Nutty Professor/Mad Scientist Tutorial | Last Minute Halloween Costumes

everyone welcome back to my channel my,name is patina and I am the makeup, enthusiast today is the first, installment of my last minute Halloween, series so in this series I'm going to be,bringing you lots and lots of ideas of,what you can do if you know in last, minute you realize that you got an,invite to a Halloween party and you have,no idea what to go as or if you're,really slack like me and realize like, the day before that you've got to wear a,costume to a party so I'm coming at you, with some ideas to make things a lot, easier for you in today in this video,I'm gonna show you how to become a mad, scientist whoa I grabbed a few things, from now like $2 shop so not only is,this gonna be a last minute tutorial but, these these last minute tutorial is,going to be quite budget-friendly,everything I've picked up for these last, minute tutorials I purchased from like, the $2 shop sorry I've got my little mad, scientist glasses or I've got mad, scientist goggles I haven't really, decided what one I'm gonna go with yet I,did also pick up some paint brushes from, the $2 shop because I don't really feel, like ruining my makeup brushes with some,of the things that I'm going to be,putting on my face so if you're in the, same boat,I recommend grabbing a pack of these I,think like maybe $5 pretty darn cheap,so without further ado we're gonna jump, into this mad scientist tutorial it's,gonna be a fairly basic tutorial one, that you can whip together pretty, quickly and if you didn't notice guys,I've changed my background to black to,make things a little bit more spooky so,first up I'm just going to prime my face, and I'm going to put some foundation on,you can just use any old primer any old, foundation I have gone though with my,foundation one that's quite light for me,so I can kind of,get that mad scientist look about me a,bit like unhealthy and overtired like,I've been kicking back in the lab for a,little bit too long haven't seen the, sunlight for a couple of days because, too busy being a mad scientist, this just goes to show why I changed my,background from what to Mike, although I would have just blended in,with this foundation,I'm gonna blend this down the neck a bit, just purely because I do have something,to wear with this but only like you're,probably gonna see my neck in it so I'm,just going to probably blend my,foundation down to about here at least, good thing about this look is because,we're going with the mad scientist it,doesn't have to look perfect I'm just, gonna run some translucent powder over,my face to suppress it in so I can get, like an outline so I'm going for like a,look as if an experiment gone wrong and,it's exploded in my face,so hence why I've just kind of had a bit,of an imprint of the goggles on my face, which you can kind of see that way, obviously if you're wearing goggles, you're not going to get any dirt I've,got this zombie dirt here which I also, got from the $2 shop and it's black up,powder and it's black I just grabbed, just one of those paintbrushes out of,that set that I'm purchased I'm just, gonna go like basically from the in out,and we'll see how we go with make us,look a bit dirty,I'm just gonna dip my fingers in and, kind of like smudge it,so we've done makeup basically I'm just, going to the put like a quite a bold, brow on because mad-scientist,have quite a bushy brow so just any any, brow product that you'll use normally, but just be quite heavy-handed with it,I'm just gonna want somebody so my neck,as well so boss I just got a little, palette here sorry, just like a normally what you would put,to sit stuff on your I I'm just going to,pop that under my eye and try and create, the illusion of black some eyebags and, almost like I'm a bit Sikh just hiding, like a tiny little touch you down with,it,I'm just taking a little bit of black as,well to just add to those lines there so,now we're gonna go on to hair I'm going,to make my hair look as crazy as,possible so taking it out off my hair, tie and I'm just gonna give it a quick, brush first and then I'm going to,commence teasing so you just want to,pick your hair up grab a piece of hair, and you want to backcomb so climb down, you want to look it's crazy as possible, obviously, just keep tasing until you're out like, the desired I guess madness that you, don't know if you did I'm just using my,table teaser but you've got a crime or,anything like that it's a little bit, easier I think that's probably pretty, good now what I want to do is hairspray, almost like it's blowing back so I've,just got some trust in my hairspray here,I'm just gonna I'm just gonna hairspray, and scrunch to try and get some more, written texture into it if you just kind,of spray the hairspray on and then just, push it back now I'm also wanting to,make it look like it's exploded into my,hair so I've got some dry shampoo here, that I'm gonna spray on top of that, hairspray pretty liberally just a,suggestion you can't do that outside you, well ventilated area we're gonna change, into my outfit and I will be right back, and show you the final product hey, everyone so this is the final look I'm,back I've got my mad scientist overalls,on these are just painting overalls that,I got from actually my husband's work, don't tell them but you can get them, from like the hardware store probably, even some, cheaply shops you'd be able to get, painting overalls from if you liked this, video give it a big thumbs up for me I'd,really appreciate it if you want to see, more of my last minute Halloween costume, tutorials and costume ideas click the, subscribe button welcome to another mad science lecture, today we're going to be going over, costume 101 now to begin with you're,going to want to base underneath fur, blue white to give with the standard, aspect of science an oxford shirt is by,far a very very good underneath the half, button it unbuttoned doesn't really, matter tucking a part of it in tucking, all over there tucking it in and, abnormal legs fitting for the mad, scientist, another aspect, and, pretty much guaranteed need is the lab, coat, unless you wanted, some type of other suit environmental, suit, now with the lab coat, involved on some type of neckwear, something's striking something together,a good feel,to the whole of the costume don't like, ties don't know how to tie one,clip-ons work or even go for the, emergency bowtie,in all those situations, bowties are a bit more complex and time,so clip-ons the way to go,generally you want it,underneath like everything else or just, hang depending on the moon, another aspect gloves, not necessary in all situations, especially for former formal events but, definitely depending on the glove itself, and give them points of good little, aspect contradiction in color, just something, striking noticeable something to,possibly draw the eyes away from your, possible failure putting on a bowtie, but a component that is very acceptable, very useful nonetheless especially with, handling five or drives another aspect I,wear, now get these a few different places on,the Internet,just,easy-to-make standard little guards, doubling of sunglasses but peripheral, vision is very very cut off here so they, are effective they're good if you're,wearing like this most the time, and you could look out as we have find, some old Tom attrition glasses these can, have a very striking aspect very very,well-to-do but with these they don't,tend to stay on the face so a lot of,time they'll end up there as another, cosmetic aspect in costume as a whole, another thing for a cheaper route, standard safety goggles paint them up a,different color voila you have your, goggles and I no longer have a bowtie, who could tell they're paying attention,to the goggles now plus about these the, holes on the side I can see my hands, here this time right with the others I,could other aspects, test tubes beakers different things to,carry around with yourself have a little, bit of your mad drinks on hand to,disperse amongst others or to help, yourself either way, white good color to go with especially,in the presence of certain colored life, thank you

Mad Scientist Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Mad Scientist Halloween Makeup Tutorial

hey you it is so good to see you have, you lost weight you you've totally been, working out well listen since you're,here grab some jello that'll be funny, later and you know let's let's get a,little weird what do you say if you, haven't noticed already we're gonna, start this tutorial actually with our, hair I'm gonna show you fools how to,make it look like half of your hair has, been burnt off in a chemical fire by a,mad scientist mwah ah all I've done so,far is changed my part to be severely, over toward one side and then I'm using,Vaseline to really slick down that hair,so that it fits under the bald cap, perfectly mmm Vaseline hands then, securing the sleekness with a couple, bobby pins next up I'm grabbing the, master of hotness that is the latex bald, cap I'm gonna cut a little piece off and,put it where I want to cover my hair so,that it looks like it's been burnt off,and then later in this tutorial I'm,gonna pull a couple pieces of stringing, hair to make it look extra creepy once,my placement is where I want it to be,I'm going to secure that with some bobby, pins as well using spirit gum we're,gonna make sure the sticks to our face, when you're using spirit gum you want to,make sure that you put it directly on to,the area that you want it to stick and,tap it with your fingers as that will, oxidize the glue and make it tacky no,taffy no tacky I've already conjured up,a batch of gelatin which is what I'm,gonna use to make my skin look burned, and chemically and gross if you've never, worked with gelatin before I'll put the, recipe down and my subject line below it,is wonderfully effective and, disgustingly gross all at once suck it,up buttercup we got a Halloween tutorial,to do I wanted my mad scientist's burned,to be sort of a mixture between chemical, and fire maybe like this wasn't even the, first time he had scarred himself with, his concoctions I don't know I don't,know why I'm calling him he he's she, whatever anyway dripping that gelatin, down the latex bald cap and onto my face,my nose later onto my lip I'm also, covering my brows with the gelatin the, drips seem to be the best way to get, that chemical almost like Deadpool kind,of scar edge because once it dries it,creates these perfect skin melting, cavity depressions in the burn the more, dry the gelatin gets the harder it's,going to be to work with because it's,going to,becoming almost like a plastic, consistency so you may have to reheat it,in the microwave a couple times just, eight seconds at a time and stir stir, stir you'll be fine then you're just, gonna keep on keeping on drip away and,so you get exactly the right burn, coverage once you're done messing around, with your drips you're gonna make sure, that you set it with the translucent, powder for fun I popped in my crazy camo,I've read contact that I love and of,course grab my Kat Von D foundation to,even out the skin tone of the burn I,added a drop of red food coloring in,with my gelatin because I wanted it to,look a little bit pink like irritated, flesh but then I only want that to peek, through which is why I'm covering it,with the foundation so that I can take, some away and it'll give it a little, dimension so I wet my brush here and, what I'm doing is just softly taking, away some of that foundation to do,exactly what I just said just adding to,the realism of the look using my makeup, forever flash palette which is somehow, covered in glitter it never goes away,I am incorporating some reds and browns,to add some more depth I began using, that stipple sponge at first and then I,hated my life so I switch back to my,brush I wanted to be sure that I also, got the area of my neck that wasn't,covered with the gelatin obviously that, would have been affected by the burn too,but maybe not as directly so I did add, some variation of color in a burn, looking pattern there as well funny, story I have a real burn on my neck, right there from a coffee accident when,I was a toddler, you know I didn't drink the coffee yes I,did pour it all over my face and neck so,it was kind of fun to incorporate that, into the look a little leg up or I guess, chin up in this case using a smaller, just paintbrush from the craft store I'm,going into the really deep parts and, adding a dark dark brown which will, later be filled with kind of a green, toxic looking unidentified puffiness and, probably a little blood as well I did, struggle a little bit with what type of,green texture and color I wanted to,incorporate obviously this is sort of a,fantasy chemical toxic burn that a mad, scientist would inflict on himself with, the crazy concoctions he,conjuring in his lab again with the heat, pronoun I guess it really is supposed to,be a he character and my favorite combo, ended up being Kat Von D's metal crush, shadow an electric warrior on top of a,little bit of Vaseline then to make it,look like the smoke went everywhere, except for where my glasses were at the, time of the explosion,I kind of cocked them to one side and, then traced around them and that's where, the black is gonna go now my little, bananas I promise to always be honest, with you about products these glasses, were sent to me by a company who wanted,to collaborate on a look so I sent them,my concept for the look design this, entire Mad Hatter series basically, around these glasses because I thought, they looked like goggles that a mad, scientist would use I wanted to,incorporate it with 31 days of Halloween, after posting the look the company, decided that they wanted to disassociate, completely with it that it didn't,represent their brand in a way that they, were happy with and that nobody would, want to buy this product based on this, look needless to say as soon as they, asked me to untag them in the photo and,not mention them in the audio recording,I had already finished I was a little, bit unhappy with this company and I'm,not telling you this to create any sort,of drama or to get attention I'm telling, you this because I always want to be,honest with you and the truth is I love, these glasses I wear them all the time, and I would love to tell you where to go,out and buy them even if just to prove, them wrong but I cannot the end of a,very long and slightly boring story you, don't know much rather talk about lips, always yeah I'm gonna outline and, slightly fill in my lips with this, electric green liner from NYX cuz,Halloween then I'm gonna use that same,Kat Von D metallic shadow and that, bright lime green amazing color I had, mixed a little bit of Mae Ron's mixing, fluid with it so that it glided on my,lips a little better especially since, they're super dry right now took down, that hair that I had pinned back and I'm,gonna take a couple pieces of hair and,put them over that bald cap to hide the, pieces that I didn't cover with makeup, and using a little Vaseline to make it,look PC and burnt and crispy and gross, when all said and done this is really, going to add to the realism of the burnt, look at some point I felt like the lips, were a little too simple and it needed, something, extra so I did add some more gelatin, over my lip and now I'm going in with my,Ron's blood gel which is amazing filling,in a couple of those little crevices, making the wounds look deeper and more, fresh which might very well be the, grossest sentence I've ever said you, know you guys are swell for sticking, with me for the holes, seven minutes in 30 seconds of this, tutorial if you really want to make my,Halloween dreams come true give it a,like give it a subscribe if you like, this mad scientist look as always the, products are listed below,I so appreciate all of your love and, support and I hope you've enjoyed 31,days of Halloween I love you guys so,much, muah bye bye

MAD SCIENTIST COSTUME

MAD SCIENTIST COSTUME

like the fact the graveyard keepers guys, today what we're gonna do,man my girl here we're gonna make you, some bloody nurses or worldly clothing,or patient clothing man how are you all, look at it we're going to we're going to,rip it up in just a little bit and throw, some paint on it and make some blood,I've got a different way of mixing blood, and why should I have we're gonna make, the blood for this but the poxy a new, calling so let's get started going hurt, and I'll show you how I rip this up,never done it before so it's gonna be,the first time with with me on the, different style that I'm going to do,this time the last time I made something, clothing I used a grinder and I last I'm,not gonna do it on this one here we're,gonna we're gonna purchase a different, leg so stick around watch that and say, what we're gonna do,this week our black and brown paint on,there and I see probably used whatever, kind of painted one you don't want to do,the dirty lucky to do something else so,what we got yeah just some epoxy and,we're going to mix some of this love it,makes it look and what this is is a,five-minute epoxy is clear it's a,two-part epoxy so what it is you got, like a one's a hardener so once you mix, that you only got a little bit of time,to mess with that and with these with, the epoxy in there these come with a,little mixer so you can mix your own, stuff in there or your that side, whichever you want to do so we're going,to mix some of this we're gonna put some, blood on her right did since I don't,have another food coloring cuz I've,misplaced it so I got some red paint and,I put just a little bit of blue in there, just to darken that red up I hope you,can see that that's gonna make it good, good blood so I don't know sure how this,is going to work because I'm using epoxy, and water-based paint so we're gonna, give it a shot so I'm gonna mix up some, epoxy put a little bit of paint in there, and we're gonna smooth on this girl here, see how it looks, okay this is what I came up with Gus can,you see yeah that's epoxy and pink mixed, together,so now we're just gonna take a paint, brush on this and go together,oh I know you see the makeup on I am no,way shape or form a makeup artist I,don't even know what I used his up in my,wife's bag so hopefully I can wash it,off anyway I have an old mask and I went, ahead and painted it so it's still a,little tacky but it's just driving up,enough where I think I can put it on and,put this mask on let's do a little tacky,we'll get a few more mrs. dryer and guys, you can also make a half of these I just, threw one together but you can just, stick over the head and pull back and,get that out of the way I just stuck, this together cut it out and made it,where you can pull it back over your, head or however you want to do it and so,you can make your own you can make your, own mask and your own headband if you, want and your own I mean there's all, kind of stuff you can do with the gosset,so,maybe we should put a little black on,that Disick kind of killer killer caller,we will add a little blood to the mask, not much just a little bit,now guys when you put this on things, gonna stink but I'm just telling you, this is one way you can you can do stuff, and we're gonna try this on and see how,it works we're gonna let it dry a little, bit and put this sucker on I'm gonna be,your your Nernst model today or orderly,or whatever do you want to call it and,I've got my makeup on I know I'm the, great I'm a great artist with the makeup, and everything so I'll do a tutorial on,what not to do on the makeup yeah I,guess one will let this dry a little bit,and we're gonna try the one in,government so there you go guys this is,another outfit that you can make early, cheap I made this I just thought some, extra shirt a hat I cut an extra shirt I,head up with this collar because the, rest of our different colors and I just, stood around my hand put a rubber band,in it so a little bit black paint on the, same way with the sleeves and red paint, and some epoxy and red paint and just, did it up look me up us some paint this, collar so it kind of matches this, because uh the mask ahem was kind of,brown a point which it would have, mattered spreading a little bit of blood,on it and you'll be fine but there you,go guys, there's how you can make you a thank you,a zombie doctor costume so if you need a,shot let me know I'm up for the, challenge and then this is a real one, what these are for guys I used to use I,used to do taxidermy so I've used my,could inject these into like birds feet, and different stuff like that so I,wouldn't use that as a prop but there's,an option you can take the needle off,and put your fake one on we need a shot, there you go guys we hope you enjoyed, the video I'm not usually one, putting on a costume and and stuff like,it I do kind of doing that but just an,easy way to show you how you can make, your own things fairly cheap I might, have a total of 10 bucks in this outfit, that's Bond outfit bind up clocks in the, paint you probably you can do even cheap,me find do for 5 bucks I think I got, each outfit for like maybe a buck at a,quarter buck 50 or something like it,from a thrift store and I've got party, another six seven sets that I'm going to,go ahead and I'll make those up in,costumes as well and we're having for,aha whenever we get ready for a hunt and,I go for me all right guys we appreciate, you watching don't forget to Like share, subscribe and go or check out my,brothers my treat my other gun check my, so there you go guys go check out,my brothers in arms Keith's thick, cobwebs and candlesticks and Dave with, the weird kid show go show them some, support and love and like I seriously, scrap to their Channel and as always, guys don't have to be perfect just build,it alright guys we hope you enjoyed this, episode of building a doctor's costume a,zombie doctor's costume and we'll see,you on next view thanks for watching, guys

Mad Scientist Contraption DIY...If I don't kill myself first..

Mad Scientist Contraption DIY...If I don't kill myself first..

welcome back horror fans to the weird, kid horse show I am your host the weird, kid today I am gonna show you how you,can make your very own mad scientist, contraption you can use it for Halloween,or if you're weird like me a year-round,prop decoration check it out,hey guys welcome to the first ever weird, kid show how-to video where today I'm,gonna show you how to make your own mad, scientist contraption or at least show, you how I made a mad scientist, contraption now right off the bat you're,gonna say but DJ you're using real, insulators how am I supposed to get, insulators, well I lucked out I found some abandoned,on the side of the road after the power, company had gone through and replaced, poles but I understand they're not, easily found an alternative corrugated, looking toilet plungers that's right a,toilet plunger and if you look at them, they're really cool because they're,corrugated on the bottom like a,insulator but then it has a long stem, with a round ball at the end of it which,is really cool because you could either, cut that off and put on a ping-pong ball, that you paint black and dry a brush, copper to make it look like a conductor,or you can just leave it on there and, paint it copper to look like a conductor, you could even have like coiled wires, coming out of it and everything else but, anyways they're super cheap and super, light so that's a good alternative step, one was using some scrap wood that I had, lying around I made mine two and a half, feet tall by two feet wide and I cut all, four sides and then screwed it together, with some wood screws and then I cut up,the extra wood to cover the entire top,to have the control panel surface so now, that my box was together I could start,to really work and assemble this thing I,chose to work on the top first,I took the insulators and I measured it,out to make sure that they were somewhat, even and with a paddle bit as you can,see on the drill I drilled holes so that, the threads that are attached to the, bottom of the insulators could just slip,in through the holes they were heavy, enough and, snug enough to where I didn't have to,like permanently attach them that way I,can take them out when I want to move it,and they weren't gonna go anywheres, after that I took a plasma ball which I,had bought at Walmart for under 20 bucks, and I had centered it on the top and, then I traced around it you could, technically glue it to the top if you, wanted to I wanted to kind of recess it,into the box to make it look like it was, part of the contraption that it was, coming from up inside I chose to cut, around it so that I could snug it down, inside a little bit once I traced out,the base of the plasma ball I took the, paddle bit and drilled a pilot hole so,that I could take my saw and cut out, that section once that was done I could, start gathering all the parts and pieces,I needed to start assembling this thing,I had managed to get some electrical, gauges off of ebay if you look you can,get lots like four or five for one lower, price and if you were to buy one I,picked out a few different kinds to use,on this if you can't find electrical, gauges you know use what you can go to,Walmart and go into the bike section or,the automotive section and look for, pressure gauges usually you can get, small ones for pretty cheap look at,different components that people throw,in the side of the road stereo systems,or anything that has knobs and buttons, you can find old toggle switches, whatever you can find and scrounge just, use your imagination there is no wrong, way so apart from the plasma ball I,wanted another feature I wanted a,bubbler where it appears like there's,some kind of a compound being made or,some kind of an element maybe that's,what this machine is doing as its, processing and make endless aging or,element or compound whatever it is,that's going on there Walmart has these, bottles and there are only 98 cents, apiece yeah all kinds of different, colors purple green clear and charcoal, and they're super cheap and they come in,super handy and they have a metal top,and a bottom which can,the top screws off obviously but the, bottom can also slip off which comes in,handy as well so I bought a couple of,those and then the next step that I had,to do was to cut a hole in the front so,that I could put them in the back so,that you could see them through the, front and in order to support that I,needed to take a piece of wood and screw,it into the back so that it had, something you could firmly secure it to,in the back after meticulously figuring, out where I want to set all my,components into the control panel I took, each piece and I put them face down onto, the panel itself and then traced around,it this is where you need to cut your, hole to recess it into the panel the, outside line is just a reference though, because each piece has a lip on it if,you will that sits on the top of the, panel so we don't want to cut around, that tracing line we want to cut within, quarter of an inch inside of the tracing,to relieve some material to be able to,set the component gauge whatever that, you're sitting in there so that you'll,be able to fit it in snug so one thing, that I had was this I guess it's like a,vacuum gauge and there really was not, much of a lip on it so I ended up,cutting it just within the line to try,to get it fit in snug however it was too, loose and was moving around so I had to,take some wood and attach it and screw,it in from the back so that it had some, kind of a frame around it that I was, able to use some epoxy resin to glue it,glue it into place basically with that, done I was finally able to move on to,the toggle switches now toggle switches, are designed to go on to very thin, control panels, you're supposed to drill a hole you put,the thread in through with the toggle, switch side comes out and then you're,able to screw a nut over the top of that, however this is thick wood so I'm unable,to do that so what I had to do was to,drill a hole trace out the toggle switch, and then cut around so that I could fit,the toggle switch into the wood which is,cheating I know but then with the cover, that goes on top I'm still able to put,the nut on and you can't tell the, difference especially what we do to hide,up any flaws afterwards so at this point,my contraption is starting to take shape, with all the gauges and voltage meters, and all my components glued into the, front of the panel then I can start, moving on to some more finer details so,at this point in time I Drive fitted, everything put the insulators on put the, plasma ball in the position I wanted it,to be but I wanted to add some more, elements,I found this black hose and these caps,I'm not quite sure where they came from, but you can use even soda bottle caps if,you want as long as you paint them and,dry brush them maybe alter them a little, bit you can use anything like I said and,I will continue to say there is no wrong, way anyways I went and took these caps, and I measured them out and I JB welded, them to the top and to the plasma ball,to serve as connection points what's the,jb weld was dry I was able to fit the, hose on there they are not glued they, don't need to be they just slip on and,off and there was enough tension to keep, them in place so the next thing I did,was to work on the bubble system the, bottles as I stated previously the metal, bottom will slide off it might have a,little bit of resistance but if you work,it it'll pop off after dry fitting them, and to get the correct position I took, the caps off and then I drilled a hole, and screwed it to the wooden base that I,had attached earlier so that it makes a,permanent resting place for the bottles,to slide into, the next thing I wanted to do was to add,my light source which I wanted to come, from above and permeate down into the, bottles for that I used this headlamp, that I found and I cut off the elastic, headband portion of it and then as you,can see in the photos I have a little, nipple that's sticking out from behind, one of the pressure gauges I was able to,zip tie it to that after that I looked,at the front of this thing and realized, that there was light permeating through, the cracks of the bottles you could see, what was behind it and I didn't want, that so then I took some black material, and draped it over everything and, stapled it in place and then the final, thing I did to keep the curtain and, everything snug was to cut some velcro, strips staple that in there so that I,could velcro everything together and, keep everything in place before I,started getting into the detail though, one thing I did real quickly was to,drill a hole near the back of the plasma, ball so that I could fit the power cord,up through hey what do you know it's,finally starting to look like something, but now we're going to get into the fun, part two details one of the first things,I do is to use these sheets of craft, foam you can pretty much get them, anywhere where they have a craft section,I get mine at Walmart and it's pretty, cheap they come in a pack of I think, three two or three and it's going to,come in handy throughout this project, the first thing I did was to cut it into, two and a half inch strips but you can,cut it in any size that suits your, project I kind of wish I had used an,epoxy but I didn't have it at the time, and I wasn't gonna take the time to mix,up some jb weld to put on those things,so I just used regular Elmer's glue I,then bought some packages of a post tree, tax I did get two kinds because I wasn't,sure which one I wanted to use but I,ended up using all of them and it didn't,matter when I painted it at the end, anyways you couldn't tell but these, serve as like a rivet if you will to go,along all the edges and almost look like, there's been a metal edge put on and,it's been, riveted into the contraption once it's,painted it's super effective after I put,all the edges on I then cut a strip of,the craft foam cut holes in it and fit,it over the toggle switches and then I,was able to screw down the nut with the, little on/off switch plate and then I,was able to go in behind and put some, rivets to tie it all in together all, right it's at this point in time that I,start to get super excited because the, main contraption is put together all the, elements are there of course any kind of,Halloween hogs or prop you gotta have, some kind of lighting I ended up picking,up a bunch of these Halloween string, lights that are battery-powered at the, dollar store when you see them grab them, grab a bunch of them they're great you,can do a lot with them I picked up some, white ones and then I picked up the, purple ones and I went ahead and start, drilling holes so they can start, sticking the wires and the little bulbs,in little places hiding them all over, the place to start illuminating these, gauges after finishing the lining I,focused on finishing the bubbler I had, this old fish tank pump sitting around, you can find them in the pet section of,Walmart they're reasonably cheap I,picked up some fish tank hose a fish, tank splitter to fishtank bubblers, they're the little connectors that go at,the end of the hose I then drilled a,hole in the top of the bottle caps so,that I could run the hose down and, through unscrewing the caps,I ran the hose through and then, connected the bubbler on the end of the, hoses and then I filled them up with, water tied everything in together and, then I plugged in the fish tank pump to,check to see if it worked and it does, and it looks pretty cool if you ask me,now that I was finished with the bubbler,it was time to trick this thing out and,I went ahead and I cut some more of that, craft foam and made borders around where, the bubbler was and added rivets and I,added some craft foam around the vacuum, gauge that I have underneath the toggle, switches with some added rivets just to,make it pop a little bit more then once, everything was finished and I was happy, with how everything look, then it was time to paint so I took some, black acrylic paint and I completely, coated the entire thing once that was, given a chance to dry I took some of the, black paint and I mixed in a little bit,of white to give it a charcoal color not,too light and not too dark and then I,did a dry brush over the entire thing, now I know there's a lot of YouTube, videos on how to dry brush but if you, want me to show you how I try brush, please post a comment down below asking,me to do a how-to on dry brushing at,this point in time you could just stop, there if you like the way it looks then, stop me I like to go a step further and, make it look decrepit and nasty and, rusty after all it's a mad scientist, laboratory and whatever they do probably, doesn't entail good hygiene so the last, thing I did was I picked up this color, from folk art called Pueblo to me it,looked like a rust so very gently I did,the dry brush technique and went and, covered all these areas like the, recessed areas edges and just kind of,made this thing really grimy decayed and, decrepit and with that I was done and I,was really happy with the finished, product and I hope you like it too and I,would really love to see if you guys, make your own mad scientist contraption, and share the photos with me and I would, really love to see what you come up with,if you enjoyed this tutorial let me know, down in the comments I'm more than happy,to do more I've done other mad scientist, contraptions I enjoy doing them and, would be more than happy to do more so,please comment down below and let me,know and share with me what you come up,with, welcome back guys I hope you enjoyed, that and remember you can make your mad, site this contraption of out of almost, anything there are no rules there's no,wrong way you can make it with any part, okay

Mad Scientist 5 minute prop build. Kenneth Strickfaden inspired.

Mad Scientist 5 minute prop build. Kenneth Strickfaden inspired.

welcome back fence and a weird kid, horse show I am your host a weird kid, today I'm gonna do a quick super easy, super inexpensive tutorial on how you,can make insulator coils for your mad, scientist contraption or your Halloween, prop just using dollar start cutting, super cheap they're the dollar to get a,whole pack of these things I'll show you, what you can do in the car so this is,the last time you're gonna see my face, work so let's get going,so yes you can buy these they're plastic, wine glasses you can buy them at the, dollar store if you need to do a price, check so he got the first part of your, wine glass pretty simple right we're,gonna set that right there just like, that, all the bases normally stick them in,there this is broke you're gonna want a,little stem so you're gonna take this, yeah when you buy them examine okay so,this is what you do you simply slide it,in well we're not gonna do that we're,gonna turn this into a contraption, something that you can use for Halloween, well I showed you guys when I did my,Frankenstein contraption I hadn't gotten,my hands on real insulating coils, insulators from the power come it,replaced a bunch of holes so I was able,to snag a bunch of a month and I know, that you're not gonna have access to,that so I'm gonna show you a real cheap, and inexpensive way of doing it the, other thing that I had suggested is,Walmart among many other places carries, these toilet plungers they look like, insulating insulators and that's another, option too but I'm going to show you, something here real super quick and easy,I'm gonna give you the material list and, everything all right so first thing we,need is super well you need the cops, when he's super blue,i'ma turn this thing upside down and, then the first thing I'm gonna do is,rather than putting it on the way it's,supposed to go I'm gonna put it on,upside down in order to do that just, need to put a little drop, super glue stick it right on there get,the first one started say it hold that,on there and get it I think I might use, something on the nerd another package at,$1 a package you just can't go wrong,it comes with six classes they have, different shapes and sizes this one here, has you can use either or if you wanna,do me I like this one,so that's what I'm gonna go watch there, alright so got a bunch of these things, together I'm gonna even go a bit more, put these all together you can blow them,if you want,I really don't think it's necessary and, then the last thing is when do okay so,that's the basic that's the basic thing, that you're gonna end up that can go on,your you want to make sure that it's in,place I'm gonna leave that in there I,know when we do props thinks they can go,wrong you know things can fall apart on,you,I can get mad just throw the stuff, around and get all pissed off and, everything but no you just you get okay, because you take a step back then walk, away from a project for a bit and then, come back to it jobs will have to be,patient correctly and then only come, back the sink should all be glued, together and dried and then we can move,on to the pill, all right we're back guys so this is one,of those cases where superglue is not a,fan of this type of plastic hold it on,there and let it cure really good for it,to bond so in this case I don't have any, might want to use two-part epoxy just, for the initial attachment okay so I've,got this glue it's curing I'm gonna put,it aside okay we're gonna work on and,I've already painted the ping-pong ball, flat black okay this is what's gonna go,on the very top this is the inductor, okay so we got the insulator, and then on top is conductor now on the, conductor you could have this is where, all the juice is this is where the, electricity is you can have an electrode, coming out of it or anything out coil, wires going to some kind of a device or,whatever but for me I just the first, thing I do is I paint it black and then,I take antique copper and then with that,I just I'm gonna do a dry brush on it's,not gonna go crazy, most most mad scientist contraption we,look at them in any kind of a movie, they're all like worn down and beat up,and I think that's been by design you, know it's to give it more scary ambience, you know to look more menacing,so I'm dry brushing this thing in copper, copper is a very conductive material and, that's why you'll see a lot of it and,you know like copper or the lead wires,on a Jacob's Ladder and it's used a lot,but speaking of contractions,mad-scientist contractions does anybody, know the origin of mad scientist control,we could go back to the silent film, metropolis there was quite a set up in,there as far as set design a lot of high, voltage, but there is one individual that should,be a household name but is it so I'm,here to educate you if you watch the, original Frankenstein with Boris Karloff, and you look in the laboratory where the, creation was brought to life it's alive, its alive look at all the bombs and,high-voltage machinery that's in that, room that's all because of one man this, man's name was Kenneth strick fat and, test Kenneth strick Patton got his start,as amusement park electrician turned mad, scientist he used to build all these, high voltage toys if he will these,Jacobs ladders and smart gaps and Tesla, coils and they were all used all of his, devices were used in the original,Frankenstein sadly the man was never, credited for it I don't agree with that,at all,but he wasn't credit important because, after that he was asked to take part in,tremendous amount of sci-fi film, you can see his contraptions and just, about everything so I suggest to educate, yourself on this man because let's face,it when you were a kid I know when I was,a kid and if I was to draw a mad, scientist laboratory the props and, scenery and devices that I were drawn, were tennis mcfadden influence that's,that's where that came from okay so I've,taken my ping pong balls and I've,painted it black first and then I went, ahead and try brushed it in copper so,now it looks like a little copper block, and I think we're dry enough here so I'm,gonna go ahead and attach the remaining, coil okay so now it's starting to look, like something right this is gonna go on,top and there you have the makings of a,mad scientist insulator coil with a,condenser on it but we're gonna go step, further we're gonna paint this thing I'm,all gonna make it look more,Maria if you will so I'll take you over, here we're gonna go ahead and pick this, all right so we got this thing all ready,to go I got my me I like to use the,rust-oleum it's a 2 x ultra cover paint, and primer and I as I said I went with a,satin finish and the first thing I want,to do is paint the underside of these, ribs those gonna be the hardest to get,at go ahead and dust them slowly turning, this thing as I go along even coverage, getting up there real good, sure there's nothing left no clear, plastic now I say dusting just because, you know really if you don't have much, experience with spray paint you don't,want to get on there and stay in one, spot you want to dust it and the reason, that is is because if you stick a can of,paint and,you know boss that you're gonna have, some drips and that's not gonna you, don't want that you want nice clean, coding so it's better to dust it as I,say and then if you need to come back, and repaint it again out or you can all, right so all right so I got the first, part painted I must let it dry cause I,need to be able to handle that to get,the rest of it so I'm gonna go ahead and, stop and then we'll come back and finish, that part okay it's dry enough well I,can hold this end of it so I'm just go,ahead and wash the rest of it,Dustin Dustin as I say Dustin even coats, those look too heavy just want to get, even coat, and there we have it we're gonna let, this dry and then we're gonna go ahead, and attach our ball so we got it all, painted this table is crooked so it,might look crooked but I sure you it's,not the last thing that we're gonna need,to do is just simply glue our ping-pong,ball on the top stick it right on top,and there you go guys, there's your tennis trick patent, inspired insulator with condensing, condenser on the end of it now that you,can do two but you have to be really, careful with this type of bicycle it,cracks really easy is once you get it,mounted on whatever it is that you're,using it for me I like to build two of,these and put them in between something,a focal point like maybe it's a brain in,a jar something a plasma ball or,something electrical I like to put one,on each side of it and then do it the, same way but you could drill a little, hole in here and then run me I like to,use, their cord that you can buy at Walmart,it looks like wires and you can paint, whatever color you want that way you can,see wires coming out of it they go into, the machine or whatever it is that, you're doing but there you have it it's,super easy and it'll look real good on,your prop and it's super inexpensive so,so let me know what you think down in,the comments and if you haven't done so,already like and subscribe this is just,uh I call it a 5-minute build something, super easy but I've got some bigger more,in-depth props coming so please like and, subscribe and click that bell it's gonna, let you know when I upload again so I,appreciate you and until next time peace
