, flipping out because it is a big piece, and i didn't want to be with it,all night so just helping future me have,a more enjoyable experience wearing the, goddamn thing then i decided i was going,to make some bias tape with some scrap, fabric and hem the bottom that way just, trim the whole thing i did do a ton of,hand sewing because i thought it would, look a lot nicer but that also gave me a,window of opportunity to watch falcon, and the winter soldier and every time i,think of that show name i want to call,it falcore in the winter wombat because,my friends and i kept forgetting the, name of the show and kept inserting, other words that were definitely not, correct and falcor in the winter wombat, was definitely my favorite out of the, list that my friends started making when,we were just like spitballing dumb names,to call the show i did finish the show i,don't want to spoil it for anybody so,like be cool in the comments but let me,know if you saw it and liked it because,i very much enjoyed it and i am on the, sebastian stan train holy hell i will, become embarrassing immediately if i,talk about him anymore so on to the next, step i tried on the almost complete, dress and this was like the aha moment, like oh it's coming together so good and, instead of doing buttons and buttonholes,as the pattern indicates i just did, snaps because it was going to be easier, and less time consuming so i just marked,a couple spots i only ended up using, three snaps i should have used more, further up and there's also instructions,to put like hidden snaps or like hook, and eye things on the inside because i,don't have a lining it would have been, very obvious there was hardware on the, inside then, the best part okay my original plan was, just to duplicate the city of rockford, peaches with the scale logo that's right,on the center chest of the uniforms from, the movie but because the brewery i work, for is called rockingham it clicked into,my head when i got an email from my boss, telling me like hey we're probably going,to be on the jumbotron at some point so,if you want to wear some rockingham gear,we have plenty of shirts that they give,us like that would be really cool so we,can like represent our crew and i got, really stressed out because i was like,oh crap well i don't want to wear my,city of rockford peach's dress if we all, need to have like our crew gear on do i,just have a backup outfit like have one,of my work tank tops on underneath the, dress but then that'll be showing, through the dress because it's so thin, and then thankfully my brain put it,together and was like no you dumb, just make the logo say, rockingham peaches and then instead of,the scales in the middle put the little, pig logo and thus was born the, rockingham peaches logo and i'm so proud,of how it came out i just did it on my,cricut and thankfully the qriket program,if you're messing around with fonts you,can like curve the letters and stuff so,it was super easy to put this together i,just made the like target shape like the,two circles in ms paint loaded that into, the cricut added the text fused all that, together or welded it in the program cut, that out of the red and then i just, erased most of the rockingham logo which, normally looks like this and i just got,rid of all this other stuff and left the, little piggy rocky and ironed him on in,the middle i even did a test patch on,some of the scrap bias tape and a little, tiny corner of the heat transfer vinyl, because i have had it not stick to,certain fabrics and if it didn't stick i,was gonna like make a patch on some, similar color or like white fabric and, then stitch that onto the front of the, dress but thankfully it took the heat, transfer vinyl beautifully like way, better than i anticipated i didn't have,to fight with it at all and it didn't,want to come off and then she was done i,cannot believe how swirly this dress is,i mean that's the joy of circle skirts, right is the spin factor the pockets are, great i did make them bigger because i,got really big hands but it ended up,being way more comfortable than i,thought and not as sweaty as i maybe, thought i would probably shorten it for,the next time that i wear this even, though i went through all that effort to,hem that bottom but it's fine,it's just a very long dress but also it,suits it and i wore it with my saddle, oxfords and these cute little like red,and white polka dot socks that i never, wear and it just seemed like it suited, the outfit really well honestly i am,normally someone that like loves coming,up with the ideas but genuinely gets too, scared and self-conscious to actually, like commit to the bit and like wear the, thing and just own the cool thing i made, and that i'm really proud of so the fact, that i actually showed up with it i have, like gotten all dressed up for a thing, and even if i spent weeks months working,on a thing and was really proud of it,and i thought it was a clever idea and, like would be excited if i saw someone, else wearing the thing i have chickened, out and not worn the thing out because,it just it draws a lot of attention and, listen i know i post videos every week,so you would think i'm more attention, seeking than i am but i genuinely get, really scared and nervous about, intentionally seeking that out so i was, kind of afraid to walk in to the room, with this dress on but it went really, well and everyone was really excited it,was good attention and like excitement, and people being pumped about the, reference to league of their own because,it's such a beloved movie ended up,turning into like a good bonding, experience with the people i work with, and i got to show some of my skills and, creativity and like i'm really proud of,the logo idea i came up with even though,it was very last second and kind of out,of necessity but is that not the mother,of creation i'm clearly still working on,myself but there's marked progress in so,many factors both with how the sewing, project came out and the fact that i did,the thing i wore it out i didn't just, chicken out last second not not do it,because even at that brewery i have, chickened out of wearing stuff that i've,spent a chunk of time making like the, starberry dress i made last october that, was for an event there granted there's,also panda express concerns and that was,a big reason i didn't go but like i made, bert's hot dog costume for that event, too so i'm gonna make myself dress up in,that outfit this year and bring bert in,his costume this year and like just let,it happen even though,i'm nervous even thinking about it but, yeah i so appreciate that y'all have, stuck around for such a long journey and, very slow process of me building my,skills but also just being less afraid,of things i'm working on it i'm hoping,to continue to get better and humongous, thank you to everyone over on my patreon, because i,wouldn't have had this project happen if,it wasn't for y'all because it took a,lot of time to put this together i had a,lot of days in this including the,mock-up and just the planning time going, out and being able to buy yes i think i,spent seven dollars on the fabric and, then a couple bucks on the heat transfer, vinyl that stuff i wouldn't be able to,afford material and time-wise without, all of you so i can't thank you enough, for literally letting me live out a,dream i have wanted to make this dress, for so long and the fact i got to wear,it in such a fun group to a baseball, game it was an absolute gift so thank, you so much for letting me have that and, speaking of little bert him and i are, gonna go have a little snuggle session,on the couch while i edit this we will, see you back here with another video, next friday thank you so much for, hanging out, let's reel the nerdery in he's having, none of my today

I Made A League of Their Own AAGPBL Uniform

I Made A League of Their Own AAGPBL Uniform

hello everyone and welcome back to sew biased it's halloween it is one of my favorite holidays, and it is time for my halloween project i've been working on this so long and i can't wait,to show you so this year lady rebecca fashions and kira lee cosplay are doing the historical, halloween 2020 challenge which is to do a fancy dress costume that somebody in the era, that you usually wear would have worn and i did a ton of research about halloween costumes,in the 1940s and they tend to trend one of two ways nightmare fuel or cultural appropriation, not my favorite things i looked at a lot of photos from the 1940s to try to see what people, were wearing as costumes and given that there was the war going on i started to see some, people who were wearing uniforms so nurses uniforms some military uniforms and some sports, uniforms and then it occurred to me a league of their own.,(scream) If you're not familiar with the movie it is based on the real life story of the,all-american girls professional baseball league which was started in 1943 as a response to,the male baseball players who were being drafted and going off to world war II so they created,a women's baseball league that was professional for the first time ever.,And this was popularized in one of my favorite movies made in 1992 with Geena Davis and Tom,Hanks uh called A League of Their Own.,"Some of youse are gonna have to go home.,Yeah sorry about that.,Those people are jerks.,What do you mean some of us?,Do it.,(loud smack noise) Okay some of them are going home.,Hey how did you do that?,Excuse me hey hey you caught that, hello?,Now is this a flimsy pretense so that I can just make a league of their own uniform?,Yeah it really is but I don't care because I'm obsessed with the movie, I love baseball,,I'm all about women's empowerment, and also a league of their own has a really cool queer, history which I'm not going to get into today because it would be an entire video.,If you would like to see an entire video about queer history in the AAGPBL comment below.,So the original four teams of the aagpbl were the Georgia peaches, the Kenosha comets, the,Racine bells, and the South Bend blue socks.,I am really really really not a fan of pink so I didn't want to do Georgia and I couldn't,really find any yellow and also a bunch of the ladies from costume college did the Kenosha, comets as a team uniform a few years back and they looked fabulous.,So in my ridiculous obsession with blue dresses I'm going to be doing the south bend blue, socks and I also took the opportunity to do a ton of research into the extant examples, that we have surviving in museums.,The Smithsonian has some uniforms the baseball hall of fame has some uniforms and there are,a bunch in Americana uniforms all around the US.,I presume just the US.,This was a league that actually existed long past the war and there was a ton of women, who came and went who played with them and there was a wonderful documentary about a,queer couple and one of them was a member of the AAGPBL and she kept signing autographs, well into her 80s.,She kept her own baseball cards and would hand them out with autographs, so if any of,you know somebody who played with them and can hook me up or introduce me, I would die.,This project has a lot of parts there is the main uniform dress and the dress was quite, controversial at the time because female baseball players played in pants or they played in,shorts they'd never played in dresses before but it was used as a way of bolstering the, league and getting more attendance, because: sexism.,They just wanted to show off pretty girls in skirts.,Yikes.,So there's a cotton dress, there's a belt, there's satin shorts that go underneath the, dress, and then there's of course a baseball hat.,I'm making pretty much all of these and I'm gonna do it as period accurate as possible, and I tried my best to find the exact fabrics, construction style, everything that I could.,I managed to find a pattern on Etsy from a creator called designingtwining for the basic, dress.,I made a few alterations based on my research of the extant garments, but by and large I,stayed fairly faithful to the pattern and it turned out really great.,I'm a big fan of this pattern so this is going to be my halloween costume this is my contribution,to #historicalhalloween2020.,I'm so excited to show you this, I really hope you enjoy it.,(happy music),Okay all the pieces are cut out now.,I'm looking at the fabric and this is a cotton twill which is exactly the same as in the, extant garments in all the photos and records I can find and it's so heavy.,Like look at how heavy this stuff is.,So a bunch of these pieces call for interfacing like in the collar and I'm like no!,Like this is really heavy fabric.,I feel, I feel no.,No.,Fun fact if you really really hate yourself you can do a decorative top stitch and then, run out of thread three quarters of the way through.,My life.,I had to pick all that out.,Anyway, so the top stitching was not mentioned in the pattern okay you can see some of the, little threads that I need to pull out from the other one, and then sewed the shoulders,on so this is the back obviously, and then the front has the darts in the bust and then, that kind of square neckline.,So it has that diagonal line across the front and then it has the other bust piece that, goes across so it crosses over quite a lot and you have this this square neckline and, then you're going to have the buttons going down here if you guys remember.,But it looks like you have that cool angle and then three buttons down the front and, then next up is sleeves.,This one has a big hem it's a, so it has a rolled hem but it's you turn it up an inch, and press it and then you turn it up another inch so it's like two inch rolled hem which,is cool.,And then there's a tiny bit of gathering.,Rolled hems, gathering stitches, and then we are, yeah and then we're going to gather,up the tops a bit and then we are attaching the sleeves to the bodice and then sewing, along the side seam to finish everything off.,Oh god I have to set sleeves I just thought of that.,Maybe they won't be terrible.,Maybe these sleeves will be not the worst.,Sleeves are on.,The amount of gathering I had to do was essentially none and so the those sides are all done.,I did a zigzag to finish them off and some trimming so sleeves are on and then shirt,is sewn together along the side seams so that's done and then the next step is doing the finishing,on the sleeves which they want you to do after you attach the sleeves.,(ear flapping sound) Oh I'm sorry did you need attention?,Were you flapping your ears to get our attention?,Hi.,Yeah are you the cutest?,You know it.,So they want you to hem it because you have that remember that two inch turn under rolled, hem thing and they want you to sew it right close to the edge but on the extant garments, but you can see it's the hem is really really close to the edge so I'll do like a quarter, inch of that top stitching here in the dark blue.,Sleeves, well basically almost all the bodice is done now.,So I'm super impressed with the fit they got this this really square neckline that was, going on so you can see the kind of flappy thing here that's obviously going to be like, finished and opened up and all that stuff and have the buttons on it, um and the sleeves, fit nicely like I'm impressed they're pretty good.,Then yeah you can see the bust darts can you?,Yeah bust darts are here and there are bust darts on the original like so this is super, authentic so well done.,Okay next up is collar.,Collar sewn and zigzag finished.,And then we're going to turn this inside out and we're going to press the snot out of it,to try to make it all pointy and fun and then we are going to sew it on.,Guys the bodice is almost done I'm so excited!,The next part was the facing so it has this kind of under collar piece this like half, moon it's a collar piece, it looks like a collar piece.,It's collar piece-shaped and then these two facing pieces and so you sew them together,at the shoulders and then finish them it's said to press them open but I'm finishing, with zigzag so I'm not pressing them open because they're sewn shut.,And then you sew it to the edges of the bodice and then finish um all those seams and then, clip the corners because we're going to turn this inside out.,So we're going to turn this inside out and then we're going to have a mostly finished, bodice.,The one thing it does say is to do top stitching once I turn this inside out, do top stitching,on the edge here but uh I don't think I'm going to because again looking at the extant, garments, this is a different one, this is the one I'm actually duplicating, this is,the south bend team which is blue, go blue.,So you can see there is not top stitching around the front here there is on the collar,so I'm going to do it on the collar and it's really cute.,I'm not sure if you can see it here you can see a tiny little bit of the gathering stitches, around the shoulder that are still there, the patchwork; you can tell these women like, worked so you can see on this one they did a lot of patches there's this big patch here,on the underarm seam, like all the catching and throwing would have pulled at these seams, because you can see it again here but you can see the repairs that have been done around, the sleeve underneath and on the side because they were running and sliding and doing all, sorts of stuff in these uniforms so very cool.,All right so gonna turn inside out gonna press all my seams and then gonna do some topstitching,on the collar.,(cheerful music),Okay this is the bodice.,I have to do buttonholes next.,I am not looking forward to that but you can kind of see there's going to be some gathering, here at the bottom because it's a little loose and gappy right now which is fine so it'll,be pulled in a little bit.,But it has that square neckline which is so perfect oh sorry but yeah so this perfect, kind of square collar and I did do the topstitching on the collar and that turned out really nicely, and then buttonholes are next and sleeves are finished and also top stitched and then, yeah so buttons, gathering threads, gathering throughout the bottom and then skirt.,(excited) I made button holes the first time through they look so nice and they're straight, and the back is not horrible and they're buttonholes and my machine didn't eat the fabric!,So in my research I cannot seem to figure out anywhere whether or not this uniform has, pockets but I don't care because if you have the opportunity to put pockets in a garment, and you don't you are wrong so...,You know pockets are gonna happen.,Next up is the skirt: the pockets are sewn on so we have skirt panel one and skirt panel, two and we are just gonna pin them together around the pocket and down the sides and we,are gonna sew a skirt together cuz skirts are easy to sew.,Now that we have the skirt done the next step is to sew the skirt to the bodice and you, have to layer the panels, the front panels on top of each other, or if you are an absolute, idiot like me you layer them the wrong way and put the buttons on the top because I'm,stupid and now I have to pick it all out and do it again,I just did the first fitting it did not go well it looked, oh my god, it looked like, some really ill-fitting cleaning lady uniform guys it was it was tragic, it was a struggle.,"There's no crying in baseball, no crying.",So that's how much I need to take off of the bodice on each side so that's like what a,good inch so two inches so four inches total off of the bodice and then at least that much, probably a bit more can you see that?,Yeah you can see the little mark there that's how much I need to take off of the skirt like, damn.,I tried it on and I thought okay well the bodice is going to be gathered and there's,gathering in the back and there's gathering in the front so that'll take care of this,little... noooo it is a big sack.,And I could just be, because you know I always grade things by boob size and it fits in the, boobs so chest is okay everything is not hashtag story of my life.,Also it's really long, which is fair, I knew that from the pattern it's like knee length, but in real life these things were not knee length these things were well above the knee, which you know scandalous for the 40s.,"Short?!,I'm gonna have to squat in that thing!",But I'm making the little shorts, the little cutie shorts to go with it, so I don't mind, taking a good like four to six inches off of the hem.,We are finally nearing the end of the dress part but there's lots of accessories coming, and part of that is sewing these which are the belt loops so what you're doing is you,sew them, this is the side seam of the dress, and so you put them just on either side and, then do a seam at the top and the seam at the bottom.,And this is something that I've seen in the extant garments is sometimes they're sewn,at the bottom and then flipped over and sometimes they're sewn at both sides.,I've seen both, so both are okay.,So one of the little belt loops goes on just one side of the side seam and then the other, one goes on the other side then we're gonna make a belt which is a thing I've never done,so that could be great.,It's shorts time!,I also have a pair of these kind of like pajama shorts that actually fit me they're a little, big, but because I'm a big cheater I am not going to draft a pattern for these because,I don't have time for that.,So I am going to just kind of take this pattern and trace it onto the fabric.,So I've added about an inch in the middle and then about up to two inches on the sides, here so they should be about the right length.,I may end up adding a little bit more and then just a bit for the crotch here so this,is the back side and then I'm going to trace the front side and then I am going to sew, them together.,And I am going to attempt French seams.,There is a waistband with a drawstring and elastic in the back but the original shorts, just had the elastic waistband so I'm going to do a separate piece about this size so,this is probably about almost an inch probably with a seam allowance it's an inch so I'm,going to do a two inch strip for the waistband, and I'm gonna sew it in and yeah we should, have some shorts after that.,Like if you look at all the pictures of the original uniforms, with the very few exceptions,of someone like sliding you never see these shorts they were short!,And then yeah this is the front piece you can see space out for the gusset and the crotch, and here is the back piece same thing.,These were angled on the original garmentl I don't think I'm going to need that but I,left it in just because I got, I got big thighs.,That's the thing yeah.,I'm going to sew the two front pieces together then I'm going to sew the two back pieces, together down the center and then I'm going to do front to back and front to back.,French seam tutorial: so you can notice this is where I want the finished seam line to,be so I put wrong sides together normally you would do right sides together so wrong, sides together and then I'm going to turn it and sew it together at half the seam allowance, you want then turn it inside out and you're going to sew it down again at the full seam, allowance.,Here we have our seam allowance and what we're going to do is we're going to pin it again, and sew it again at past where we want the actual seam to be and we're going to encapsulate, all of that seam allowance we just sewed so we have this beautiful little fold on the, outside.,We have shorts!,I finished the crotchal, crotchal?,Seams did a French seam there too.,Look how pretty!,See this is a nice French seam and it's all encased and no fraying it's wonderful.,And then I just did a simple rolled hem on the bottom of each leg because also fraying.,The waistband, like I said I just cut out a two inch strip of the satin and I sewed,it on regular seam, and then a zigzag because doing a French seam on this would be a pain,in the butt.,And I left open a little bit at the side and I have my elastic that I'm going to run through, the waistband.,Mina, Mina I'm trying to trying to do a video here.,All right what are you doing?,I'm trying to film a video okay really?,Really?,Thank you.,And then I am going to close up that one remaining edge and yeah I think that's it and then we,move on to the belt.,Next step in the dress is the belt and in the interest of historical accuracy I definitely, did not spend seven hours on etsy to find a perfect match belt buckle... nevertheless,it arrived!,Fun story, I ordered the patches from the US three weeks or two weeks ago and they're,still not here.,I ordered this from France and it arrived today and that's like five days later so you, know go France and it actually came with two, oh there we go, okay I'm very very excited.,Yeah it was like five five bucks or something or five euros for two of them which was really, nice.,So we have the cute little silver belt buckle and the blue canvas that we're going to be,using for the belt so I waited to make the belt until I got the buckle because I wanted,to make sure it was the perfect size and I also got silver grommets to put the grommets,in the right spot but yay!,So thank you so much this is what is it Natalie from "la boite a secrets" so the box of secrets, very cool,This is the belt it has been sewed down.,Okay you can probably see it here so sewn down, flipped inside out, pressed on the back, and pressed on the front.,Now time to check the math does it fit yay?,Okay I can officially do math.,The belt in the pictures has this weird kind of turned under sewn on thingama what's it,that I'm going to replicate and so I'm going to finish that here and then just do a, just,do kind of a straight finish on the other side, I have never made a belt before so I,had to actually kind of look up the logistics.,I have to take one end and sew it over this crossbar to hold it in place and then do a,finish on this end with the grommets so it will go through but I also have to cut a hole, here for this little bar so that I can feed it through the belt and then pass it through,,turn it under, and then sew it down.,So we'll fold it under so we can have it finished, and then with a little hole to have the pokey, thing coming out, and then this is the other end.,And it looks like on the originals that I can find, they just tucked in the corners, and then just tucked in the tops and sewed it all in at the edges. and then they just, had some seam lines across holding it in place.,I'm going to trim it because it's way too long right now and then I'm going to do some, fittings and then I am going to put in a handful of grommets so that I can wear it at different, sizes, because weight loss/gain is a thing... especially in quarantine, oh boy.,Fair warning if you are making a belt, belt buckles are directional!,Because you have the curve in the little tongue thing... what is this called?!,You have a curve in this so it has to be going in the direction, so that the other end has,to be coming through this way.,otherwise it won't lay flat on the buckle.,I took an awl and I punched a hole in this so that should hopefully give me a lot less, frayed threads and then I turned the belt under and pinned it down and I'm just going,to do a straight seam across this one.,When I was looking at the originals you could actually see a seam going down the middle, here and I didn't really realize what it was, I'm like "oh that's obviously the end of the, belt".,It's here, patches are here!,Okay look, we have, what do we got, oh my goodness these look so cute, I'm so excited!,This one is the hat badge so this goes in the center front of the hat, this is the all-american,girls professional baseball league.,Seriously, girls?!,Anyway you imagine them calling the MLB the all-american BOYS baseball league?!,But still, super pretty.,This one goes on the arm of the dress and then the gigantic patch that goes center front,of the dress.,I am gonna sew these on and it's gonna look so much better.,I'm so excited!,If you need this this comes from jade fire creations on etsy look how great of a job, they do this is super pretty.,Other package just arrived it is...,it is a hat oh it's kind of dark.,That's okay, I can make that work.,Okay so I just need to attach the last patch to the center here, I will sew that on and, then we are almost done.,And we have a hat!,I'm really impressed with these patches they look so good.,South bend blue socks!,(vintage 1940s music - Bei mir bist du schoen) Well that's it for this video, I really hope, you enjoyed it.,I don't know if there will be trick-or-treaters this year, I don't know how that will work, because the plague, but I don't care and I will be wearing my halloween costume for halloween, because I love it!,If you like this video please remember to like and subscribe, please comment, please, introduce yourselves, I'd love to see who's watching the videos.,If you have any suggestions for new projects, if there's anything you want to see please, let me know, if you're working on something yourself please tell me that too, I'd love,to get to know you all.,Until then please stay happy and healthy, please take care of each other and and see,you all soon.,I don't know what I'm going to do, excuse me, in the sleeve, oh maybe don't burp okay,.So, nope I can stop saying that, I need to find another thing to say.,Why do I keep saying so?,Because I'm sewing

Rockford Peaches Halloween Costume Review | League of Their Own

Rockford Peaches Halloween Costume Review | League of Their Own

hi,so um halloween,costumes.com sent me some plus size, costumes,to try on this is quite heavy, and originally i saw myself like, sitting here and off screen somebody, would like throw the box at me and it'd,be like really funny and campy, and then i remembered that i like don't,have,hand-eye coordination splash i'm not a,sporty gay,so there's that,so halloween costumes.com sent me this, here, box i'm so delighted to receive it,i cannot even tell you and instead of,doing, one video that reviews three costumes,i'm going to review each of the costumes, separately,so that it's easier for people to find, when they're looking for reviews,on the fit gosh okay so i'm like really, excited about this, because i'm an adult who gets to play,dress-up,for youtube like how exciting is that so,first up,of course i have to review a league of,their own,i just have to this is i'm queer this is,a gay, youtube channel enough said so there's,costume numero uno, then we have a sexy little red riding, hood costume, and carmen santiago which i'm also, very stoked about and they also sent me,a few little cute props because i'm,going to do,a photo shoot for my instagram with all,of these,i'm like loving that they had to give me,a fake baseball bat,um and i like that it's like light, okay so let's get started okay, because there's lgbt history, involved in this halloween costume i,just like, needed to come in and give you some fun, facts so this movie, boop was uh it came out in 1992,and it's about the rockford peaches and,all women's,baseball team that's formed because all,the men are fighting in world war,ii it's the get this a-a-g-p,all-american girls professional baseball, league, and what was super interesting about, this league is that you had to like, look pretty and like girls were fired, women were fired because they cut their, hair too short netflix documentary, put out where two of the people who were,in this league that, helped to inspire the og movie donahue, and, henshall i think i'm saying that, correctly they were together for like 65,years,this halloween costume goes up to a 7 x,and i got it in what size,a 3x i got in a 3x and my measurements, are going to be in the description,um and i'm also going to share a bunch,of like super fun historical, links in the description let's just, review the features, sorry i'm really excited okay so first,of all, what really sold me on this while i was, already sold obviously, was the belt,so this is like a red super cute, leather belt that i'm sure you're gonna, see, popping up on my instagram in,other aspects of my,outfit planning and say other aspects of,my life that didn't make any sense, but basically the idea here is versatile,we love things that we can use,for halloween and for costumes, now as i'm pulling this out i'm a little, concerned, like well this yes it does fit, super great love it,need it i feel like i'm flagging cute, girls already, okay so there's that, and um if you don't like the kinks and,the belt, just wear it around your house for a,while it's like breaking in shoes it's,just been all folded up,in a package okay so next,up we have a baseball hat, which is as we all know very gay, thing that i'm worried about is i have a,big head literally and metaphorically,oh it fits we're good oh my gosh look, how cute i,am oh my gosh so sporty,i was clearly a theater kid in high, school,i was not an athlete although i was a,big, fan of like the women's soccer games and, basketball games, for the record okay then we also have, cute socksies love that they're gonna, like,go super high stretchy love that, nobody likes socks that are gonna like, cut off their circulation,so that's great and then, the piece de resistance um,we have our cute little outfit okay so,i'm gonna come closer,to you i'm also gonna put my hat on,backwards,be sporty and have a 90s reference, because this movie was made in the 90s,okay,so we have,a patch on the left side because it is,the americans, girl baseball alphabet soup league, boop love that for us we've got these, super cute big buttons, which is fun and the material is like a,like a lineny canvas this is like, canvas you could starch this you could, iron this then we have, this patch a leak of their own so cute, officially licensed, then so we're here and the belt's gonna,go,here are their pockets,no because there is a side, zipper to make it easier to get in,honestly i'm probably just gonna put it,over my head, okay i'm gonna get changed brb, okay so i thought it would be fun if i,like showed you what's happening,as i'm getting dressed so i didn't need,to use the side zip,to get in this and my measurements again, are in,the comments excuse me they're in the, description, below and i'm still like pretty, roomy i think there's like a good three, inches three four inches around my waist, that i could do and then i just want to,show you what this looks like, when you're getting dressed,so it's like this, thing there,i wasn't sure when i saw this if like, the under part like this side, went over all the way and then this, folded on top but it stops,here-ish and then it buttons so that's,cool, love me some logo situation, there you could pop your collar and, look weird that looks weird don't do,that um,belt where'd my dog go okay,so,okay we're here we're queer we're ready,to play some baseball, okay cool great so cute, centering the belt buckle, fabulous love that, gonna be sporty again, okay so i zoomed out,the camera so we could laugh,as i put on socks so these are super, long,uh if you are a long-legged,babe you will appreciate that if you,are known like myself, maybe you won't appreciate it as much,it's like putting on,fish nuts but stretch knit, and these are pretty stretchy right like, they're gonna fit some bigger caps and,i'm such a nerd, for fit that i'm even gonna put my,calf measurement in the description, along with, like how big of a calf i think that they, these would fit up to,and if you do decide that you need to,live your, best plus size or not plus size, life after watching this review please,be a dear and use my affiliate link,in the description as i earn like i,don't know,a dollar ish i earned a percentage, but i can't remember off the top of my,head and that enables me to create, more reviews and more content oh,okay, cute you know what i just wondered, though what shoes,oh so the person in the image is,actually wearing baseball cleats, that's not happening but i do have a,pair of black nikes that will just do,very nicely, adult baseball bat,is what this says adult i guess that, makes sense right,if you're getting a fake baseball bat,for a kid smaller, here we go so fun fact right about me um,my mom was very into softball when she,was growing up my parents are very, sporty people, and they continuously tried to get me to,be sporty, however i'm not sporty and,uh i had a few concussions broken, fingers,a little sprained fingers i guess not, broken anyways i did not have a good, time, trying to play softball as a kid and, then i finally won and they put me,in theater camp okay, can you see my feet no you can't,can you see them now, boop,i'm also wearing like bike shorts, underneath this because i don't feel, like, flashing the internet this is a family, friendly show i think i might, tighten this by one and then, maybe like that okay, perfect there we go,you

Make Your Own Predator Costume - DIY Costume Squad

(Voiceover): Dustin McLean,,Claire Max,,and Benjamin Martin,,experts in the world of cosplay and D.I.Y.,,masters of duct tape, cardboard, and hot glue.,Together, they are the D.I.Y. Costume Squad.,- Yo, I'm Benjamin, welcome to Costume Squad.,I have a bunch of cardboard and some miscellaneous, household stuff I got because today,I'm going to be making the Predator costume, from the original 1987 classic.,It's one of my favorite movies,,and I can't wait to tackle this costume,,so let's get the the choppa!,Okay, so the first thing I noticed,is that there are a lot of specific shapes,,which I'm going to probably use end up using cardboard.,I'm going to spray paint the clothes for the base,,and then the helmet will probably be,some foam element, some cardboard, so let's see what I got.,I went shopping, got a bunch of different things,,different options, I have this tan shirt.,I have some tan leggings, and leggings are always good, because they are very form fitting.,These are super cheap, I got these for four bucks.,I got some gloves.,Now all of the tan parts I think are going to be his skin,,and then he does have some fingerless gloves,,which are going to be these brown ones.,He has this fishnet material all over his body.,I found some.,This is brown, but I'm going to spray paint it black.,I have a little fancy purse here, which I am going to spray paint brown, because he does have a brown bag.,This looks exactly like the right shape.,The first thing I have to do is,,I have to spray paint all of these underclothes elements.,I have a few different colors of browns and mossy greens.,I'm going to be creating the reptilian alien skin he has.,This black was 99 cents.,That's why I have a fence.,He has this neck piece which looks like a rubbery material.,I have this black burlap sack.,It has a rugged texture to it, looks pretty cool.,I'm basically just cutting a scarf out of this material.,He has brown fingerless gloves,,so all you got to do is cut the fingers off these ones.,For the loincloth I'm going to be using, this bathrobe shirt thing I got for four bucks at Goodwill.,I'm just going to cut up the shapes,,then I'm going to attach it to a belt,I got at the 99 cent store.,I'm cutting this rough so it looks,a little more rugged on the edges.,This is very like an elementary school Thanksgiving play.,Alright, so this is the front piece.,I'm going to do the back piece, aka the butt.,Woo!,For the belt buckle I am using a piece of cardboard,,maybe some aluminum foil tape.,This is pretty shiny, so I'm going to hit this, with some black spray paint,,and the details are going to be put on with black tape.,Belt is done, time to move on to the sandles,,which I found at Goodwill for three bucks.,They have this pebbly design which I'm going to cover up,with cardboard and some aluminium foil tape.,The gloves that I painted are dry,,and I'm going to add the fingernails, which are going to be the handles of black plasticware.,Just cutting those off and gluing them right to the fingers.,There we go, yeah.,(cackling),For the body armor I'm going to be using cardboard, and some plastic containers.,I'm going to start with the shoulders.,A lot of this armor I'm going to make out of cardboard, because the shapes are so specific, that it's easier to just cut them, out of raw pieces of cardboard.,Batman.,I have the left shoulder finished up, and it's unique.,The shoulder is a little more simple.,Now I'm going to do the chest piece, which starts in the front, and then goes all the way around to the back,so everything is going to attach to that.,I actually have these knight pieces.,These are from the 99 cent store.,For the chest piece I'm going to make each section out of,cardboard and then glue those right to the chest piece.,I'm going to add in the details using washers, tape,,maybe some clothespins, toothpicks,,whatever happens to look good.,There's a box on his shoulder, the gun sticks out.,I'm going to use this packaging thing from a hard drive.,There's a cylinder or something on his back,,so I'm going to do it in pieces.,I'm going to do the gun, and I have a bunch of random stuff.,I got all of this at the 99 cent store.,I've got a toy tank I might use, and then a jump rope,,a garden hose nozzle set, and a bike mirror.,There we go.,Yeah, there we go.,Just piecing this together.,There, that's what I want.,That's it for the gun.,It looks kind of like a bird or something right now,,but he's going to get painted up.,I have all this extra stuff.,I'm just going to glue it to the backpack,to give it some more detail,,because I have it and might as well use it, right?,The pack is all ready to go, the gun is finished up.,It's time to move on to the gauntlets,,and I'm going to be using megaphones.,I got these at the 99 cent store.,This is my box of guns,,and I know I have some toy walkie-talkies in here.,That would be perfect.,For the blades I have a craft foam.,This is a little bit thicker, and I'm just going to cut,the blades out of this material and spray paint it silver.,All this stuff is ready for paint,,so now I'm going to move on to the crotch piece.,Actually I don't know what this piece is called.,The jock strap?,Predator protector?,(laughs) I don't know.,- Okay, let's see it.,- Alright.,Woo!,Moving on to the thighs.,Those are going to be cardboard panels,,sort of a scale shape on each side.,Moving on to the shin pieces,,I'm going to do these a little differently, with some plastic containers.,I actually have a football bowl.,That's going to be pretty cool for the back of the leg,,and then some cardboard details.,Okay, all my body pieces are done,,but I'm going to hold off on painting these.,I'm going to do the helmet first, and then paint everything at the same time.,I have this bike helmet,,I think I got it for two or three bucks at Goodwill.,Oh, it's so comfy too.,As well as this serving platter that might be,a good treatment for the head.,The top of the head has a really specific shape to it.,Alright, it's done!,To fill in the front piece,I'm going to be using some of this foam.,This is a knee pad that I got from the 99 cent store.,Now I have my skeletal structure on this base,,and I'm going to be wrapping it with craft foam.,These are the thin sheets,,and they are 89 cents apiece.,Super Shredder!,Alright, the helmet is all done.,This stuff is all going to get covered,so we don't have to worry about it,,but everything is ready for paint.,First I want to cover everything with a grey primer.,This was about four bucks.,I'm going to be covering it all with a metallic silver.,A little more expensive, I think this was like six bucks.,Now I'm doing a layer of silver.,Now for the black layer,,I'm going to do a layer of black,,then I'm going to take just a plastic bag, dab it in,,texturize it, and it really looks like brushed steel.,It's pretty rad.,Alright, this guy is ready to go, almost.,We gotta do the hair.,This will not be Predator without the iconic dreads,,so to make those I'm going to be using some bungee rope, and some electrical tape, it's very stretchy and malleable,,and then some gold duct tape.,To make these dreads thicker,I'm quadrupling the rope together,,and then I'm going to wrap them entirely, with electrical tape,,and then the gold details are the gold duct tape.,Alright, here is a finished dread,,and it looks like I'm going to need a whole bunch,of these things so I gotta get to work.,Okay, all the dreads are done,,my hands are a little sore, it was a lot of them,,but I think we're ready to put it on.,Before I do that, I want to add the laser scope.,I'm going to use a little flashlight,I got from the 99 cent store,,cover up the flashlight with a red notebook divider,,and using black tape I'm going to cut out three little holes, and when I put it all on the end of the flashlight,it's going to create those three little lasers that he has.,Pew pew pew!,This is velcro pieces.,I'm going to be putting this on the flashlight,so that I can take it on and off to replace the batteries.,For a starting place,,I know he has dreads all along this top plate,,so I'm going to start there using hot glue and some tape,,and I'm going to fill in the whole back of the helmet.,Alright, I think this guy is looking pretty sweet.,The only thing left I forgot is the eyes.,To do that, I'm going to use a mesh material, that I got off of a jersey shirt.,There are certain elements I had to hold off on,until I got to this point, like there's some belt detail,on the chest piece that I had to wait, until this piece was all made and spray painted,,and I just got these at the 99 cent store.,Okay, everything is done,,and now it's time to assemble the whole costume.,Okay, I've got the base shirt and pants on.,They're very tight, and I feel very vulnerable,,exposed right now, but I gotta put this mesh material on,and zip tie it to the actual shirt.,Oh zip ties, the greatest thing ever.,You know, I had an art teacher, that used to wear socks with sandals.,I used to make fun of her.,Wow, this thing got heavy!,Yeah, that is it man, that's Predator.,That is it for the Predator costume.,I am so stoked to show this to the rest of the squad.,- Alright, are we ready to check out Ben's Predator costume?,- I am very excited to see this.,I think he's coming right now.,Woah, alright! - Wow!,- This is so awesome.,This is the most elaborate costume we've had so far.,- It's very intimidating, I was surprised.,- It is!,I appreciate that this is a toy car here on the arm.,- Woah, woah!,Oh wait, it's foam, it's foam.,It's actually super comfortable.,I feel like I could actually do,a lot of stuff in this costume.,- Like go work out?,- Yeah.,- I don't know, who has a more fierce manicure?,(laughing),- Yeah, that is epic.,So how much did this end up costing?,- Roughly about 35 to 40 bucks.,I had a lot of the materials,,so it kind of offset the price a little bit,,and then the cardboard of course I got for free.,Free cardboard, which is great.,Thanks for watching.,Make sure to subscribe to Mashable, for more episodes of Costume Squad.,We've got Dustin coming up next.,- That's right.,- Make sure to let us know in the comments, what costumes you want to see the Costume Squad tackle.,Alright guys, let's get to the choppa!

Make Your Own Harley Quinn Costume - DIY Costume Squad

Make Your Own Harley Quinn Costume - DIY Costume Squad

Dustin McLean Claire max and Benjamin,Martin experts in the world of cosplay, and DIY masters of duct tape cardboard, and hot glue together they are the DIY,costume squad hey guys it's Claire, welcome back to another exciting episode,of DIY costume squad today we are going,to tackle a much requested costume and, that is Harley Quinn from the Suicide,Squad movie super exciting we're going,to use stuff I found at the strip store, and we're going to do it without, spending a whole lot of money let's get, started all right so this is the costume,I'm going to be making it is the Suicide,Squad movie version a little bit, different from her comic book outfit but, this one consists of a pair of little, sparkly blue and red booty shorts she's,got a sort of Raglan baseball type top, some fishnet tights and then she's also, got a pair of crazy insane boots and, don't look comfortable at all so I'm,gonna start with the shorts and for, those I'm going to use two pairs of,sequin booty shorts that I got online, for $10 a piece so I'm going to cut both,of these pairs in half and I'm gonna, stick them together with my trusty hot, glue and hopefully this is strong enough,to keep my pants on,alright so there are my half-and-half,shorts now I'm going to reinforce that, seam on the inside with some tape, because I really don't want these to,fall apart next I'm going to start on,the shirt for that I'm using this white,long-sleeve t-shirt that I got at the, thrift store for 495 it's a little bit,big so I'm going to have to take it in a,bit so I'm just going to make a new seam, using hot glue to make this a little bit, smaller alright that's a much better fit,I just need to cut it shorter and cut,the sleeves a little shorter,so there's my trim down shirt she has, what looks like a sort of hand-painted,red top on the shirt so I'm going to go,ahead and do that using my trusty red, spray paint this is the same floral, paint that I used for my sailor moon, boots because it does not crack are, things that stretch so her left sleeve, has a little bit of blue kind of smudged, around on it so I'm going to do that, using some acrylic paint and my cutoff, sleeve pieces as my smudging rag so the, next step is to add the text on the, shirt I'm first going to print out the, image I'm going to put it inside the, shirt and then I'm going to use that as,a stencil to trace it onto the shirt, with Sharpie you can see it just enough, through the fabric to be able to trace,it so now I'm going to go ahead and mask, off the stripes on the sleeve so that I,can spray-paint them,so the next step is just to de-stress,this dirty it up a little bit and make,it look lived in I'm literally gonna go,throw it in the dirt all right looks, appropriately dirty so the next step are,her crazy boots I got these at the third, store they were twelve dollars they're,basically the right shape so I'm going,to paint the heels red and the, platform's here black and for that I'm,going to use acrylic paint the next step,is to cut out this weird little opening,so I'm going to go ahead and cut that, out and then paint the rest of the, details, that's it for the paint for now so now,I'm going to seal up these edges with, some black tape, all right so now that those are all, taped up I'm going to fake lace them, with some shoelaces I got these at a,convenience store for $2,so there are also laces on the bottom, part of the shoes but they don't need to,be functional so I'm just cutting and, gluing some fake ones on so the last, thing these boots need are some fake, tongues and for that I'm going to use my,trusty craft foam, boom knockoff adidas the next step is to,make her choker which says puddin so I'm,going to use craft foam once again and, some metallic duct tape for the gold, letters, not bad all done with the choker so the, last accessory I'm going to make is her, belt which was given to me by Justin,he's apparently had this sitting around, knowing that one day he would need it,for something and that day has come but,I need to make a little Harlequin, diamond belt buckle for it alright so,I'm going to make her shoulder gun, holster and I'm just gonna use some, black duct tape and kind of figure it,out as I go along, all right so this gun came from Ben's,stash of guns and I'm just gonna hit it,with some white paint all right so the, outfit is almost done but there's one, last accessory that I need and Dustin is,wearing it right now we realized that, his glove is almost identical to the one, that she wears it's my sweet fingerless, glove no big deal, costume squad pro tip don't have an,accessory steal it from your camera man,all right I also picked up these fishnet, stockings for nine dollars online the, outfit is complete so it is time to try,it all on so here is the main costume,I've got my little tiny shorts on and, time to add accessories, just some jewelry that I already had, goes with the look, all right so the final step is a hair, and makeup I got this wig online it was,$32 before I put it on I'm gonna take, the time to do a full face of Harley,Quinn makeup and I'm going to show the, guys alright so I'm gonna do Harley,Quinn's makeup she's got sort of the, clown white face going on with some blue, and some pink eyeshadow cute little face, tattoos I'm gonna start with some white, cream base great thing about this makeup, she's a crazy person so it doesn't,really have to look that good so now I'm,gonna do my eyebrows for that I'm just, gonna use a light brown eyebrow pencil, since she does have brown eyebrows now,it's time for eye shadow it's gonna be,really messy and not blended and just, sort of everywhere now I'm going to put,on some false lashes just for a little, bit of extra drama this part is gonna be,really hard let's see if I can write on,my face in the mirror there you go it,only sort of looks like a five-year-old,did it so now I have the very difficult, task of giving myself an arm tattoo on,my right arm so I get to do this with my,left hand we'll see if it looks like I,was attacked by a fourth grader with, some crayons we'll see how does anyone, okay alright hey,all right so now that the makeup and all,the tattoos are done I'm going to put,the rest of the costume on and go show, the guys all right here we go time to,see Claire right finished hardly can't,wait it's gonna be awesome scary, here comes Wow yes oh my gosh this is so,awesome, the boots are killer look at those, they're pretty intense those are some, nice knockoffs the knockoff some kinda, tainted Wow,it's for gun white her name is white, yeah okay I got really lazy and only, painted half the gun because it's gonna,be in the holster but hey it's a white, gun, cool all right so how much did this end,up costing me the whole thing, not counting the change on my holster, was about $40 the wig was I think 30,that's pretty good for that way cuz, that's like the real thing right you, didn't know I didn't it came this way no,and then you thought about maybe just, like spray-painting a blonde wig - yeah, dude you could get a blonde wig that how,can I have this on line then it looks, awesome really completed the whole look, alright thanks so much for watching guys,be sure and subscribe leave us a comment, down below let us know what costumes you, want to see us tackle next,up next we have been making I am gonna,do a trooper of a storm variety hmm,not like space space battles it's a,space battle yeah yeah yeah so keep an,eye out for that thanks so much for, watching see you next time that's right, alright, yeah group high-five oh yeah oh oh oh I,think she broke my nose
