NO SEW Queen of Hearts Tutorial DIY

hey guys I am so excited to share this,DIY with you guys this is a know so,Queen of Hearts dress that just takes a,ton of tulle and a couple other things, for all the detailed description of what, you need look at the links below and all, that because I totally forgot to put, everything you need so to start you're,going to need a mesh top which you can,buy at the store already made and a,bunch of tulle I actually made my top, because I couldn't find one in black, they were out in Hobby Lobby even though, they do have them and you can find them, online so I use red white and black, tulle so what you're going to do is,you're going to put the mesh top on,whoever is going to be wearing the, costume and you're going to measure from, the bottom all the way to the floor, that's if you want it to go to the floor, then I'm going to make a fun template, out of a box you can use I don't know, cardboard or whatever but it has to be,the length of the same length that the, person is the thing that you just, measure which conveniently she was the, size of this six point five gallon box,so this is the best way to measure tool, especially if you have to do a lot of it,and you basically just line it up and, wrap it around not too tightly just, loosely enough so that it measures your, tool for you believe me this is the, least crazy, that you can be driven nuts with tool by,doing it this way if you would have seen, how much white I had to cut this is a,lifesaver so just cut it at the end to,make it even and you want to start and,end at the same spot and then just clip,it so that they're all even on one end,and take it off and don't clip the other, side because you're going to do a double, layer by sliding it through one of the, holes and I just started in the front, you can start wherever you want but it,was easier for me to stick to my pattern,to do this so I just basically pull it,through, and you can have your kid or whoever's,wearing it if you have a smaller kid, wearing this I would recommend putting,it around something that can hold it or,having someone else wear it or something, like that to help you do this but my,daughter is eight so it wasn't that hard,so I'm going to cut a heart out of this, velvety fabric that I bought which I,wish I would have gotten a fabric that, was a little bit more sturdy but I put, some felts on it to make it more sturdy,at the end and then I'm just going to,cut the bottom off that way that will go,along the skirt part of the dress which,I will show you in a second so I'm going,to cut three more hearts and I want the, hearts to get smaller as they go because, they're gonna go down the front of the, skirt and I just make my hearts by,folding fabric in half and then cutting, the heart and I don't know if I'm just, really like normally good hearts and, come out with really I don't know they, always they look the same you can use a,template but I don't know I just I don't,I guess I'm just kind of okay at hearts, but I'm not that good see I've got to,fix this one right here so I'm gonna cut, these three hearts out but stagger from, large to small as' and then don't judge,me I am going to hot glue it on to my,child because she is wearing it this is,some time this is the time you can take, something round and put this on I'm,pretty good with a hot glue gun so I,figured I could do this just put a tiny, bit on and hold it on and then go back, and do more afterwards if that helps you, with the tool though just go at it,you're not going to hurt your child um,but honestly if you're if you're clumsy,or Hugh or just not coordinated and you, burn people easily or you just know that, you are known to do that just don't do,that just take it off and work on it so,yeah so anyways I'm going to cut two, strips that are the same length as the, tool and hot glue these on to the middle, parts so that they hang and then I'm,going to use the same ribbon for the, neck I'm just basically measure, ring like so and cutting so that they, can tuck in and I'm going to use velcro,to stick these together like I said I'm,going to keep this a no sew project and,the no sew ends with this strap so I'm,basically gonna hot glue this on and yes,I held it until it was completely dry,and I'm gonna put the other end on I,would suggest taking the softer side and, putting it on to the inside of the dress,so that way if she does want to wear it,without a strap or you do want to wear,it without the strap you can have the, softer part of the velcro touching your, skin so this has been super fast guys I,swear I did not burn my child with this,so now this is the only sewing part and,it's completely optional I am just, rolling up a piece of tulle and sewing,it onto the strap and I made I'm going,to pleat it and just make sure you end,it right before that velcro starts, because you don't want it to go under, the dress you want it to just end at the, dress line the neckline of the dress so,I'm just pinning this in pleats and then,I put it I'm going to sew along one edge,of the ribbon,so I put the ribbon off-center so that, you'll still be able to see it when I'm,done I hope this really makes sense but,so I'm just going to sew along that and, then I'm going to take my scissors and,cut off the ends of the tools so that,it's you know fluffy I guess that's but, yeah that's where I'm going with this,I'm trying to make it fluffy so I'm,going to separate it and I actually took,a little bit of hot glue and put it,between both layers and stuck them, together so that it's stuck up a little, bit more I'm sorry I didn't video tape, that part but basically let it stick up,and then stick it on your dress and then, you are complete with this no so super, fun super adorable,Queen of Hearts dress love you guys do,not forget to subscribe, watch my last tutorial click this Let's move on to the first section of diy queen of hearts costume

DIY Queen of Hearts Costume

DIY Queen of Hearts Costume

welcome and today we are going to do a,bright shadows DIY Halloween edition, this is my version of the Queen of,Hearts from Alice in Wonderland I did,buy some of the pieces full disclosure, but I did make the majority of it I'll,take you through how to make the color, the two to the crown a little bit the, pleated cuffs and the scepter so happy,Halloween everyone, remember to follow like subscribe I'd,love to hear from you and let's get to,the DIY so I am attempting to make my,Queen of Hearts color so I have a deck,of cards of glue gun and memory wire and,the memory wire is so that I had just, engaged the size of my neck,so now I'm just gluing playing cards in,the back to cover just the red because I,don't think we should have more than, cards form 15 and this will secure the, call at heart as it's a part of it,for the to to what you'll need is I use,two different colors of tools internal, cut run and narrow strips that you will, make twice as long as the length of the, skirt that you'd want and then you just, need elastic you need to sew it so it's,a little smaller than your waist, for the wedding pops what you need is,simple cotton weight fabric white lace, and white ribbon so to make them what, you do is you just keep on folding and, pleading the fabric with an iron until, you get your desired light so the length, around your breast then you take a,sewing machine and you sew the line just, just down it to secure it then you would, get the lace and the white ribbon and,you would sew that again and you just, tie it with a bow for the scepter what, you'll need is a wooden dowel which you, will then cover with black ribbon and, then I put a little bit over it again, then this is actually a Christmas, decoration which worked out perfect and,of course the playing cards to finish it,off, you

How to make a Queen of Hearts Costume Tutu

How to make a Queen of Hearts Costume Tutu

hi everyone welcome back to my channel, today I'm going to show you how to make,a Queen of Hearts tutu dress this, project a mannequin is helpful, you will need tool I'm using two on the, bolts but you can use it on the spool, and you will need belt and embellishment,so I'm going to start by rolling out my,tool I chose to use tulle on the bolt, this time I use 10 yards of black 6,yards of red and 3 yards of white after,I finish cutting the tulle I took it to,the sewing machine to sew a casing or,the elastic band to run through if you, don't have a sewing machine you can do,this by hand it's very easy once you've,done that you'll want to measure your, elastic band and make sure there's a,snug fit not too tight but not too loose, you don't want it to fall off I have an,elastic puller but if you don't you can,use a safety pin it works just as good, and sometimes the safety pin even works, better and I'm just going to pull the, elastic through that casing on the tool, once you've put the elastic all the way, through you just want it but it stays, the hot glue gun to hold the elastic, together so now it's time to move on to,the bodice this time I chose to make a,no sew top this one is very similar to,the Wonder Woman tutorial so if you, haven't seen that be sure to check out,the Wonder Woman tutorial so that you,can see kind of what I'm doing here the, only difference is that I made the, straps a little bit longer on the bodice, but it's the same technique you're going,to want to cut out two pieces for the, bodice one to decorate and one is going,to be on the back side so I'm taking, that top piece and this is how I'm,choosing the decorated you can decorate, this too to bodice any way you like, there are a million ways to decorate a,Queen of Hearts to two so this is just, the way that I chose to do it but be,creative use as many materials as you, like I like to work with felt it's just, easy for me but you can use ribbon and, beads and all kinds of stuff,I'm almost done decorating my bodice now,and I attached every single piece using, the glue gun but use whatever kind of,glue works for you now I have my crochet, top and just like in the Wonder Woman, tutorial I flipped it inside out I'm,going to cut off the seam and open it up,so now I'm just going to sandwich that, crochet top in between the two pieces of,the bodice so the plain white piece is,on the bottom and then I fold it over, and the decorated piece is going to lay,on top now I'm going to finish, decorating the bottom by adding the, checkerboard straps this is just felt, material that I cut in the strip's and, pours I have two blue hearts on the, start because it wouldn't be a clean, apart two two without lots of hearts,if you don't have a mannequin you can, place it on the child that you're making,it for or you can use something else, that is circular and firm that will hold, everything into place here I'm just, making a collar using felts all of these, pieces are felt and cut out kind of like,a car shape like used to draw an,elementary school and add checkerboard,to the other side and I added velcro, straps so that you could take this off, because otherwise it would be very, difficult to get this on over your, child's head here's the finished look I,hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and I,will talk to you in the next video bye

HOW to MAKE a QUEEN OF HEARTS Skirt- Using the KMKDesigns Sewing pattern

HOW to MAKE a QUEEN OF HEARTS Skirt- Using the KMKDesigns Sewing pattern

hi this is Katelyn mcclain with camka, designs this is our video today to show, you how to make our Queen of Hearts, skirt pattern now the pattern is,available in our shop kmk remnants and,we will link it below this is a pattern, that we recommend for probably high, beginners or intermediate sellers this, video is to help to be a companion there,is also notes on the pattern as well, all right to start out we're showing you,the very front of the pattern pieces, which are kind of the bumblebee parts if,you look at the Queen of Hearts skirt,it's black and yellow alternating here,we've laid the pieces of fabric on top,of each other now she is using washers,to hold down the fabric pieces you can, also use pins this is just a way that we,find that makes it easier to keep the, fabric down and using a cutter like a,Rolly color versus scissors but either, way is totally fine here we've laid the, pieces of fabric on top of each other, now you can either use Kona cotton which,is what we used or you can use a satin, just really anything that doesn't have a,stretch to it or if you really have to,use the fabric with a stretch really, interphase it well you can see here,Angeline is laying out the pieces as,economically and the fabric as possible,to use up as little as she can now you,do want to make sure that your grain, line that is on your pattern pieces is,following the grain line on your fabric, now your grain line is parallel to your,Salvage edge and these pieces since, they're diagonal it's very important to,make sure that the line that is marking, the grain line on the pattern is,parallel to your Salvage otherwise your, pieces when you sew them together are, gonna stretch weird fabric tends to,stretch when it's on something called, the bias which is the diagonal so it's,just very important as long as you just, follow the line and make sure you're,keeping it on the grain you'll be good,to go,here you can see she's cutting out, actually the same piece that's not, separated but it's the lining piece so,it's still that Center front piece, that's just gonna go underneath, basically there are some pieces that are, kind of like a pillow sandwiched, together so this is your lining piece, here at the sewing machine putting those, bumblebee pieces together so if you line, them up right and you got your seam, allowances correct they should all be,even at all the ends and form just a big, wide triangle when they're all put, together,we generally sew at a 1/2 inch seam, allowance everything will be marked on,the pattern which pieces go to what and,if any of the seam allowances are, different than 1/2 of an inch,we sped up part of the sewing tube just,so that it wasn't too much sewing all, together but I wanted to slow it down at,a few points to see how she's lining, them up so you can kind of get a feeling,of how it's supposed to start to look as,you're putting it together, you, you can see here she's holding up the, final finished piece as one side of the, triangle and then they get sewn down the, center front together now she's ironing, them all with the yellow going towards, the black you don't want to do the black, towards the yellow because the black, will actually show through the yellow,it's just colors and Cotton's tend to do,that so you always want to have your, darker colors if you can going in,towards themselves so they don't show up,in the seam here she's putting together, the center front seams making sure they, line up well, checking them before pinning them, together now you really do want to make, sure you pin this we've done them a,couple times so we tend not to pin them,as much but just if you're doing it the, first time or you don't have as much, experience sewing it's really important,to get those she's kind of showing here, how you line them up they kind of line,up a little off-center at the seam but, then when they actually make the seam it,all lines up perfectly, look like that, which is horrible so sometimes it may,not match quite perfectly when you line,it up and then you're left, slightly uneven fabric or something you,can either go back in tighten up this, you know pull this fabric in a little, bit or you can just stretch it a little, bit and force it to work and then by the, time he gets irony you can get it to lay, flat again if it's really off this isn't,gonna work and you're gonna have to fix, these seams it's only just a little bit,off because you can see how the black, just a little bit proofed up it's just, over it's not gonna be in the world it's,easy enough to fix with an iron, and here it is all together when it's,all completed that first center front, triangle now she's gonna take it over, and again iron the seams as best she can, what she's gonna do is she's actually, gonna clip them before they start at the, yellows so that she can still iron them,so that the seam allowance is always on,the black side and not the yellow side,so you can kind of see they sumup in the, picture here and show her doing that so,this just really makes sure you don't,have any weird lines down your center, front that you're gonna see,if you do just do it onto the yellow, like that one gonna get a little wine, then you can kind of see compared to,this which is going to be don't like you, know so once you back it in the black, fabric this will show up it's an,obnoxious line this will look nice and, clean so this is what it's not, this is piece number 11 which is,basically the lining piece that goes, underneath the black and yellow piece, this is the part I was talking about, earlier where you're actually going to,make a pillow so first you want to seam, the center front on this black piece so,you have that line up the front,we use the center front seam kind of as,an anchor point to guide to make sure, that you're really in the middle for, both pieces when you're pinning them, together, here she's showing you once you have it,sewn together that you're gonna iron, that seam flat open and then you're,going to put those two pieces together, right sides together and basically, pillowcase which just means you're going,to put right sides together pin it all, around the edges leaving just a small, like two to three inch gap at one seam, usually we keep that gap away from the, corners it really doesn't matter where,it is as long as it's not super near a,corner so you're gonna go all around the, edge with that half inch seam allowance, and sew it all together and then you're,gonna turn it inside out after that's,done it's basically gonna make like a,big pillowcase but it's going to encase, all those teams and make a really nice, finished edge,a few other notes about putting it,together is that if you did buy a fabric, that maybe is slightly different than, your yellow and black fabric like for a,lining fabric it may stretch a little, bit differently so you want to make sure, you use a lot of pins along the seam you,may need to do something called easing, which means if your whole and your whole, line if it's an eighth or a quarter inch, off or even a half inch off you just, need to spread out that difference among, the seam just using your pins to spread, out any and ease kind of that extra, fabric in now if you use the same kind,of fabrics that really shouldn't happen, too much and be too big of a deal, another thing when you're putting it too, after you put it all together you need,to make sure that you clip the corners,to make sure there isn't a lot of excess, fabric at your corners we kind of clip,it off to little triangles around the, edge of the corner just to make sure, when you're turning it inside out that, your corner gets nice and crisp, another note about those corners when, you are sewing them together you do want,to make sure that you're giving it a,little bit of a back stitch at your, corner so you can see here as she gets,to the corner she goes back and forth, just a little bit this kind of anchors, the point and make sure when you're,clipping it that you're not getting a,hole in that corner that's very sturdy, and it can put up with you turning it,inside out and making sure that it's,very crisp and clean,Oh,or,at this point she's showing you how to,kind of turn in the corner and showing, you how to get it really nice and crisp, now here it is all done laid out on the, table just showing you kind of how it is,supposed to look when it's all done it's,all enclosed except for just that top, little part it's all finished lined and, ready to go for the next steps here, she's showing you how the white overlay, works so on the pattern pieces its, marked where the white is going to,overlay and you're gonna go in with a,fabric marker a marker that is going to,disappear either with water ironing you,can also use fabric chalk that can work, well too or even pins if you don't have, anything on hand this one is roughly, just a half inch in on this which you, know you can see on the yellowest it's,horrible line right here so this will be,where your stitch in the ditch happens, that happens with the white panel it's,gonna be going all the way down so it,will reach to here it'll get stitched, out here so come here Angeline is,explaining how to cut out the red and, black fashion part so I'm actually gonna, let her go ahead and explain how to,remark and how those are all going, together in the cutting part and how, they are marked black and red that we're,cutting out we're gonna focus on the, black and then just use it as a pattern, piece with it red just because so we got, seven which has a great line of doing it,this way so all the green line,it's just another to look like, additional piece that's towards the, front it'll make sense once it's all, together we can see down here is that, there's different links that you're,going to see you're following the one, that says cut here black and red and it,points to this point what you're doing,is creating a seam allowance that will, the end equal out to this piece because, you're cutting a lining entirely out of,this piece and then they're going to,match up at the end for now, black and the red only goes down to this, large dotted line at the bottom so what,I did was just chalk it out you can also, just cut along the small dotted line and,add half inch this way ahead of habit, that way of depending on which piece are, cutting out there's that option too if,you don't want to keep doing this so,chalking your way across so just cut, this out,we've also marked pattern piece two, little lines right here which matches up,white which also has the two little, lines these pieces in the end,get put together which grates that white, stripe down the front of her dress which,is number six, yeah fast, and you can like just knock little, notches with two notches of that and the,one notch this does this one corresponds,to this notch, three pieces that you cut out with this, because this you can either do as like a,full circle depending on if your fabric, actually allows for that or since we're,working with smaller box fabric and, making it work we're gonna start we're,gonna piece them together like how this,is showing that just twist them make em,fit follow the grain line, markings,I can do words, but that deals with that these ones you,can when I'm starting with is number 10,and you can see the green line this is,the one that's basically making this is,where your zipper will be and over ten, straight line there's no full twisting,an attorney and they'll be weird stretch, areas this is a nice piece, once again you're stopping here you're,following the one that says up here,Brendon black there's more you just like, pin through and pull your pins as you,see her talking she's just going back, over to make sure that you're following, the lines on the pattern that say cut, here for red and black so you're cutting, basically for all those pieces aligning, pieces which are in the end cut longer, than your fashion pieces because the, fashion piece if you look at the Queen,of Hearts skirt has the red and black, and that it has that white band around,it and then it also has the triangle in,the middle so anywhere that it says cut, here for red and black you want to just, follow those lines got 60 inch wide, fabric certainly just stick it back, together cut on a giant circle short, five fabric it can work, once you're shorter this one's just a,little bit more so you want to,straighten up your fabric again I'm,there forever fabric doing is following, the next great new skins fit easily on,small you can get the full circle out of,them because they are only secured, they are pretty short it's not like, you're going all the way here it's,mostly just your own all the way here, for the white lining so you can just do,the full circle if you see mamas but I'm,just gonna do it like this because some,of you might have very small favor but, you're working with this is just show, you there's something crazy you also, don't want to use that thing we can just, usually is showing you a trick right, here is once you cut out one of your red,or black pieces that has that line, that's different than your big pattern, you can use that piece as your pattern, piece to cut out your other pieces it,will make it just cut a little time if,you don't feel comfortable using that, you don't have to either just a heads up,some of the fabric we using in this, video is a 54 wide or 60 wide fabric a,lot of Kona cotton comes in a 45 with, fabric so you may have to move your, circle a little bit and change and alter, your pattern a little bit to fit your, fabric we tried to make it as,comprehensible as possible to use on,different fabrics like this fabric here, you can see fits pretty fine but if,you're using a lining fabric and you, don't want it to be confusing just buy a,fabric that is 50,for 60 wide for your lining for the, outside fabrics of 45 wide fabrics, should be sufficient because the bottom,of the circle that you're making the, skirt out of is actually that white band,so your fabric doesn't have to be as,wide for your fashion pieces this is the, idea that if you have make it real it,fits so it's not quite a full half, circle because it's partially opened at,the front of the dress what so you can, turn it back into its basic format of,just combining these four pieces of that, together again to make a giant circle, you just have to stay consistent and do,this for everything because you lose the, seam allowance you have to take up the, seam allowance put it back together, again so that's a heaven seam allowance,on everything I'm just gonna keep, cutting them out in these chunks because, they were easier to print that way to,make more convenient this is how we're,gonna do it basically we got number 10,which expressed before is faulty eight, grade lines this is how they'll go back, together again so you've got the back, which is what the zipper is which is a,number ten you've got the side back, portlets inside back number nine just, nine screens now also this other great, lining is going on the Green Line is,going on that one that one which looks, weird when it's in this magical mystical, turning aster sees this little looks, like these two go together,so those are see there these two go,together, those theater so it all makes sense this, ten nine eight and then repeat it on red,you want to make sure you're alright why,is this important it's important because, fabric tends to stretch at what, different angle it is cut so if you cut,a fabric at a 45 degree angle it tends,to stretch a lot more than you're,cutting it parallel to your grand line I,know that can seem a little confusing, that's why she's drying it out here so,she's drying out kind of how the grain, line should line up on all these pieces,to make sure that you're not gonna get,any weird warping here Angeline is,cutting out the lining for the top, pieces so the red black and white,we chose white just because at the, bottom piece if you choose a darker, fabric for your lining it's going to,show up potentially depending how thick, your white fabric is at the bottom of,your skirt so even though you use a,black lining for that yellow and black, piece it may be a good idea to use white, lining for the rest of your skirt now, this isn't absolutely necessary it's,just something we've noticed after, making this skirt that just makes the, final result usually look a little bit, more refined, she's just showing you here some ways, you can lay out new pieces she also has, that front piece that's gonna go right, along your black and yellow piece also, don't mind me being awkward in the, background this piece and the number six, pieces you can see there it's the little, front piece that goes down her skirt so,I'm gonna make out in there you just, draw it out once again following the, grade line that the grade,I used,we're not there and then eventually, you'll just flip it get its friend, summarize the idea is this is the grade, the other side of skirt so again you'll,have a triangle open here here's a video,of her sewing all the lining pieces, together as well as that front white, piece with its lining and its final, fashion piece on the outside, you, after she's done putting the lining, together she sews up the center back to,a certain point she's gonna leave a,little bit of it open in the lining so,when the zipper undoes then you have a,space open she's just doing a hem right, here she's also saying that you can just, leave it up to Salvage if you like, turn that down and the cut zipper will,be here and then this will be on the, line, you, here she's sewing the sewing together of,the white front band so this is the band, that goes right next to the black and, yellow pieces it's going to go right, down the front, now part of these front pieces are, actually getting sewn together so it's,gonna create a finished edge so she's,going to sew together those pieces those, part of the pieces first so basically, you're gonna have two of each side, you're gonna sew them together and then, turn them around, she's now finished putting the lining, all together and she's making a note to,iron all your seams ironing throughout, your project is always super important,so make sure you don't forget to do that, right here she's showing you that the, pieces seven eight nine ten are the same, pieces for the run in the black and, that's why it's so important to mirror, them so they're technically the same, pieces just one sides cut of red one, sides cut a black,it's really good to write the numbers of,the pattern piece on it will make, following the video easier and just, making sure that you don't flip pieces,or put pieces in the wrong spot,so even though we had the black pre-made,before we started recording we're gonna, show you throughout piecing the red one,so you can kind of get a handle of all,the pieces as you can see she's written,up she's written front and side front, for the seams she's made sure that all,of the pieces are really easy to,understand which direction they're going, what pieces are going together all of,your pieces are gonna look very similar,so it can really help just to mark them, with chalk chalk or a marker that is,made for fabric that goes away with, water can be a really good tool for this, you,so she's just showing you here that to,press open the seams is really important,it's gonna make this circle on your, skirt look really smooth and even this, part shows how to cut the bottom of the, skirt that white band that goes all the,way around now you can't just cut a,white strip it wouldn't work correctly, you actually have to use the bottom of,the circle so we suggest just cutting, off that pattern piece along the bottom, and then lining it up on your pieces, you're still going to want to follow the, seams it's important to try to not cut,it all out in one piece, just like when cutting out the red and, black and the lining you want to make, sure you follow those grain lines if you, don't follow the grain lines the pieces, can kind of get warped and twisted and,you can get weird diagonal lines, sometimes or they can just sew together, incorrectly so just make sure you follow, the grain line on the pattern piece and, make sure it lines up correctly on your, fabric, this next part just shows sewing, together that big white band at the, bottom that we just cut out, again you want to make sure you mirror, the pieces otherwise you're going to,have to pieces the same way and your, skirt won't go together correctly, you, mystical magical 8-ball person's trying,to set will do buddy name is dressed, beautifully as I see it yes, fellas, you,so once you have your two white sides so,your big half circles and white but just, the band around the bottom you're going,to put your two ten pieces together so,you're going to close up your center, back seam basically, all right it's time now to put in your, invisible zipper in your Center vaccine, you don't know how to put in an,invisible zipper a normal zipper is fine, you at least want it at 10 inches long a,little longer might be better just to be,able to get it over your head, now because your skirt is one side red,one side black you're putting your, zipper into one side of it red and the, other side black, you, here she's closing up the scene below, this,or if you've never done this before, there's a bunch of tutorials I believe, probably on YouTube on how to finish up,a seam after you put it in a visible, zipper but basically you're just gonna, use like it's great to use like a,slipper foot or if you have a machine, whose needle can be moved over so you,can get right up next to your invisible, zipper and make a really nice clean seam, and then seam it all the way down,so now comes the part of putting the, white band on to the black and red now, she's kind of talking here how it really, should be pretty intuitive like seven, white goes to seven black eight red goes,to eight red so you if you have your, pieces marked or you least have your, pattern pieces around you should really,be able to line up those pieces, perfectly where they go your seams are, going to match up if they're not, matching up you don't have it in the, right place and you're just going to sew,it all the way around the bottom, you, you want to make sure that you iron the, seam allowance up because otherwise, you're gonna get a weird line again like,we are talking about when you're doing, the yellow and black just because the, fabrics tend to be more shear when, they're lighter colored you don't want, your seam allowance to show now it's,time to deal with that front white band,so you can see here she has it together,so it has that finished seam that's,going to be facing towards the outside, and then the two raw edges that are, going to be connected to the black and,the red parts,as you can see as Angelina spinning it,it's gonna go all the way down to your, white band so it's not only gonna go,right next to and seem to your black and, your red but it's also going to seem and, enclose that raw edge of your black and, white, you,so now both sides of the center front, will have a white line down the center, that meets up with the one on the bottom, next we're going to take the lining of,the skirt that you've already created, and you're going to attach it to the, black and red and white piece pinning, all of the right sides together around, the seams and matching the center's and, seams all the way around they can be,your guiding points as you stitch it all, together so after you stitch all the, lining in the fashion together you are, going to do something called under, stitching you can look it up a short, explanation is that you're actually, going to open up that seam you just, stitch to push all the seam allowance to,the lining side and stitch right next to,the edge on the lining side once you've,sewn it all together leaving the waist, open you can turn it inside out before, you do that though you want to make sure, you clip the seams because that will, help you get a nice refined edge then, after that you're going to iron all the,way around so you can get a nice clean, edge between the lining and the fashion, after that is the final step of sewing,in the Bumblebee black and yellow panel, stitching in the ditch in between light, and the red catch black of the yellow by,a half inch, there, pity brother,so just to recap what Angeline said in,there is that you're going to stitch in,the ditch between the white band and the,red and the black so you're going to pin, your black and yellow pieces a half inch, seam allowance from that line all the,way down and then you're going to stitch,in the ditch to connect them, now at the final bit you are making sure, that the white lines up the same on both, sides when you're pinning them up so,that you have the same distance of a,little bit of yellow and black at the,top and this may vary if you've altered, the size a little bit you just really, want to make sure that it is the same on,both sides, then once you have it all pinned you're,going to stitch in the ditch right where, she was pointing so you are going to,follow the line you want to make sure, nothing underneath is curling up or,anything the pinning will really help, with that you can see she's kind of,checking to make sure that it's all, lining up right before she put some, stitches into the Machine and then once, you have it all stitched down it will be,all connected and you'll have that, stitch line on the inside along that, black and yellow piece, now the final part is going to be the, waistband you want to line up all the, edges at the top these are the parts, that should have been left open when you, were sewing everything together so they, will be raw edges so you're going to pin, them all together to make sure that, everything lines up correctly, once you have them all pinned together,it's not a bad idea to do just a basting, stitch around the top to make sure, everything is secure so when you're,adding the waistband the layers don't,shift, okay just reinforcements,I decided to make it black and half red, because I can you can too, you, once you stitch it all the way around, you're going to take it out of the, machine and you're going to leave a,little excess on one of the sides about, three inches on the left-hand side then, cut off the extra and then on the other, side you're going to leave a half-inch,and cut off the extra to finish the, waistband you're going to take that, right side and you're going to fold that, excess back into the waistband so that, your even with the edge of your skirt, then you're going to take the top of the, waistband and fold it down just a little, bit it's about 3/8 or if you surged your, waistband it's going to be about it that,Serge line then folding in half then on,the other side you fold that three, inches in half so it becomes an inch and,a half and then you do the same thing at,the top we're going to fold it down a,little bit it's not 3/8 and then fold it,in half, you,it may not be a bad idea to also iron, this and do this all the way around the,top of the waistband this just makes it,a little bit easier you can also pin it,when you do this because you're going to,be just top stitching in the next step, and that makes it a little easier to,hold it in place so Angeline here just, pinned a few places in the skirt because, she does skirt waistbands all the time, then she's going to go and do that top, stitching to secure all the layers, together and basically is making a,channel for where the elastic is going,to go she's going to be top stitching at,a little bit in between a sixteenth and, fourth of an inch keeping pretty, consistent just right along that edge, making sure you catch all through the, layers alright we're almost there guys, now we're going to thread the elastic in,generally we suggest measuring elastic,to your waist and subtracting four, inches this can vary a little bit good, thing is just to put a piece of let, elastic around your waist to where it's,comfortable maybe a little tighter than, where it's comfortable because the, skirts gonna be pretty heavy it's a lot,of fabric and then cutting that you can, always take it in a little bit more it's,not that hard to adjust and then we take,a diaper pin it just it doesn't come, undone you can also use a regular safety, pin and kind of thread it through that, waistband channel that you just created, once you've done that pin the elastic on,either side and then you're going to,stitch through the elastic so that you, don't lose the elastic back into that, channel because it will want to it's,going to be smaller than your waistband,is going to create that kind of,gathering and shearing look and you want,to make sure that it's nice and sturdy, and won't won't come out now if,everything went to plan your edges of,the top of the skirt should line up,really well zip it up and then sew on a,hook and eye and you're done you can, wear this skirt with a hoop or a big, petticoat

DIY Crown | Queen of Hearts

DIY Crown | Queen of Hearts

to start off I use some craft foam a hot, glue gun with some extra glue sticks a,pair of scissors and a ruler I started, off by cutting various strips of craft, foam that we're all of equal width,I use two different colors of craft, phones to help with designing but we'll,be painting everything later so it,doesn't matter to create the base I,started by layering two strips together,to give it a bit more thickness and, strength from there you can just glue, the ends together and make sure the, circle is secured,to build the outer pieces of the crown I,started by attaching one strip of craft, foam to the interior of the circle and, then use the other strip to help, reinforce and strengthen that connection, the outer strip should line up to the,rim of the base ring so that you get a,seamless connection after that just hot, glue all the pieces together making sure, there are no air pockets I quickly cut,off the excess on the top of the strips, and then moved on to creating pieces, that you can use for detailing I attach, two thin strips to each thicker piece, and secured them all the way around the, crown, from here I attach each opposite strip,to each other by securing them with hot, glue, attention you scrap pieces of craft foam,to clean up any glue that might leak out,of the edges,by layering circle cutouts together I,started creating the base that will, support the heart on top of the crown a,way to help create the bevel in the,heart-shaped curve is to apply a bit of,glue to the circle on top and then press, the outer strips inwards to it and push,it down, this is essentially the difference it'll,make here I cut out some small hearts to,put around the base of the crown as well,as added some strips to the lower,ring-tailed create dimension,I layered more various circle sizes, together to create a tiered effect on,top of the crown and then made the, larger heart to sit on top you can, create a bit of a bevel to the larger, heart by sandwiching a smaller cutout, between the two pieces and then pressing, the edges together I cut off the bottom,of the heart to help attach it to the, circular pieces and then added a thin, strip of craft foam all the way around,to help secure it in place once you're,happy with your structure you can move,on to sealing I used modge podge to seal,my craft foam but wood glue or white, glue works just as well, you want to seal craft foam before, painting it because it's a porous, material and will absorb a lot of your, paint if you don't create a protective, barrier for it plus I find adding layers,of Mod Podge or glue help give the, material a little bit of extra strength, once I completed that I just spray, painted the whole thing black and now,you can move on to detailing you can, create this crown with or without a base, depending on what you're using it for,but for mine I just layered five circles,of craft foam together and then found, out where they fit best in the lower, ring and secured them with hot glue,I used a metallic silver acrylic to,start painting the thin strips on the, outer part of the crown I also applied, the silver on the hearts just so when, the red goes on over top it will be,brighter,I used a Windsor and Newton acrylic, paint in Alice Aryan Crimson but you can,use whatever red works for you, using a makeup sponge I created a bit of,a gradient along the hearts and on the, bottom with a black acrylic,I wanted to have a little gold on the, crown to reference the original Queen of,Hearts so I just painted the upper ring,on the top of the crown gold with some, craft jewels from the dollar store,I just hot glued various rhinestones, along the crown where I thought they, would work it helps when working with, smaller rhinestones to use a wet cotton, bud to help pick them up and apply them,to help finish it up I just Norbert a,crown with a crystal clear topcoat to,help give it a little bit of shine and, protection and that was basically my,finished piece for securing it on your, head you could either attach it to an,Alice band hair clips bobby pins or you,can even embed magnets into it to secure, underneath the wig,you

DIY Queen of hearts / Cards Halloween costumes

DIY Queen of hearts / Cards Halloween costumes

hello and welcome back to another DIY so,in this video we are gonna be making a,Queens Queens of hearts costume it is,inspired this look is inspired by,Addison in a wonderland and also this, picture which I'm going to show you guys, pretty soon that I saw on Google I was a,schoolgirl in some cool Halloween, costume that came across this I was like,oh they'll be cute to make since I,already had most of this stuff already, here so are you guys gonna need is a,cute little corset some cards some your, hot glue gonna your tulip skirt and what, else, some black leggings and that's basically,it so this is what I'm talking about, she's so adorable I was like this I have,to make it so that's what I did so this,is the skirt I'm talking about the tulip, skirt I've already made a video on how I,made this so I'm not gonna go into, detail in because I've already done two, videos on it already so I've already had, this one laying around so that might as,well use it the thing is I did not have, enough back tulips so I want to use the, ones that I had so that's why and, finished covering up the back so only, the front it's covered up so yeah so,just to get started are we gonna be,doing is going on the cards with a hot, glue gun just layering it on top of each, other just layering it later and they, are in it just straight across and on,top yeah I think that's it that's,because that's basically the whole video,so I was thinking that it would be a,good idea to do it on the mannequin but,the thing is the man can have a curve to,it so when you put on the corset on top,of the mannequin then it gives you that, curve right I decide that you guys just, saw so it wasn't working out because, the card wasn't bending I didn't want to,fold it up or anything like that so I,decided why not remove it from the, mannequin and just threw it on the floor,so that's what I did just laid flat and, then to screw it on so it would be way, better way better so yeah first when I,try it on they're not the cards broke up,or anything like that so everything was, perfectly even on see ya so it started, sticking on to the blanket but I just, pull it up straight up as soon as I,finished gluing it on to split up and, another thing with the car is you have,to add on pressure on so it's just to,make sure that it's sticking perfectly,so I'll suggest gluing it on then, turning it over and then press down on,it so you can stick properly say yeah, this is quick and easy so oh I almost, forget to say they're little hats and so,how was making it but all you're doing,is the same thing that I'm doing right, here just going to cars together and all,I did was just glue it into a cute, little circle for a little hat I was, going to make a little what do you call,it a train in the back because as you, guys can see in a very beginning of this, video when I was showing you guys its, tulip skirt a black tulip skirt there, isn't there's a lot of opening at it,back so what my plan was just glue on,just like who I'm gluing it on right, here on your corsets just learn it on,some of each other,my plan was to those glue glue, everything on so they elastic at the, back so you could have this cute little, train we should have been so cute but,the thing is my hot glue gun I don't,know what happened to it but in the, middle of trying to glue everything, together it stopped working and I was on,a reorder one but it was gonna take too, long to get here so I was like forget it,I'm just gonna do without it,but for the cute little train does layer,on,all right until it elastic or whatever, you wanna lay it onto and it would be so,cute like you have a little train dragon, with you then you have your little crown,on top oh do you know what be cute like,a little stick, what is it call you'll just stick that, all the Queen's have like all the even, ones they always have like a little, stick in their hand that would be cute, like a cute little cool one Oh or maybe,a black I love black so black comes with, everything yeah,so yeah as you guys can see it was, already sticking on suit makes you a,little blanket messing it up so yeah I,didn't glue where I had to clip on,everything so I just make sure that I,wasn't going on close enough so when it,was time for me to buckle everything up,then I would be good just glue it a,little bit further apart but close, enough that you can cover up as much of,the fabric as you possibly can plus, since the back is laced up all that it,was just loosen up the back so it could, fit perfectly and I didn't damage up the, cards so yeah and for the top I wanted,to make it a little bit more dramatic so,I started learning the top coming off of,the corset so all I wanted to do it I,couldn't bend it over it just make it,look like a neck yeah you know talking, about so yeah that was a whole plan oh,and one more thing with the hot glue gun,and the cards you can feel the high, glucan straight out through the card so,if you're gonna be making this this this,I can't talk just be very careful, because you'll be able to feel the heat, that's coming off of the card so yeah, right here I must cutting a piece of the, cards because there was a little bit of,space in between and I wanted to make, sure that I cover it as much as possible, yeah do so this is what I was talking, about layering on top so that it could,be coming off of the corset just learn,it up top up the edge of the course it,can look a little bit more dramatic just, like that, and it'll keep layering it up and even, the beauty
