How To Make A Super Easy Octopus Halloween Costume

How To Make A Super Easy Octopus Halloween Costume

hey guys today I am so excited to,finally starting our Halloween costumes, the plan this year is for well Porter is,obsessed with octopus octopi whatever, you want okay so I looked on Pinterest, and I found some ideas that I'm kind of,going to mix together they mostly, include green oh he has to be a green, octopus so I'm going to make I got some, this fabric to make green arms and I,kind of have like polka dots on it maybe, kind of like suction cups on on octopus, and then I got him this green shirt from, the thrift store and then Thomas Piper, she wants to be a mermaid so I found, some super awesome mermaid like scaly, fabric at the fabric store and this is,going to be paired with it as kind of,the backing and yeah I am NOT the most, wonderful crafter I kind of don't like, patterns and things like that also I,really don't know how to follow a,pattern really so what I like to do when,I make my costumes for the kids is to,find ideas online and just match them, together and hopefully things work out I,like experimenting I think it's,um yeah anyway we're gonna get started I,think I don't know what I'm going to,start with I think I'm going to start on,reporters first because I kind of need,to measure Piper for this either way, this is going to be fun let's get, started, okay people I think this is going to be,great I finish all of our legs so now we,have six octopus tentacles, this is Porter's shirt then I'm going to,attach them to somehow not quite sure, how and then this is my extra fabric, that is not actually I'm going to use, this fabric to extend his sleeves so,that these two arms will make eight, octopus arms so I got to do that and, then I think I'm going to get him a like, oversized beanie so that's like kind of,like all big and slumpy and I'm going to,put some eyeballs on the Hat so that he,can have like a big octopus mantle head, better than that really this is it for,the costume I'm really excited about, this let's keep going sewed mmm nice out,his legs just like straight up onto his, shirt I don't know if you can tell but, when we um I kind of stood them like, folded the ends up and it sort of cross, upside down so that they would flop over, and just have this clean seam ish when,we put it on Porter it kind of pulls the, shirt down too much I'm going to redo, all these arms I'm going to sew up up a,lot higher like lined up with his, sleeves almost like the buttons of his, shirt so that they just have a little, bit more support but pretty much that's,going to I'm really close to being done, with his I'm going to resew replace, these arms and then I need to put the, ones on the back of the shirt and then,I'm going to figure out some way to make, the sleeves on his arms look cool and, maybe I won't get one I don't know I,finished sewing on out like oh I,finished showing on all his arms, ended up putting his arms just mostly, like in the front it looks pretty silly, but it works um I put most of his arms,in the front so we have eight arms, including his actual arms again I'm not,the most crafty person or the most, creative but all I only need for an,octopus costume eight arms and a big, head and that's pretty much it I decided,to not put any of the arms on the back,of the shirt just because that's kind of,how it turned out and I think it'll be,easier for him to maneuver in the car,and sitting and things like that with, all the arms in front and that's just, kind of how it worked out so I like it,and I like having a full shirt of arms, rather than like three spaced out in the, front and then three in the back but,we're really excited about our octopus, costume I hope this helps any of you, guys with ideas of how to do your, costumes or how to do an octopus costume,if you're kids into those too that's it,for today guys I hope you liked this,Pinterest Friday and let me know what, you think in the comments we'll see you,on Monday, bye see it oh look at that big carryin a,pumpkin is he in that pumpkin that is,hilarious you see him chomping up that, one guy, yummy

How To Make Tentacles - Halloween Prop Tutorial

How To Make Tentacles - Halloween Prop Tutorial

hey,how you doing, today i'm going to show you how i made, these tentacles, using pool noodles let's do it first up,you're going to need, some pool noodles then to make the, tentacles posable we need to build a,wire armature, just roll out the wire and cut it so,that it is slightly longer than, the actual pole noodle itself then just, glue it in place with some gorilla glue, and clamp it,overnight and now it is in there nice, and secure, next we need to shape the tip of the, tentacle for this i'm just taking a very, sharp utility knife, and shaving away the pool noodle until,it's a shape that i,like, now for all these ridges for this i'm,going to be using, some monofilament fishing line i,basically just cut a really long piece, and wrap it around and around and around,in the spot where i want the ridge to be,and i just pull it tight as i go and the, more layers i wrap it around the more it,gets pulled together, and then i just tie it off a few times, like this, for the suction cups i used suction cups,i'll link the exact ones i'm using right, here in the description, down below to attach them i first went,in and poked the holes where i wanted, them to go,with a pair of scissors, then i just squirted a little bit of,some hot glue in the hole, and pushed the little nub on the back of,the suction cup, right down into it the hot glue melts, the foam a little bit, opening the hole up a little bit wider, and then once it cools down the suction, cup,is nice and secure, next i apply a thin coat of contact, cement over the entire tentacle,i'm doing this because we're eventually, going to cover in latex and this is,going to help the latex adhere down to,the foam as well as the suction cups, now i go ahead and mix up two colors of,liquid latex,to color the latex i'm just using some, acrylic paint,i use some dark blue as well as some, light blue but this is where you can, really get creative with the colors, now mold builder is my preferred latex,of choice you can find it at hobby lobby, and michaels and amazon it's super thick, which is why i love it,i just mix it in with the acrylic paints, really well, you don't have to add too too much of,the paint here we're not trying to make,it super opaque just slightly tint the, latex that way you can still see through,it a bit when it dries,i first applied a solid coat of blue, over the entire tentacle, after that i worked on one side of the, tentacle at a time, first putting a coat of light blue on,the side with the suckers and i'm just, stippling it on here as opposed to,brushing it on,and then i would let this coat, completely dry where i would then flip,it over it put, dark blue on the other side and then i,would flip back and forth doing each, color overlapping them on the side just,a little bit to help blend it together,i repeated this enough times to have six, layers of latex over the entire, tentacle, once all the latex had dried it looked, like this the last thing to do was to,add, some white latex to the inside of all,the suction cups, once this dried the tentacles were, complete, what do you think i love them,if you liked this video make sure you, subscribe,i do lots of cool things like this all,the time that's all i got for you today, though so,stay safe and i'll see you guys real, soon, you

How To Transform Yourself Into Ursula (Costume Tutorial)

How To Transform Yourself Into Ursula (Costume Tutorial)

today actually i thought i was gonna, share a tutorial, because for halloween i wanted to be,ursula,hi guys guess what we're doing today i,know,my channel is about how to say things, right but you know what,it's halloween and my family is big,on halloween well when my kids were, growing up they loved dressing up they, loved halloween, and so i became involved and now i,myself, like to dress up for halloween so i've,always been, wanting to be ursula i wanted to be,ursula,so bad last year but i didn't get to i,was, jellicle cat last year so this year i,thought,i was gonna go for my,favorite villain because she's just so,really she will invade your space with, her character, her look her voice and i went, online and aside from the costumes, being very expensive if you bought them, ready to wear,i went online and looked at some, tutorials, and well so many talented people out, there so wow, thumbs up to all of you but i had, something in mind that i,really wanted to bring to life with, very little budget of course you still, end up,spending quite an amount of money but,it's not as expensive,as if you were buying it ready-made and,so,i bought a black material i brought, lining material so it's a little less, expensive i bought it from, fabricana this is the one,and then i bought a purple fabric which,is,a little shiny and it's lining material, two yards three yards that's enough the, width i would say the width for um for,the black,is um 60 inches and that's that's why i,needed only two yards, now this one the width for this purple, fabric is 44 inches so i had to buy, three now we're gonna start cutting, okay so first let's make the tentacles,so from the top,of the tentacle to the bottom that,measures,53 inches you can even go lower i mean, you can go,longer than that and then you can spread, the um tentacle more you can straighten,it more, but in my case i wanted it to really be,curvy already, okay so that's nine inches right there, that's the width of the top of the, tentacle, and of course you go all the way,to the end of the tentacle and you'll,see a little curve there,so it depends on you on how much curve, you want your tentacle to have but i,think this is good, now see that bottom tentacle there we,have about,15 to 16 inches wide of fabric, for you to be able to use up just as,little fabric as you can,you have to position your tentacles as,close to each other as possible, and remember tentacles will not have to,be uniform, you can have some of them can be really, curvy, some of them could be less curvy and, then, some are longer some are shorter but see,you want your tentacles to be really, long they should really be draping,so first i cut the purple tentacle and, then, once i was done i put it on top of the, black, fabric and then drew a pattern on the, black fabric, tracing the outline of the purple, tentacle, and then i cut the fabric the black, fabric so there you go,they're exactly the same and then we're,going to put them together, there you go,okay so now that i'm done cutting the, black fabric i'm gonna just drape, the purple tentacle on top of the black, fabric, the same pattern that's one tentacle, spin them nicely and you know, securely on the sides, now that you've seen the first tentacle,we're gonna make seven more,we need eight tentacles, okay so now we're ready to sew, then we lock it here, and then start at the other end, okay see look at this we're gonna now,sew it all the way to here, and then that way we're done, now we're going to reverse the fabric, grab it all the way to the end,and then pull it out,so we're done sewing the tentacle see,how it looks once you've reversed it,there you go all the way,to the end,now that we've sewn the tentacles i'm,gonna show you how, they are when they are stuffed but first,we'll start stuffing,so this is from the waist and then it,goes all the way, down to the floor, whoa look at that so i'm so excited, there are many ways by which you can, attach the tentacles to,something that will hold them together,it can be a waistband,i've seen people use a belt or it can be,an old skirt that you can just cut, short really short and in my case,i just looked for an old skirt now this,is a button skirt, and i cut it so it's,just like 10 inches from the waistline, down to the bottom hem that's all i need, now the next thing we need to do is,spread the skirt,so that you can see the entire width of,the skirt, let's say my waistline is 30,so that would be 30 inches across, okay i would leave, two inches on both sides, for the button allowance,so um i'm going to now get the center,of that entire width so that,at least i have a better reference, easier to measure, and then we divide four, panels per side or a total of eight, panels, because we have eight tentacles, now we are ready to attach the tentacles,to the waistband,as you will remember we divided the, entire, width of the waistband by eight sections, and each tentacle is attached to a,section, now what i did was i,folded the top of the tentacle into, three,so the sides overlapping each other, and then i turn the tentacle around,so that once i have put the,top over the waistband the black fabric,is actually, facing outside because the suction cups, should actually be inside, now do this for all eight tentacles, they should all be evenly distributed,so this one's i sewed by hand it'll be,hard to sew on a sewing machine,so do this for all tentacles and uh we,are ready to actually,um add the suction cups and whatever, embellishments,we have we're almost there,so now we're going to cut the little, suction cups,i uh bought this purple felt, material and so i cut little circles,um half of them were big,and the other half were smaller i,actually had,11 to 12 suction cups per tentacle,my husband had this great idea we used,um,pool noodles so i got two one was larger, and the other was smaller of course the, larger ones will go,to the higher part of the tentacles and,the smaller ones were for the, lower parts of the tentacles so now we,are slicing the pool noodles and i have,11 to 12 pool noodles of course to match, the, felt suction cups,we're going to attach them one by one 11,to 12,per tentacle position them alternately, and also i thought i should put a little, jaw a little bling, randomly to the little um suction cups,to give it that extra look, now after gluing them we are ready, okay so i think i need to erase this a,little bit,but otherwise this looks good already, okay,so maybe i have to put this up you know, that thing, there you go,well today is the big day i actually was,not able to sleep last night because i,was so excited, now i did not actually take a video of,my makeup because i was not very sure if,it was going to turn out well, but uh looks like it did so i'm just, going to share some, photos i'm not really a makeup guru so,there you go,um there will be other videos there who, will be able to show you,how to put makeup better so i put, foundation and eyeshadow base for the, eyeshadow,i used purple on my inner eye corners, and blue on the outer eye corners, and at the center you'll see some, glimmer of silver white, there now i just made sure that i,blended them all,so that they had some continuous effect,i also put purple eyeshadow underneath,my eyelids, just so um they made my eyes look bigger,i had to cover my brows with concealer, and then i,drew higher brows just to make them, more ursula looking and uh and i used, purple shadow as my blush, and uh and i made sure i drew that huge, mole on the face,i also did take a video of the wig but, otherwise it's pretty simple i just, bought this um hair spray and then i,test the wig and sprayed it all over,i also hang the wig upside down, overnight just to make sure that the, hair was really, standing the following day and it did so,there you go,and now we are ready i had some, photoshoot,on the day so take a look at the, tentacles and see how huge they, actually are but that was exactly how i,wanted my tentacles to,be and of course because i was going to,the office today we were celebrating, halloween,i had to make sure that my top was, appropriate,so nothing like the low-cut um strapless, top but yes i think it worked so again,it depends if you're going to a party, you can definitely use,the strapless tank top or something, but otherwise always appropriateness,is in order there you go i hope you, liked,my tutorial it was more a tutorial for,the tentacles, but you see i had to be there as ursula,so,i threw in some photos of the final look, and uh thanks for joining me good luck,if you want to be ursula, next halloween or um if you want to,attend, cosplay events i hope this tutorial, helped, and yeah if you like it please give my,video a like, and subscribe and comment as well, you can definitely find me on instagram, how to say it right,or on this youtube channel,so um i'll talk to you soon okay,so how did that go um i hope that you, learned from my tutorial,i thought this was a perfect time to do,a little tutorial and to share a little, bit of,me like uh i like to be creative once in,a while and i thought this was something, that was really challenging, and i hope it helped bye for now,you

BONJOUR, I made an OCTOPUS COSTUME !

BONJOUR, I made an OCTOPUS COSTUME !

so in my high school the last day before, summer holidays we all come costume lace, here with my best friend we decided we,would make octopus costumes we hesitated,a lot because at first we wanted to come,as Captain Hammer and dr. Horrible's,from dr. Horrible's sing-along blog also, maybe in cups, yeah with cups yeah what cups and we,make sense but we finally made actor, business so basically I just wanted to,make a kind of topped with some tackles, you know I'm kind enough in a rush and I,have precise things to say about how we,made a custom so I'm gonna take my,laptop do you mind, actually you can't man because I'm,filming this well you're not here so I,can take my laptop if I want and I'll,explain you why I'm in a rush at the end,of the video so let's show you how their, customs so first I chose a purple fabric,it was 2 bucks the metter in my country,a buck is 1 euro and it's a little more, than one u.s. dollar,so two bucks the matter about one yard, whew go away,I'm sorry for this interruption, hey we're somewhere else so no meadow is,about 1 yard so it's almost the same and,by the way that's the same price that I,paid for the red fabric for my prom, dress first and foremost we drew on the, shape of tabs we owned and that fits us,so we did our own newspaper then we cut,it and we we put it on the fabric and we,just, and with some soap because I don't have,a special pen or something to write in,fabric so I use soap then we cut the, fabric along the lines do we we drew and,we pinned some hands and so we pseudo, that but that's not really interesting, because what interests us in this video,is more about the tentacles don't you, think by the way the top was pretty, simple to do but still we didn't made a,really aesthetic thing so we're gonna, skip this part so let's now talk about, how we made it and tackle we fought the, fabric into and we drew the shape of,tentacles according to us tentacle would, look like this, and so we drew that we stove again and, then we cut along the lines we pinned, this so we had two layers of fabric, because we fall in it before so then I,sue them with the machine and then we,turned them in later that was a pretty, interesting pot and pretty difficult, well we didn't know how to make it at,first so we started turning it inside, out and we put a steam string in it and, some paper some all drafts we've been, using the whole high school well I kept, them I didn't know why I would keep them, but I kept all my drafts from first year,of high school entrance we have up three, years of high school so three years of,drafts of every test in exams that I had, kept all of these drafts and then we,just crushed them and we put them in,tentacle, and then we had to fix them as a belt so,I just another steamed string thing, that's a little complicated to explain,so I think you will understand better in,the clips but I'm gonna try to explain, anyway the extremity of the string that, was coming up from the tentacle we fall, into and so as to make it kind of curl a,curl and then I shut the tentacles with, some more fabric and while swimming here,I included a steamed string to make the, belt and so I did that with all the, tentacles with the same string for all,the tentacles and I studied at the, bottom then I just took another steam of,fabric to fix around the curls, the belt was composed of two strings, into attach of the belt we just had to,roll two extremities of the strings so,as to face we needed to twist the, tentacles to give them next shape, because with the string in it was, possible to twist them and so it was, funny we could move just change them our, octopus is had only 16 tackles I think, that normal octopuses have eight tackles, but if we consider that the belt is,around a waist in that our legs are, coming out from our waist do well we can,say that we have faith tentacles, considering the next but in the same, logic I had some some ponytails and that, was like tentacles to you and I had my,arms so I had 12 tentacles, okay never mind we were really nice, octopuses the belt was solid I thought,it would crumble down but it didn't and,I kept the costume for more than half of,a day and sometimes I even ran not to be,watered by friends and the tentacles, would just follow and stay in stick, around my waist though that was Prince,Ellen pretty impressive, also one of the advantages of the, stealing the tentacles in that we could, twist them any time like for example I,get a cut out seeing my boyfriend and I,could hold him with my two front, tentacles and that was pretty funny so,anyway here are pictures of me with the, costume that my friends stick,I'm sorry I don't have any video why I,was in a rush I don't need this anymore, this afternoon I have two friends coming, over to my house and to enjoy the, swimming pool and the thing is that I,own two bathing suits but they're old,and I'm tired of them so well I'm gonna, try to make a new one from just fabric,so yeah so I'm gonna do that this, morning and if I don't succeed I will, just use another one but anyway I'm,going to try so stay tuned fellas and, thank you guys for watching also it's so,freakin hot around here and so yeah, sorry the Sun yes I was in a rush but,I'm also so hot so I'm gonna go inside, right now because I can't I can't stand, this anymore
