MAYOR + OOGIE BOOGIE COSTUME DIY | Nightmare Before Christmas Costumes Part 1

hey guys welcome back to my channel, today's video is part one of a three, part series I am making on all the, costumes for the Nightmare Before,Christmas so in today's video I will be,making the mayor and Oogie Boogie for,the mayor's head I just grabbed a,lampshade from our thrift store for two, dollars and pulled off all the wrapping, and then I am just going to be painting, the front and the back different colors, for the two different phases so this, first color is a peachy pink color I,will have all the pink colors as well as,all the materials needed for these, costumes in the description box below so,be sure to check that out on the other, side of his face I will be painting it a,light bluish color for the front of his, face I didn't show you this part because, you really couldn't see it out lined his, whole face with a pencil and I did it,really lightly so if I did mess up it be,easy to fix,I'm just looking at a picture on my,computer for reference, now for the cheeks I got a little bit of,this peachy color on this sponge brush, and I'm just blending it out like you, would on your real cheek you know really, lightly and just using that blending, motion outlined the lips the cheeks and,I also outline the bottom of his face, with that color now going in with some, bright white paint I am painting on his, teeth again I'm looking at a picture for, reference so I know exactly how his, smile looks once his teeth were done I,outlined everything with black using a,really fine tipped paint brush and then,I'm also going to be drawing lines for,his teeth, moving onto the backside I am just, outlining his entire face structure with,a very light gray color and I am just, blending this in it looks pretty sloppy, but now I know where exactly I will be,doing his face I found this mustard, color and I thought this would be a good, color for his eyes take his time joke up,and quit the kitchen tap, dirty dishes and then I'm,outlining his eyes with a green it kind,of looks a little bit different here but,I do go over all of the outlines again, with a darker green,to,this is how do you feel the one Lucas, again with a really fine tipped paint, brush I'm going in with some black and, painting on his zigzag teeth, now for the mayor's hat I picked up some,of this foam poster board from Dollar,Tree and measuring the bottom of the, width of the hat I use that for the, reference to cut it out but that is what, the bottom of the hat is is just that, thick poster board and then using a,normal poster board from Dollar Tree I,am rolling it up and gluing it together, with some hot glue and this will be the,top portion of his hat,now it's a good to stay on I just cut a,few slits at the bottom so that I could, fold them down and then I will just glue, this with the hot glue on the top of the,Hat,the last thing I did for the Hat is I,glued a little piece of gray felt to the, bottom and I feel like that gave it the, perfect finishing touch to finish off,the mayor's look you will need a gray, suit coat jacket I picked this up for a,few dollars at our thrift store as well,as a white dress shirt and some black, slacks you will also want to have a,spider and we just safety-pin that to,the shirts and of course his mayor award, pin moving on to agee boogie we're gonna, start out with a mask and I just picked,up this mask from Dollar Tree I will, tell you guys I followed another YouTube, video for this and that is what inspired,me to decide to actually make this, costume instead of byuk there was a few, costumes I was like you know what I feel, like it would just be easier to buy but,for the og Boogie costume if you get a,nice one they're upwards of two and, three hundred dollars so I figured I,should try making this so all I'm doing,is using this Dollar Tree mask and I'm,gluing on this piece of poster board so,that I can just have more room for the, mouth because oogie-boogies face is,longer than this mask and using some air,dry modeling clay I am going to be,molding the shape of his face this does, not need to be perfect all you really, need is to get an outline of what his, face is going to look like so that when, you put the burlap over the top of it it,will mold to the face what you really, want to pay attention to is making sure, that his nose is flat because he doesn't,have a nose so flatten out that nose, area and then just give him those really, bulgy big huge eyes and also the lips, you want the lips to be as big as,possible this did take over 24 hours to,dry so if you want to get started on,this costume for Halloween then you, better start doing it like right now, while that's drying we are just going to,outline the body for oogie-boogie so I'm,drawing my husband's outlines so I know, about how big I need this my brother who,is I think 63 or 64 is actually going to,be this costume so I did have to add a,little bit of extra at the top but what,I'm doing is getting two pieces of this, body shape you are going to hot glue the, seams so on the edges of the bottom,I am leaving that open so that he can, stick his feet through because that will,be a separate thing but again I'm just, gluing all the sides and I also only, glued it up about 3/4 of the way because,I will be adding arms into that,so this felt portion all I am doing is,gluing this so that I could shove, stuffing into it and I'll be doing this,on the front and the back side of the, costume,I picked up the stuffing at Walmart for,$10 I think it was about 30 at jo-ann so,just so you know it's a lot cheaper if,you pick it up at Walmart,I didn't show you this part but I did, turn this inside out and that is the, blob that's laying next to me on the, other side so once you have it all glued, then you will turn it inside out and you, have your body now I'm just adding some, feet and I will also be adding some arms,I just traced my leg and then I also, trace my arm and that's why I get the,arm in the leg shape you're going to,need four of each obviously because you,are going to be gluing two of them, together and then folding them inside, out make sure that you are not gluing, the tops of the legs and the arms, because that is where obviously you need,to be putting your feet and your arms, through once you have all your pieces, glued together then I'm just going in,with some of this black jute and I'm,giving him his stitches the stitches, don't really need to look any certain, way they're very messy on him so,whatever you want to do just add some, black jute through it so that you can,see all the cute stitching on all the, sides of his body okay we're working on,the mask again as you can see some of it,had actually broken off but that's okay, again all we need is the outline of the, lips and the eyes that's the most, important I am actually leaving this, glued to the mask I hot-glued everything,so that it stayed on the mask so that, you could easily slip it on to your head, since it has a strap on the back but, what I'm doing here is I'm just gluing, some of this brown felt to the mask, because the burlap is see-through I,wanted it to be ten underneath I don't,know if this is necessarily needed but I,do think it helped it look a little bit, better then going in with some black, felt I am giving him his mouth, and again just hot gluing I will tell, you I have about 3,000 burns from the,hot glue gun and I probably used two, bags of hot glue sticks this took a lot,of hot glue, now using some black mesh that's,actually what I stuck in the eyes so,that you could still see through them, however my brother claims that he still, could not see so maybe you don't need as,much as I shoved in the little eye holes, now we're covering his face with some, burlap you want to use a big piece of,burlap for this and you will just be,molding this to the face again hot glue, whatever you need to stick the hot glue, down I use knives marker tips anything, but your fingers so that you're not, burning yourself a whole bunch this took, about 30 minutes of me working with a,burlap and just moving it around gluing,it making sure it stayed exactly where I,wanted it to stay, once that's done you want to cut this, into a kind of a triangle shape but make, sure that your head could fit through it,and then you're going to glue another, piece exactly the same size to it and, then you're going to turn it inside out,and then you will have your awesome mask,I ended up putting just a little bit of,stuffing in the tip of this hat to give,it a little bit more of some volume up,there I also ended up painting back the,Hat a little bit because this hat kind,of flops backwards so I glued that fold, just like that so it stays like that now,I am going in with some tan paint and, just giving him some more shadows on his, lips and the top of his eyes and that is,all I did guys for this costume and then, once my brother was in the costume,I actually velcroed the top the neck, area that is all just velcroed on so,that way you could easily slip out of,the costume with no problems I have to,say I've just been laughing my head off,at all these clips of my brother in this, costume I cannot take it seriously but,if you guys liked this video please give,it a thumbs up I do have two additional, videos for this series so stay tuned for,my lock shock and Barrel the,trick-or-treaters and also my three, different Jack's I have a separate video, for each of those and I hope you stick, around to see those as well thanks again,so much for watching and we'll see you, guys in the next video

JACK SKELLINGTON COSTUMES DIY | Part 3 Nightmare Before Christmas Series

JACK SKELLINGTON COSTUMES DIY | Part 3 Nightmare Before Christmas Series

hey guys welcome to part three of my,three-part series of making all the, costumes for the Nightmare Before,Christmas so in part one I did the mayor, and Oogie Boogie part two was locked, shock and Barrel the trick-or-treaters,and in today's video I will be doing all,of the variations of Jack I will be,doing the normal Jack Skellington the,Santa version and the original version,of him with a pumpkin head that's shown,at the very beginning so we are going to,start with the first version of Jack and,I just picked up this burgundy maroon, purpley color sweater at our thrift, store and I picked it up for just a,couple of dollars but all I'm going to,do is cut it down the center and then, cut the arms so they look really ragged, for the pants I actually picked up this, pair at our thrift store I didn't end up,gluing them to the pants that's what I,thought I was going to do but I use this,as a reference for the size I needed to,cut the burlap so all I did was cut, around the pants make sure you give it a,few inches I did it a little too close I,would definitely add at least two or,three inches on either side because when, you're gluing it together obviously it's,going to be a little bit smaller so I,glue this together the same way I did,Aggie boogie and then I just slipped the, pants in and someone my husband put them,on it looks like he's just wearing these, but it also has the other pair of pants, underneath it now for the shirt I just, wanted to run this burlap all the way up,to his neck I just got one of my,husband's shirts that he doesn't wear, anymore and I'm gluing this piece of,burlap to the front of the shirt,as for the pumpkin head I ordered this, off Amazon, this was definitely the priciest thing I,purchased for all of the costumes, carvable pumpkins are no joke, they can run pretty high and this is a,really large one it's 15 by 11,I cut out a big hole in the bottom for,his head and then with a pencil I drew, the face that I wanted to carve and I,really just copied the picture from the, movie now for his wood sign I picked up,a piece of wood at Lowe's I believe I,paid $4 for this and I originally, painted it brown and then I realized,it's black and gray so I went back over, this don't worry about the brown, underneath it I end up just cutting that, off but I just did a black and gray, acrylic paint over the top and then I,went over with a sharpie and wrote,Halloweentown, since the O in Halloween is the center,I did the O first and then I wrote all,the other letters outside of it just to,make sure that your words are centered, all we did from here is we stapled, another piece of wood on the back and, then he stuck it in his shirt, now moving on to the original Jack the, costume we purchased came with this, little necktie but in the movie if,you've noticed his necktie is huge it,comes past his shoulders so I wanted to,make the necktie a lot bigger I picked,up some foam from Walmart and these were,I believe 40 cents for each piece and, then I'm just tracing this over I just, looked at it and I got an idea of what, the shape was and then again I traced it,on to the other one so that they were, exactly even and then I also cut out a,little cap for the center, now going back over with some black felt,I'm tracing this on again and I'm just, going to be hot gluing these together, now for the last piece I just got some, white acrylic paint and I am just, painting on the design that's on his, necktie, now to finish off this costume I got, some white and some black face paint and,I'm just painting a neck on my sister I,think this is pretty necessary and when, doing a Jack and wanting it to look as,realistic as possible you want a really, thin neck that's what makes it look, funny is when people just put the head,on and then you see a big thick neck, underneath if there's a thin neck it,looks way more realistic and like the, movie,I purchased this costume in Searchers, and this is the woman's one I think this, one looks the most realistic out of any,of the actual costumes you can buy I,like the back how it has that tail so,even if you're a guy I think that I,would purchase this version of it rather, than the other one that they have in,stores now moving on to the last one, which is the Santa and I think that I,had the most fun with this one maybe, because it was also the easiest to do so,I picked up this fabric from Joanne's,it's just a white hair fabric it was,$17.99 a yard and I just got a little, sliver off of it because I only needed a,long piece to go down and to make a,beard my son is in the head for, reference and I'm going to make this, basically as long as my child so I'm,cutting this all the way down and then,at the very end I just did a little, swirl,I picked up this Santa outfit at,Searchers as well and I only paid 30,bucks for it so this was a very easy, costume all I had to do again was make, the beard and I hot glued it on to the, face I also hot glued the Hat on and, this is just a hat that came with the, costume okay guys well that was, everything for this series thank you, guys so much for watching if you happen,to miss any of these videos be sure to,go back and watch part 1 and part 2,where I do the boogie man the mayor and,the trick-or-treaters thanks again so,much guys if you have not yet hit that, red subscribe button make sure you do,that and we will see you guys in the, next video

Christmas Costume Idea: DIY Bobblehead Cosplay.

Christmas Costume Idea: DIY Bobblehead Cosplay.

Been wearing the same costume to your office Christmas party for the last 20,years? Well that's kind of boring. Maybe this year it's time to spice it up a bit, with a giant Christmas tree ornament on your head. Now that's a costume.,Hey everyone today I'm gonna try and make a giant bobblehead Christmas tree, ornament thing to go on my head for a Christmas dress-up party I'm going to in,a couple days. I have no idea how I'm gonna do it or if I'm gonna get it done,in time but that's never stopped anyone. Ever. So,let's get making. Okay so I knew I needed to use something round to make my,pattern and balls are round so I decided to use one of those. I started by,wrapping the ball in a layer of cling wrap and then a layer of plastic packing tape.,Agh cut my finger! Don't cut your fingers! I'm going as fast as I can without, hurting my ball I mean a ball or myself. Once the ball was wrapped I drew a line, around the center of the ball. Handy that basketballs come with lines on them, because I could just follow one of the lines under the tape. What's unfortunate,is that basketballs aren't split up into sixths so I used some rubber bands to,mark out the other two lines. Using my ring ruler I was able to get the spacing,of the rubber bands reasonably accurate. I traced the rubber bands with my marker, and then cut out a section. This is also a good time to try not to cut the ball.,In order to get this piece to lay flat enough for my pattern I still need to,cut it one more time right across the center. So now I have a pattern for a,basketball but I need to figure out how big I want my ball to be.,>Hey Sam what do you think if this was the size of my head?,>I think that's good >Pretend this is me with a giant ball for a head,With the size of my bobblehead determined all I needed to do was some, measuring and some fancy math to figure out how much I needed to scale the, pattern. With my pattern all scaled up I was ready to start making. I traced my,template 12 times on to some 10 millimeter thick foam mats and then, carefully cut out all the pieces. Next I began the annoying and somewhat time, consuming job of gluing all the pieces together.,Now I had my ball but it didn't feel quite round enough for me,so I stuffed it with an exercise ball and pumped it up. I wrapped the whole, thing in cling wrap and used packing tape wherever there was a seam on the, ball. I then used my heat gun to soften the foam so that it would take the form,of the exercise ball. I had to be very careful to keep the heat gun moving so I,wouldn't melt the cling wrap. Then I left it overnight to cool. Good night ball. In,the morning I woke up bright and early to make sure it was still okay and it,was. I wanted to be absolutely sure that the foam had heated up enough to keep, its shape so I decided to give it a hot bath. I was having a little bit of,trouble holding it where I wanted it in the water so I got in too.,For a quick cool down I just tossed my ball out into Canada. Once cool I,unwrapped it, deflated the exercise ball, and marvelled at its symmetry and beauty.,I then measured and cut some four centimeter wide strips from two, millimeter foam and used them to cover all the seams on the ball.,I made a tube of foam that would sit on my head. And then also heat from my head, can escape out the top like a chimney. And cut a hole the same size at the top,of the ball. Insert the tube which is now a lot longer than it was a second ago,and measure it to get the right height.,>This is the top opening, see >Oh that's the top! Yeah yeah,>but it's a hole so it's like a hat, so it's like, you put it on and,I just gotta figure out where I want this to sit,Is that the right farness down or should it be down a little further?,>I feel like it should be down a little further >Like there?,>Cuz then it will move with my head >That's so good,>What do you think? About there? >It's great,Of course I needed to be able to see so I cut some holes, holes in the shape of a,diamond, and what goes better with diamonds then swirls. I traced my swirls, onto the foam and then followed the lines with my glue gun, creating a nice, raised line. You'll notice I'm holding the tip of the glue gun about a,centimeter away from the foam and letting the glue just fall onto the line.,I have the glue gun set at a fairly low temperature so the glue doesn't get,too thin. This does take a fair bit of practice but it's a handy effect to be,able to do. I used the back of a pen to make some fake rivets and the top from a,bottle to create a ridged texture on a strip of foam. I just heated the foam, first and then rolled the top over it, cut a nice scalloped edge with some, scissors and glued it around the top. I added the hangy thing and then it was, time to paint. I set up my basement paint booth remembering to remove all, dinosaurs from under the plastic, pulled out my trusty Finish Max Super which, was given to me by Homeright - thanks Homeright - and sprayed the whole thing, black. Then I got out my air brush and painted all the panels red.,I used my airbrush with black to go over all the swirls to give them a nice, shadow, repainted the black on the strips and went over all the swirls with my,metallic paint. Sometimes I accidentally got metallic paint on the red part but, that can be fixed with a wet paintbrush. I also used my metallic paint to paint, some squares of window screen which I then glued inside the diamonds to make,it a little harder to see the person inside. Did I mention this is super awkward?,The last thing I did was give it a nice shiny clear coat and it was ready to go.,Okay well that's it, the Christmas tree ornament ball head thing is complete. It's fabulous!,I'm super happy with how it turned out. I did it in three days which is probably a speed record, for me. I've never seen an ornament like this on anyone's head before in my life.,Really this is kind of like a proof of concept of a whole bunch of other things, you could make cuz anything that's round you could make a giant thing that goes,on your head, like the Death Star. You could have a Death Star head, a baseball, head, a ping-pong ball head, bowling ball head, golf ball head, basketball head,,billiard ball head, beach ball head, squash ball, racquetball, tennis ball...the,possibilities are endless. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed yourself.,See ya

THANK YOU, NEXT INSPIRED DIY SANTA OUTFIT

THANK YOU, NEXT INSPIRED DIY SANTA OUTFIT

hey guys welcome back to my channel and,if you are new around here my name is,Caitlin and for today's video we are, gonna be attempting to create the Thank,You next inspired cute little Christmas, costume the one that she used in her, music video of the Mean Girls scene as,some of you may know I really like, ariana grande and I was like so sad that,I wasn't able to go to her concert her, local concert that was you know going, around around where I live I spent time, listening to her music and like watching, the videos and then I saw that video, novice like oh my gosh I should totally, try to make that even life honestly, never made anything like that out of,scratch or out of fabric but yeah so I'm,gonna attempt to make that costume and, yeah we're either gonna fail or we're,gonna be really successful because it,looks kind of easy and also I'm gonna be,using just a glue gun such a stick glue, the fabric everything else and yet, enough chitchat let's get straight to,the video now let's start off with what, you will need first I have a measuring, tape and I use this just to measure like,my body to get the exact measurements or,like the approximate measurements for my,outfit next for the little furry part,I'm gonna be using these feather boas, that I got at Hobby Lobby you can, probably also find it at Michael's next,I got this ribbon it's so pretty you, guys it's more like the belt looking, part of the outfit I don't know if you, guys have seen it but she wears, something like this and I got this one,at Michaels for the actual fabric I,couldn't find the exact one that she, uses or something similar but I did kind,of want to make it my own so I grabbed, this fabric it's like a more velvet and,it's not as red as the one that she uses, that's okay I'm kind of excited to use, this one it's kind of personal, preference so it's up to whoever's great,in the costume, thank you know we're gonna try to work, with this it's not stretchy either so,we'll see how this goes and then I will,be attaching some of this I'm not gonna,be sewing anything so I just want to you, know cut the skirt and then glue this, onto the fabric just so I can like, clothes and stuff and then the most, important part the glue gun look how, cute this it's a little pink glue gun,the I got this at Michael's is look you,can find a glue gun pretty much anywhere,I think like Target Michaels Hobby Lobby, but yeah I think that's pretty much it,oh and I almost forgot I want this skirt,to be like fluffy and all that so I got,her tutu and I'm just gonna be using, this on the bottom so you're not gonna,be able to see it shout out to one of my,friends for getting me this now that you, know all this stuff that we need let's,move on to the actual DIY first thing I,did was I wrote down my measurements on,a piece of paper just so I can go back, and yeah and just look at my,measurements so first thing I measured, was like this strap because I'm gonna, try to like make the strap so I just, honestly went like this and I held it,right here and then I held it in the, back and yeah that's pretty much how big,my strap is gonna be and then I'm gonna, make two of those the second thing I did,was I measured my wrist area is that, what it's called,my boost oh yeah you kind of just like, gory here that's gonna be for the tube, top that I'm gonna be creating and then,as for the skirt I measured my waist and, then I measured how long I wanted that,we're done getting the measurements for, everything we are going to start I'm,kind of nervous because I don't know I'm,just nervous because I want it to look, good, every time I make something I like I do,something I always have high, expectations for some reason but yeah, let's get to it is gonna fold the fabric,in half next you're just gonna like fold,it this way,so this is your fabric first of all I'm,gonna turn it hold it this way so where,to where you have like a little folded, area right here like foods are too cool, now there's like two folded parts you,can picture it this is gonna we're gonna, take it right here and then we're gonna, cut it right here you're gonna open it,up and this is gonna be the skirt just, pull this I can lick the same next we're,gonna be cutting the length how long we,want this skirt this again is personal, preference, this is how it should look a little, skirt I think I did cut it too much on,the top and I'm gonna go ahead and put, like velcro and stuff on it so I think,it'll be fine like I'm gonna cut it open, and then put it all together but yeah, that's the skirt you guys it's going to,be 34 inches I'm just gonna go ahead and,cut it from this side all the way to the, other side of the fabric we're gonna do,the straps now all right strats check, what I'm gonna do is I'm going to try to,like cut out two triangles one right, here and then one right here and then, gloom together,so now that we have everything else cut, let's go ahead and start gluing, everything together so I'm gonna add, some right here real quick,so now this part I'm gonna add some here, and then I'm just gonna go on and glue,it like this you guys I look like a,freaking conehead like you pulled it,down alright so the Hat might be a no-go,just because it looks kind of funny but, actually adding like the feather bowing,on that we'll see what's up but for now,hat is an over here's the actual skirt, now I'm just gonna cut the velcro and,I'm gonna put a strip right here and, right here,so I measured that,so we're just gonna add this to one side, top is done I pretty much just did the, same thing I did to the skirt and then, that way when you put it on all right, now the straps here both the straps and,I kind of just want to add a layer and, then fold it over I pretty much just, added like glue to the center and folded,it down and now I'm just going to add, glue to like the center again and fold, the other part down here's the strap now,I'm just gonna do this one and I'll be,right okay guys so I went ahead and just, glued on the straps pretty much just, glue it in the back on both sides that's,how it looks it looks like a crazy mess,in the back but in the front it looks, clean and next we're gonna be adding the, feather boa to the top part, there is the top part oh my god, actually it looks pretty good I finished, off the skirt it honestly look oh my,gosh it looks like one of those tree, things you know that the ones you put, under the tree, yeah it honestly looks super cute you, guys and yeah so now that I have this, skirt I'm just gonna go ahead and add,the belt looking ribbon and I'm just, gonna glue it around the rim of the top,of the skirt,I'm gonna do the same process that I've,been doing for the rest of the stuff I'm,gonna somehow create a little ball glue,it together and place it on there so I,wanted to create a little bag so,literally what I did was I cut out this, little shape two of them and I'm just, gonna glue the edges I'm gonna glue the, edges I'm gonna glue this on top of the, front of the bag and then I'm gonna use, this as a strap it's gonna be like one,of those little cute, want to be do your bags alright guys so,after almost I think it was like three,or four hours of doing this you guys are, gonna get a shorter version with the, video obviously but oh my gosh I am,finally finished and honestly you guys,it doesn't look that bad like I'm,actually really proud of myself I How To Make A Cardboard Santa Suit | DIY Christmas Costume Party Ideas on Box Yourself

How To Make A Cardboard Santa Suit | DIY Christmas Costume Party Ideas on Box Yourself

hi everybody,do you have a Santa suit back home you, know one of those that you put on and, then you're walking around pretending, you're Santa and stuff well if you don't,come with me I'm gonna show you how to,make one here I am good together, cubes big boxes you see here one and two, there is a hole in one end and I'm cut, hole all the way through and then, there's a small hole at the other end,for my head so now that we put the suit,on,hey-ho that's why it's gonna look like,it fits my head perfectly so this is the, starting point and then what add all the, arms so blue yarn stick it on here like, this putting on a bit of tape sites they, say while it dries then the other side, belt,I'll put along the middle between the,two boxes so you cover up that black, stuff it on and then fold it around like, that I need some tape to tape it on as,well, then I turn it and then add some more, here pretty stuff at the end, wavy lines yeah okay I'm just gonna cut, that Oh beautiful beautiful so long, that's around the corner war blue white, you know stuff around the lower who the, arms here as well take that all now my,next move is to add all the beer so I,start with a cleared up here sort of,maybe a bit bigger coming out this way, around this corner, yeah like that, and now a bit of cutting first the mouth, yeah nice one and then the nose they're,pulling it out of it yeah and then I,make some hands look at this, that's the one hand with the thumb and,the other hand the thumb so I'm going to,glue them on now hold it like this on,here and then sticking it on oh there, they are, yeah and then the thumb there now you,got a hand and the other one beautiful, and then ready to paint starting with, the beard and white surprise next color,is Santa red,and then dirty lips and then the belt, here I have made something really cool I,have taken two pieces of cardboard cut,one like this one like this then I,painted them like this when you put this,on top of this one and then add this one,you get a belt buckle so now let me glue, this together like this and some glue on,the back and on it goes maybe a little, piece of tape to make sure that it,sticks then I've cut three circles out,of cardboard and painted them black on,the other side those will be buttons so,I put a dollop of glue and then stick, them on one here one here and the last, one down here or beautiful beautiful,Santa next the teeth because if you look, inside the hole of the mouth you know he,looks and the toothless so if I take, this I have now added some cardboard on,the back so I can use these as a handle, and then when I stick this in notice, what happens you see this is the way to,make the Santa appear as if he's talking,or and smiling okay check this out these, two I can put on the inside down here in,here see if this is on either side and, then the teeth will glide up and down, and then this bit of cardboard will come,at the end to stop it from falling down,so I'm not going to glue this, contraption inside the Santa,it'll be very hard to show you how I,actually do this because you can't see, anything inside and neither can i I can,see a little bit and I go around here, this is really tricky because this thing,is keep falling down oh yeah I gotta put, more glue on there works like a dream,ho ho and OH,now I'm gonna put on the fairy stuff, around the hole you see I found this, fairy bits that I cut out of an old,Santa hat then I'm putting glue all, around here and the reason for doing, this is so that the edges here are not,so sharp against my head so that I don't,cut myself so I start over here by the, nose just gently adding it around and, then what I've come to the end here I,need to cut it clear making sure I got, enough glue there and then wrap it,around are you ready to try it on,well here we go Oh Christmas

How to make Christmas Elf Costume for Kids - DIY

How to make Christmas Elf Costume for Kids - DIY

so it's three days before Christmas and,you know I'm still trying to work out,and do all these things to create,Christmas magic for my boys when they, wake up on Christmas Day and last minute, they decided that they wanted elf, costumes for Christmas so I had to,oblige and I began putting together a,pattern I don't really know how to sew, very well I not a expert at all and I,wanted to just share a quick tutorial, and how to make it happen well this is,two of the completed costumes of,costumes this is for Logan the oldest, and then this is for Blake my three room, and I interchanged the colors I actually, went to Joanne's and they had this, fleece fabric on sale which was perfect, and I bought a yard of each and it was, enough for everything and I'm just gonna, walk you through because I'm gonna make, one for the baby of what I did to come,up with creating this costume for them,so basically I took a t-shirt,and I made the pattern from the t-shirt,so I just did like a little inch seam, allowance,I just folded it up to create the fringe, and I use pen but this all you won't see,it because this will be the inside part, and this is basically my pattern and, then the other piece I'm just gonna cut,it from there might shut up as best as I,can,it doesn't have to be perfect and again,it has pen marks but you won't see this, because this will be the part on the, inside and now I'm gonna create the, collar with the fringe and then just a,little simple belt alright so for the, fringe the little collar part just take, the fabric and just stretch it out a,little bit so that it can open the neck, area I just want it to stretch it out so,it could be a little stretchy for them,to fit their heads through I'm just, gonna do kind of the same thing just, eyeballing it just trying to create a,little bit of a collar and for the baby,I'm doing it white cuz I want them to,all be a little bit different just place,it right there and I kind of figure that,it's like a semicircle and kind of draw, the circle out and I'm not an expert I'm,just a mommy with a mission, now I'm going to get to sewing so what,I'm gonna do is this is the back side, and this is the front so going to place, this here but not check it up so it's,gonna end up looking like that I'm gonna,go and sew this part first and if you, don't have a sewing machine you can, actually go to this or even use that, really heavy duty double stick tape, the color is Sony and now we're gonna do,the second so see now you have the two, paths I'm not an expert you know, seamstress I taught myself from YouTube, videos and just tutorials that I would, find but now I'm going to sew the side,so what I do is you're gonna face them, together make sure everything lines up,and just started, and that's it and all I'm gonna do is,cut a little bit of fabric so that I can, create a green belt for it so to create,a little belt and you can also glue the, belt on this portion and leave it loose,in the back that's really how I did it,just take a little bit of black belt and,I'm gonna do the belt in green, and again you can either glue it or just,do like a little stitch right here so,that it can stay in place and then when, you turn it you just tie it so I can, give them a little bit of a grab and, that's basically it,it's done it was quick didn't take much, time again if you don't have a sewing, machine you can use a blue or stick, sticky tape double-sided tape and I just, like did one little scheme in the,in-between for the buckle and and there, you have it now my little elves have, their little elf costumes ready for,Christmas if you like this tutorial, please hit the like button and always, please stop by that simply me Francine, calm
