Easy Animal Costume Makeup/Hair | Leopard, Lion & Zebra

Blackwall does like wildlife,ha okay what's up guys today's video is,going to be my first Halloween video, this year yes so for today's video I,thought I would start out with something, super simple,I wanted to kickstart my Halloween, videos with something easy even though I,normally do like more simple costumes, when it gets closer to Halloween but, anyways I want to do this one first this,is perfect for those of you guys that, like to dress up for Halloween but don't,really want to spend the money to get a,costume you still want to be like, creative not just like basic Halloween, costumes this is a little bit more fun,you can make it a group costume you can, make it family costume you can do it by,yourself,it really doesn't matter so if you're,interested then just keep on watching, but stay tuned because I have a ton of,Halloween videos planned group costumes, couple costumes more individual costumes, scary costumes I'm so excited so be sure,to subscribe for all that fun and yeah, let's get into the video, okay so first I'm gonna show you guys, how to get the leopard makeup which is a,lot easier than you probably think so,starting out you're just gonna have your, face makeup on and we're going to move, right into the lids so I'm just taking,NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk which is,just a white cream eyeshadow and I'm,placing that on my lids and blending it,out with my finger this is just going to,make your eyeshadow stand out a lot, stronger which is what you want for this, look so for the eye shadow I'm just, using a bronzy coppery color and I'm,placing this all over my lids extending,it into my crease making sure it's,blended really nicely and then I'm also, gonna bring that on my lower lash line, for the eyeliner you're going to want to,do of course a cat eye eye liner so I'm,going to use a liquid eyeliner pen but,you can also use gel eyeliner you just, want to make sure that you extend it all,the way into the inner corner of your, eyes because not only are we going to do,the cat eye eye liner but we're going to,bring it inwards and extend extend it,down like you see here this is just, going to give you more of a cat-like,appearance and it's just going to make, you stand out more quick tip use a,pencil eyeliner for this inner corner, part it just gives you a lot more, control than a liquid eyeliner does,so then I curled my lashes and applied, some false lashes and then now I'm,placing a caramel colored eyeshadow on,the places where I'm going to do at the,leopard-print so on my neck on the top,of my forehead and then I'm just taking, this really handy tool that I got from,Maybelline and it's just this kind of,shimmery bronze color and I'm basically, placing spots or circles just around, where I want the print to go and you're,basically going to repeat this until,it's all finished and then I'm also, taking a sparkly gold color which is,just a little bit lighter and I'm making, slightly smaller dots in between all, those larger dots that I did now that I,have a bunch of bronze and gold dots all, over my face,to make it look more like leopard print,I'm just taking my eyeliner pen and I'm,basically just outlining those circles,as you can see I'm not doing all, outlined completely I'm doing some half, circles this is really what's going to,make it look like leopard print and as,you can see I'm not being perfect with, this at all the key is that they're,they're print isn't perfect so the spots, don't have to be either so you can, really be kind of messy with this and, once you outline it in black it's really, going to make the leopard print stand, out for the nose I'm drawing somewhat of,a heart shape on my nose not too intense, just slightly curved at the top there, and then I'm extending the lines upwards, when then blending it out with my,fingers to give it more of a natural, effect because leopards seem to have, this type of nose or this like shadow, right there and then I'm going to go,ahead and draw in the bottom half and, connect it to my lip and then fill it in,slightly not all the way and filling it,in with the NYX jumbo eye pencil in,black it just makes my life a little bit, easier and then I'm also going ahead and, filling in my top lip then for the nose,I'm going to fill it in with some bronzy, gold eyeshadow and I'm going to blend it,with my finger to give it kind of a,great in effect this just gives it more, dimension and then for my bottom lip I'm,just going to outline the outsides and, blend it in with my finger to give it,this kind of rusty pink color and after, that the makeup is complete super easy, right so for the hair I decided to slick,it back just because when I think of,love words I just think of super sleek,so I combed my hair into a low pony and, secured it and then I added some ears, which I got from Target for the rest of,the costume I just wore all black so,this part makes it super easy for you, just to dig in your own closet and,super-easy last-minute costume next up,I'm going to show you guys how to get, this super easy lion look that I think,is probably my favorite so starting out,I'm taking the NYX jumbo eye pencil in,milk and I'm placing that all over my,lids again and blending it out with my,finger but then instead of putting a,shadow over it I'm just going to take a,matte brown color and place that into my,crease lines always have the super, highlighted lid and then a more defined, crease so this is really what's going to,help you get that look then for eyeliner,is since it's a cat like the leopard, you're pretty much going to do the same, thing so winged it out and then extend,it on the inside this is really what's,going to help you give that cat-like,appearance in your eyes so I think it's,super important then with the NYX jumbo, eye pencil I'm basically going to,highlight around that inner corner part,I just think this gives a very similar, look to a lion's highlighted point to,their face if that makes sense I'm just, going off kind of cartoons if that makes, sense for makeup I hope it does, anyways mascara false lashes of course I,applied that and then for the face I'm,placing this kind of rusty reddish-brown,color on where I would normally contour, and then blending it out with a Beauty,Blender sponge between this on my face, and my hair it's really going to help, you get that appearance of like a huge, mane for the nose lines have more of a,prominent heart-shaped nose so I'm,basically recreating that with some, black eyeliner on the tip of my nose and, then I'm going to extend that down into,a slight curve and then of course, connect it to my top lip to fill in the, nose I'm using a reddish pink color and,I'm basically placing that in the center, and then blending in with the black to,give it kind of a gradient more, realistic look and then for the whiskers,I'm just taking an eyeliner and it,basically just doing little circles, little dots all over the top of my lip,and then I'm going to take the sponge, part of that eyeliner and I'm basically, just going to smudge it outwards making,it kind of look more realistic like, whiskers and then lastly for the lips, you're just going to fill them both in,completely with black eyeliner or a,black lipstick and after that you are, done with the makeup now moving on to,the hair this part is the easiest and, most, fun you basically just get to mess up,your hair girl tease it back home it,hairspray it like crazy you just want to,make this crazy wild fierce lion mane, after that throw on some lion ears if,you have them and wear anything tan and,you have a super easy lion costume and, last but not least the zebra look which,I think turned out super awesome so,you're going to start out with of course, the next jumbo eye pencil in milk and, you're basically going to trace out, wherever you want your zebra print I,decided to go for a mask type of look, but I think what look really cool is,like a half base or like a diagonal, split face basically all you're going to,do is just fill in in white wherever you, want your zebra print to be also if you, didn't notice at this point I do have my,eye makeup done so keep that in mind and, then after you get your print lined out,I'm basically just going to take my,finger and smooth out the edges to give, kind of a gradient look so it doesn't,look like such a harsh line and it'll,just end up making the zebra print look, cooler so now I'm just taking a NYX,jumbo eye pencil in black and I'm,filling in my eyebrows and then this is,where the fun part slash kind of,challenging part comes in I'm just, taking a brush and some gel eyeliner but, liquid eyeliner will work too and in,basically just creating a zebra print, now how I did this is I basically just, looked at a zebra and they're print and,I try to recreate the lines I realized, like right now I kind of look like the, girl from Black Swan um the bun is not, helping me but anyways it ends up,looking super cool you just got to keep, making lines it's kind of a trial and, error thing um but my tip for you is to,make the lines thicker in the center and, then they kind of go out at a point, that's kind of how I notice deeper, stripes are um so it's basically kind of,catering to your face however you end up,creating it will end up looking cool so,I just did that all over my face and as,you can see I also extended that down, onto my neck as well for my lips I just, filled them in with black so black, lipstick would work if you want a more, exact zebra look make a huge oval around, your nose and mouth and you'll get a,super intense, zebra look after that the makeup is done,so now moving on to the hair you're,basically going to put in three, ponytails in the center of your head go,down then with a teasing brush you're,just going to backcomb your hair a,little bit and rat it and kind of smush,it up into a little big bun on the top,of your head and pin it with bobby pins, this is where you're going to create, this kind of mohawk looking horse mane, which I think ends up looking awesome so,I'm basically just taking pins ratting, and just kind of connecting the hair as,you can see here and pinning it together,to make sure there's no spaces and I'm,doing that until all the hair is pinned,up and then you have this really cool, faux hawk looking horse mane that I,think looks so awesome and then I'm just, going to add some zebra ears from Target, and the look is done for clothing all,you have to do is wear a black-and-white,printed top I also think zebra leggings, would look super cool for this costume, but that is it for my video today really, hope you guys enjoyed it be sure to give,me a thumbs up if you did and yeah, thanks again for watching bye

The above is a brief introduction to diy animal costumes

Let's move on to the first section of diy animal costumes

Cardboard Animal Costumes

Cardboard Animal Costumes

hello,my name is franz sierra vogel i'm one of,the handmade prayed artists welcome to,our workshop,i'm going to show you how to make a,cardboard headdress, first of all i thought i'd take you for,a quick spin around the workshop, there we go back again so here are some, examples of some of the headdresses,we've done in the past,we've got as you can see here we've got, like a headband i'll show you later how,to make a basic headband, here we have a little beaver there's a,lovely polar bear here we have, hippopotamus lovely lion here we have an,owl,as well the eyes of this one is like um,part of a cake, tray ribbons bits of fabric shiny, plate dishes there from cupcakes,to make a simple headdress these are, some of the materials you will need, cardboard cereal box an old shoebox is,fine too, some staples a stapler scissors, pens and then glue you could use glue, stick, pva glue if you happen to have a glue, gun, they're really good as well for, decorating purposes you can use any, paint you've got left over, poster paint acrylics even emulsion, paint, these takeaway containers good for, mixing paint up,i'm going to show you how to make this, hedgehog headdress,so it's a simple shape decorated with, spikes, painted and it's on one of our headbands,so this is the basis of all our, headdresses that we make at herme parade, made out of cardboard measured around, the head and held together with, staples first you'll need to make a,couple of strips cut open your boxes, and you can use a ruler to draw some, straight lines, needs to be roughly four centimeters,so if your strips aren't long enough, just join them together, and staple them in place,i'm just going to show you how to fit, your, headband onto the person who'll be,wearing the mask,so this is what it looks like and it,should, fit like so it should sit on the, eyebrows, and be crisscrossed over the top to,attach your, headdress to so if you get the, strips that you've made, and again try put them on the eyebrows, and measure them round the head so it's,a snug fit, hold it in where i grab my hair, hold it in place and then with your, stapler, staple it a couple of times, there if you do it so the staples are, facing outwards then it's not gonna, catch the hair as it goes on you can cut, off,a bit of extra and that should be a,really nice, fit the next bit,you get another strip you measure it,from the front measure it while it's on,the head go,up and over the head and measure it to,the back, again you can take it off and then, staple those,in place making sure the sharp bits the, staples are sticking out,in my example i've done another one to,cross over, you can do that in the same way next we,need to make the head, shape this is what it's going to look, like,so here you can see i've bent it and, decorated it so that's what it's going,to look like,so to make this shape first of all you, need to get,a couple of pieces of paper we're just, going to glue them together to make it,big enough, and then fold the paper in half next,we're going to draw the shape,of the template make sure the fold is,going to be the center,of the head when you open it out and, start by drawing,a nice rounded shape going down, and we're just going to put two, triangles here which are going to flap, over and be joined that's going to be,the neck, just cut out your template, next get your piece of large cardboard, place your template in the center, draw around it and cut it out, next we need to make two slits near the, top,of your head if you use your template, again we can fold it in half, cut the slits and then when you open it,they'll be evenly spread out,now we need to put some marks on where,we're going to bend, the cardboard to give your head a basic, shape, you can use the back of your pen or a,pencil, just to push down on the cardboard to,make some ridges, and then that will allow the cardboard,to bend,in those places,i'm now going to soften the cardboard, just to give it some, more natural curves you can do this by,squeezing, the cardboard and bending it over, attach the ears using staples,or glue gun or you can even use,a pritt stick, that's the basic shape of the head done, next i'm going to start making some of,the spikes to turn him into a hedgehog, get your cardboard box and cut it open,we're going to cut some long triangles,to turn into the spikes,so start with a strip as long as you, want your spikes to be,and then cut zigzags to get your long, triangles out if you want shorter ones, cut a thinner strip and then you can cut, smaller triangles out,if it's easier for you use a ruler and, draw some guidelines, first they just need to be rough so,just draw some zigzag lines along your, strip, and then you can cut them out,to shape your spikes just cut a small, slit along, the length and then again squeeze the, cardboard, which softens it and it allows it to,bend and then, overlap where the slit is,and put a staple in its place, and you can see there it's got a nice, bend, and shape to it you're going to need, lots of spikes for your hedgehogs so,cut out lots out of the cardboard and,get them all prepped up,ready to be stuck on the head in one go,do different sizes to give a bit of,variation, interest, you'll need quite a few spikes so,prep up lots ready to be stuck,on i've used two different sizes, for a bit of variation now you're ready, with your basic, shape and all your spikes are ready,to be attached i'm going to start, placing the longer ones, near the back i'm going to staple these,on but you could as easily use a glue, stick, pva glue or if you've got a glue gun,you can use a glue gun,i'm just going to use a glue gun to,finish this off as it's faster but using, pva glue,or a glue stick will work just as well,ah,there we go it's really starting to look, like a hedgehog now now we just need, some eyes,so for the eyes you can use round things,to draw around, you could draw straight onto the head, there's a lid here as well you could use,or some coloured card you can draw, around that cut it out and put,fit that on after, your hedgehog is ready to start to,decorate in my example,i've painted the the head and the ears, giving a bit of light and dark shade so,use any paints that you can get hold of,emulsion poster paint, acrylics even powder paint, and get them all mixed up to a color, that you're happy with, use a couple of different brushes for, shading you can mix up some dark colors, and some lighter colors, and enjoy painting your mask, hmm, make the eyes really come alive by just, adding a little speck of white, and suddenly it looks a lot more 3d i've,just added a,small rim of a lighter color and that, makes it,look a bit more 3d,huh,here's another example i've done using a,slightly different technique,i've left the background cardboard and, then i've printed on,texture using the edge of a piece of,cardboard, for this second example i wanted to have,a different color spikes,so i found some old gold wrapping paper,on another thin piece of cardboard just, cover it completely in glue i'm using, glue stick but you can use pva as well, and stick on your decorative paper, when the glue's dried cut out your, spikes,as before and get them all prepped ready,to be stuck on your head, foreign,ah,when your headdress is finished you're,ready to attach the headband, that you prepared earlier turn your mask, over, and get your headband in position i like,to tilt, the head so it's covering the face a,little bit,and just staple on your headband to the, side, you could also try using collage to,color and texture the spikes get some, cardboard cover it completely in glue, you can use glue stick or pva glue,i've used torn up tissue paper which,i'll just place randomly, you could also try texturing here,i've used bubble wrap i've painted on,the paint in a thin layer and then, turned it upside down and printed it on,again wait until the texture is dry,and then cut out your spikes you could, also try a combination of printing, and collar using found objects dipped, into paint, and printed to give different techniques,i'm just going to show you some very, simple costume ideas that you can add,so with the hedgehog i've made i made, loads of extra gold, spikes and i'm just going to make a,simple cape,i found this black material i think it's,a blackout blind,so i've folded it in half, and then cut out a bit of the top for, around my neck, and then a nice round semicircle shape,i've got some ribbons which i'm going to,attach so i can tie it around my neck,to form a cape and then i'll use the, spikes,to decorate, hmm, you could also use a collage as a simple, technique for a costume i've got an old, long sleeve t-shirt here which i'm going,to use as a base,so i'm just going to lay it out nice and, flat i've got an old bit of cardboard, here,i'm just going to put it in between the,two layers of fabric so that any gluing, won't glue the t-shirt closed so,that's now ready to start collaging i've,been collecting lots of different, fabrics and cut them into strips, there's ribbons here there's bits of old, fabric i've cut up,some bits of hessian and there's even, some, cardboard shredded packaging that i,received in a parcel recently, that's really nicely textured that i'm,going to use,you could also try a simple printing, technique,i've got a white t-shirt here which i'm,going to do some simple printing on,i'm going to make a really simple, printing block using these sponges,i'm going to cut some spiky shapes for,my hedgehog, and then use different paint to print on,the t-shirt with,if the t-shirt is only going to be worn, once for a costume, you can use any paint we use poster, paint sometimes and just mix in a little, bit of pva glue, and then it makes it a better, consistency to print with, you can use emulsion paint acrylic paint, all sorts,so here we have the finished costume,i've got the hedgehog headdress and my,spiky cape,i hope you've enjoyed doing the workshop, and that you've been inspired, remember it doesn't have to be just a,hedgehog you can use any animals from, the british wildlife,so use your imaginations try lots of,different techniques, and have lots of fun i can't wait to see, some of your ideas, okay see you soon bye,you

Yello I'm Bellamy welcome to this video, and at that a very different type of,video because first of all I'm sitting,on the floor it has to do with sewing, and costumes but at the same time it's,kind of just random I don't usually do,this but I do something once a year with,my siblings and this once a year, occasion is making a video for my,parents anniversary celebration so for a,very long time since before I was born,my siblings started the tradition of,throwing a themed party for my mom and, dad's anniversary we'd themed the, decorations and the food and such around,a country and then a few years ago when, more of my older siblings had moved off,and had gotten married and such there, was just a few of us younger ones at,home because by the way I have nine, siblings so there's ten of us total so,that's why all that works but anyways, only one a few of us were home like six,of us five of us when five of us were, home we decided to theme the anniversary, celebration dinner thing around a,favorite TV show and then we decided to,make a video of us lip-synching the, theme song and then also a fun song that, went along with the show so it was kind,of just really random and really fun and, since then we've kept up that tradition,of still doing the celebration of,decorating a nice dinner and such for, them but we'd also include a video that, was themed around that you know in some, way or the other so for the longest time,we just lip sync it I mean we're not, great singers and none of us claimed to,be so they're not supposed to be,professional and you know all that it's,really just have fun doing it as,siblings for our parents and celebrating, their marriage this year they're,celebrating the 40th anniversary so,happy and, during mom and dad this year we're doing,Doolittle themed my mom ever since she,was a little girl she loved 1967 dr.,Doolittle and then of course the new one, came out and I know it didn't get great, reviews which is really sad to me,because we went and we loved it yeah it,was really good anyways because of both,of those things it was like yeah and we,also have a bunch of nephews and nieces,in the area last time they helped us do,this video too because it was fun to,incorporate you know and younger kids, because kids make everything happier and,fun most the time they're gonna join in,the fun and they're gonna be all the, different animals so that's where we get, into this video and why I'm doing this, video I am gonna make animal costumes, for my nephews and nieces yay and I only, have about half a day to do that so yeah, that shall be interesting we're just, gonna have some fun you know making the, costumes anyways we're doing the, originals called original by SIA which,is in the end credits of the Doolittle, movie which came out this year and no,I'm not sponsored by Doolittle movie, even though that'd be really neat if I,was but I just really like the movie and, since it's got such bad reviews I was, like why,so let's support it and also have a fun, video themed around that so let's talk a,little bit more about these things, around me because you're probably, wondering what world yeah me do though I,am gonna be Lady Rose she's a younger, girl in the movie I don't know how old, she's supposed to be but I'm gonna be,her and the reason I first thought of,this actually was in the end scene of,the movie or ending scene there's a,dress she wears and as I was watching it,was like is that my fabric yeah a weird, question be asking but the, fabric used in her dress looked so much, like my sabor bull down and that really, got me thinking like I already have a,costume for the video so that's what got,it started and that's what I'm gonna be,wearing this dress here and then for my,brother he's gonna be dr. Doolittle and, then all the kids are gonna be different, animals so let's look at that a little, bit and dive into these bags of what I,found because at first I was looking on,Amazon and stuff for to buy supplies and,I was like this is really X that's not, gonna work,so I decided to go to store shopping, which should have been my first idea, because it was a bunch cheaper and it's,also reusing material recycling and, that's always good so let's dive into, these bags of what I found that that, thrift store so first by it's kind of a,reddish fur so that's gonna be Fox this,I thought was perfect for either the, chipmunk or the squirrel I haven't,decided yet and also it's just ending, winter so a lot of these things were, partially on sale I'm not much for a,person but this is gonna be perfect for,a gorilla or b-girl it's there's a,gorilla movie and then I'm gonna cut it,apart this is perfect, for trim caller things I'm probably not, gonna cut the support so I can use it in,something else later on but it's gonna,be something I don't know yet gloves, these were I think a dollar maybe a,squirrel to top their fun and then these, hats are gonna be for me to attach, things to for my little nephew nieces, this is not for an animal costume it is,for dr. Dolittle's costume so actually,if you look at this picture here you see,his pants which are really unique and,fun and so that's what these fabrics are,for I'm gonna cut out like petal shapes, like that and sew them to the bottom of,these dress pants I know they're not, yellow but it was the next best thing, because they didn't have a nice yellow, and then also I'll probably sew on some, buttons like you see in that picture and, then this fun lovely blazer is gonna be,the best for him cut off the sleeves and, that's basically it,I'm not gonna try and finish it up,nicely I'm just gonna fairly roughly, make these because I only have a little, bit of time because we're filming, tomorrow yeah tomorrow and it's just a,funny video so it doesn't have to be,perfect right she's really not using, this side because there I don't think, there's a zebra in the movie,I'm using this nice not a third for the, polar bear this one is gonna be for the,dog the next part is there's a couple, birds in the film that I really wanted,to do because like the parrot is the, main one and there's the goose and the, ostrich so I knew I couldn't find the, feathers at a thrift store or very, probably never because I'm sure some, feathers but I knew that was very slim,so these feathers are for the parent, thought I might have not gotten enough,on Amazon so I picked some up at Hobby,Lobby right I guess I'm gonna get more, yellow hopefully that's enough I was, hoping to make we needs anyways smaller, package than I thought my feathers for,the goose and then stretch feathers for,the ostrich and again that's the one, disadvantage to online shopping is not, knowing the size even though they list, them you just kind of visualize things, differently even though you know the, size we'll see, feathers were probably the most, expensive part of this whole thing so,I'm glad I get to much and over spend, feathers are gonna go on these masks, there you have it,let's assemble all this fur and feathers, into it some costumes I'm just gonna, give a brief commentary of what I'm,doing to make these costumes I'm not, gonna do a step-by-step tutorial because, frankly that would probably take more, than an hour for this video to be,finished if that was the case,so my crazy self decided to make wings, for the birds even though I probably, didn't have any time to do so,anyways I first cut out the shape of the, wings and then I basically just attached, feathers to them in the end I'm glad I,made the wings because I think they, really added a lot to the video and the, costume in general and now the mask, probably my favorite part was doing the, masks it's something I've never done, before and it was really fun just be,creative with the laying of the feathers,to make them as realistic as possible,to finish this mask off you've got to,have a nose because goose nose you just, gotta have it so I grab some fabric and,I kind of just played around with the, design I don't even know what I ended up,doing it worked in the end and I was, happy with it,enter the easiest costume of all for the, polar bear,I literally just turned the coat inside, out removed the tag and yeah that was it,so that was really nice to finish off,the costume of the polar bear I did have,my nephew bring one of his winter hats, with him because Yoshi the polar bear is,a cold polar bear, moving on to the gorilla who is actually,a insecure gorilla I think this movie, did a great job of the different, character traits that they gave these, animals very creative anyways crazy me,decided to make a mask for the gorilla, instead of making it simple and you know, not doing that,I made a mask and I based it off of when,I found on Pinterest and yeah it was, pretty straightforward as you see in,this video it was really fun to do and,it actually didn't take me too long and,I think it turned out really cute to add, some extra acuteness to this mask, because you know gotta make a cute I,trimmed some fringe off of my vest that,I got for the gorilla and I was so lucky, that my vest had this type of fringe and,so I literally just turned it off and, then hot glued it in place and I kind of,just had a fun playing around with the, placement to make it you know more, gorilla like I decided to use this very, large and heavy coat for the squirrel, well actually I'm using the fur off the, coat for the squirrel the rest of the, coat I'm not gonna just throw it away,I'm gonna salvage some other things from,it I did feel bad cutting apart a,perfectly good coat but I guess it's,recycling right so this was actually, another pretty easy one to do I ended up,just sewing the hood back together and, that was yeah just a hat that I attached, some ears to and that was what he wore,on his head and then the body of the, coat the fur part in that body of the, coat I kind of just sewed the edges, together and it kind of became a halter, type mess, you can kind of see it here what I'm,talking about,so now let's go on to dr. Dolittle's,costumes so the blazer I basically just, cut off the sleeves and out of the, sleeves I made the collar I decided to,add a collar because again crazy me,decided to make it more hotter myself, but in the end it looks good I decided,to get a little creative and reverse the, fabric on that lower part of the collar, because you know adding a fun feature a,swell fun and here's a little message, from me who was making it very late at,night it's very late but this is the, best for Doolittle and no it's not for,me,but I can give it a try on I'm just like, leave those raw because the jackets, gonna cover it up and they'll be a,Corvette and yeah there's the best, here's where I tell you the, disappointing news that I didn't film, the process of making Doolittle's pants,I was so bummed when I realized that it,do that because they were really fun to,do and the reason for that is I decided,to join my family for a pizza and a,movie and I decided to brings a little, bit of the project with me because well, deadlines, let's move on to the dog so with any of,the vests that I purchased I didn't cut,any of them apart I decided to just make,it easy and and basically just let them, wear an oversized vest Hey look at that,I said I made something easy by not, doing something that apparently is a,major achievement for me anyways for the, dog's ears I did use the fur collar and,I kind of just folded them up like you,see and sew them in place I then just, pinned a headband to this folded up,pieces collar thing to completely finish,up the look of JIP who is the dog I got, some glasses because dr. Dolittle makes, gypsum glasses in the movie Bram, assassinating the stuffed giraffe it did, feel a little bit like skinning an,animal so even after that I actually, ended up not using this costume for the, shoot because one of my little nieces, wasn't there and it turns out he was, actually kind of small anyways but you, know it was a good idea right so now, let's make the Fox and turns out I just, used the fur to make little ears on the,Hat and then one of my sisters had a fur, tail from some other thing and she, brought that and so we just used that, for the tail but let me tell you this, fur was literally the worst to work with,I mean it was awful, now let's use these gloves to make a,chipmunk costume so I know it's not, really chipmunk colors and it's not, perfect but it was what I had and it was,for my little nephew and he was just, gonna be in it for a very little amount,of time so I didn't want to spend too, much money or time on his little costume, even though it's cute and so I just cut,the gloves apart and I made a little, tail and I just glued those two pieces, together and then I stuffed it and then,I did put a wire in it just to help keep,it in place I also attached some twill, tape to this tail so that it could tie, around his waist and then I applied a,little bit of the fur on this hat,we're getting somewhere we've only got a,couple more left and this is the ostrich,so I did use real ostrich feathers and,the mask,I was pretty easy with I just stuck a,couple in the hole of where the mask, elastic went through to keep the mask on,I just stuck some feathers in there and, glue them in place and it was really, easy and then I did try to make some, eyelashes or look make them look like, eyelashes and I kind of just used the, tips of the feather I didn't use that I,don't know it's called the quills of the, feather so I cut that off and you just, got the soft part of the feather and, here you can see I'm not quite happy, with this eyebrow so I keep adjusting it,and fiddling with it and adding more, little feather pieces to it but in the,end it looks good, for the bottom half of the ostrich I,took a piece of tulle gathered it and, then attach some twill tape to the edge, and left those strings very long so I,could just tie it around my nephew's,waist and then I basically just hot, glued the feathers along that tulle, skirt I knew I didn't have enough, feathers to really fill it in and so,that's why I decided to do the tulle and, that just gave it some volume without, having to use a bunch of feathers I did, place some black feathers at the back, just to give a little bit variety to the, skirt last but definitely not least the, parrot costume probably one of my,favorites so I did use all the feathers, that I got for it so both the light blue, the darker blue the green and the yellow, and my goal here was to basically just, match the color pattern of the parrot, that's in the movie and so I just kind,of had fun playing with that that design, and here you do see I cut the feathers, short because just the quill is very, thick down at the bottom and also I just, needed really tiny feathers,so I just layered those colors on the, mask I did end up adding a couple more, feathers not on camera and it filled out,the mask really well and now another, pair of wings I basically did this the, same way I did the goose I did this, basically the same way I did the goose, wings the main difference is of course, the feather color on one side of the, wings I did yellow feathers and the, other side of the wings I did the, multicolored pattern and so I started, with the light blue and then as you can,see I moved up to the different colors, again this was really my favorite pair,of wings and mask just because of all,the colors and the pattern that I was, able to achieve with my different, feathers the blue feathers,I got an Amazon the light blue feathers, are Hobby Lobby and the green and the, yellow are Amazon and there you have it,barreled up that's my little different, video about making animal costumes, definitely different than usual but I,had a lot of fun because of that really, they turned out a lot better than I was, thinking they were gonna turn out I had, bright ideas for what I wanted them to,turn out but usually that doesn't happen,so I was pretty happy when they actually, looked like how I wanted them to turn, out so I guess we're just about to go,film all the nephews and nieces are here, and we're gonna start putting the, costumes on if you want to see the full, costumes and all the customs together, watch the video that's linked in the, description and should pop up here, somewhere

DIY ANIMAL COSTUME for Kids | Sewing Tips for Halloween or your Dress Up Box

today we're sharing with you all the, tips you need to know to make an animal, costume as we share today how we made,Elijah this giraffe costume but before,we get to that let's see the bloopers,Oh I thought I stitched the hood, backwards I don't know my secrets, well if you're about to whine about food, you're about to get into trouble,hi crafty people and welcome back to,part two in this video series about how,I made Elijah this giraffe costume last, week I shared the cloning process of how,I took the jumper and track pants that, fit Elijah and I turned that into the, pattern of how we're going to make this, hoodie and uh track pants here that,Elijah's wearing the hoodie and the, trackies are the base of this costume, but today I'm specifically sharing the, details about how you can make it into,an animal costume if you're interested,in making a giraffe costume like this, then I will be sharing with you the, templates of how you can pattern out the, ears specifically to make ears like this, for the giraffe, and the other cones the tips that I'm,showing today will be helpful for you, even if you're not making a giraffe but,if you're making any sort of animal the, tips that I'm sharing can be adapted to,a suit any sort of animal ears or tail,or um spots or any design that you're,making for a different animal as well, and the animal doesn't have,um a tail like, food this here is Elijah Elijah do you, want to tell us a bit about this costume,so these are the two Osso kinds and, these are the two ears there's plastic, inside them to help them hold up and he,also comes uh have a,what are they called what is it stuffing, stuffing it in them and we put brown, spots on them and it's brown, felt and the yellow is yellow polar,Felice and I've got black hose black for,the Hooves and they've also got a tail, here that we made as well so the main, and the edge of the tail were made from,a suede trim that we used excellent, thanks for those details Elijah very, good,it was a lovely experience to get to sew, this with Elijah and to get to teach him,a skill that I'm really interested in,and also make something that he really, enjoyed wearing to book week and he's,really proud of too if this is your, first time on our Channel then welcome,my name is Marie and this channel is,where I share all of my sewing projects, that I make for my kids myself and our, home I do hope that you enjoy this video,as you're watching it and if you do I'd,love for you to subscribe to come back, and see some of our future videos but, with all of that being said let's get, making let's get my king yeah my mama,we started by constructing the pants so,the first step of that is to sew the, curved part of the pocket bag onto the, front of the pants and then to sew the, pocket bag closed on the bottom so that, obviously it is an enclosed pocket and, then we can sew this front of the pant, leg to the back of the pant leg sewing,it down the outside leg seam we didn't,sew it closed down the inner seam, because we want this pant leg to be flat,so we can easily sew the spots on it,before we then close over the leg, because it would be too hard to sew the, spots on once the leg is an enclosed, tube similarly with the construction of,the jumper I wanted to start the process,of making it but leave it flat enough to,sew the spots on so I attach the front, and back together at the shoulder seams, and then I sewed the sleeves into place,as well and then left it like that so,that I could put the spots on the last, step before I was ready to make the, spots was to just hem all the sides of,the front patch pocket that I was, putting on the jumper with that initial, construction out of the way we are ready,to start making the giraffe's spots and, this was a great time for me to involve,Elijah in the project Elijah was able to,draw out the wobbly lumpy shapes that we,wanted to use as the spots and then he,cut them out of the paper and I used, those paper patterns that he was, designing to cut out the spots out of,the felt that we had we made about 60,spots and then allowed to help me to,place where he wanted them on the pants, and on the jumper we put them over the, side seams that we had already created,as well just to create the illusion that, there wasn't any seam there there and, once we had placed them where we wanted, them to be I put a pin in the middle of,each of the spots to hold it in place, before I was ready to sew it,we also did the same process on the, jumper oh right on your hand so this is,the frame with the pocket I'm gonna put, three spots on the top okay and then, this is the back these are the sleeves, and then these are the hood parts and we,will need some on the hood as well, okay we might need to cut some more out,for the hood then okay you want to just,do the jump only about 10. we'll see if,we get any spares because there's a lot, here all right should we,oh we're gonna be the hot ones, you'll notice that I haven't sewn the, pocket on yet because I'll need to be,able to sew the spots on top of the, pocket before I then sew the pocket onto, the jumper itself, the spots are made out of felt so,they're not going to fray but I am going,to sew it around the outside of them, using a zigzag Stitch because I'm sewing, them onto a stretch fabric and I want, them to be able to stretch along with, the fabric underneath I have my machine, set to a medium to wide long zigzag,Stitch and I'm using a brown thread on,the top to match the spots and a yellow, thread on the bottom to match the, underneath,I did find that my machine kept skipping, stitches so I played around with some of,the settings a bit and I found that, changing to a jeans needle worked a bit, better with using this sort of thick, felt on top of polar fleece this part of,the process was by far the longest, process sewing on all of these spots, took probably just as long as the rest,of the construction of the entire, costume all put together, you'll see here in this clip I'm sewing, the spots onto the pocket and they are, overhanging over the edge of the pocket, and that's so that I can sew them onto, the jumper as well and it will sort of,seamlessly blend in so that you can't,tell that the pocket is there once I,placed the pocket back on top of the, jumper I was able to pin it down so that,I could sew using a yellow thread so the, pocket in place and then I changed back,to my brown cotton so that I could, finish the zigzag stitches around those, spots so that I could attach it to the, jumper itself, after the spots were finally all sewn on,I was able to finish the construction, process of the trekkies and the jumper,so I did this by pinning down the inner, seams on the pants and also on the, jumper going down the sleeves and the, side seams,I sewed each of these seams together, using a stretched Stitch, next I joined both of the legs to each, other by sewing around the crotch seam,at this point off camera I tried the, costume on Elijah to see how it was, fitting before moving on to making the,Tails and the details for the hood,to make the tail we're cutting out one,of these quadrilateral shapes here which,is wider at the top and thinner down the, bottom and we're going to be putting on,some very small spots on this sewing, around them in the same way that we did,for the rest of the costume and then,we're going to be putting the right, sides together of the tail and sewing, down this long Edge when we flip it out,it will create the nice tail shape that,we want and we're going to put the seam,in the back Center so that you can't see,it from the front, this suede trim here we were able to buy,it by the meter at our local craft shop,so I bought a meter of that which is,going to be used for the main and here, for the bottom of the tail so I've just, cut off maybe 15 centimeters or so and I,have rolled it up so that it will fit, within the bottom thin part of the tail, and then I'm just using a hand sewing, needle to sew through it I did need a,pretty thick needle because sewing, through this suede was quite challenging,it's quite thick but once I got the hang,of it I was able to sew it all in there, nice and securely, next I moved on to making the main so I,have the two sides of my hood right side, together and I'm putting this suede Trim,in between those two sides so that it's,pointing down onto the right side of the, fabric I'm just sewing the very front, part of this Main in together at the, moment and then taking it off so that I,can hem this front side this may seem a,weird order of operations here but the, reason I'm doing it like this is because,I need to have this front edge hemmed, and then I need to sew the hood onto the, jumper before I can sew down the rest of,the main the reason I'm doing that is,because the main is going to continue, down the back of the jumper so that it,looks like the main is continuing down, the giraffe's back and because I'm doing, that I need to make sure that it's,lining up at the neckline first before I,can continue the main so because of that,I'm hemming this front side first and, then I'm pulling my jumper out and, working out where the middle of the back,of the jumper is and I'm going to be,cutting a straight line down the back of,the jumper where the main is going to,continue then I'm going to sew the hood, onto the jumper making sure the two, edges of the hemmed part that I already, made I'm meeting at the front of the, jumper and touching each other and once, the hood is in place I am able to then, close over the rest of the hood going, all the way down making sure that the, trim is tucked inside the hood so that I,can sew it all the way down the back of,the hood and down the back of that slit,we made in the back of the jumper, here's how the jumper part of our, costume is going so far so we've got the, main here sewn into the hood and it's,going down the back and next we're going,to be making these Osso cones and ears, and I've patterned out what I want them,to look like so these are my prototypes, after a couple of attempts,um and I have my pattern pieces here if,you're looking to make a giraffe costume,as well I'll scan these into the, description box,um there'll be a link there if you do,want to download and print these but, this is the rough shape of what the, otter cone looks like you need to cut,two of them and then to make the ears, the main piece for the ear looks like, this and the overlay piece like this, goes on top and this is to create the,top fold here sort of to make it that,three-dimensional shape and then this is,a piece of plastic cut out this size, which will be slid into it to give it,that bit of extra structure so that it,doesn't flop around so I'm going to cut,out those pattern pieces and I'll show, you the construction process you'll need, two of the main earpieces and two of the, overlay pieces and we're going to start,by sewing these two pieces together, along the very top part if you're using, the pattern that I have linked down, below there'll be some notches there to,show you how to join it together once, you've sewn this top part together we're,going to be sewing these little Dart, shapes together this is what gives it,the three-dimensional shape this is what,it looks like once you have sewn all of,those parts together and we're going to,do the exact same thing on the other one, once they are both sewn in this way,we're going to put them right sides, together and sew around the edges, leaving open the short side of it so,we're just sewing along the top Edge and,the curved lower Edge leaving open the, sides so that we can turn it out the, right way,the last part of the ear is to add in,some plastic to give it some structure,we have this folder here that was, already damaged so I used that and once,I slid it into the hole that I left in,the ear I was able to close over that, hole sewing using my machine but making, sure that I don't sew through the, plastic,to make the Osso cone you either need to,cut two of the shape out or do what I,have done here which is to cut two of,them out but connected on the fold at,the bottom of the Osso cone the first, step that we're going to do is to fold, together each of the Little Triangle, cutout shapes like little dots at the,top of each of the two Osso cone pieces, and then with right sides together we're,going to sew around the top part and, down one of the sides of the Osso cones, once sewn you can turn the Osso cone out,the right way again so our stitching is,on the inside and then we're able to,stuff it and then use a hand sewing, needle to close over the hole I did find, that the ossicones I made here in this, video were a little bit tall for what I,needed so I have adapted the pattern, that I've linked down below and yours, will turn out shorter the correct height, with the ears and also cones done it was, time to attach them to the hood I did,try it on Elijah to work out where I,wanted them to be positioned and do keep,in mind that they will sag down a little, bit once you have attached them so you, want to put them a little bit higher, than what you think and then they'll,droop down slightly to sew the ear is on,I did a straight Stitch down the back of,the ear so from the front there were no,stitches shown and then I finished it,off by doing some hand sewing stitches,to cover over where the seam and the, stitching was on the back so I'm just, kind of bringing the back part of the,ear down over the top of where my Stitch, line was,I also hand sewed the Osso cone in place, just doing a bit of a slip stitch and I,did sew some spots on the hood off, camera the reason I didn't do it before, when I did the rest of the spots was, because I wasn't sure where the ear and,Osso cones would be positioned so I,wasn't sure where the right place for, those spots would be we're going to move, back to the pants now and we're going to,sew the tail on at the same time as we,do the waistband to sew the waistband,we're going to sew the short sides of,this piece of fabric here together to,make a circle and then we're going to,fold it over so the wrong side is on the, inside and we're going to slide that, waistband over the top of the pants I'm,sandwiching the tail in between where, the waistband and the pants meet and I,did decide to quickly base Stitch the, tail in place before I then sewed around, the rest of the waistband just to make, sure it stayed in place as I sewed the, waistband on as I sewed the waistband on,I left a little Gap so that I was able,to thread some elastic through the, waistband and then I closed Over the,Hole the very last thing on the pants, was to add these little cuffs at the, bottom to make it look like Hooves and,I'm going to show you the process of,that here on the wrist I did the same, thing when I did the pants I measured, around the bottom of the sleeve and I,multiplied that measurement by 0.75,because you do want the cuff to be,tighter than the rest of the sleeve then, with that measurement I did basically, the same as what I did with the, waistband I sewed the short side, together and then putting it with wrong, sides together I folded the fabric over, lengthwise and then I matched up the, edge of the sleeve with the edge of the, little cuff that I made and sewed around,it and when you flip it out it is,attached nicely with the stitching on,the inside the very last step that I did,off camera was to hem the bottom of the, jumper and DIY Sheep Costume for Halloween |Fancy Dress | Sheep Costume - Kids | World Animal Day | Mom & Ideas

let's make a sheep costume take a black, full sleeve shirt a black vest and black, leggings take loose cotton from a local, grocery store you can even use cotton, balls use a fabric glue to paste cotton, onto those fabric now if you use cotton, balls it becomes pretty easy to make and, saves a lot of time and effort however,if you have some time in hand I would, recommend using loose cotton because it,kind of gives a very authentic feel to,the entire costume now all you need to,do is spread some fabric glue onto the, vest use it on smaller sections at one,go so that it doesn't dry up by the time, you paste the cotton and paste the, cotton balls evenly across the vest, now remember not to do this project on a,sofa or a bed because the fabric glue, tends to spill over to the surface and,it can be a real mess to clean it up,it is essential to give the glue and the, cotton enough time to dry so always with, the label behind the packet of the glue,it must generally mention that let it,dry for 6 hours or 12 hours or 24 hours, please follow those instructions, properly because it makes a lot of,difference remember this vest will be,worn upon a full sleeves black T-shirt,and if it has not dried up properly it,can become a little uncomfortable, you really don't want a sticky vest, coming onto the T-shirt of your kid and,it could be a real mess if it you know, kind of touches the kids hair and all, making this sheep costume takes a little, time and effort but trust me it's,totally worth it,keep half an inch of space at the end so,that it can be worn very easily now for,the head part take a satin ribbon or a,satin belt from an old dress, wrap it around a comfortable hair band, leave four five inches of the ribbon on,one end tie a proper knot and then, secure the knot properly, similarly when you reach the other end,of the Hair Band leave equal amount of,the ear space with the ribbon, you can use an old kid's mask to form a,cap shape on which you can paste the, cotton, all you need to do is now cut the end,Loops of the Mask, and then paste this part onto the, hair band using the fabric glue now if,you have used a satin mask or a satin, ribbon around the hair Bend then kindly,do not use fabric glue to paste so I,would recommend using a cotton Ribbon or,a Cotton Belt around the, hair band if you're planning to paste it,but if you know how to sew things, together then you can very well use, satin fabric what I did was I pasted the, mask using a fabric glue onto the satin, ribbon and even after some 20-25 minutes, the mask was coming off again and again, then I had to really use a needle and, thread to put things together in place, anyway for the cap part use fabric glue, onto the cotton bit of the mask and, paste cotton on the mask, don't forget to give enough time for, things to dry up,foreign,if you're new to my channel remember to,subscribe like and press the Bell, notifications icon so that you don't,miss our upcoming videos, and the costume is ready it looks so,cute doesn't it remember to subscribe

Quick and Easy Costumes for Kids | Inexpensive & Eco-Friendly

Quick and Easy Costumes for Kids | Inexpensive & Eco-Friendly

the fashion mom I'm Rachel and today I,wanted to share with you how I do really, easy and inexpensive Halloween costumes, for my kids so my main goal with,Halloween is to not spend too much money, not to spend too much of my time on the, costume and to have a costume that will, last more than the one time youth so,that my kids will be able to use again, and again I've been making felt masks, for my kids for the past few years and I,find they fit all of those criteria, they're very quick and easy to make and,I find that they hold up really really, well we've had our oldest ones for, almost four years now in terms of,materials the only thing you need is,felt and elastic to go around the back,I use a quarter inch elastic and I just, buy the squares of craft felt at my,local fabric store they're about a,dollar a sheet and they also happen to,be made out of recycled plastic bottles, which is an added bonus, when I know what kind of costume or mask,I'm going to make I just look online and, there are so many free printables, templates for these masks so I will link, them down below I'm not going to do this, video like a tutorial because I found, that there are so many online already, and on YouTube so I will definitely link, some down below for you but yeah they're,super simple you basically just need, your paper template you trace it on to,the felt cut out two layers and then cut,out any other different colors of,embellishment you want for example on,this cat mask we cut out some white for,the ears and some gray around the, eyebrows and the nose and then you just, sew the elastic on the back I usually do,so my masks I have hand sewed them and, machine so they both work well if you do,not so you can even use a hot glue gun, felt is so easy to work with and it,holds up extremely well even with hot, glue this is the first mask I ever made,my son I think just a Hulk mask and this,is all hot glued on and it's never, fallen apart even if you don't so hot, glue is perfectly fine,in terms of time these take me about an,hour start to finish that includes, drawing out the mask,I don't own a printer so I usually just, find a design I like online and draw it,out on a piece of paper then onto the, felt and I do so mine instead of gluing,I just feel like they would probably, lasts longest if they're sewn and really,if you want to do a really simple, costume that's all you need is the mask, for example last year my daughter was 2,she wanted to be a panda so we made her, this little mask and she just wore the, mask with a white hooded sweatshirt that, she already owned and that was it done, this year she wants to be a pink cat of,course she already has a pink sweatshirt, pink pants so I just made her the mask,in the tail and then she wanted a belly, patch as well so I just I really quickly,by hand just sewed on a piece of pink, felt to cover I think you can even see,it it's a gap sweater so I just sewed, that on and as soon as Halloween's done,I'm just gonna take that off and her, sweater will be back to normal,my son's costume this year is basically, the same he really wanted to be a,Pokemon character Charizard or something,so it's like a little orange lizard we,made him the mask and I actually, thrifted him a sweater for $5 because he,doesn't own any orange at all none of us,had any orange so I found a hooded, sweatshirt for him it's two sizes too,big it works for the costume it's fine, and I also just put some felt on the, front to cover up the writing and we,made a tail for him and attached it onto, the back of the sweatshirt and done I,have in the Pascal and more complicated, and made little vests out of felt, this one was Optimus Prime a couple, years ago and it's still holding up fine,as you can see and it's just felt and, seen was last year he wanted to be a,Lego character a little Ninjago guy so,just same with that I made that I would, have felt this is all glued on and it's,holding up just fine and this is the, very first costume I ever made for them,it's a turtle shell I added a,finding a blog post it gave me,step-by-step instructions for that I,will see if I can link it below this is,a well well-loved costume and it is all,it's cardboard felt and there's some, stuffing inside all done with hot glue, and it's lasted almost four years so,that's pretty amazing the only thing I,found with the felt over time is that it,gets really pili after lots of use but I,mean let me see if you can see you can,see a little bit,it's very pilled but that's not a big, deal so that's it for today I just, wanted to share what we do I found it's,a great solution very cheap and easy and, quick the masks are reusable they are, durable they last for years and they are,a lot of fun to make I find as well it's,definitely easy to go overboard on,Halloween and buying costumes spending, lots of money but I just wanted to show, you really don't have to you can have a,really fun and great costume for low, cost so I would love to hear what you, guys do for costumes for your kids do,you make them do you buy them what's,your solution for all that thanks so,much for watching today if you like this, video please give me a thumbs up and, subscribe if you'd like to see more and,I will see you next time bye
