hey guys welcome back to HGTV handmade,with me Maryanne and my friend Danielle,hey guys so Danielle here was invited to,a fancy Halloween party out of town I,was yes Halloween's one of my favorite,holidays and I'm really excited to go to,a party out of town this year but kind,of short notice and if you don't have a,costume I don't it's about a week away,so I'm really looking for something,inexpensive it's gonna be quick I think,you can help me out I totally can help,you so what you don't know about,Danielle is she's the cactus queen she,has cactus and succulents all over her,apartment yes I love them if I could be,a cactus for Halloween that would be a,dream so that's what we're gonna do I'm,gonna show you guys how to make a super,easy,cactus costume that you can put together,and about 20 minutes here's what you'll,need if you want to make your own cactus,costume green pipe cleaners hot glue gun,scissors a green dress or t-shirt pink,tissue paper elastic and yellow pipe,cleaners okay they can yell so the first,thing we need to do is trim our pipe,cleaners these are going to be our,little cactus needles you know keep,anyone from dancing too close to you so,the perfect length for these is trim,about an inch and a half off the end of,a pipe cleaner and then cut it in half,then you simply bend them into a little,v-shape and that's gonna make our cactus,needles easy enough and so I'm assuming,that you only put these on the front,well yes if you plan on who's sitting or,driving or you know anything like that I,recommend putting the needles on the,front only all right so we have all our,needles made it's time to attach them to,your dress great first you want to put,something like paper or a piece of,cardboard in between the dress so you,don't glue the whole,and you know just keep in mind as you're,gluing around the dress to keep moving,your paper around so just put a generous,dot of hot glue and I guess there's,really no specific way you have to a,place you know I think the more random,the better really I love it because it's,just I mean it's just wearing a dress,you're not uncomfortable or anything,like that and then once we finish this,we're going to make a paper flower to go,oh on your head cuz you're a flowering,cactus yes my favorite kind of cactus as,you go along and the glue starts to dry,a little bit more go ahead and go,through and kind of stand up so when it,dries completely they are standing at,attention alright Danielle our cactus is,looking oh this looks great optically oh,I love it it really I mean they've kind,of hurt gosh can I wear this just every,day you might get some looks but I don't,just Halloween person I would like to,see that okay but this is not all like I,said we're also going to make a little,desert flower for your hair to make our,desert flower you've grabbed about six,pieces of hot pink tissue paper and I,went ahead and cut them in half so this,is these are half sheets of tissue these,flowers are actually really similar to,the paper marigolds that Mary made,recently on the channel so you guys,should definitely go check that video,out to lay that out and then just do a,simple accordion fold,and just give it and smooth it down and,make sure all your creases are nice and,folded and now we're going to grab one,of our yellow pipe cleaners so we're,just gonna put that around and twist it,okay once you have it tied around then,you just grab layers of tissue look at,that,hold them up and you just kind of fluff,each one and paper flowers I can do that,yes it's really this is easy okay just,make sure all your layers are separated,and it's all lift at my gosh and our,finishing touch is to grab a few more of,our yellow pipe cleaners and just kind,of stick them down in there and twist,them to your other one our next step is,to take a piece of elastic we've already,kind of measured this around your head,for size,we're just gonna give that whole knot,you could also try attaching this to a,hair clip if you wanted to clip it then,but I find that the elastic helps it,really stay put so just give that simple,knot take the pipe cleaner oh so easy,yep interesting place so you know that,we were required so pretty so cute all,right guys I don't know about you but I,am ready to see the finished result,Danielle I love it oh my gosh oh it's so,perfect I think the flowers my favorite,part I think I love it it's adorable,give everybody your best cactus okay I'm,gonna try wait oh my gosh it's perfect,it's for no really I can't even like get,a girl,it's very prickly well guys I want to,hear from you what you're dressing up as,for Halloween maybe maybe you're gonna,be a cactus you'd be a succulent garden,bring all your friends everyone dress up,as a cactus you could be a succulent,garden what's cuter than that,thank you so much for your help it's,gonna be perfect I hope you have fun at,your party thank you let us know in the,comments below what you're dressing up,as this year happy Halloween

hi guys welcome to craft some kids,schools this month are celebrating you,and all,and as usual kids are showcasing various,questions of the countries they,represent they send a percentage,Srilanka check the description box for,the link of how I made his classroom so,in this video I'll be showing how I made,my daughter's lettuce flower back piece,for costume accessories to start with,get a pattern paper and make a little,flower in just one cuts for the pattern,paper three times like this I use this,Christmas decor as a pattern for it,better trace then cuts open up the,flower pattern and lay it on top of a,cardboard put some weight to the pattern,won't move even a bit while you trace,next carefully cut the cardboard,following the trace of the flower,I'm using an empty box that is not big,enough for the flower so there is this,part of that ball that is floppy so to,fix that insert a skewer or any stick in,between the cardboard layers,next try it and my daughter's know where,it should be at the back and mark the,areas near the shoulders because that is,where the elastic bands will be trace,the flour cardboard twice resulted,fabric then cuts the one that we cut,without any lavas on the sides will be,for the back part of the cardboard by,the way I chose to make a little smug,piece because it is as involved flower,of Buddhism my daughter is representing,Cambodia and it is one of the countries,which religion is producing next glue,the other flowers a thin fabric on the,front side of the cardboard I am using,this basic style industrial glue which,is very efficient for me in costume,making,got the covered cardboard low give you,an inch allowance of fabric enough to,fall through the backside and cover the,edges cut several notches for the curved,parts,you just cover with the fabric at the,other side yet with a varsity made,earlier carefully poke them down to make,holes insert the elastic bands through,the holes,then manually through the ends together,at the back with a zig-zag stitch try it,all to check the feeds,next cover the backside of a cardboard,with the subpoena fabric,there's the partial loop of undo this,flower back please,at the front it will be up to you how to,decorate it before me I chose to use,this Christmas the course the golden,leaves place them around the lotus,flower back piece in a way that the,points are alternately arranged cut the,excess stems and do the space of the,leaves and the cardboard then put some,glue to where the leaves feed as well,so avoid reading my daughter's back they,make use of this leak valve cloth cut to,the desired shape enough to cover the,leaves then wrap with the same setting,fabric to make it not noticeable glue it,on top of all the golden leaves working,a bit on the sides for the elastic bands,to come through because I can't find a,nude color elastic bands i spray-painted,it with gold and I rev it the whole cost,of a daughter's you know the lotus,flower back piece respect for her,headdress the chipped up the higher the,circle skirt and it's petticoat,underneath you see creativity is,experimenting breaking loose making,mistakes and having fun,so enjoy the process the footwear in,this photo shoot is a pair of self,issues but in the final event is already,using the gold one to match the question,know how I made the rest of us please,hit the subscribe button and hope to see,you again in the next future thank you,for watching

ciao amici let's make a fun,easy last minute halloween costume,for this project we are using,a bolt of ollie fun fabric in lemon drop,isn't that a fun name for a fun color,i'm also using some green ollie fun,this is a roll of clear,wrap,i got this at the dollar store,a headband,a chenille stem,and a green t-shirt,let's get started i have cut,four,30 inch squares and now i'm going to cut,those down into 15 inch squares so i,will have eight 15 inch squares total,i've got my eight squares,i'm going to work two at a time,fold it in half,and then fold it into thirds,and i didn't cut it real evenly so it's,okay,now this is my folded edge,i want to cut a petal shape,out of this,i don't want to cut my folded edge there,you'll understand why in a second,so let's start at the top,just round it a little bit,now that the petals are cut,we're going to cinch it all together,i like to do a back and forth fold like,this,it's kind of like you're making a pin,if you saw my truffula trees tutorial,it's the same thing that we did there,just with a different shape this time,all right,so we've got this all bunched up can you,kind of see the flower taking shape,twist that really tight,and now,we'll start fluffing up our petals,one layer at a time,excuse my nail,i lost that nail polish in a hot glue,accident,oh looking cute already isn't it,it's nice and cheery,maybe a yellow carnation,you can separate the petals out a little,give it some more,dimension just pull them in different,directions,all we have to do to attach this to our,headband,let's twist these on,now let's add some leaves to it,do,so,i'll grab some fabric glue,and glue the leaf to the base like that,while i wait for my fabric to dry,i take some of the leaves to make a,collar,i'm going to cut,my elastic wrap,i'm gonna measure it so it fits all the,way around me and then i'm gonna cut arm,holes to make it like a little jacket,happy halloween

to make my pattern I'm gonna be using a,dress that fits my little girl but feel,free to use a shirt and then just,lengthen it to the length you need I'm,adding my seam allowance and then adding,about two inches to the side and then,I'm going to add three inches to the,bottom once that's done I'm going to cut,two slits up it about Midway,ever gonna redraw this pattern spacing,out those cuts one and a half inches,apart once it's done I'm just gonna take,it off and cut out my new pattern now,I'm just drawing a line from the bottom,armpit all the way across for my back,pattern putting my pattern on the fold,I'm gonna cut out my front,then fold that back piece down place it,on the fold and cut out my back piece,now we're going to take our front and,back put them right sides facing and sew,down the side seams on the bottom of the,dress I'm going to mark out three lines,that are three inches apart and this is,going to be where the petals are going,to be sewed on later so I'm just gonna,mark three-inch lines all the way around,the dress using that top line as a guide,take your pattern piece and then trace,out that line on your pattern piece,and you're gonna be marking my onto a,new piece of fabric that's going to be,sewn over your share material,and I cut it out three inches longer at,the bottom so it'll look like this then,you need to cut out a back one,and then trim off the top now draw a,3-inch line at the bottom of both of,these pieces,and I'm gonna pin the fabric together so,that I don't move around taking pinking,shears I'm gonna go ahead and go in and,cut triangles,so it looks like this,and put those aside you're gonna need to,make bias tape now measure the straps on,the dress if you're not using a dress,that already has straps on it and go,ahead and measure your daughter or,whoever you're making it for shoulder to,see how long your straps need to be mine,was nine and a half inches I'm going to,take the bias tape and put it right,sides touching making sure that it's all,the way open and pin it along the top of,the dress,and then so that,then you fold it down to the back pin in,place and then sew again,measure out your strap limp mark it with,a pin take it to the dress and start,pinning where you've marked it with a,pin right sides touching all the way,around,if you happen to run on a bias tape all,you do is take another strand put it,right sides touching so a little line,diagonally trim the excess and then keep,on going once you get back to the top,all you do is take your measurement up,you strap again and cut it,now sew it on,and then you're gonna do the same thing,flip it over and you're gonna sew all,the way down and around,I'm gonna sew my straps down for inches,away from each side so I'm just gonna,measure four inches on both sides put my,straps there and sell them on,now coming back to this we're gonna sew,down the side seams and then now we need,to make our pattern for a petal you just,measure how long you want the petal to,be I'm making mine four inches wide by,11 inches long,then we're going to cut out a whole,bunch of petals with felt now that you,have your petals done you're going to,take wire and measure it so that it fits,inside your petal like so and then,you're going to cut a bunch of pieces of,wire once you do that you're gonna start,hot gluing the wire onto one petal,and ones it's hot food you're gonna take,a another petal and hot glue it right on,top make sure you leave about an inch at,the top so that you can sew the petals,on now taking the dress and the petals,right sides touching with the petals,facing up we're going to sew the petals,on all the way around I'm sewing the,petals on the bottom line and then the,top line we made skipping the middle it,started to get hard to sew it on my,machine because of all the wired petals,so I decided to hot glue the second,layer in between each of the petals,and now this is what it looks like and,all we have left to do is the top and,all you do is top stitch it on all the,way around the top and I decided I,wanted sleeve since Halloween's gonna be,a little bit chilly so I just marked my,armhole like this and then drew out my,sleeve,to make this outfit more fuller at the,bottom I recommend you making a tutu and,then you just curl up the petals and,that is it,if you liked this video then please give,it a big thumbs up and if you like my,channel then please subscribe I'd love,to have you thank you guys so so much,for watching and I hope you have a,wonderful day

censored by aloe vera,hi welcome to my channel i'm mint and a,while ago i made this,hat,and i love how it turned out a lot of,people asked how i made it and it was,really fun so i decided to put together,another whole hat,and make a tutorial on how i did it,bonus,now i have two hats some joanne's,vlogging to grab the materials we'll,need,pumpkin time it's pumpkins,summer autumn summer,bottom 41 pieces,and one kit oh they're counting every,single rubber band as a piece,this is probably the hardest to find or,most specific material we'll need,just some kind of fabric stiffener to,make the curly shape at the petals,all right let's get down to talking,about making,our pattern you'll need two measurements,across the head,and how long you want each petal to be,okay the measurement of where a hat,would sit comfortably on my forehead was,22 and a half,inches but if you plan on wearing this,hat with a wig,add an inch because a wig will add a lot,of bulk to,your head and it will be too tight on,your regular head,then however many petals you want i made,this,little hat with seven petals so i,divided the,measurement that i had by seven and i,got three point two inches and then when,i,went to make a pattern i added one more,inch to that,just for seams shape allowance,um better too big than too small the,other measurement you'll need is how,long you want each petal to be when,you're actually making the hat,you'll need to make the petals longer,than just from the top of your head or,the top of where you want your hat to be,to that line of where the hat will sit,the purple,is what you'll add on one side so the,widest part of each petal is the,measurement for your head,and then you can make the excess,at the edge side whatever fun petal,shape you want you can go wild,a good way to test is to make them out,of paper you can make little models and,see how they look all in a flower you,could draw inspiration from a real,flower,that's actually in your garden and then,you'll need to make the whole thing,symmetrical like this but the easiest,way to do that drafting a pattern is,probably just to,cut physical paper in half there's my,pattern,this hat is going to be a little smaller,than the blue one i made,obviously next step is to cut out,however many petals you'll need,this is why this is a good craft for,budget friendly materials i'm just going,to use,acrylic paint to color the petals on,this flower,i want to make one with wool and dye,i'll do it eventually but for these,first two acrylic paint is just fine,it's really satisfying to make a,gradient along the edge of the flower,from one color to the next this color,shift has this really nice marigold,to mango to yellow,is drying we will make the calyx at the,top,i'm using green wool roving for this,if you haven't ever used needle felting,wool before etsy is a great place to,source it,this is floral wire that i use to make,the stem,of each hat i'm double wrapping it for,strength,now i'm going to mix a few different,shades i'm mixing them just by pulling,them,and kind of combing the fibers together,the great thing about it is that we're,going to reshape it all together so the,colors will be beautifully blended,but still keep some of that natural,variation,i'm not over mixing it to look,completely blended in,the short pieces of wool roving i'll,just corkscrew wrap,around the floral wire and then i'm,needle felting it in place and the hooks,and the needle,tangle the wool enough so that it will,stay where it's,poked more poking more tangling,a sturdier firmer project,now this is all done and together you,can see how the wire really,bends and curls easily and i can change,it however i need to,and i'll make the calyx,i'm forming this mostly the same way,grab a tuft of roving,shape and stab and shape and stab it's a,lot of,poking and tangling the wool until it's,the shape that i want it to be,i've sped this up because it would be,really boring to watch this real time,i'm using five little pieces,color variation you're seeing there is,where i used one shade of green,um a little more thickly just to bulk up,each shape,our petals are dry and ready to pin into,the shape of the flower,i'm just gonna pin along each side all,the way around,there are seven petals in total on this,flower,for the oh oh you know what for this one,i'm doing,wrong sides together insides together,this does have visible seams just,because i like the way they,look in the finished product,usually when you're sewing you would do,right sides together i've pinned,everything here,wrong side together and this is a really,good stage to get a general idea,of the size and shape and overall,look that your hat will be you can make,adjustments if you need to you can add,petals you can remove them,um you can change the shape of the tips,anything goes at this point oh yeah that,was when i was talking about the,seams on the outside and,sewing them is next um,it's really hard for me to hold my,camera and so,don't cringe at me if this is super,weird footage,i'm just sewing along all of the shapes,we pinned it is really weird and bulky,right there at the sewing machine,and now i'm going to trim off all of the,loose threads and i'll trim,as close to the seam as i can get,i don't want a bulky seam allowance,i'm trimming it right up to where i,think that it will be most,secure and aren't my scissors cute my,scissors,are a unicorn that is magicking away,that extra seam,to leave it nice and flush and beautiful,um uh,the raw felt color that's revealed by,the seams,when you trim them i just put a really,quick,bit of extra orange paint,on those seams just so they match the,rest of the petal,instead of just instead of standing out,a lot as,unpainted regular felt,to shape the hat this is probably the,most experimental part of this um,i just used a bucket i used a bucket,and i used this stiffener stuff that we,bought back at joann's,i mixed it with water not all stiffeners,will need that but this one works really,well that way,and now i'm painting it on every single,petal rotating it as i go,and curling them with my hands to,get them the shape i want there's the,inside so far,here's what the inside looks like,it's kind of shaped,it's wet,oh well hi i'll go all the way around,every,single petal and oh,bird spotted,now i'm using this larger bucket to,kind of just to hold and make sure that,the petals actually dry bent and curled,instead of relaxing on their own,all right it's raining this morning so,i'm glad i pulled it out of the door,we'll pull it out,that's pretty cute,that's pretty cute i decided to make a,little leaf to go up by the calyx,and i just felt it together a quick flat,leaf and,decided to add these details on my,sewing machine,it was a million threads to trim,afterwards but i think the leaf did turn,out really cute and it's a nice detail,now let's put together all of the pieces,into the final hat,this white stuff is core roving,it's a kind of wool rubbing that's just,thicker and sturdier and i'm gonna use,it to anchor the stem,i've attached a bunch of it to the base,of the stem and i put the stem through,the hole i'm so sorry this is mostly off,camera i set up my tripod while i did,this and then,um you get mostly,cat footage instead of what i'm needling,in place,i'm adding a little roving to cover any,gaps,and felting a lot in there,i'm really really taking my time to,needle felt it all down and make sure,it's sturdy the more tangled that wool,is,the longer this will last all together,and now finally i am adding that little,leaf,i'm working hard to needle it all,together to make it fit as snugly and,firmly as possible,i originally made the leaf for the other,hat so the colors of green you probably,noticed,match this hat better but um i think,it's so cute here,and then it's all finished so here it is,all together,i didn't really have a flower in mind,making this i thought,sunflower shaped petals and then uh,whichever little heart-shaped leaf,and i think it doesn't really matter,because people know what it is it's kind,of pumpkiny like when i look at it now,it's kind of,maybe it's this shade of green with this,bright orange it looks pumpkiny to me,it's very cute and i love the way you,can,curl and adjust this however you please,i might re-stiffen the pedals a little,bit just for weather durability but i,think this turned out very,very very cute and i like the seven,petal pattern,as always if you'd like to support the,content i make the best way to do so,is to go to hi everyone damsel in DIY here we are so,excited to talk to you about our flower,dresses so we create these really fun,imposable flower dresses but they all,have individual petals if they're,wonderful everything is like hand dyed,crafted and just it's amazing every,single one that you make is unique yep,I started making them about four years,ago and the very first one I made was,for a shoot out of the coast and it just,happened to be that during that shoot I,proposed to my now husband Sean it was a,dog that one was a full sized flower,dress and this is when I was first,experimenting with these dresses and I,did not wear the petals for this one I,actually molded them over pounds of,fabric and plastic to try and give them,a petal shape but since then I had,learned to hook the wire into the,dresses so that you can actually make,them poseable and pretty adjustable and,then when I first made those dresses I,did a photoshoot with Elise that's and,it was actually one of our first times,really working together so things are,kind of special to us they are they're,so special and obsessive they're,wonderful and for the one that she made,for me all those years ago,my it was a shorter one which was,fantastic because that way it was like a,smaller,rosianna was really really great with,the adjustable pedals because you could,just make it look so unique and so since,then Elise helped me work on three other,flower dresses this summer which need a,couple of adjustments we found out the,wiring we were using for those wasn't,quite as strong so we're gonna be,putting some stiffer wire in those but,now we are also about to create three,more dresses three bull art and these,ones are going to be a dandelion dress a,peonies and a rose and I think we're,gonna do a darker shaded Rose because we,have a nice light pink colored rose and,we have a really cute kind of peach,orange so we're gonna add our red darker,color rose to that and that is the one,that we're going to be teaching you how,to make over the next course of videos,that's going to come out over the next,few months and you're going to see,little steps of the other two dresses,and creation as well but we're going to,be teaching you how to make the petals,or costume work that are plums alone,we're going to teach you how to make a,corset that can go over the top of your,petal skirt costume we're gonna teach,you how to make the petal skirt with,your petals we're also going to teach,you how to make fairy wings that fit,into your corset so that they'll be,strapless and we're also going to teach,you how to make the costumes really,decked out and wonderful at the end of,all of those processes it's gonna be,it's gonna be awesome and we're gonna go,step by step like cutting everything out,designing everything dyeing everything,so I'm just really excited about it you,know just to get in on this in a more,involved way to just like helping a,little bit yeah yeah she's going to be,doing a lot more on these dresses and,we're also gonna be teaching you,patterning so like everything you need,to know about fitting a corset to your,body and how to create the pattern,pieces and how to even adjust the,pattern pieces and we didn't fight,enough right so I really excited to show,this to you we are gonna have so much,fun making them and then also after,we're done making them we're gonna have,a ton of fun getting out there and doing,a bunch of photo shoots with these,dresses yeah yeah it's gonna be so much,fun and we cannot wait to share this,with you guys,yep so thank you so much again for,watching and we'll see you next time and,we'll be teaching you how to make pedals

hey friends welcome to social videos my,name is Joan and happy Halloween,Halloween season is upon us and today,I'm going to be showing you guys what,I'm gonna be dressing up as for,Halloween this year I'm actually going,with something pretty basic I'm gonna be,dressing up as a fairy and I want to,show you guys how I'm putting together,my costume and what the final look is,gonna be for my costume this year it's,going to be a mix of DIY stuff and stuff,I already have just something that's,pretty easy to put together but still,kind of innovative so not all of it's,going to be from scratch I do have a,dress I'm basing off of I'm gonna be,buying my wings but I am going to be,making a DIY flower crown and some DIY,jewelry to go with the costume also be,figuring out a makeup look and just,putting it all together in this video,feel free to let me know in the comments,what you guys are going to be for,Halloween it's always nice to kind of,see what people are dressing up for the,year and also get some ideas and with,that let's just get on with the video so,I'm first going to start off by making,my flower crown so here I've got some,dollar store bought fake flower hours,and some aluminum bendable wire also if,you need a description of materials,it'll be listed down below I'm also,going to be using a glue gun pliers and,scissors,and so for the wire I just got this at,my local craft store you kind of want,something that's easily bendable but not,easily breakable ideally I'm just going,to take it and wrap it around my head,and kind of measure how long I want my,flower crown to be so it fits perfectly,around my head,I'm just making sure that it sits nicely,on my head not too tight but not too,loose either and kind of making a Bend,where I'm going to cut the wire,next I'm just going to round the wire,just so it fits nicely around my head,almost in a perfect circle,and again I'm going to kind of Mark off,where the circle kind of closes on my,head and make sure that there's leftover,wire sticking out,and now we're going to move on to,attaching the fake flowers,so these I just got at my local dollar,store and I realized that cutting the,fake flowers was actually much harder,than I thought it was gonna be so I kind,of just resorted to my next plan which,was to tear them right off also the,flowers were pretty easy to just pull,off the stems so I kind of use both,methods,turns out that pulling the flowers with,their stem seems like a good idea since,I could actually use the wire to wrap it,around my flower crown,so as you see here I'm just kind of,looping it around the wire that I have,and just making sure that it's bending,and staying close to the wire as,possible,and I'm just gonna inter weave the two,flower colors that I have and kind of,wrap them once again just around the,wire,make sure I like how it looks so far I'm,just gonna try it on and just make sure,where any blank spots are I'm gonna put,flowers to kind of replace that my goal,is to not really see the wire when I'm,done with the flower crown and I'm just,going to use my pliers to help Bend and,wrap the wire stems around,I'm just gonna keep doing this all the,way around the flower crown I thought it,was a bit easier to First curl these,stems and then slowly weave them onto,the flower crown it just helped keep,everything in place,and I basically did that with all the,flowers that had stems,I'm pretty good so far obviously there's,still that front section and I'm also,going to just use some hot glue to kind,of glue down the flowers so that they're,not kind of pointing in Wild directions,and just making sure that they stick on,the flower crown properly and then to,fill in the blank Spots I'm going to,start gluing on the flowers that I,pulled off with no stem and basically,just attach those onto the flower crown,as well,thank you,once I'm happy with the flower placement,I'm going to take the ends that are,still sticking out out of the original,flower crown wire and just wrap it,around the stems and the rest of the,wire to make a perfect circle,and Moment of Truth there you have it,that's the flower crown done,next up I wanted to make some,accessories to go with my costume and I,saw this on Tick Tock and I decided to,try it they're basically these paper,clip rings that I feel like are pretty,easy to make so let's give it a shot,I have these rose gold paper clips I'm,just going to take one of the normal,sized ones unfold it and again using,pliers if I need help on bending it the,first ring I'm gonna make is gonna have,loops on either end so I'm going to take,the end of the wire with my pliers and,kind of loop the wire around the end of,the pliers to make a loop and I'm going,to do that to both ends of the wire,swirling or looping in different,directions,and so you could just use your hand to,bend it around your finger but I also,used a marker just to make it easier,and that right there is the first ring,done,next I'm gonna try to make a ring with,heart shapes,and so first I'm just going to,straighten out the wire just to make it,easier to handle and work out the Kinks,from the original paper clip shape and,start making a heart shape with one end,of the paper clip,to do this you can either use your,fingers or just the pliers to kind of,make the two top curves of the heart so,that the last end of the wire or the end,of the heart points downwards towards,the other end,try to make the curves of your heart as,even as you can and I'm going to do the,same thing to the other side,once again I'm just going to use a,marker to make the shape around my,fingers,and there we have it the heart-shaped,paper clip rings,last but not least I'm going to take one,of the jumbo paper clips and kind of,make a swirly ring that kind of goes up,my finger so for this I'm again using,the marker and just kind of twisting,upwards in the spiral,with both ends sticking out I didn't,want it to poke into my fingers so I,just did the loop swirl method from the,first ring we made,and I just did that to both ends,also to help the Rings fit on my finger,I kind of molded it with the pliers,slash my hands while wearing it so that,it actually fit the size that I wanted,and with that we're basically done with,the paper clip rings,the last thing I'll have to make to,complete my costume is the makeup look,forget the fact that I look bald to,start off with I'm just going to do a,basic makeup routine so I'm just going,to start off with some primer get my,Foundation,foreign,do my brows,do some eyeliner,and then do my eyeshadow I kind of had,two ideas in mind which one was to match,it with the color of my dress which is,blue which is a scary color so I just,went with the colors that I had to kind,of do a natural shimmery look,and since I'm really bad at makeup I,honestly just use some micellar water to,kind of clean up my lines,and just to add to the shimmeriness I'm,gonna add some highlighter underneath my,eyes and kind of in the inner corners,and Wing area and now we get to the fun,part where I get to add glitter and,rhinestones to the basic makeup look so,I'm just going to use some eyelash glue,and to start off with the glitter I,don't really know what I'm doing but I'm,first going to start off with just,gluing where I want the glitter to go,and patting on the glitter with a brush,also I realized I forgot blush so just,adding that on I want a bit of a Rosy,natural look so just putting it all over,and continue with my glitter I wanted to,do these swirly elegant shapes so I'm,just drawing that out and doing the same,thing to both sides and patting on the,glitter with my fingers,and same with the blush I'm just not,being shy with the glitter at all,next I'm going to be using the,rhinestones that I got from the dollar,stores I'm going to be using these,silver ones and then this blue and green,one that matches with the color,aesthetic so this is where you can kind,of get creative to where you want your,gems to go and how you want to orient,everything I just kind of did what I was,feeling in the moment and I also got,inspiration just by searching up,rhinestone makeup looks,foreign,and to finish it off I'm just going to,use this kind of a color changing lip,balm that I have and then top it off,with some lip gloss,and last but not least we've got the,eyelashes now I'm scared of using,falsies but I do have this heroin,mascara that makes my Asian lashes,literally they're just literally the,best they make them look so volumized,and so lengthened this is not sponsored,but I just love it so much like look at,that difference that's crazy and with,that that's basically the makeup look,done paired with the flower crown I,think it's already a look and we're one,step closer to getting the costume put,together,okay now that I've got this whole makeup,situation done with I've got my flower,crown I've got some accessories so I'm,actually gonna put on some earrings as,well I've got these like Moonstone,earrings that I think would look really,nice and then of course the actual,costume which is this blue kind of,ruched dress that I have I actually got,this from cider which is in one of my,previous videos I wanted to wear this,for Halloween and then I made the Fairy,Costume around it because I think it's,just very fitting and I need an excuse,to wear this gorgeous thing so I'll be,putting this on,foreign,we're going to put on the accessories,the flower crown and also of course a,period can't be a very without its wings,so we'll also put that on as well,and last but not least is the flower,crown,honestly this is probably my best turned,out Halloween costume I've ever ever,done I mean I look like a fairy right we,got of course the paperclip accessories,we've got the How to make a DIY Flower Fairy Costume | 31 Days of Halloween
hi everyone i'm celeste and welcome to,my channel my channel is all about,cosplay,i teach you tutorials on how to make the,outfit how to do the makeup so you can,become the character of your dreams,but right now we're not talking about,that or are we we're actually doing the,31 days of halloween,and so we're actually finishing up today,is october 30th with a brand new,video and today's video is a flower,fairy,yeah we just mentioned it down below my,flower fairy is inspired by this design,here,i found this on pinterest i looked for,the artist,didn't say i also found another image,that i really liked so,this is another reference but feel free,to choose your own kind of flower fairy,and go,off of that amber show also did a fairy,costume on her channel,mine's going to be just a tiny bit,different mine's more of like,a nymph i didn't have a chance to work,on fairy wings,blame school so anyways i hope you guys,enjoyed this tutorial as always if you,have any questions rainbow,okay let's go ahead and jump into this,berry tutorial,yay a package this wig isn't actually,for this project it's actually for my,spirit blossom ari which i'm teasing,right now,in this video that yes i'm working on,spirit blossom ari this is the wig that,i'm going to be using for it i think it,looks pretty good okay,next part so you don't need a wig for,this costume but i highly recommend if,you want to go full,fairy maybe it's best to use an,alternate color so you can,embrace being a fairy i'm going to be,using scrap fabric for the bottom of my,skirt you can use any fabric you want,you could use a tablecloth an old bed,sheet an old dress,panties um just make sure that you're,covered because you don't want to be,indecent,and i'm going to play around with my,scrap piece until it fits properly,with out wearing jeans i can't show you,what that looks like because i'll get,demonetized,oh on top of that you're going to also,need a covering for your chest area,and me i went out and got a brand new,bra,because i don't want to use all my other,ones i still like them a lot,so yay i highly recommend that you use a,nude color bra,or a color that you're going to be using,into your outfit,uh i don't know what i'm doing here i'm,sorry so you're going to definitely need,your bra,your skirt material you're going to need,tons of flowers,and when i mean tons of flowers i ended,up using at least,two bushes full i think that's what,those things are,i used one full vine of white roses and,then i used this whole little,scrappy thing here and then i had this,like other really,long draping vine piece that i used you,want some beads too and make sure you,have plenty of it to match your,materials if you want kind of like my,unicorn you can actually,bring out some sequins or some pearls,there's no shortage of what you can do,with the materials that you have at home,this is all left up to your imagination,heck if you wanted to you could even,paint the entire thing when you're done,if you want to change it up,most importantly make sure you have,scissors wire cutters wire,and hot glue in two different types of,wire is preferable by the way,i'm first going to be using this heavy,gauge wire and wrap it around my head a,few times,so i can create my crown when i was,happy with the sizing i made sure to cut,it off,and then i secured it down with you,gusted not hot glue,but some tape i only secured down some,of the parts because i'm going to secure,the entire thing down with some gold,thin wire,gold and white are going to be the main,elements of my costume,i'm actually going to cut off a piece of,the gold wire first because i don't want,to use the entire thing and get tangled,up into it,i'm going to take a small vine and start,wrapping it around,and then i'm going to secure that to the,headband piece,using the gold wire i'm going to keep,doing this until i'm happy until it's,done,and if i had to keep cutting gold pieces,then i'll do that as well,to make sure everything was secured and,in place i started to add a second,layer of gold wiring and this time i,strung around pearls on top of it,and so i made sure that everything,looked really pretty and nice,i made sure that the ends didn't poke me,by twisting pearls at the end so it's,nice and secure,and then making sure that they don't,stab my head,with pliers i had these leftover pearl,branches from my wedding bouquets,and i thought it'd be really cool to,start to incorporate these back into,something so they're not being wasted so,i slipped them,into some of the wires and then bent,them into place,to make sure that they're secure i,wrapped one of the branches,around the headband and then it was nice,so that's what happened i decided to add,a strand of beads to my headpiece and,then i'm going to add,some roses on top of it now i thought i,positioned this to hang across my,forehead properly but it turned out to,be too big,so be careful with that and i just had,to work with what i had glued down,and this time i'm using hot glue after i,had secured down,these beads parts i went ahead and glued,down roses,at the sides and i think that's it for,my headdress so,that's that make sure you have elf ears,if you don't have elf ears just,just still say that you're a fairy no,one's gonna hate you for it and if they,do,you can just say okay well you're being,a debbie downer go take like a halloween,shot of candy,and when i mean that they had to shove,as much candy as they can in their mouth,and then they had to chew it as fast as,possible i really thought i was going to,keep the pink flower but i decided not,to,this is my finished crown and you can,see how easy that was that took me,less than an hour to make so if you know,how to work a hot glue gun and pair,scissors you can make this,sorry my face looks really dumb right,now,next up we're going to be tackling the,bra now if you're a dude you probably,don't need to do this but you can if you,want to because you are,anything you want to be i'm going to go,ahead and take off the straps because,those are going to get in the way and i,don't want to like accidentally glue,them to the bra and i don't like that,on top of not liking things i'm going to,snip off this tag,wait am i allowed to do that i don't,remember if i'm allowed to like snip,tags off anyways,so this is now our queen bra,i see here i i don't even know i wanted,to go back and check and this is voice,over,celeste like telling current past,celeste,like you better check if you could cut,that off before you're in trouble,guess not okay so going back to our,tutorial get out your hot glue gun,all right so i'm going to bust open this,brand new fresh bag of,flower vine now this one is completely,plastic and i'm going to try to use all,the leaves and the flowers on here,onto the bra and onto the skirt piece,with this you really can't go wrong but,you can actually,i don't know why i said that you want to,make sure you only do the parts that do,not stretch,this bra does not stretch at the front,part the back straps,like the it's like super elastic so you,just don't want to work with that,so i'm going to begin by making sure the,entire bottom part is leaves and then,i'm going to start filling in the areas,on that,one of the things that i do definitely,want to tell you is be careful with hot,glue,that stuff hurts i probably only really,burnt myself once this entire project,because i was being very careful,it was only until like the very end of,this project that i actually burned my,fingers so that kind of sucked,go ahead and start positioning your,flowers everywhere that you want,and start building the base of your bra,not the cups yet,so when you get to the cups let me tell,you what to do also super side note you,don't need to tack everything down just,make sure that the flour itself is,secure,and the leaves don't need to be there,you kind of want to keep it semi-organic,and if you need to try it on yourself,go ahead and do that if you have a,mannequin it's so much easier but,there's something on my mannequin that i,don't want you to see yet but,we'll get there when it's there also i,didn't always just pluck the flowers off,of the vine instead i just cut them off,so that they would lay flatter and that,way it didn't puff out so much,and i wish i did that more than i did on,this piece,so now when we actually get to the bra,cups you want to start,at the very tippy top portion that,actually,is at the very top because when you work,your way down it's so much easier than,working your way,up that's because this is going to be,your finishing point and then you're,going to layer,flowers on top of that and then you'll,be done,so that's why i say just wait to tackle,the bra cups last because they are,curved and you want to make sure that,you,like have flat file like flat,have flat flowers against it okay if,you're watching this make sure you,like try saying that five times fast and,if you're able to do that,say i did it and i'll know exactly what,you're talking about,ta-da and this is what one boob cup,looks like finished and the other one is,not,so we still have a little bit left to go,let's go finish it,alrighty now that both booby cups are,completely covered what we want to do is,take,our pearls or nice beads sequins,whichever sparkly doodads you have,and we're going to use that hot glue gun,and start adding them back in,now if you want to you could actually,use something like e6000 or universal,glue to make sure that they stay in,place,me i i don't i don't really mind this is,my halloween costume,minimal effort only okay minimum effort,not a lot,but you know i still want it to look,good so some effort and i hope you guys,want some effort too,and if you're new at making this stuff,don't worry you might have old bras,everywhere and you might have some old,fake flowers cut it up and start,practicing if you feel like it or just,keep making awesome fairy costumes your bra piece,go ahead and add your straps back in now,if you're an adventurous soul you could,actually start to customize your straps,but because they're elastic you got to,be careful you could actually even add,something like,um clear straps or straps that have like,shiny stuff on it you know what i mean,you guys know what i mean okay,let's go ahead and get on to the skirt,piece okay if you remember,my actual like unicorn video i used this,trim for it and i was thinking man how,cool would it be if i was able to use up,this trim,again and then i was like wow i don't,really have that much left so i'm just,going to make this into a quick little,belt,and i'm not actually going to make it,into a belt i'm just going to say,like safety pin it to my costume just to,add a little bit of flare but i thought,it would be cute and you know sometimes,just having an extra bit of trim,or something gives a little bit extra,like dimension and texture,shininess prettiness okay i'm sorry so i,made sure to play around with my remnant,fabric first and,see how i like it i found out that it,was actually pretty decent size,except for this top piece so i grab some,pins and needles and then i'm going to,go ahead and cut that top piece off,because i don't need that,no just like bad toxicity you don't need,that in your life,so like i said cut it out oh yeah,this this stuff cuts like butter by the,way by the way for those who have made,it this far in the video can you hear my,dog snoring in the background now,because he's literally getting tired of,me editing videos this light anyways,i went back and tried pinning it onto me,and making sure that it looked nice and,i made sure,that i had this little frilly part in,the front i really liked it,so i made sure to mark it and now we're,going to bring back,the hot glue gun,this is where i put most of my foliage,in and i didn't use any roses on this,because i wanted to save the roses for,my last little piece but feel free to,have tons of fun with this,because i was going to have a belt i,decided that i needed more flat flowers,than anything else,and i really wanted some good coverage,so i started,ripping off and cutting off all of my,flowers off of its chain,and it had this really ugly neon color,to it so i'm really glad that i did that,the leaves they were fine i didn't,really have to worry too much about,those,so make sure you have all of your,flowers ready when you're doing this,project before your hot glue,gun is ready because you don't want to,waste any of that precious hot glue,i took whole pieces of vine and just,started gluing them down onto this piece,of fabric,i made sure that the longest pieces were,in the back and not in the front because,that would be really annoying to like,get in my legs when i'm trying to walk,around or dance or anything,so i made sure to tack it down with hot,glue and then i secured it with a flower,on top making sure that it was,super super secure with tons of hot glue,that never burned myself,and so yeah that's what happened so i,made sure to grab,tons of these vines and i just cut them,off of its branch,and this branch kind of like goes into,one of those like plant holders so it,had this like really weird,stem at the top so i just went ahead and,started,adding these first and then i glued the,flowers on top of it,you can actually really opt to change,the flowers here,or you can actually not use vines and,just use more of a fabric base skirt if,you feel like it,i just had this fabric and then i,realized i had these vines i really,didn't want to compromise the vine look,coming out of like my waist area i,thought it would be so pretty,so i kept it that way you could probably,do something different if you felt like,it,but this is what i'm doing and you're,watching my video so thank you very much,for coming in if you made it this far,i didn't want too many pieces to be bare,so i made sure to have my flowers,sit somewhere in between and then some,of the areas if i had extra vines i went,back,but this kind of like played against me,because one area was just like super,green foliage and then the other area,was super white,so i was like oh i don't know if i like,that but you know,there's a way you can counteract it and,that was with,bling so go ahead and finish covering,your entire skirt area first with,flowers and foliage and then worry about,adding sparkle,this is going to let you see where you,need to fix everything and,if you're going to be happy with it so,this is what my skirt looks like,and then i'm going to go back and fill,in any the bloods,that i'm going to go back and fill in,any of the bald spots,i'm going to fill in those bald spots,with the remaining foliage,i decided to string a butt ton of these,like seed beads and pearls into,one extremely long line and i'm just,going to secure this down onto the skirt,kind of like a snake weave,and this is my type of sparkle i already,have a belt going on top,of it this is just to lay on top to give,it a little bit of glam but not so much,of a,whoa sparkle oh my god,i use the remainder of my roses like,this rose vine,into my wrist cuffs so what i did was i,cut them in half and then i grabbed that,gold wire again and i did that same,technique of just,you know what i did for my flower crown,i cut off some of the wire,and then i am going to wrap it around,the,rose vine it took me a second to,remember what i was doing and i'm so,sorry,so i i folded over the rose vine and,then i started wrapping it just like the,headband and this became,my base for my bracelet and in order for,me to secure my bracelet i actually,added beads,and i like a ball and loop clasp,but it's a pearl so it just looks so,much better if you have any questions,about that kind of clasp let me know,it's actually really easy to do you just,have like a pearl at one end and then,you have a,loop big enough just for the pearl to,fit and that is your clasp,clasp did you ever realize that's such a,funny word,and then you're done go ahead and throw,on your entire costume and let's see how,it looks,so,i can't believe it we're on day 30 of,the halloween like 30,i can't believe we're on day 30 of,october 2020,can you believe how fast this year has,gone i can't it's amazing,but i hope you guys enjoyed this actual,costume tutorial and it's a little bit,easier not much
