I MADE OLIVIA RODRIGO'S "good 4 u" CHEER OUTFIT | diy halloween costume for $30

hey guys my name is caitlin haley and as,you all know halloween is coming up,now despite the fact that i have like, zero experience making clothes i decided, that i was going to recreate olivier, rodriguez good for you cheer outfit,i did this for only 30 and it should be,just a bit beginner friendly, now these are the clothes that i bought, off of sheehan i'm going to be honest i,was a little bit worried it wouldn't,come in time for halloween but it only, took a week and a half to arrive, starting off with the tank that was, seven dollars the skirt nine dollars the, glove six dollars and the hair clips at,just one dollar all totaling to 23,dollars as for the ribbon i purchased, three of them in black blue and white, colorways they were two dollars each at,walmart totaling to six,i'm gonna be honest i had no idea what a,fat quarter was when i bought it i just, knew that it was in the fabric section,of walmart and i thought hey it's only a,dollar let's just buy it i ended up,using only like a super small portion of,it so i still have like a bunch of extra, that i didn't use,so the most important thing that i used, was this fabric glue i didn't include it,in the price because it was something i,already had in my house, but i do know that these run at about, eight dollars depending on where you get, them from,so the total i spent to make this, costume was thirty dollars which i think,is pretty good compared to four to fifty, dollars that you'll see it like party, city or spirit halloween,so to start off i cut two pieces of,black ribbon to nine inches each which i,used to create the first v on the top,i then cut four more nine inch ribbons, which are two blue pieces and two black, pieces to finish up the v design,so here you can see me laying them out, envisioning what it'll look like in the,end and i think it has the general shape, and, image that i'm going for so then i'll,take the blue fabric which i cut to kind,of like a rectangular size and then i,make sure to leave a little bit of extra,at the sides in the bottom which i'll,explain later,so here's me cutting it and you'll see, that the edges are super rough super, uneven,so i fixed this by gluing the first set,of black ribbons right at the edge so,the rough cut is hidden and away from, view,so i think that really solved the, problem,so,here i've already glued down the blue, fabric onto the top and i flipped it,over and cut it to size, hence why i left some extra fabric, earlier it just like makes sure i didn't,cut it too small, here i've already glued down the six, pieces of ribbon onto the top and then,i'm going to take black ribbon to cover, the rough edges on the side i had my mom, helping me with the entire gloom process,so big thank you big shout out to her,for that because if it was just me it,would have taken like so much more, longer than it actually took, the top is pretty much finished and all, that's left is the skirt this process, was super time consuming super tedious, but the final outcome was definitely, worth it we started with black ribbon to,line the edge and then a strip of white, ribbon right next to that we left a,strip of blue and then we glued on,another strip of white ribbon to mirror, the first part,so i actually found out that i ran out,of black ribbon to completely cover the,top part, but i worked around that and i used what,i had left to at least cover the front, part of the skirt which i really hope, isn't too noticeable but i think it's,fine,so the costume is complete and this is,what it looks like, you

DIY Cheerleading Skirt - Throwback Thursday - HGTV Handmade

DIY Cheerleading Skirt - Throwback Thursday - HGTV Handmade

every one so it is back-to-school week, here on HGTV handmade and today for, throwback Thursday we are checking back,in with the ladies over at stylish 'us,to learn how to make this adorable, cheerleading skirt you will need some, sewing skills for this one but the final, result is perfect for spirit week,Halloween or depending on your style, even just an everyday look I had a lot,of fashion don'ts in school but one that, really stands out is this random trend, that went around where we would all wear, men's boxers as shorts with a belt I,mean we'd roll it over for a little, extra sass we'd add a surfer tee oh did,I mention the velcro tennis shoes oh I,was big into like the band t-shirts in,the baggy jeans I loved baggy jeans, flannels and army boots that was my,thing but I always thought chillin, skirts were so dirty so I decided to,make one I ditched the pom-poms and made,it everyday where this project will take, you about four hours, hey girls ready okay the first thing you, want to do is cut out your pattern, pieces you'll need four or you'll,actually need to duplicate this because, this is enough for the front of the, skirt so for the front skirt part of the, skirt you'll need two pleats a Center, two sides and a waistband and like I,said you'll duplicate this and all these, patterns can be found on diynetwork.com,so once you have it all cut out we are, going to make the waist view and this is,actually going to be on the inside of,the skirt it's going to hold our elastic, because we're going to have elastic, finish so you lay right sides together, and you're just gonna stitch right along, the edges so I'll look just like so can,you hold this piece for me,sure wait so we take that center piece, and we're going to add the pleats to it,because Chilean skirts need pleats don't,you agree of course definitely so I just, laid the right sides together and then I,pinned it,but school colors did you guys have, brown and gold,it wasn't purple I'm gonna be blue and, gold I was purple and gold you got, purple purple and gold it was this, purple but with gold which I couldn't do,I went with a pink for this so you do,this on both sides and then it's gonna, look like this pop it open, voila boom and these are gonna be our, pleats so you need to have you know two, side pieces so you just kind of follow, the same thing you lay it right sides, together pin and stitch and then once I,had it all ready look just like this and,now we get to make the pleats you guys, ever make a pleated skirt before not now, yeah it's real easy all you do is kind,of just fold it over and then you're,gonna press it with a really hot iron, and that would kind of hold the pleat in,place and I also like to paint on top,and then take this to the sewing machine, and do like a basting stitch right on,top,mm-hmm that's the stitch you can just, kind of rip out yeah it's really like a,loose stitch and for those of you that, don't understand the southern accent, she's a basting stitch oh you the cutest, accent ever oh it's a curse sometimes so,you're gonna make this is the front so,you'll do the same to make the back and,it'll look just like so and then we lay, right sides together and then you're,just gonna pin and stitch right along, the sides and so if you wanted to make, the skirt bigger probably your best bet,is to sort of add some width here, because you don't want to start adding, points on your hips I probably make the, center a little wider the pleats a,little wider inside of oh all the way, around yeah cuz you want it to look, proportionate cuz the pleats I'm right,in the center I could add more than you, know two pleats to the body to be,careful with these skirts the pleats are,not not in the worst place that they've,known me to Padma so now that we have, this we're gonna add that band to hold, the elastic so go we need to turn this, right side out,see it's starting to take shape it is,it's all coming clear to me now okay so,then we just do right sides together and,you match the side scenes you just slide, this right over your skirts and then, once you have it in position you're,going to pin and stitch it and you're,going to stitch like right along the top,it will look just like this so now we,just need to make that case in so we,need to turn it wrong side out mm-hmm,and the first time I did this I just, folded it like here and I was like why,did I do that I really should have, folded it over the top of the pleats,mm-hmm cuz I thought it would look a lot, fair a lot cleaner do you have to finish, this edge I'm so that it would be good,to finish it actually and if you want um,you might use like a Pinker shears or,you can search all of these too if you, want to have a nice leaner line so once, you have it folded you're just gonna, stitch right along the top a little, wider than your elastic and you need to,leave a hole because we're gonna feed, our elastic through you can see I left a,little hole right here so I take I,always do a safety pin do you guys see, that too and that just kind of like put,it through and then I sit in front of,the couch and watch TV until I get it,all the way your hands and just when,it's going around another quick tip is,to make sure once you get to the end um,that you do a little pin I do you know, and sometimes I do it even before I,start I'll just lay this right here and,add a pin because if you lose the tail,it's so sad it works the works so hard, this is actually a project I gave my,boyfriend and be like can you put this, through for me and then I go up and, finish the other standard so you search, the bottom and you finish it and then,Isis I took it right-side out and it,looks this cute oh that's so yeah and,it's like this fun spunky little like, chilli and it's been horrible but I also, just side it like elastic bands are, great but I really like belts mmm,and you can go really crazy with the, colors and your fun yeah that waistband, part you can make it a little bit, thicker and still do the elastic and, then I just added some real fun belt, loops that match the pleats and then a,little bit of decorative stitching heute, and it'd be really sets that gives it a,really fun like 70s go-go boots kind of,look - I love it so great well this has, been adorable and hope I think we're,ready to set up for you okay how cute, was that skirt of course you can make it,in any colors you want your school, colors or just your own favorite colors, let us know in the comments were you, ever a cheerleader or did you ever make, your own school clothes thank you guys,so much for watching, throwback Thursday and stay tuned, tomorrow for the final craft of our,back-to-school week bye everyone

DIY Bring It On Cheerleading Outfit! Halloween Costume | Easy Sewing

DIY Bring It On Cheerleading Outfit! Halloween Costume | Easy Sewing

hi Ron and welcome back to another video,in today's video I'm going to show you,how I made this Halloween costume and, this was obviously a cheerleading outfit,it is inspired by the movie bring it on,me and my friends are going as the girls, from that for Halloween however it,doesn't have the school logo on the, front I'll get to that bit right at the,end of the video and the only reason,it's not on there is simply because I,think it looks better without it,so obviously that's up to you you want,to stick that on or not but yeah so if,you want to know how I made this um from, scratch the full skirt and top back then, just keep on watching and as an optional, extra I even added a pocket so when, you're out you can put your phone or,lipgloss or whatever it is in your, pocket in case you don't have a bag with, you so to see how I made this whole, outfit then keep on watching me so what, you're going to need to make this, costume is mostly some red fabric now, this is just $7 a meter super cheap and,it was the wide width so I think it's,about 90 inches or something yeah so I,just got so polyester I think you're,also going to need a little bit of black, fabric this is actually just an old, dress so any scraps that you have, leftover it will be fine because you, only need a tiny bit for the detail on,the top so it's mostly yeah obviously, the red because that's their school, colors but if you were just doing this,is a regular cheerleading costume you, could use any color you're also going to,need and I'm making a few that's why I,have four but if you're just making one, costume then you only need one zip and, there are about eight inches now the, most expensive thing about this who, actually be ribbons so these are all by,5 meters I got two of the white one, black in the same width one of this six, millimeter black one and one of the 22,millimeter black one,so I've got some regular size some, skinny and some long and then what I,actually used mostly it was the heat, bond so this one was like nine dollars,so it's like iron on heat transfer, rather than sewing to add the ribbons on,but I did end up finding one that was, only like two dollars when I went back, but it was an older style worked exactly, the same even better maybe it was just, the only one they had left otherwise I,would have stopped up on tons of them, but yeah so you're gonna need ribbon, fabric heat bond zips you're going to,need some dress pins chalk some thread, and just a reminder to have your image, whether it's on your laptop or a,printout close by it so that you can see, exactly what the look is that you're,going for it's going to help you it's,going to get you in the mood and it's,going to help you when you're trying to,make it all look accurate so yeah so,what you're going to need I also use, that white skirt to trace just to get, everything because I already had a skirt, that was about the same size and shape,so I just use that to trace and then, adjusted it by trying it on so if you, already have a skirts about the right, size then use that if not just draw out,a will start with a rectangle that's,like half your waist measurement and, then just bring it out slightly at the, bottom so that it's more of a like, triangular ish shape if that makes any, sense I did make it a little bit longer, than the skirt but I went back and cut,it but if you're tracing something, always make it a bit bigger because you,do want to allow for seam allowances, that's what I did here then you want to,go and cut it out I'm actually using, pinking shears here just because it's,supposed to prevent fraying, but with when I made the other costumes, for my friends I didn't bother with this, you can just use any scissors again, since you're probably only going to wear,it for one night it doesn't have to be,the best quality it's up to you and, honestly regular scissors work just fine,it cut through quicker and I didn't see,any fraying of the fabric so you can, probably just use regular fabric, scissors to cut this out,now the next step is to make the back, piece of the skirt so to do this I,actually fold it over the front piece, and I trace it on to the fabric and this,is on a farm okay so you want to make, sure that all your pieces again match up,that it's all good you cut three strips, per piece of fabric on the front piece, and the two back pieces the next step is,just making sure that all of them are,the same length that if you've cut them, out correctly you won't have to do this, but since I went and trimmed mine to be,shorter I just wanted to double-check,now this again it's me with the chalk, just marking the back of the fabric so I,decided to hem this it's unnecessary you, don't need to do if you don't want to,because you're just doing this for a,Halloween costume it doesn't have to be,perfect but if you do choose to do a hem, this is where you would want to do it,you want to turn up the edges I also do,it around the waistband and pin them, down so I'll do that on all three pieces, and then just with my sewing machine a,straight stitched using a red thread to,turn over the edges, now once that's done you want to take, your adhesive tape and cut strips that, match up to the length of the ribbon, once you've done that you want to pin it,on to the ribbon with the with the white, side facing up because that is the tape, that you're going to rip off in a minute,so you want the gluey bit down on the, ribbon on obviously if you underside of,the ribbon to the less shiny side so you, want to take your iron and follow the, instructions on your adhesive tape mine, said to hold it for two seconds and then, let it cool down once you've let it cool, you can rip off the backing paper and, then start to stick it to the scale so,you want to peel off the backing paper, which might take a few goes and then pin,all the pieces to the skirt pieces again, you want to make sure that these line up,with the so I mean this is a back piece, you want to make sure that lines up to,the front piece and to the other back, piece so that when you sew it together, the lines look like one line and not, like a higgledy-piggledy mess so hold, the iron down for whatever period of,time your instructions say mine said, five seconds I then went and pulled out,all of the pins once they're to cool, down because I wanted to go back over it,with the iron so that the iron would sit, flat rather than sitting on top of the, pins but yet again optional it's up to,you once you've done that you want to,actually flip the piece over once it's,cooled down and iron it from the other, side just for two seconds or whatever, your instructions say to make sure that, the glue is fully stuck, you, okay so this is it um is this my pocket,so you want to turn that back inside so,you do put a pocket it works sit as flat, but as I said I just love pockets and,you can make this as long or short as,you want this is just what I went with, that is the skirt so obviously I think, that fits pretty well so I'm going to go,ahead and trim everything and I'll just, start is gone, and move on to the top to do this again,i trace something I already owned this,is just a workout top I did change the, neckline to make it straighter because,it comes out in a V so once you've got,the width of the top you want you want,to cut that square out and then fold it,in half just cutting it this way will, ensure that the piece is symmetrical so,I've already marked out my armhole and,my neckline and the length of the top, that I want because it's a crop top so,it's quite short I then went with my,fabric scissors and cut out the armhole, and the neck whole neckline but you can,go back and which I actually did and, adjust this as many times as you need, but this is the rough sort of size that, you want I then went and cut a V in the, middle because again that's just how, their costumes were and I'm going from, that so you want to while it's folded in,half like this you want to just, diagonally cut like we are with the, neckline you want to cut up at the base,to give you that shape and then you can, just hold it up against yourself and see,if you want a deeper V at the top or at,the bottom or bigger arm holes or,whatever now the next step is the, probably the most tedious of this whole, project but it is marking out the design,so I use a roller and some chalk and I,just followed the picture as best I,could and mopped out the lines the next, thing is you want to do the black fabric,so this is why you only need the tiniest, amount you just want to cut a small, rectangle that sort of matches up to the, shape that you need and then I went back, and with my chalk just draw a little bit, better so it's sort of like a triangle, with like another triangle take, out of it so it's like a mountain with, two peaks if that makes any sense and, then you want to mark out where the, black fabric is going to go,compared to your design and then cut it,this is probably really confusing me,trying to describe it but you can see, what I'm doing here I'm laying the, fabric on top and then I'm cutting it,and then just keep adjusting until you,get right you may take a few minutes, see this is the sort of shape you were, going for and once you've done that you, want to just trim off the excess at the, sides and pin it down and repeat this on,the other side you could just simply, trace the piece you've already got, because it's a stretch fabric I decided,it was easier to just do try and do it,again rather than trying to copy the, first side, okay so now let's yeah go to pieces you, want to pin them down and sew them now I,was just laying out my pieces of ribbon, and that is it um yes so it's actually, pretty easy easier than I thought it,takes quite a while especially cutting, out all the strips but once you're the, hang of it it's not that hard and as I,didn't saw half of it I just ironed it,on it's really that easy anyone could do,it to finish off this look I put my hair,in pigtails and curled it added some red, lipstick to match the outfit and just, put some glitter on my eyes on the, actual night of Halloween I'll probably,go bigger I'm thinking of doing some, stripes on my face ribbons in my hair a,whole big thing but for today I figured, this was good enough since I'm just, doing it to film this video yeah if you, liked this then please give it a thumbs,up and subscribe to see more and let me,know down below if you have any comments,or questions or just let me know what, you're going out for Halloween this year,um because I live in Australia Halloween, isn't a really big deal so I'm actually, going out on Saturday night because no,one's gonna be celebrating on a Monday,so yeah I'm going out Saturday night, into the city so this is going to be,super good because I can wear my,sneakers with it so that's what I'm,wearing right now is just white little, like tennis shoe type thing it's,probably the worst way for me show my,shoes but yeah so um I'm gonna be super, comfy while ago they're out in their, heels I'm wearing sneakers so best, costume idea ever you look super cute, and you can get your whole squad, together and perform the roll call's,long which is what i have learned to do,yeah it was harder to make this first, one but I'm actually doing as like a,squad costume so I've got three more of,them to make I've already done another, one of them and it was a lot easier the, second time so I'm hoping that for you, watching a lot home it'll be as easy as,the second time because when I was, making it the first time I was just, making it up as I went along,so I'm sorry if the footage is a little, bit shaky but that's why I had no idea, what I was doing I was just making it up,so it turned out really well though so I,hope yours does too so please let me,know if you do try this out, tweet me Instagram all my links down, below just let me know how it goes and I,hope you have a really awesome Halloween, bye

DIY Jennifer's Body Cheerleader Flag Girl Costume - Made from 3 T-shirts for Halloween

DIY Jennifer's Body Cheerleader Flag Girl Costume - Made from 3 T-shirts for Halloween

hello everyone my name is kitty and i'm,here today to show you how i made this, outfit from the movie jennifer's body,i of course love jennifer she is such an,icon, such a legend so i wanted to make her, cheer or flag girl outfit,i did find this project was easy and, affordable,so hopefully you can follow along and, perhaps make something for yourself,so let's get started as for the, materials to make jennifer check's cheer, costume,i used three extra-large t-shirts,two purple and one yellow i also got, some matching thread, and some craft felt from the dollar, store, you can use extra large or double xl,t-shirts,just make sure they're very roomy so you, have lots of extra fabric,to make the bodice i put on one of the, purple t-shirts and used five safety, pins,i used one safety pin to mark how deep i,wanted the v-neck to go on my bodice,i used one safety pin to mark the, smallest part of my waist, and one safety pin to mark my hips where,i would have the yellow stripe,i then use a safety pin to mark my,shoulder where i want, the sleeve and the bodice to join, and one to mark kind of in my armpit so,i know, how i want that sleeve to look, next get the measurements of your bust, waist and hip and divide them by four, that's going to help you create the, bodice now take that purple t-shirt off,and fold it in half,at this point you can use chalk i used, pens to sort of mark the shape of my,bodice,i marked about how deep i wanted that,v-neck to go,and i created a curve from the shoulder,to the armpit,to create a spot for my sleeve and then,i used the measurements of my bust waist, and hip,and kind of measured out from where i,marked with those safety pins, and created this curved shape so that, the cheer costume will fit snugly across,my body, once finished marking go ahead and cut, out, the side remember only cut out the side,we're going to re-fold it to cut,out the collar the v-shaped collar, then grab a piece of paper and slide it,underneath, that armhole and use a marker to sort of,trace that, curve this will be the pattern for your, sleeve, remember this pattern will be cut on the, fold once finished go ahead and set it,aside, and you can remove any extra pins, now you can refold your t-shirt along, the center that way we can cut,a mirrored neckline starting at that, safety pin where we marked where we want, the v-neck to be,cut up towards the t-shirt collar and,use that circular pattern,of the t-shirt collar to create the back,of your neckline, and now you can remove any extra safety, pins,go ahead and fold your t-shirt in half,so that pretty sides are touching, and you can pin along the sides, because the t-shirt fabric is so,stretchy pins are going to be your best, friend and help you keep this fabric, from stretching and getting all warped, once you have it pinned together you can,set this aside we're going to come back,in a minute and sew, along the side seams but first we're,going to finish cutting out, pieces from the other two t-shirts we,have, start by measuring about how long you, want the skirt of your cheer costume to,be,mine is about 11 inches it should be,from your hip down to about where you, want the skirt to end,and please keep in mind we will not be,hemming it we will be using the bottom,of the t-shirt since it's already hemmed, cut off the bottom of your other purple,t-shirt and your yellow t-shirt,and then you can go ahead and fold these,up and cut them into, six pieces they're all going to want to,be the same, exact length so you're going to have, six purple pieces and six yellow pieces, that are made, from the bottoms of those t-shirts,now go ahead and set aside your six, yellow and six purple squares, and using the top of that purple t-shirt,fold it,up so that it has a fold and you can cut,two mirrored sleeves,in that center this can be a little, tricky,so measure about how long you want your, sleeve to be,but keep in mind we will be adding a,yellow stripe and a pointed cuff to it,then using the yellow t-shirt i cut, three, long strips about two inches wide, this way i can use it for the cuffs the, collar, and some other details, and now i'm just using some scraps from, one of the purple t-shirts to cut out a,pointed cuff,i want it to be folded in the center and, taper off,and trim one of those yellow strips so,that it can be a band, that joins the sleeve to the cuff, now you can set those pieces aside and,we'll move on to the bodice,go ahead and sew the sides together i,like to use,a zigzag stitch that way it still has a,little bit of stretch,to it now let's add the yellow edge to,our collar,go ahead and fold one of your two inch, strips in half, and pin that side edge along the pretty, side,of your bodice, after pinning your strip to the v-neck,go ahead and trim the edges and zigzag, stitch, now to help keep that yellow strip, folded up,and the seam hidden on the inside of the, cheer outfit,go ahead and fold that yellow edge over, the purple one and we're going to top, stitch, along that edge you can see i'm using a,straight stitch, right there that's going to keep that, yellow strip, folded up,now on the inside of your collar you're,going to join those two, yellow strips together sew a straight, line sort of diagonally that way you can, create more of that,v shape, you're satisfied you can trim any excess, now we're going to add the yellow band, and the pointed cuff to your sleeve,go ahead and open them up lie the yellow, band on top,pin it down and zigzag stitch, and then you can attach the cuff to the, yellow band, make sure pretty sides are touching pin,it together, and zigzag stitch,so,and just like the collar we're going to,add a yellow strip,to the bottom of our pointed cuff fold, that yellow strip in half, and pin it along the pointed cuff pretty, sides touching, you can cut any excess and then zig zag, stitch it,fold the yellow band over and straight, stitch it down,if you like next, you can fold your sleeve in half pin it,together all along the sides and then, you will zig zag stitch, that seam shut, trim any bits if necessary, and you're going to repeat all these, steps for your other, sleeve as well, once your two sleeves are finished we,can attach them to your bodice,i start by insiding out my bodice, and then pretty sides touching i match,my sleeve to my bodice that would be the, edge of the sleeve,to the armhole on my bodice and as i pin, these two pieces together,i'm very careful to match the seam of,the sleeve,to the side seam of the bodice and that, top shoulder,to the top of my sleeve, once you have the pretty sides of the, sleeve and the armhole pin together, you can zig zag stitch them together and, then move on to the other sleeve, repeating these steps, insiding out the sleeve and the bodice, and pinning them together, matching the side seam of the bodice to,the under seam of the sleeve, and the top shoulder of the bodice to,the top of the sleeve,so,now that the top half is finished we can, move on to making the skirt, the bottom of one yellow and one purple,t-shirt,should be cut off and then cut up into, six, even squares you're going to start,by pinning these squares together pretty, sides touching, and you will be creating a pattern that,is yellow, purple yellow purple and it will, alternate, after pinning you can go ahead and sew,the sides together, once finished creating a long purple and, yellow strip, take the two sides pin those together, and then zig zag stitch it to create a,sort of,tube like an infinity scarf,of purple and yellow squares, now fold a yellow strip in half and cut,it the same exact length,as the bottom of your bodice, okay so this part can be a little bit, tricky since we're not using, exact measurements to create the pleats, for the skirt, you're going to take that infinity scarf,of purple, and yellow squares and you're going to,start, folding them sort of folding the yellow, behind the purple and pinning them in,place, the real trick here is you want this, tube of purple and yellow squares to be,the same, exact length as that yellow strip we cut, since this skirt is going to have to,match the bottom of your bodice,so to finesse it a little bit you may, have to take some purple and fold it,underneath as well to create these, pleats,so take your time and fuss with it and,try to get it as close as possible to,that yellow band, once you are satisfied with the pleats, for your skirt go ahead and,zig zag stitch along the top and then, starting in the center of one of those, purple pleats, this will be the back of your skirt, start matching that yellow band, all along the top edge of your skirt, pretty sides touching, pin as you go,and then you can zig zag stitch that, yellow strip,to your skirt and remove the pins also,go ahead, and stitch the sides of the yellow strip, together, matching the pretty side of your bodice,to the pretty side of that yellow strip, which is now the top of your skirt start, pinning these two edges together, you're going to want to be very careful,to match the center back of your skirt, with the center back of your bodice and,of course,a center front of the skirt with the, center front of the bodice, and then zig zag stitch these two edges, together, remove any pens and then turn it,now all that's left is to make the, devil's kettle insignia for the cheer, outfit,so i started with a dk stencil, carefully cut it out and then used it to,create my shapes, initially i tried to make the insignia, out of a matching yellow fabric from the,t-shirt,but it was not working for me so i ended,up scrapping,my first insignia that i made you can, kind of see when i'm trimming it up that,i'm like,oh my god it's not working and i moved,on and made the second one,out of craft felt the yellow doesn't,match as well, but the craft felt doesn't stretch as,bad as the yellow t-shirt,which is why i glued it to hopefully, keep it from stretching so much,so what i did was i cut out a yellow dk,and then i put it on a white craft felt, backing, and cut out with sort of a white edge, around the yellow,i then top stitched the yellow craft, felt to the white backing, trimmed it up a little bit more and then, stitched it on the front,of my cheer uniform sort of carefully, pinning it in place, and for the final step i cut two pieces,of elastic, that could go around my middle finger, and then i just hand stitched them,on the underside of that pointed cuff, just to create the finger loop like, jennifer's,all right let's see how she looks on,so,uh,so,so,so,foreign

DIY Taylor Swift Shake it Off Cheerleading Costume

DIY Taylor Swift Shake it Off Cheerleading Costume

hey guys it's miranda why am i wearing a,cheerleading outfit and ridiculous hair, and makeup well it's actually quite, simple i have a problem and i cannot, pass up a costume party,so long story short my friend steph, texted me at the beginning of the week, and she's like i know you're not the, biggest taylor swift fan in the world, but i'm having a taylor swift theme, party so naturally she had to invite me,because we all know i love costume party,so i did my research and i found that, she wears this taylor swift university, cheerleading uniform in her shake it off, music video and i realized oh my god i,have like that exact thing from my,middle school st jerome's school, cheerleading uniform so i figured how,can i not upcycle that thing and let's,make this a good old diy tutorial so you,too can follow along and i'll show you, exactly how you can make this taylor, swift university cheerleading costume, for either a taylor swift themed party, you can use it for halloween a taylor, swift concert whatever you damn well, please and,can you guys believe it i still have my,original pom poms from middle school oh,and i'm also going to link similar items, for purchase on amazon in case you're,not like me and held on to your whole, middle school, children uniform as well as pom poms, shout out to my mom on that one she is,the real og she knew exactly where it,was in a moment's notice anyways let's,get right into it here we go,myself for doing that but i'm really, sorry guys i could not resist,so i wanted to start off by creating the, giant ts for taylor swift patch that's,on the front of her uniform and i had,the bright idea of just using two, different colored ribbons so i went to,my local craft store and i got royal, blue ribbon and this awesome sparkly, yellow ribbon which she does not use but,i wanted to add the extra sugar and, spice and off camera i just, cut out a bunch of different strips of,ribbon to actually make the shape of a t,and an s yes it is that simple and then,i decided i can just glue gun the whole, thing together so i pretty much just, eyeballed this entire thing i wanted to,kind of just mimic the iconic collegiate, font that she has on the front of her, uniform so that's what i'm going through, and i'm cutting corresponding strips of,blue and yellow the yellow are each a,little bit shorter just so that the blue, shows through on all sides, and to make this project as easy as,possible i am just going to hot glue gun, everything together so with my blue, ribbon i had a little bit of an issue, with fraying on the edges so what i did,was just put a tiny bit of glue on the, edge of each blue piece of ribbon and, that just solved that issue i did not,run into that issue with my yellow, ribbon because it was nice and thick so,if i was to do it all over again i would, have made sure that the blue ribbon was, also this thick rigid material but hey,you live and you learn and it came out, just fine we always find a workaround, for these things and just like a puzzle, piece i am gluing everything into place,so you want to fully glue together the t,first and then the s separately because, they'll be intertwined later so i just, wanted to zoom in and show that on the s,i cut the corners of each piece of,ribbon before they were glued together,to really mimic the font that she uses,on her uniform, and as you can see now we are, intertwining the t and the s just the,way that she has it and i added a dab of,glue in all three spots where they are, connected just for extra security,i ended up making two ts patches because, little did my fiance know he was totally, getting involved and this was becoming a,couple's costume so now i'm gonna use my,fabric fusion fabric glue and just apply,a generous amount on the back of the, entire patch and then we're gonna just, firmly press it down in the center front,of the uniform i wasn't 100 sure if,fabric glue was going to work for these, two different types of materials and it,actually did end up adhering pretty well, later on i ended up adding a little bit,of e6000 just to make sure that it,really stayed in place but i think just, fabric glue would have been enough okay,so you know we have to make this thing a,little bit cuter so we are turning it,into a crop top and yes that's how, taylor swift has hers as well hers is,even more like a bra top so i don't feel,so bad so i am just cutting a clean line, straight through my middle school, cheerleading uniform,so i'm now using the leftover yellow, sparkly ribbon and i'm just going to cut, along strips and glue them onto the, neckline i'm using e6000 here because, this neckline material it's not quite, fabric it's a little bit rougher and it,seemed to stick better so just as a,general rule if you're gluing something, which is fabric to fabric that's when, you want to use fabric glue and if,you're doing fabric to another material, that's when you use e6000 so again i'm,just putting this thing all into place, like a puzzle and cutting and gluing, accordingly, you know i always like to add the extra, sugar and spice and incorporate the, dazzling into a craft whenever i,possibly can so i'm using my craft, syringe along with the e6000 craft glue,so you fill up your craft syringe with, the glue and that allows you to have, super accurate placement of the glue and, then you use a wax pencil and that, allows you to have super accurate, placement of the jewels you guys know, the deal by now i do a ton of bedazzling, videos you can check those out all on my,channel and i'll link some above right, here so i'm going to speed this up for,you i just place the glue and then go on,and close the jewels you can just have, fun with it here i decided not to go too, crazy but just do one line of jewels, across the t and the s,and guys i just want to say before you,all come for me about the comment i made, earlier about not being taylor swift's,biggest fan,i mean honestly i want to say that i,really appreciate what she is doing, right now with re-releasing her music, she should own her music music is art,and taylor swift you go girl for that, reason i am now a fan and to complete, the look this is pretty self-explanatory,take your extra ribbon tie a knot around,a hair elastic then tie a bow first your, royal blue ribbon and then your yellow, and you want to cut the edges like so to,mimic a true cheerleader bow,and to really tie it all together i also, glued some ribbon around the entire, bottom of the skirt and here is our, final product guys this costume was, really easy to recreate and you can too,i said i'll link everything below on,amazon and here is the version that i,made for my fiance so i did the same, exact patch minus the bedazzling and, then i glued on ribbons onto just an old, navy v-neck white t-shirt his brother, used to be a university of kentucky, cheerleader and let us borrow his, freaking cheerleading uniform pants, which totally completed the look thank, you chris i styled my hair and makeup, just like taylor as well she wears a,signature cheerleading curls ponytail as,well as this awesome blue and red eye, shadow and her signature red lip,as promised here are some content photos, from the hosts of the taylor swift party, they absolutely killed it here's matt, and i in our matching taylor swift, university uniforms and here is the tick, tock we made space i go on so many days, look how freaking good everyone looks, and they're taylor swift and friends, outfits so guys thank you so much for, watching this diy taylor swift costume, tutorial i hope i inspired you to get,out there get creative commit to a hey guys it's Jessica so today is my,final Halloween video I'm doing a DIY,costume for the cheerleader from the, shake it off music video by Taylor Swift,I'm so excited about this video I worked,so so so hard on it this took me forever,to film and make and edit and everything, and I'm so excited for you guys to see,it I love Taylor so much so I thought, this would be a really really fun video, today for my left Halloween video so,yeah I don't want to make this video, super long so let's just go ahead and,get on into the video to make the, cheerleader top first find a picture of,the TS logo that Taylor has on hers then, just adjust the size and print it on to,print transfer paper then just set up,your shirt on an ironing board I'm using, this white crop top from American,Apparel I will link below then count the, logo and iron it on following the, directions on your print transfer paper, package, you,to make the blue and yellow stripes, around the edges I'm just using some, ribbon I used a double sided tape to,secure the ribbon onto the shirt but it,came undone when I tried to put it on so,I would suggest using hot glue instead,so I added a yellow stripe then a blue, stripe and then another yellow stripe, onto the entire bottom of the shirt and, just secured that on,around each armhole I did the same color, pattern at yellow blue yellow by upping, the ribbon around it and securing it,finally I did the same thing on the, front of the neckline, and that is all you have to do to make, the shirt for this skirt I'm using this, blue skater skirt that I got on a Milan, which I will link below for the strips I,am again using some yellow ribbon and, doing basically the same thing as the,top I'm attaching two stripes of yellow, ribbon with a hot glue gun leaving a,little space in between the two stripes,to look like a blue one I decided to put,my hair and a ponytail and tie a yellow, and blue ribbon around it you kind of,like tied look together, this costume is so cute and perfect for,Halloween if there's a little bit colder, where you live you can do this on a long, sleeve top and add like tights your, leggings underneath to make it a little, bit warmer,so thank you guys so much for watching I,really hope you guys enjoyed it if you, didn't join it would be awesome if you, give this video a thumbs up for me and,if you aren't already subscribed you, should totally subscribe because I post, videos every single weekend so starting, next weekend I will be doing fall videos,I haven't really gotten a chance to do,many fall videos because I kind of just, went straight into Halloween ones so if,you guys have any like fall video, requests be sure to let me know and I,will try my best to do them I hope you, guys enjoyed this video and if you, decide to recreate this costume but, please please please send me pictures I,would love to see them I think that's,about it thank you guys so much for, watching and I'll see you guys in,another video next weekend bye

Cheerleader Costume + DIY Pom Poms

Cheerleader Costume + DIY Pom Poms

hey guys today I'm going to show you how,I created that cheerleading costume that, you just saw as well as these pom poms, they're super easy to make and if you're,totally out of time to decide what, you're gonna be for Halloween this is,the perfect outfit because it's made out,of things you may already have at your, house or you can just go to the store, and buy and you'll use again in your, normal life so if you do actually have,to buy some of these things then it's,actually pretty good so it's not just, like a costume that you're never going,to wear again, but anyway without further ado let's get, started alright so let's start off with, the DIY what I did for my pom poms was, grab some tissue paper you could, actually use different materials for, this I've seen people use t-shirts trash, bags or just different fabrics but I,just use tissue paper the kind of paper, that you use to fill present bags with, and you're gonna need tape and scissors, first thing to do is fold your stack of,about five tissue papers and you could, always use different colors maybe two, colors three colors but I just decided,to go with white so next step is to grab, your scissors and cut up until I believe, halfway or a little less than halfway it,just really depends on how long you want, your pom-pom strands to be because this,is what you're making right now the, little pom-pom strands so just cut them, about an inch wide or maybe even half an,inch depending on also how wide you want, your little pom-pom strands to be and, after you're done cutting all the way to,the end now it's time to make your, handle which is just basically the other, side just twist the other side so that,it looks like a handle and to secure it,grab your tape which I must add can be,really pretty because there's actually, really pretty duct tape out there but, honestly I'm just going to use these,pom-poms for one day so I decided just,to go with regular old gray duct tape, but definitely feel free to make these,pom-poms really pretty so anyway I just, grabbed your duct tape and wrap it,around the handle so that it stays like, that and you are done with loop time to,start cheering well actually get to make,a second one and then it's time to start, cheering okay so onto the actual, cheerleading outfits once you've got, your pom-poms ready now it's time to,transform into a cheerleader which is,super easy all I did was grab a white so,skirt I got my circle skirt from foreign, exchange and then I just put on a blue, long sleeve that I got from Target but,of course you could always use different, colors depending on what kind of colors, you want to be representing or what kind,of colors you already have in your, closet for my hair all I did was create,a really really high half ponytail and, then added a bow on top I purchased this, bow at forever 21 if you want to get the, same bow so everything that I'm wearing, for this costume I already had in my,closet and I already had the tissue, paper and duct tape in my storage box so,if you're like me this costume is,totally free from my head to my feet I'm,also wearing my navy kids and I'm not, actually representing anything is,they're just the colors that I had in my,closet but I am sharing for you go you,go you you're the best,uh-huh you rock whoop whoop whoop oh man,why did I make a Chilean team my cheers, are awesome Go Go music yeah my chairs, aren't the best I understand that's why,did it make team just can I ever try to,be a cheerleader because it's expensive,to be your cheerleader and I can't do,fun tricks but that's what Halloween's,all about you could be whatever you want,to be so if you've never been a,cheerleader before like me you can, totally enjoy the day and being a cheery, cheerleader and you can of course cheer, for anything that you want so if you, enjoyed this video found it entertaining, and loved Halloween please give this a,huge thumbs up that would make me feel, terribly loved and I would greatly, appreciate it I would also appreciate, that if you have not clicked that red, subscribe button at you do now so you,can be part of the crystal Kingdom and,be royalty in my crystal castle have a,fun save Halloween and I'll see you next, time bye
