Hello everyone, in this video I'll be showing you how you,can transform an existing Hogwarts House robe into any of the other houses.,Today I'll be transforming a Gryffindor robe into Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff.,I'll also show you how to make a simple matching tie to go with it. So let's get started.,Starting off with the house crest you're going to need:,Dark t-shirt transfer paper, and a printout of the house crest of your choice.,So what I did was search for Hogwarts house crests images and picked the one that I liked best.,Then, I put it into a Word document, you can also do this using Photoshop.,I covered up any crest that I didn't want and resized it.,Next, I put the transfer paper into my printer and color printed the image.,You may want to do a test print of the image on plain paper just to see if you've made it the correct size.,You're also going to need a black bandana,,scissors,an iron, towel,a flat surface to work on,,fabric mod podge, and a paintbrush.,You're also going to need a hot glue gun or needle and thread.,First, carefully cut out the house crest leaving a sort of triangle shape to one end.,At this end, carefully peel off the transfer film from the backing paper.,You just want to lift a small portion of it then continue to cut out the crest.,Once you have the crest cut out, place a towel onto a flat surface and place the bandanna on top.,You can now peel off the crest from the backing paper completely.,Now following your transfer papers instructions, heat up your iron to the correct setting.,Iron out any wrinkles on the bandana then place the crest image on top.,Cover with parchment paper then, pressing firmly, iron over the entire crest making sure to go all around the edges.,Let the parchment cool for a minute then carefully peel it off and lift up the bandanna.,Next, in order to make the crest have a glossy finish and more vibrant color,we're going to paint over it with some fabric mod podge.,Simply paint a thin even layer over the entire crest.,Let it dry completely for a few minutes then cut out the crest shape,,making sure to leave a border around it.,You don't have to cut around every detail on the crest, a simple border will do just fine.,Now for the hood of the robe, you're obviously going to need a Hogwarts robe either bought or made.,First, measure out the dimensions of the hood.,For my store-bought robe, I needed a piece of folded fabric measuring 22 inches wide and 29 inches long.,So for Slytherin, I went with a matte emerald green color fabric.,For Ravenclaw, I chose a royal blue charmeuse fabric.,For Hufflepuff, I chose a golden charmeuse fabric.,And if you're making Gryffindor you will need a scarlet color fabric.,Now, make sure your fabric is folded in half with the ends facing right.,These are the measurements I used to make the hood and tie components.,So go ahead and with a fabric pencil and ruler,,measure out the hood onto the left side of the fabric.,On the right side measure out a tie shape.,You want to leave a seam allowance around the tie,so be sure to measure it a few inches larger than you want it to be.,It's easier to do this using a tie you already own as reference but if you don't have one that's okay.,The way I measured out my tie is a bit odd.,I first measured an 8 inch line horizontally towards the bottom of the fabric, then made it into a triangle shape with two 5 inch sides going down.,Then from that point I made a vertical line, measuring 19.2 inches.,At the top I measured a 6.5 inch line, using the vertical line as the middle of the measurement.,Finally, I measured two 16.1 inch lines, connecting the top and 8 inch measurements.,The lines should be on a slight angle going upwards.,I know that's a lot of measuring but it works.,Then, measure a piece for the knot of the tie. You don't have to worry about, the loop portion that goes around your neck because we're going to do something different.,So for the knot I made a 3 inch by 6 inch rectangle.,Then measured a 4 inch by 4 inch square to use for the tipping of the tie.,So once everything is measured out,,you can then cut out the pieces with some fabric scissors.,Use some binder clips or sewing pins to hold the fabric together, while you cut out the hood.,You should have a piece that looks like this.,Now for the tie pieces you only need to use one side of the fabric.,So unfold the fabric and cut out the pieces.,Now turn the hood of the robe inside out.,Then fit the hood fabric piece onto the hood of the robe and measure the area, where the robe meets the end of the fabric.,Next sew up the bottom of the fabric, and 6.2 inches up on the diagonal side using needle and thread or a sewing machine.,Also make sure the side of the fabric you want to be showing is on the, inside when you sew the fabric together.,As you can see I chose to use the matte dull side.,Then flip the hood inside out and fit the hood of the robe into the new hood.,Now you can attach it onto the robe using hot glue or by sewing it on.,Be sure to fold over the fabric a little when attaching it so the edges look clean.,Once you've glued on a majority of the hood around the rim,,you can then turn the hood right-side out,and finish the edge where the hood meets the robe.,Find the center seam of the robe's hood and align it with the center seam of the new one.,Then continue attaching the hood onto the robe.,You will need to trim off a few bits here and there,so the fabric attaches correctly and doesn't bunch up or look odd.,The finishing touch to your new house robe is to simply, place the new house crest directly on top of the old one.,Attach either by sewing along the border of the crest using black thread,or by using hot glue.,Now you have your very own brand new Hogwarts house robe.,Lastly, to make the matching house tie you're going to need the following things:,For Hufflepuff, you will need the golden charmeuse tie pieces of fabric from earlier,,a hot glue gun,a thin paintbrush,a fabric pencil, thick elastic, scissors,a ruler, needle and thread, and dimensional fabric paint in royal blue and silver. (CORRECTION: You'll only need BLACK dimensional fabric paint. I made a creative decision/mistake.),For Ravenclaw, you'll need royal blue fabric instead and you'll only need silver dimensional fabric paint.,For Slytherin, you'll need green fabric instead and only need silver dimensional fabric paint.,And for Gryffindor, you'll need scarlet fabric instead and to need gold dimensional fabric paint.,First, you need to recreate the diagonal striped pattern, that the house ties have.,I actually measured the spacing between the stripes,on the Gryffindor tie and got these measurements.,So go ahead and mark out the stripes on the fabric using a ruler and fabric pencil.,Of course if you already have a house tie, you can just trace the lines onto the fabric.,Once you have all the stripes marked out, you can then paint over them with the fabric paint.,Using a fine paintbrush spread out the paint.,Keep in mind the parallel lines are thicker than the single lines.,Then repeat the same steps for the rectangle fabric piece.,For the Hufflepuff tie, the stripe color is a mix of the blue and silver fabric paint. (CORRECTION, THE STRIPES ARE BLACK),So mix the colors together then paint on the stripes. (PAINT THE STRIPES BLACK),After letting the paint dry completely for a few minutes,,you can then shape and glue the fabric into a tie shape.,First, fold the tip of the fabric and glue it down.,Then fold the two sides inwards forming a point and glue it down.,With the square fabric piece you're going to use this for the tipping part of the tie.,But first make a sort of hem to the square by folding and gluing down the edges of the square like this.,Now you can place and glue the square onto the tie, making sure to leave a margin like this.,Trim off any excess.,Then fold the sides of the fabric inwards, overlapping slightly.,Make sure the sides are even and this lower half of the tie is even.,Then glue them down.,Fold the top of the tie and glue it down.,Now the tie should look something like this.,With the rectangle piece make clean edges again,by folding and gluing down the edges like this.,Then wrap it around the top portion of the tie, this will be the knot of the tie.,Make sure the knot looks slightly pinched at the bottom and wide at the top.,Glue it into place but leave an opening at the back.,Next, put on a collared shirt then wrap the elastic around the collar.,Make sure it fits comfortable around your neck it will stretch so don't make it too tight or too loose.,Then cut off the length you need.,Sew the ends together using needle and thread.,Sew it onto the back of the tie knot.,Lastly, you can glue down the opening in the back.,And there is your completed Hogwarts house tie.,To complete my Hogwarts uniform I wore black chelsea boots,,black tights, a grey skirt, a gray cardigan, and a white dress shirt.,Then added on the house tie and house robe.,So now you know how to transform an existing Hogwarts house robe into, whichever house you want and make a simple tie to go with it.,If you'd like to make your own DIY wand like this one, click the link in the description box down below.,If you end up recreating your own robe and tie, be sure to tag me,on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook because I'd love to see them!,Thank you so much for watching and for all your continued support.,Be sure to thumbs up this video if you liked it and comment down below which house you belong to.,Till next time bye!

DIY Harry Potter Costume!
DIY Harry Potter Costume!
hello there my name is destiny and, welcome to destiny inspires yourself,Halloween is right around the corner and, this time I'm going to be Harry Potter I,like to show you guys the process and, this is perfect for anyone out there who, needs a last-minute costume so let's get, started this is the look we're going for, except without the gray sweater so let's,get started you want to wear some black, shoes to give it a uniformed look this,is October is preferred, you also wanna wear a black pants this, could be jeans and a white shirt it is,preferred to a collared shirt as it will, fit the tie but if you don't you can, wear shirt like me now for the time I,got this at the Halloween store for $4,and this is a Gryffindor colors so I'm,taking the thicker side and putting the, right side of my body on the thinner, side on the left and I want to make the, little thinner side a little shorter, than the thick I'm going to create a,cross taking a thicker side I'm going to,loop it through the hole that we've,created on the top and pull now that you, have that making sure that thicker side,is on the left side of your body you, want to loop it through underneath and, pull, now I want to take out your tie and so,that the inner part of your tie is,facing like the lines and all I'm doing,is I'm now going to wrap it around and, pull it through the hole and taking the, thicker side we have created a pocket so,we're going to make it like go through, the pocket and pull it if you guys, didn't understand my explanation I'm,really sorry I'll link the video where I,got this in the description below now,for the ropes is really expensive in,Halloween short sighted this cheap scary, guy costume in Walmart Luigi and I'm,shocked and I like created a like a,triangular shape on the neck and this is,just to show that tie and the white, uniform otherwise it's covering up and,it's useless so as I'm doing this the, actual robes go through right through, the middle and it's open but like I just,I don't have the green sweater that's,why I went ahead and just cut the neck, you guys could do this but if you have a,gray sweater then go ahead and wear it,it will go perfect with you in for now,we're going to create a good fender, symbol in the left hand side of the robe, and I chose one of the Google Images, this is what I chose and I'm pretty sure, this is not the actual one in the a part,of movies that is in Harry Potter's robe, but this seemed the easiest to me and I,drew this freehand I would suggest you, guys to trace it or print it the things,a lot more time and it will look, professional mine turned out to be a lot, more future than the actual size so like,I said to save time and save and make, you look professional,go ahead red or trace it and all I'm,doing is I'm drying it and then I'm,gonna color in the colors of red black, brown and gold which is the colors of,Gryffindor and then once I've done that,I'm going to paint a layer of white glue,to give it a glossy effect this is,optional but it is preferred as it gives,it a new look,I'm gonna cut out your group intersymbol,be careful because you want to sue, people once that's done this is how it,looks like I said the glue made it a,shiny effect if you want to do it you, could and if you don't it's all so now, what I'm going to do is using the,Gryffindor sign I'm going to hot glue it,to the left-hand side of my rope and, this is optional you're going to stick,it or you could even pin it in now to,finish the look you want to have a wand,I took one of the knitting needles and,use the air dry clay which is linked in,the description below how I made the air,dry clay and I made it into small balls, poked some holes and you guys can see, there's a white little paper with, symbols this has created the Elder Wand, this option you guys can create any sort,of wand by taking a pencil using some, paper there's probably I'm pretty sure, that a lot of other videos showing you,how to make a wand so you want to create,a wand this is off you guys can even, take a branch and make it a wand is um,perfectly fine so that's what will, create the look to give it a makeup, effect you want to add the scar this is,what completes Harry Potter and it is,together like a more deep look you give,me some makeup which I will be doing, soon I have also added the glasses you, guys can go ahead and buy the perfect, circular ones that is available how, ensures but I had glasses so I just went, ahead and more than ones I own and this,is optional you guys can actually buy,the circular ones which is perfect and, this is the end look guys it like I said, the Gryphon er symbol is huge but it was, fine,so that's all for today guys hope you, enjoyed this video don't forget to like, this video as well subscribe to this, channel follow me on my Instagram, snapchat Twitter Facebook and Tumblr the, goal for today is happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times if one, remembers to turn around light why, always Dumbledore a new video will be,coming up every week and if you guys, haven't noticed I am a huge Harry Potter, fan so if anyone out there is a Harry,Potter fan don't forget to tell me what, house you are sorted in I'm a Gryffindor, which I'm proud of so yeah hope you guys, enjoy this bye see you guys next week

EASY to make DIY HARRY POTTER COSTUME
EASY to make DIY HARRY POTTER COSTUME
hello everyone and welcome back to my,channel if you're new to this channel, thank you for clicking on to today's,video and if you're coming back to my,channel welcome back you guys and for, those of you who are new hi my name is,emin and in this channel you will find,me guiding you through each step and, showing you guys step by step on how to,create these easy creative inexpensive, diy projects since halloween is around, the corner now as you all have already, read from today's title in today's video,i'm going to be showing you guys step by,step on how to make harry potter's,inspired gryffindor uniform costume, whatever you guys want to call it i'm a,big harry potter fan myself you guys and,so i've grown up watching harry potter, now costumes can get really expensive, you never know you might end up finding, stuff from just your closet or somewhere, you just have to buy just one or two, things to complete a costume and so i'm,gonna be showing you guys a diy,way to make a easy to make, harry potters inspired costume slash, uniform whatever you guys want to call,it so without taking much of your guys's,time let's dive into the video and, without further ado let's begin with the, video,to create this logo the first thing, you're going to need is a printer, microsoft word and the following marker, colors that are displayed on the screen,so i'm going to go on google and type in,harry potter hogwarts logo once i,selected the logo i'm going to copy the, image, and i'm going to paste it on a word, document i'm just going to resize it,once it's been resized next i'm going to,select print, and i'm going to see the size of the, image once i think that looks fine then,i'm going to select print again and then, once it's printed out this is how it,will look like, and then i'm going gonna add the colors, that i had mentioned using my phone as a,reference to see which colors go where, and this is how it will look like once,it's complete, once the logo has been complete, for supplies you will need a long black, cape, like this and fabric tape pieces, next using my graduation cape i'm going,to place the logo just about there using, some fabric tape piece to stick it on,there, also if you don't have that you can try, using hot glue gun or a glue that works, well with fabrics, once that's complete here is the, finished look,so far it's looking pretty good now to,make the tie the first thing you're,going to need is some felt fabric in the, color red yellow paper sewing thread in,the color red a stitching needle a hot, glue gun and tape also a clip, now to make the tie i'm going to first, use a felt fabric, and i'm going to stretch the fabric so,that the fabric gets a little longer,as you can see the difference, next i'm going to fold it in half and, draw out the tie using a marker, once it's complete i'm going to cut it,out and use a red thread also a needle,i have took out a piece of thread and i,put it through the needle's hole and,i've brought the ends of the thread, together and tied it into a knot so it,doesn't open up just like this and when, you're doing this it should be the back, and through the front of the fabric, now once that's complete i left this, little hole just so i can push the, fabric through like this so it's inside, out, and then once that's complete i'm going,to finish off and thread the rest of the, tie, since i don't have yellow paper i'm kind,of out of it i'm just going to use this, paper gift bag and i'm just going to cut,it up so that i could use the paper, remove the strings, now using the reference of the original, tie looking at the stripes they are not, exactly the same so i'm going to slice, the paper using this paper trimmer and,cut them up in different sizes with one, being a little thinner and the other one, being a little thicker than the other, once that's complete next i'm going to,place the paper strips onto the tie just, like this, using the reference of the original tie,and then i'm going to start gluing the, strips onto the tie individually, and finally i'm going to place the clip, behind the tie and as you can see i've,placed a piece of tape so that the tape,is between the clip and it's nicely, secured, and here is the finished look,to make the glasses the first thing, you're going to need is of course, glasses and a black marker, now i had stopped by a dollarama and the, closest thing i could find was these, glasses i know they look a little crazy, but don't worry we'll get those fixed,i'm simply just gonna remove everything, select stones and the feathers on the, glasses and using my fingernails luckily, the feathers and the stones were not, easy to take off what else i think i,would have broken a nail and once that's,complete i'm going to be using a marker, and i'm going to color the glasses to,make them a bit more darker black, and here is the finished look, make the wand you're going to need is a,wooden stick paint brushes hot glue gun,and paints, now to make the wand i'm going to be,using one of my drumsticks and yes i had, taken music class in high school so i,did get to learn how to play drums ps i,wasn't the best but i did enjoy playing, the acoustic guitar electric guitar and,the bass, but that's another story for another, time but let's continue on with our diy, using reference to the harry potter wand,he has this design close to the bottom,of his wand so i had hot glued around, the stick, and once that was dried i had painted, the bottom part black and then the upper, part brown just like his wand wait for,it to dry and here is the finished look, and to complete the look you're just, going to need is a white dress shirt, black dress pants, and for me of course i'm going to be,using heels so i'm going to be wearing, some black heels and it's time for the, reveal, honestly this came out really good, luckily i had the cape already from my,graduation it's a super easy costume to,make you guys and honestly it did not, take me that long to be honest with you,and for cost wise i would say it was, quite inexpensive since i already had,the cape and the pants and the dress, shirt of course and so um like the only, thing i had to purchase was pretty much, the glasses and, going to the craft store and getting the, craft supplies of course, and that was pretty much it you guys and, that is it you guys i hope you all, enjoyed watching today's video if you, guys did don't forget to give this Easy No-Sew Harry Potter Costume Part 1: Sweater, Shirt, & Tie
Easy No-Sew Harry Potter Costume Part 1: Sweater, Shirt, & Tie
so the first thing you're going to need,is a gray sweater which you can pick up,for a couple bucks in any second hand, shop,in the later movies the student sweaters, became black but i'm basing this costume,on these sweaters they wore in the first, couple of movies which were gray, now i couldn't find an actual gray, sweater so if you can't find a sweater, you can just use a simple gray knit, shirt which is what i'm using here, and so then you'll be needing some red,and gold bias tape and a bottle of,fabric glue,so starting at the neck of the shirt, you're just going to take your red bias, tape and glue it all the way around the, neck, put a little glue on the back of the, ribbon, and then you're just going to take that, all the way around the neck of the shirt, you want to leave just a little bit of,gray in between where the red starts, just leave a little bit of gray in,between there so there's a gray stripe,on top of the red stripe, and so then you'll just keep going, all the way around with your glue, just doing a little bit at a time, then you want to make sure that you cut,the end of your bias tape so it finishes, the trim off at a nice point,so next you're going to take a piece of,yellow tape and you're just going to cut, that in half so that it's thinner than, your red tape,so then you're going to start it by,making a line of glue, right down the center of your red tape, and you don't want to quite go all the,way to the end you want to leave just a,little bit of space and you'll start the, yellow tape right there, there's just a little bit of space at,the end and then just keep it in the, center, and then you'll just keep going, all the way down, the red tape with your glue, just keep putting the yellow tape down,it making sure that it stays evenly, centered on both sides, and so then you're going to use the same, bias tape technique,to make, stripes a few inches above the bottom of,the shirt,so again you're just going to,glue the red all the way across, and so then if you want to go as a,character from a different house it's,just a matter of changing the color of,the bias tapes, and then you'll be needing a white dress, shirt which you can get at your local, goodwill,so for the necktie you're going to cut a,basic necktie shape out of a piece of,red sand, and if you can't cut it freehand you can,use an actual tie as a guide you'll just, leave a quarter of an inch on either, side of the actual tie you just cut out,the tie shape,if you find that the edges of your, necktie fray you can just use a little, bit of hot glue and fold the edges over, just about a quarter of an inch and that, way you can glue them in place,so for the stripes you're just going to,take a little bit of yellow fabric paint, and just paint diagonal stripes across, the tie

DIY Harry Potter Robe - No Pattern Needed
DIY Harry Potter Robe - No Pattern Needed
there's no there's no way,hi all Savannah here I recently made my,son a Hogwarts roba for his upcoming, birthday party, and I did it with absolutely no pattern,so I wanted to show you the process that,I went through in order to make this it,was a process that's to be sure I made a,lot of mistakes and I had to undo a lot,of things I want to help you avoid the, things that I did that made this a lot, harder than it needs to be for you but,if you are interested to see how to make,a hogwarts rope without a pattern for,you or your children stay tuned and,we'll get right into that okay so I am,going to attempt to make a Hogwarts robe, for my son I went to the thrift store a,couple of months ago and I just happened,to see this fabric in one of their bins, that they were selling for only a dollar,at the time I wasn't sure when I was, gonna do with it but I mean this is the, perfect fabric for a robe so I'm,definitely going to use this I have, plenty of that I believe to make him a,robe and then my son was also sorted, into the ravenclaw house which means I'm,going to use a blue liner on his robe to,make him an official Raven cloth so I,don't have my son with me right now he's,out to playing and does I want to come,in to be measured so I am actually going,to just use existing clothes of his I,just got a long-sleeve shirt to kind of,get an idea of how long I want the arms,to be as well as the general size and, then I also got a pair of pants again, just to give me an idea about how long I,want the length of the Rope to be so I'm,going to use these to help me with my,pattern,I've never made a row before so wish me,luck okay side, second looey clothes on the fabric and I,folded it right along here this is a,fold and then you can see maybe not but,it ends about this part right here so,I'm trying to make sure that I had, enough space to half the length of,sleeves that I wanted and then I am just, trying to get an idea I was watching the, tutorial on YouTube and she basically, said that these robes are just like a,t-shape so I'm going to do is kind of,just hit that idea and I'm just gonna, measure out the arm but make it a little, bit wider cuz the robe and then I'm just, gonna do it straight down slightly in,without bottom part or the I don't know, the dress part of the room I suppose and, then I went done fitting that out I'm,going to use that as a pattern for the, other part of the ropes we had the front, part and then the back part of the rope, that we're going to make so let's,getting started on that so I kind of,taste just a rumor, and how can we do 24 inch length for the, arms 46 inch length for the lip link and, then 10 inches of the quiz maybe no,flared out a little bit so wait son, societies like eight between eight to,ten so just in case you're one day with, these measurements are but of course you,can just use those or even children it's,a measure for them pulling down and I,need to blur it out a little bit so I,think we're gonna do it is so the,Bermuda here is 10 inches so down here, around my 46 inch mark but right around, here there's a 46 or just I need to have, this flare out a little bit so I think,we want to do is put a measure about, what I'll be even 13 inches out maybe, even 14 I'm not too much let's check 14,they'll be good so,okay so this is the general shape of,what I have all right so I just have, like a very square top part here, and then coming down so this is 24,inches across here I came down 12 inches,I had went from the width from here to,here is 10 inches and down at the very, bottom I made that with 14 inches down, here and then I just connected those two, points there so this is my shape I'm,going to go ahead and cut it out and see,how it looks,so it looks like, okay so I don't have enough fabric to be,like a fully lined robe so what I'm,going to do is this need to line the, front part of the robe and pour the, leaves some kind of a fabric I'm just, going to cut out a strip of blue and, then sew goes into the seams in the, leads so that I don't that you the, entire suite align it,the only problem I'm having right now is,my fabric because of the way I cut it,for a different project it's not long, enough for my particular broke that I,made so I'm trying to figure out what I,wanted to down there and I think what,I'm this going to do is I'm just going,to cut out again another strip of fabric, and add it and I'll have a little steam, inside but again I'm not following this,I'm just making it with my son for, something fun so I'm not too concerned, with it but all I'm going to do to kind,of keep from accidentally putting this, bleep portion out is I'm going to sorry,if you can see that I mean just folding, this over and lining it up here and then,it's going to pin it down and cut it up,so,all right so again all I'm going to do,now is going to cut down the center seam, make it to Bert,it's all I'm going to do now is I'm just, going to see how much extra fabric we,need to get myself an extra half an inch, for seam allowance and cut out pieces, for that, there's no Magister that is there, there's no way all right guys you won't,believe what I did so in order to try to,get the pieces that I needed to add more, length to the bottom of my liner I just, really got paying attention grab one of,my lighter pieces and it totally just, chopped it to pieces, and now I'm like mr. drug lien to have, enough fabric to try to cut another, minor piece out and it will look like I,have enough for me how do you do that so,I'm trying to like get another piece cut,out for my liner and I'm hoping that, this that's left over is going to be,enough for my good oh my gosh, then I need to also use scrap and not my,lighter piece I need to make the believe,so I'm gonna make this partially lined, here so I want to make sure that it's,long enough and wide enough but I'm,going to need four of those cuz I'm,gonna need it for the front and the back,of the eyes a little kind of funny right, okay,so here's one of Mike's leans and again,I'm gonna have to like em part of this,it kinda keeps the raw edges from being,a thing but if I would be easier to,alignment if it was like a fully lined, one but it does take a lot more fabric, okay so because I didn't find very much, fabric like a good shape I looked at a,tutorial on YouTube but I'm cutting the, sides down by four inches Toria was for,an adult size rope so I'm hoping that,it's not going to affect it too much so,I'm going to show you what I did so I,did a line across the top here that was, nineteen inches across and then from, there to here was ten inches and then, from here to here is six and a half, inches and then I just connected the two, lines which ended up being about 15,inches and now all I'm going to do is,I'm just going to cut this out of this, fabric and the black fabric as well and, then I think I'll have all my pieces and, will be ready to sell so I'm doing right, now is I'm just looking at where my knee, seams going to be because this part here,is not going to be sewn into my actual, main fabric since this going into the, sleeve I'm not going to actually,be able to leave this in the raw edge,I'm just going to mark off where this is,and I'm going to just do a quick little, zig zag stitch right here along this, blue fabric to keep it from the frame, but you're not really gonna see it on,the insides I'm not gonna do any like I,mean just nothing fancy so I'm just, gonna do a quick exact stitch along here,up to this a line that I just drew and, then I'm going to attach it okay so you,can see here this is where I did the zig,zag stitch in a sudden the opposite side,of where my neck line is and now I'm,just gonna go ahead and attach this to,my main fabric okay so this is on top of,the main fabric and all I'm gonna do is,I'm going to sew sorry I'm gonna sew, right here along the top edge by the, sleeve around the neckline and then all,the way down to the bottom here okay so,I have it sewn together you can see I,flipped it right-side out and so these, are kind of fluffing out a little bit,all I'm gonna do is I'm just going to,top stitch right along those same edge,is that I just stitched just to keep, those nice and flat and pressed together, like more like this and less like that,so that's the next step okay you guys so,you know how I totally destroyed one of,my lining pieces of this balloon fabric, and accidentally cut off those little, rectangular strips that I was going to,add to the bottom of this to make it,longer so that it would meet up the, bottom of my actual main fabric yeah, well I tried this on while tried it on I,measured it against my son to see how,the length was looking for him and the, exact super hot like literally the exact, spot where this steam is is about where,I need to adjust the line, that actually need to get rid of that, much late so not only did I just, completely historia panel I did it for, absolutely no reason and gave myself to,solve a bunch of extra works so that's,great right, alright anyway but back to the actual, sewing of this I originally had sewn my,this is my shoulder and sleeve here I,saw knit together the blue and the black, together but I actually went ahead and,he ripped it because I didn't want to,lose any seam allowance and I'm going to,you know so the back piece to this part,so I figured that any better idea just,to go ahead and steam rate and sew it to,the bra edges instead so if you want to,make this on yours on your own as well, that might be something just to consider, not to bother even throw in that little, area and save yourself a little bit of,time in trouble but what I do want to do,now though is I'm going to put my front, panels of my robe and I'm going to,attach it to my backpack,so that's the next step alright so,pieces right side together and I'm just, going to line up my arms line up my,neckline and my sight pieces here so,once they get all of that adjusted and, lined up I'm gonna sew it and where I'm,going to sew it is going to be along my,shoulder seam and then also along the, side seam here so I'm going to do that, for both sides of my front panels and, attach them to my back panel so that's,okay so I went ahead and sewed both of,my front lapels I guess I don't know if,they're called panels onto my back and I,am just going to hem it now,and then after that I'm gonna figure out, what to do about my little sleeve cuff, that I'm gonna put inside and then I,will be working on the hood so we're,getting there a little by little hello,so this is like in a six thousand seven, hundred and twenty-two I'm trying to,make this row for my son and it's one of,those things were like you just have, problems for like no real reason other, than you make silly mistakes or you just,do things that didn't need be done and,it's like the series of unfortunate, events wrote version it has been a,struggle making this and I'm still in,the process of it so like for this hood, now you know when you see like tutorials, and they kind of give you like a general, idea I'm like okay this is what it looks, like and they'll give you like really, detailed things like this is how I know, this is a the size of it but then they, don't really show you or tell you where,to sew it or how does somewhat exactly, and you know done it before so you're,like oh I think I can figure it out I,got a good idea right,I didn't sew it and you're like I don't,think that's right and you like take it,apart and then be somewhat a different, way and then you're like I support me,that's right, and then you take it afire and then, you're just trying to figure it out like, you know other tutorials and you try to,answer is none other hood look like, yours oh man you're just lost,oh that's where I am so you know I've,had a couple of issues with making my,robe the hood is just one of those, another one is I was selling my front, panel to my back part of my role and I,just a curiosity decided to line one of,the front panels and attach it to my,back and then why the second panel to,attach to my back but the problem with, that was is that when I was pregnant in,which sign I needed to just sew it on,this it's so hard to tell from the front,to the back or the right side of the, wrong side of the fabric on these, particular products that I'm using I,sewed it backwards so I had to like, right sides of my robe and no left honey, and this was like I mean seriously I,sewed the entire thing together in a top, stitch bit and I even had a little wand, pocket that was on the wrong fabric so I,had to like just seem rip everything and, then resew it back up and then attach it,to the front and then yeah so it's,that's why I'm doing this video so all,of these things that happen need to be a,they're like mistakes little mistakes, but maybe they're things that you can, learn a song for years and I hope,a little bit comprehensive so you can, actually use it something from it and,it's not like this is how I did it and,you kind of like I don't know what to do,let's get into this alright alright so,this is how I originally sewed it right,I sorted along this edge here and then I,sewed it along the longer edge down here, attached to an actual roll I put it I,started to see my friends so you know I,apologize but here it's how they gave, you this like Peter Pan asked you me do,it and just I don't think it's like the, look that we're going for for Harry,Potter room you know like I don't think, this is it,so I decided to try sewing it in a,different way and I kind of got, something more like pointy ER hat remote, that's what we're like we're either but,we need to like turn on if I can have it,on it's like, know what's going on and this is like I,said weird kid stroke so I you know my,head's a lot bigger than the kids but um,this is right so I think I'm going to do,like if I attach it here right to the, throat and it's gonna be lined it,probably won't actually be I use the, ball hood but they'll have that look to,it a little bit more of what we're,looking for so let me show you how I saw, with this I'm gonna sell the blue one,the same way and then I'm gonna line it,and they supply that like I said the, most amazing food for whatever but it's,gonna do what I do for this particular, project I don't have any fabric to like, recut up anything so here let me show, you, okay so here is this and so I went ahead, and I saw it along the long side the, same as the blue one but I did it along, this side as well and this part here, which I originally thought with my,Center seen I left open and so when I,flip it inside oh just right here you'll,see this part here kind of has like a a,V shape to it and then this is the other, the other edge that's not sewn so what I,think I'm going to do when I attach it,is I'm going to just attach this part, here to my robe and this here will be,more on my liner will get sewn into so,I'll attach my lining there I'll go all,the way around and then we'll sew this,to the actual robe that way so um I,don't know if this is the right way to,do it but it's trial and error at this, point we're figuring it out together and,I still have to do this and I have to do,my other sleeve lining and after that I,think they'll be it and we'll be ready,to go oh okay you guys so I went ahead, and sew it the way I said I was going to,and now I'm attaching the liner to the, outside piece there is another way of,doing this but I just felt like the, simplest way was just to kind of fold, under the raw edges and then I'm just, going to top stitch around this edge and,I'm gonna do it from here all the way to,here and then this little area is where,I'm going to attach it to my rope okay, you guys this is how it turned out now I,might leave this just because I don't,want to have any issues with my son, being on YouTube and so it's a little, bit short my sleeves but I think it,turned out even with all the trouble, that I had making it I went ahead and, made a little ravenclaw patch I put in a,wand pocket in the inside and I just had,a lot of fun with it after it was all, done so if you want to make a robe like, this for yourself I would suggest, finding a different hood tutorial just,to make it not look so funny but overall,it turned out really well, alright you guys if you like these types,of videos make sure to subscribe leave,me a like or comment below I try to make, two videos a week

Hogwarts Wizard Robe DIY (FREE pattern)
Hogwarts Wizard Robe DIY (FREE pattern)
Alrighty are you guys excited? Because you've been asking for this one for a,few years now. It's finally here! I am showing you how to make this wizard robe, inspired by Harry Potter it's inspired by a Hogwarts school robe and yeah it's,it's pretty awesome I'm pretty happy how this one turned out for this project you, will need the following:,you will need these fines free pdf pattern available,on fleecefun.com. Black cotton see the web page for the exact amount . Cotton in,your house color. You'll need maroon for Gryffindor green for Slytherin yellow, for Hufflepuff and blue for Ravenclaw a house patch I have a link to where you,can find that below. 3 yards of hem tape and that's optional depending on how you, want to hem up the robe. Thread in black and the house color, sewing essentials, pins needles that sort of thing iron and a sew-on toggle clasp. again, that's optional but nice to have. Alright now that you have all those items it's,time to cut out all the pattern pieces. And I need to give you a little warning, about this pattern. Now because there are many many pieces to this thing and also, because I didn't want you have to like spend half the day assembling the, pattern or maybe more than half a day. I've made it so the front and back, pattern piece are doubled into one so you need to pay attention as to how you, need to cut down the piece or cut it out properly okay this way it just it saves, paper and it saves you time and that's one of the downfalls of PDF patterns is,the assembly of it so trying to help you out here but you need to pay attention,to how I cut it out and how this pattern cuts down so you're successful. Assemble, the pattern you can find detailed instructions on how to do that on,fleecefun.com. On folded fabric, place the back on the fold and cut out one.,When you unfold it the back should be one large piece.,Now it's time to cut out the hood.,Here you can see how it should be placed on the fabric in relation to,the robe back so you get the most out of your fabric.,On folded fabric cut out two,Essentially you will cut out the back and then cut down the pattern so you can,cut out the front.,You'll notice on the Harry Potter wizard robe pattern piece there is a red line,Cut down the pattern to the red line to make it the shape of the front, ,Place the pattern on folded fabric and cut two . Notice that this, pattern piece DOES NOT sit on the fold. Be sure to mark the notches on the neckline,You will have to separate pattern pieces for the front when you're finished.,For the sleeves of the Harry Potter robe pattern with the remaining, fabric, adjust the fold so it's NOT in the center of the fabric or else you, won't have enough fabric so make sure you adjust the fabric,Make it wide enough to cut out the sleeve cut one and then adjust the fold again to cut out,the other sleeve,For the house color lining cut out the following: cut two of the sleeve lining on the fold, cut two of the wizard cloak lining.,And cut two of the wizard hood lining,Note: to get the most out of your fabric you'll FLIP the pattern piece so,the printed side is facedown on the fabric. Make sure that you include the, notches for reference later .,Alright now that you have all those items cut out,it's time to start sewing.,All seam allowances are half an inch unless, otherwise stated. Let's begin with the exterior of the robe.,Take the back of the robe and the two front pieces pin right sides together, sew the shoulder seams,Okay let's work on the sleeves.,Line up the center of the sleeve with, the shoulder seam,Next, take the sleeves and pin to each side right sides together,Sew the sleeves to the robe, okay let's sew up the sides of the robe.,Now fold the robe so the shoulder seams, are at the top. With the right sides together pin the side seams of the robe, all the way from the bottom to the ends of the sleeves. Sew the sides and then, set the robe aside.,All right let's start putting the hood together .,With right sides together sew the top of the hood exterior using a 1/2 inch seam allowance, then following the red line on the pattern piece as a guide sew to the notch,at the base of the neck using a half inch seam allowance.,Repeat this process with the hood lining in the house color.,Trim notches in the curve so it will lay nicely.,Turn the hoods so the fronts - the long, straight edge - are facing each other and pin right sides together.,Sew together,,then turn right side out,Stuff the lining into the hooded robe exterior.,Line up the notches on the neckline,,and pin the hood to the robe right sides of the exterior touching.,Sew the hood to the robe set the robe aside.,Looking good now it's time to add that lining part,To create that flash of house color inside the robe we,need to prep and insert the lining. You will need to finish the raw edge of the, lining this is the side of the lining that comes to a point at the top.,You can either turn it under a quarter of an inch press it then zigzag stitch along, the edge in a thread that is the same color to finish the edge or you can use a,turning foot to turn that raw edge under and finish it. This is how I chose to do it,Make sure that they are mirror images so you don't turn under the hem on the same side.,Once the edge is finished you can attach it to the Hogwarts robe.,Line up the top of lining with the hood neckline with right sides together,Pin the lining and sew on to the wizard's robe.,Trim the seam at the point.,Turn the lining to the inside repeat this on the other side,Let's work on the sleeves.,Now it's time to add that flash of color to the sleeves .,On the straight side finish the edge like you did the lining either with,a turned edge like I did or fold it under to the wrong side and zig zag, stitch it down.Take the sleeve lining and on the small side pin right sides, together and sew to make it a loop. Add it to the sleeves with the Rope sleeve, turned right side out pin the wizard cloak lining sleeve to the sleeve so,right sides are touching the sleeve lining seam should be facing out.,Note: the seams on the sleeve and the lining do not match up the curves do. This is to,hide the seams for a more pleasing appearance. Pin each side of the sleeves.,Right sides together, sew on using a quarter inch seam allowance.,Flip the lining out and then tuck it into the sleeve.,Now this part is optional but recommended, top stitch along the outer, edge of the sleeve to keep the lining inside and make it look neat hand tack, the edge of the rope sleeve lining to the inside of the sleeve with glue or a,few stitches just to keep it in place.,Just a few more finishing touches and we're there.,Again there are a couple of different methods that you,can use to finish the robe at this point. you can turn the hem under an inch and,sew along the edge with a zig-zag stitch or you can use hem tape to iron up the hem,it's your costume you can finish it as,nicely or as quickly as you would like.,Add the house patch to the left side of,the robe and if desired add a toggle clasp where the front "v" comes to a point on,the wizard robe. Top stitch around the front and hood so the Robe will lay, nicely and you're finished with the Harry Potter robe DIY,and you're finished you have this great robe it looks perfect it's you know it,just looks good. And those patches that I have on the robe totally available on,Amazon really easy to buy.,thank you so much for watching please be sure to hit, that like button and subscribe for more awesome videos just like this one,if you liked this project I have several others on my website,fleecefun.com that i know you'll enjoy I have many different costume tutorials on,there that are you know on the easier side have a free pattern and a video, tutorial just like this one. please give me a thumbs up for my hard work here I,appreciate that and I have a recommended video for you to check out oh and a link,to that pattern also remember velvet is pretentious fleece is fun,so what house do you think you would be sorted into?
