DECORATING MY CLASSROOM FOR HALLOWEEN!

hey guys so long time no see,yeah I took September off pretty much,the first couple of weeks were just so,crazy starting school and then after,that just kind of needed that prank so,it is now entering into October so we've,been in school for about six weeks and,that's just nuts to me that we're that,far into the year but I want to kind of,pick back up and start like logging in,and showing stuff I feel like October is,a really good month and I have a lot of,fun ideas so it's gonna be a good month,but I just kind of want to reflect on,where things are and then I'm getting my,classroom ready for the month of October,um yeah so what this year has been crazy,and I don't know like really how to,explain it but like the first day of,school I filmed and reflected on all of,that and which is really kind of feeling,excited and I really wasn't too,overwhelmed at that point and then the,second day of school I got here and,thought I was gonna like start to cry,like I just was so overwhelmed and it I,think there's just so much to do and I,just thought like I was never gonna,catch up and I was just like drowning in,work and in just like figuring stuff out,and making relationships and it just,like was so much and it pretty much like,how I was feeling changed every hour,like I was feeling really happy and,excited and then the next hour was just,totally overwhelmed and anxious and just,all the things and it was that way,forever like the entire first two weeks,of school just totally crazy for,stressed out which is why I took some,time off of doing this because I just,needed to put my classroom first and,don't worry about a hobby but after,those first two weeks like we started,cutting at our feet underneath us and we,started getting in routines and actually,starting stuff out and yeah we're just,we've made it six weeks into the school,year I can't believe it's already,October we've already almost finished,the entire first reading unit it's a,lost week on it this week and like math,we're halfway down the first module like,we're just really making our way through,things and I'm learning a lot and yeah,but as far as my class goes I love my,kids and today was a hard time it like,they all forgot how to listen for the,weekend like it's a Monday today and,literally I think I had like four kids,who I did not have to get after today,for like not playing with these on their,desk or not just shutting out and not,like just basic listening skills they,just all forgot them all so it's kind of,rough date with listening but Mike Ross,is still really chatty they love to talk,and I have some friends who work on a,hard there's I have a lot of kids who,they all want to do the right thing but,they just let me see somebody not doing,the right thing or doing something,different than the way that they're,doing it they decide to like yelling you,get out of them and make it their job to,make sure the other kids are doing what,they should and I have a couple of kids,that way and so they just like butt,heads really fast and really easy and,but none of them are just like they're,gonna butt heads and I'd be like,passive-aggressive about it I mean it is,like full-on yelling screaming in my,classroom every day there's something so,they do have personal trackers and,things are getting a lot better but it's,something we're working on but I do love,teaching still so that's good but that's,just kind of a little update on things,but today I have a couple of fun things,I'm gonna do to you already for October,also today I got an apple so cute the,cutest little girl gave it to me,so that was killing game so I already,did this and changed my calendar to,October and that was just the first,thing that I needed to do and the next,thing I need to do is I mean real look,at a classroom you guys it was just a,rough date but I need to create a new,seating chart there's just there's not a,seating chart where my chaos is not,going to be chatty but hopefully I can,make something work then over here on my,door I'm gonna create like a fun,Halloween door so before I don't know if,I ever probably probably never to show,you but I had like a box of crayons down,here and it said mrs. boys colorful,bunch and then each kid had like a,crayon with their name on it and they,got to bring those crayons home today,some decorate that door and then I just,have some other things that just kind of,need to be done as part of getting ready,for the next day so yep I'm just kind of,put you down and just kind of do those,things and yeah just get to the hustle,the,okay so here is my door,it just says Trick or Treat smell our,feet and then it's just a ton of like,target dollar spot Halloween socks so,it's really cute I was gonna do like a,clothesline type theme but I don't want,to have clothes pins so we just taped,them on and we'll see if they are on in,the morning and hopefully it works I,think it well they're actually sticking,really well but it's just like a normal,tape under there so that's what I did,for my door and then you can maybe see,out there I don't know I just,all my lockers I put little pumpkins,with their number on them instead of,just like normal numbers that's all I,really did today for Halloween I do want,to like make bats or something to go on,these cabinets but I might have some of,my kids who are done with all of their,work help me with that just kind of like,a reward because there's a lot of really,artistic kids so I think they would like,to do that but yeah so that was,decorating for Halloween I know there's,not very much but I do a lot of like fun,Halloween prizes and things like that my,kids are gonna get and we're start,listening to Halloween music and I do a,video every morning as part of our,morning meeting and then start to be,Halloween themed it's just we're gonna,get excited and ready because there's an,entire like two weeks I have one week,it's party sure conferences coming up,next week and so we have three short,days in a row and then we go through,that a small break so we really only,have like two and I have four weeks of,like actual October school so I just,want to DIY HALLOWEEN DOOR DECORATIONS!🎃

so we just got some chipotle uh we just,smashed that real quick in the car,listen they got this new brisket,yeah he likes that,go check it out go simple i'm really a,fan of like,pork,so it's all right to me but he really,likes it so,it's the best thing they got there go,eat it asap man,yeah so anyways today we are going to go,shopping because,our apartment complex is doing a,halloween door decoration contest and we,want to win,right so,listen if you're looking for ideas on,how to decorate your door we're going to,give you guys a tutorial on how you can,do that yeah yeah because we're going to,record the whole thing so y'all can,watch this,decorate our door and we won't find out,if we won till like october 26th or,something like the end of the month but,whenever we record a video probably,around halloween we'll let you guys know,if we won or not but,you know we we trying to win so we're,gonna try to come up with something cool,we've already looked at a few ideas so,we're just going to go probably to,michael's you know the arts and crafts,store and,see what they got see what we can do,that's going to be cool but easy i think,we fill in because ain't nobody we,looked around ain't nobody doing this,yeah like on our floor alone like only,like one person decorated their door and,it's not even really a decoration they,just have like a halloween reef that,yeah and a rug,and michael so we're gonna go inside,uh the ideas that we were thinking of,was either like a big monster mouth like,eating a pumpkin which could probably be,hard or just a monster mouse yeah we'll,show you a picture we'll play yeah i'll,put a picture on here or the mummy like,type of thing,so we're just gonna go in here and see,what they have maybe they have other,stuff that'll inspire us to do something,else,but so far those are the two things,we're thinking of so we're just gonna go,in here and see what they have,all right you guys so we're in the store,art stuff,we might have to like make them or,something,we'll just make them,or could just have four eyeballs up,this door man you know what i'm saying,so we have some ideas,yeah we still don't know which one we're,gonna pick so,well let's start with the black paper,because we know for sure we're gonna,need a big piece of black tea all right,so let's do that first,so we was looking for black paper guys,and they told us all they have is,that,i mean we could get multiple but is it,going to look kind of stupid if we do,that and try to like tape them together,exactly that's the only,problem,yeah i have to see if this measures with,the door itself,if i walk into this,oh actually it doesn't matter if we do,the mummy thing because it's going to be,covered anyway,so we could make that work but is it,wide enough to go over the door right,because it's gonna with anything we'll,just turn it this way,you think it's still wide enough yeah i,measured it in my phone so we should be,fine or we could just go to another,store follow today,i don't even know another art store you,could go to uh that would probably have,that you could go to,i'm trying to think all the time that,does custom cut maybe like office,max or something like staples or,something like that yeah they might they,could probably cut it directly or how,you want i'm saying if you want to do,that,she's so cute,she's so hey,but anyway yeah we're gonna figure this,out and decide but so far we're leaning,towards the mummy man yeah i'm thinking,that's gonna be easier,i don't know so we could still get the,other stuff here like wasn't it the eyes,like yellow and black so you can still,get like yellow or black paper to cut,out for the eyes,okay so,first step is to get these big pieces of,paper we're gonna just get like five of,them right um,i don't know how long they are,but we could cut so what we're gonna do,is we're just gonna make it work we're,just gonna cut it if it doesn't fit,and just kind of go from there so now we,need to get something for the eyes and,for the mummies the mummy stuff the,mummy wrap yeah,so let's find i'm going to grab some,yellow paper,that's a whole pack though we could just,get one poster board so we're gonna get,some,poster for,some more poster board so maybe one,because it's only eyeballs just one oh,wait we need to get oh no we don't okay,yeah,i need a good one,what are you talking about whoopee,all right so we got that i need you to,show the picture so i can like figure,out because i don't want us to forget,everything,all right you guys so michael's didn't,have what we were looking for like the,party streamers and white for the mummy,stuff,so,we ended up going to party city that's,where we're at right now,i know a party store will have,the white streamers so it'll look all,mummy five-ish so,that's where we're at right now and then,we're gonna go home,start working on this door so,that would be exciting,so,this is what i'm looking for so this,this is going to be perfect because it's,like papery it's going to look like,mummy-ish,they're really cheap so let me just grab,a few of them because we might have to,overlap a little bit,so i think three will be good but,i think this is gonna look cool yeah,and then we also grab this too a happy,halloween,little lettering thing like at the top,of the door maybe hopefully it's not too,long though no we could bunch it,together we'll figure it out so look,what's your total so far so we spent,about 17 dollars,and some and some change at,michael's okay,that's an extra four dollars and that's,what that's like nine bucks so that's,nine plus four,fifteen,so that's 32,and did we buy anything else before this,for the door and the pumpkin,how much were the pumpkins we bought,little pumpkins to put on the sides of,the doors those were like eight dollars,a piece so 32 plus 16 is what,32 plus,48,it's about 50 so 50 bucks to go ahead,and decorate your door,and you probably could get it done,cheaper you know if you don't want the,letters or the pumpkins if we didn't buy,the pumpkins and the letters it would,have been cheaper but we're trying to,win a contest,okay cool so we have everything we need,once i'm we're,on this door hopefully omni doesn't run,down the hall the whole time,yeah screaming but yeah i say,we got everything so all right,cool cool cool,absolutely your background noises,because our daughter army is having a,blast,okay,oh,you want to put it over here,okay,here so,um,pretty much we're just,do,do,do,so,do,do,all right,all right,lemonade,so,this,is so we just took some yellow,uh cardboard paper i drew a circle and,played it out and said you could like to,do the eyeballs,so,yeah this took a while yeah just like,two hours yeah this was a minute tell me,how you did the strips you know what i'm,saying yeah just cut the strips,all right you guys,of our mummy door this is our first time,doing this we've never done this before,so,i think we did pretty good,99.9 percent of all comment Decorating for Halloween!!! | High School Classroom

hello everyone welcome to my channel my,name is rachel and i'm a high school,math teacher in georgia so today what,i'm going to do is take you through a,complete haul of my classroom and,turning it into a halloween theme it's,probably not as expensive as probably,what you see in elementary school but i,did want to show you how i still am able,to do the same thing with high school,and make the environment just a little,bit more fun and engaging for the kids,and just kind of decorate with the,season so today is a monday it's,actually a teacher work day and i worked,all through morning so it's been like a,professional development day so all of,that is out of the way so i'm going to,use the last hour and a half of work to,go through and just kind of set some,things up um and just so that way when,the kids come back tomorrow it's all,halloween themed kind of getting ready,for halloween in a two weeks so hope you,enjoy and can use some ideas in your,classroom okay so first thing i want to,take you through is one thing i do with,my kids the last quiz we had i went,through and cut out some,pumpkins and cauldrons from our uh,library these are like little die cuts,and had them just decorate using markers,and colored pencils so i've made that,into um decorations you guys can see i'm,gonna string these up around the room um,so i have four of them i have one more,two string so i'm probably just going to,hang them up kind of along the back i'm,not sure exactly how i'll get up there,i'm a little too short for the ceiling,so i may have to get a ladder and bring,that in so that's one thing that i,always start off with so the kids come,in and they can see just all their,little drawings hanging up so i actually,have this box of things that i've had,from that i use your year that are just,like different decorations and things to,put on the wall and just like little,like statues of little objects and some,like things i picked up at garage sale,so that's really mo where most of this,came from was garage sales um so i'll,pull that all out in a second but i,usually every year just go to the dollar,store or walmart and grab some big items,like the spider webs i put those,everywhere,just some caution i found this cute,little light up hanging,ghost that i'll put in the corner,probably above my desk just some spider,webs to put on my bulletin board and,then i saw this this year i don't want,to put it on the outside of my classroom,because i feel like that's just still a,little too kiddish just because you know,it is high school but i'm probably going,to put this on the inside of my door so,that way at least in the classroom it's,still like super halloween like okay so,this is everything that was in the bin,is kind of a mess but most of the stuff,i got from the dollar store so like all,these signs this the flowers,banners things back here all of that,came from the dollar store the only,things that didn't were some items like,this or these candles and jars i found,these at a garage sale and the person,just let me have them when i told them i,was a teacher same with these like,little knickknacks inside so what i'm,going to do is i think start with my,bulletin board i'm going to start,hanging like a lot of these type felt,stuff,around and put some cobwebs up so that's,what i'm going to start off doing,okay so this is it so far i think it's,pretty good this is really all i'll do,with this and that's just it i don't,really put too much into effort on these,um everything from here is from the,dollar store these are actually uh 3d,printed spiders my dad actually has a 3d,printer and so he made those for me um,but yeah that's pretty good i think i'll,probably just pull this up and pin it in,so it's a little bit less thin in those,areas but that's about all i'm gonna do,for now on my bulletin board,so i also had an idea with these since,this kind of looks like a greenery area,i only have two of these so i think i'm,gonna go buy some more but i'm not going,to hook them but just like use um some,tacky tape and i'm going to put them all,along between these so it looks like,tombstones are kind of sitting between,these so i need to buy more so i'm going,to do that i think before i show you,guys but that's my idea here because,it's going to definitely look like a,graveyard with that up front so i'm,excited about that,so i also want to cover this top part of,the influencer sim pull some spider webs,over there i'm not really sure how i'm,going to stick this to the wall,i got to think that kind of through i do,have some like sticky like tacky tape so,i may do that but i think it'd be cool,for like some spiders and some cobwebs,over there so i think i'm going to try,and fix that next,so i think this looks really good it's,all over i'm gonna get some more spiders,i'm gonna put some bigger ones in this,corner too and probably put some like,hanging up the wall this i just figured,the tape worked perfectly i literally,just taped it in at the bottom put some,sticky like glue at the top but it,didn't really work so tape literally,just held it in i'll see how this ends,up holding up and kind of add that in,later but i think that should be fine,for now and then i'm just going to get,some more spiders and put those up,tomorrow okay so now i'm going to take a,lot of these decorations and i'm going,to fill this up so a lot of these like,knickknacks will go up here and the,banner hanging so i'm going to do that,next,so,okay so i just put this guy together,it's super cute i'm pretty sure this was,just three dollars at walmart i actually,may go get some more so it's probably,hard to see but when you turn it on it's,kind of flashing lights inside and kind,of see a little better without the the,cover but yeah this was three bucks so,what i think i'm gonna do i'm going to,hang this over my desk on my,flag i don't really want to hang this,from the ceiling just because like if i,need to turn it off i can't really reach,it so i'm just going to hang this i,think from my,um flag so it's close to me and behind,my desk so nobody messes with it and,then i have,these pumpkin little baggies let me find,those that i'm going to fill so these,are like i think little trash bags that,you can like hang with stuff in it like,you have to stuff them first again this,is probably like two bucks from walmart,so what i'm gonna do i think is i'm just,gonna get some paper towels from the,bathroom and stuff these tie them up and,then probably try and make like a string,of them along the back of the room and,hang those from the ceiling so that's,what i'm gonna figure out next one,stringing this and then filling these up,i have over here my spider web and i put,up on my little wall trigger treats on,my feet again those are all from the,dollar store spider web and i'm gonna,put some more spiders on that and i used,to have these spiders that kind of,climbed up the wall like these big big,ones but i think that um they broke last,year so i'm gonna look for some more,again at the dollar store these hanging,guys i ended up not tying the bottom or,stuffing them because it became too,small so i'm just kind of letting them,hang so they kind of look like little,ghost guys around my room like ghost,pumpkins so it's kind of odd but i have,those just hanging from my lamps because,i can't reach anything else so i need to,put another one there okay so i am done,for today it is 4 30 so i'm gonna head,out and just finish this tomorrow but i,do want to show you guys everything that,i did so far and then i think tonight,what i'm going to do is just go into uh,the dollar store and just get a little,bit more stuff look for some more like,tombstones put around the room and then,i'll do like a final reveal after i've,done everything tomorrow hello okay so,today is day two of trying to transform,my classroom a little bit i went to the,store this morning actually before work,i completely forgot to yesterday and,there were no more halloween decorations,anywhere i went to walmart the one by my,house had so many that's where i went,the first time and then i went by the,walmart on my way to work,nothing they've completely transitioned,to thanksgiving already so i didn't get,much,but,i did get a couple things to like hang,on the wall there was no more like,spider webs there's no more like little,things like this black thing the sheet,right there so i just kind of had to,like make do with what i had but i think,it looks super nice the only thing that,i still can't figure out how to do,is string,my like garland that i made the kit or i,had the kids make like the little,pumpkins and cauldrons so i decided,what i'm gonna do instead because i,strung them but then whenever i try and,hang them they all like want to slide to,one side and i just don't feel like,tying a knot between every single one,because there's like three garlands,worth of them i'm gonna make a wall in,here of just all the pumpkin and,cauldron decorations i'm just gonna have,the kids pace them so i'm trying to,figure out where i want that to be,i think like in the back of my room by,the,um laptop cart just because like that,wall is like a little blank so i don't,know i'm going to go go ahead and show,you guys what i have so far and,everything that i put together and got,this morning and then i will probably,during my first period just have my,first period do because it's a small,class and we can like knock it out super,quickly without it getting crazy i'll,have them hang like the cauldrons and,the pumpkins that the kids made and then,i think that should be it looks pretty,nice i'm gonna go ahead and take you,guys through a walk-through of like,right when you enter and everything,that's in my room,okay so here we are everything is up,the whole room is decorated i just i,think i'm gonna put all of the kids like,little pumpkins along this wall kind of,filling around like the headphones,and then over here i have all like my,little knick-knacks,the,cabinet and then the front so i'll kind,of take you through each part so okay so,this is the front i just like to hang,these these are all from the dollar,store these were literally a dollar each,the,two right here were actually from,walmart i picked those up this morning,so i just kind of hung a bunch of them,there i have a couple things on the,front you can excuse those those are,kids things that left again all of this,is from the dollar store,and then stuff from the past years as,well so then over here same thing those,two signs are from the dollar store,i just have some spiders and some,uh,hanging little baggies i showed those,earlier and then here's the back wall,same thing as before,and then over here this is like one of,my favorite things ever this actually,came from a co-worker so my first year,teaching i did this i decorated my,classroom and so she had this in her,basement and she never used it and so,she brought it for me so it's my like,little,like halloween scary house so i'm gonna,put probably some flowers and things,around here i'll pick up for like,thanksgiving stuff so i'll just kind of,end up filling up this whole corner with,flowers and decorations and then just,some little knickknacks trick or treat,and then my little side and again like i,said i just have a bunch of little,knickknacks that i fill this with so it,just kind of adds some depth it's,nothing crazy but when you look at it,you see a bunch of little things and,then i have these little pumpkin candles,and then i just covered my closet with,get out or keep out tape and that's,about it and then on my desk i just have,a couple things,this again this was from a garage sale i,have no idea but i told the lady i was a,first year teacher and she had it was a,moving sale and so she told me when she,was going to close the sale and then she,said i could come back and take anything,i want so i got a lot of really cool,stuff from her for free,so always an option people are always,trying to get rid of decorations so,those are always good places to find,stuff for your classroom and then i've,had this sign for forever probably the,dollar store walmart and i picked these,up this year,i thought these were super cute so i,picked those up from walmart this,morning when i saw them and put them by,my laptop to kind of decorate so that is,it uh i'll show you guys the wall once i,have it all done back there with the,kids stuff but yeah nothing much it,probably took me an hour,hour and a half max to put it all up so,i just keep everything in a trunk or,like a little box and then every year i,just bring it up and i just buy some new,things like this to put on the wall and,it's really not a lot and it kind of,doesn't look like it but when you walk,in especially with like the lights that,i have i have these lights going on it,really does come across as a lot and,like overwhelming in the room so the,kids always get super excited so yeah,nothing much nothing too crazy but,something fun for a high school,classroom okay so when i was editing i,forgot to actually show you guys or i,forgot that i never actually filmed this,i tried hanging them from the ceiling,like on the string but they just kept,sliding and it didn't work and i ended,up just taping them to the wall i think,i mentioned that but um yeah i should,have done that from the beginning i,don't know why i made my life harder,trying to hang things around the room so,i just had kids put tape on the back of,it in my first period and we just stuck,them all to the wall and i think that,looks pretty nice and it kind of fills,it up with color and just,i think more effect than just hanging it,so made my life harder thinking about,stringing i even got string from our art,teacher and i never used it so but yeah,i think it turned out nice,so yeah like i said probably like an,hour's worth if that i probably took me,an hour and a half just because i needed,stuff again that i didn't get enough of,but,it really took me an hour and then i,finished up this morning just like,little things like probably took me 30,minutes and then that was with recording,some things in between so it should have,taken even less,so i just think it's fun in the,classroom especially in high school,because kids don't get to see stuff like,this that often and then what i usually,do is like the friday before,um,halloween we either if it's like kind of,like a free day like we test thursday,that friday we do like a coloring sheet,that still has math like a color by,number i have a couple of those my,teachers pay teachers so i can link,those below as well but we'll just do,something fun and i put on like hocus,pocus or like a halloween scooby-doo or,something like that in the background or,if it's like test today,in preparation for test day we'll play a,halloween game which i completely forgot,so let me grab this i saw this at,walmart there were a couple other things,too and they were like four dollars each,so i'm gonna actually use this for a,review game the week of halloween so,i'll show you that real quick,okay so this is like throw the spider it,has like a gooey kind of spider and,it'll stick this thing was,five dollars at the dollar store or at,walmart and they have these like little,spiders that come with it so i think,what i'm gonna do is i normally play,like a grudge ball or something like,that where like they play in groups and,if they get a question right as a group,they normally can go up and either like,shoot a basket depending on the game,we're playing but like it's in small,groups so what i think i'm gonna do is,the same thing that same concept of have,questions and a group and if they get it,right and said this time they can throw,the spider and like wherever it lands,that's the points they get to add to,their group so i thought that would be a,good idea so there was other ones like,cute little pumpkins and you threw like,a it was like a corn toss or something,like that where you toss like a ball,into the pumpkin's mouth so you could do,that where if they like get it they like,can get a point or it could be kind of,like grudge ball instead of like,shooting a hoop to get a point or take,away a point then they can like shoot,into the pumpkin's mouth and that was,like five bucks as well so,some fun games too i think i'm gonna do,that the week of halloween because we'll,probably test that week as well so yeah,that's it i hope you guys enjoyed and,we're able to take some ideas back to,your classroom i do this every year for,like halloween thanksgiving christmas,we'll do it for valentine's day as well,i usually make the kids make chains of,hearts and stuff like that for,valentine's day and we give out,valentines to our teachers it seems,super elementary but i think it also,sometimes like gives the kids like a,nice little break from like the,intensity of high school and just like,kind of like that kiddish fun because,they are still kids and i think we,should encourage that like you are still,young you are still kids like you should,indulge in these things DOLLAR TREE DIY HALLOWEEN DOOR DECORATION 2021 | Coraline Jonesx

hey guys welcome back to my channel it's,your girl coraline jones here and if,you're new to my channel go ahead and,hit that red subscribe button and if,you're a returning subscriber what's up,in today's video i decided to decorate,my door,um i found all of my items at the dollar,tree this is just to give you guys some,ideas and something to do if you have,kids like i do,and i know this should turn out fun so,i'm really excited about this project so,i'm gonna go ahead and include some,footage of me at the dollar tree picking,out some items and then we're gonna jump,to decorating the door,oh,so you guys as you can see i'm starting,on a fresh clean door,uh i did cover my door number,for privacy reasons of course and now,i'm starting with this yellow and black,cute caution tape that i found at the,dollar tree it says do not enter and i'm,just gonna play around with the,placement until i like it,and that's what i'm doing first and,excuse me y'all i did not even notice or,feel that,my jacket to my jump um,sweatsuit was up so excuse my little,biker shorts,or whatever but let's just not pay,attention to that,and here i'm still putting the um,caution tape on the door,um yeah so,that's what i'm doing here,so i finally figured out how i wanted to,place the caution tape now i'm going to,be using this fake,uh spiderweb stuff i found i'ma just put,a disclaimer out here now you guys this,stuff is very messy,um,it's just it gets stuck to you,and it's so much of it like it's so so,stretchy,but it's like also,just it's just confusing like,trying to figure this out you guys are,going to see,i struggle to try to get it to stick,and to try to come up with the cute,design it's just,we're gonna get there but um just sit,back and watch because you guys it's,gonna take me a little minute to try to,figure out but in the meantime i did,place,the little skeleton here that i found,there on the door it is like coco themed,because that's what my kids wanted,so um i did pick this coco,inspired skeleton up there as well,so you see me here standing i'm trying,to get these little fake glittery back,uh bats,off of this thing that it's attached to,but i found these and i thought they,were very cute and would go along with,the theme,so i'm just trying to struggle more it's,so sad how i struggled to get those off,but i'm just trying to place them around,and see how i like them,so,i know guys i know it looks janky just,hold on just hold on,this little welcome mat i did find that,at the dollar tree as well but i'm not,gonna end up using it you'll see later,on in the video,but here i found this cute little,skeleton bucket,and this little like um,i don't know like decorative like little,stuff i'm gonna stuff,inside of the um,bucket because i'm gonna put this sign,down inside,and i wanted it to be able to like,stand up and not like tip over anything,so,i stuffed that down in there to help,with that,and this is the sign that i found is,also coco inspired i thought it was,really cute,i ended up not liking how the purple was,showing so i am going to take some more,of this,spiderweb stuff and set it on top i'm,not really going to stretch it out,because again it's very messy and here,i'm just showing you guys what i came up,with,um i also got that little glittery,skeleton,there as well,and this is what i've came up with so,far,i know you guys are probably confused,like what happened to all the,decorations but i just did not like the,green,background on the door so i took,everything down and i am starting over,so that's what you're about to see me do,here,i decided to go with this um a bright,orange wrapping paper and i'm just gonna,wrap my door like i normally would,during christmas time but,of course this is for halloween say hey,to chloe,now this go around i'm going to start,with this pretty purple,tape i found it says beware,and i'm going to start off with using,this first and i'm going to mix it in,between with the yellow,do not entertain,and back and forth this is what i came,up with,i don't know if it's cute to you guys,but i thought it was cute for me,i let my kids see this and they said it,was cute they liked it so that's what we,went with and now i'm going to put a,little skeleton back just to see what,kind of vibes it's giving,and,now you guys,here comes the annoying part,trying to get this spiderweb stuff to,stick back on the door,and somewhat of a cute design,we are going to see how this turned out,and yeah continue to watch,and here you guys here's the ending,results i'm so in love with HALLOWEEN DOOR DECOR 2016 // Dorm Room

so today I am going to be sharing with,you my dorm room door decorations I know,it's kind of weird I have my little like,happy Halloween and my little pumpkins,over here and stuff but I so like we had,our door decorated a little bit before,we had some like pom-pom tassels like,around the side and then I went to get,like a keep sign with our names on it,and stuff and then now that it's the,holidays I was like oh my gosh we should,totally decorate our door for Halloween,and I like also kind of wanna like do,like door decoration like wars on our,floor and everything like that I think,that'll be super fun for like Halloween,or Christmas or something like that but,so I decided that we were just gonna no,matter what decorate our door and so I,went to Target and bought a bunch of,stuff from the dollar section at Target,that's where everything is from that's,where this is from and those two,pumpkins are from and so we got home to,stuff and it's actually so much fun to,do I know it's not like super relatable,to everybody but you can get inspiration,for decorating your room or I mean like,I honestly if you wanted to decorate,your door at your house you could,totally do that or if you're a teacher,or something,decorate your door is always fun I don't,know it literally like just like when I,walk down the hall and see my door it,like makes me really happy and it's just,like something cute and fun I don't know,I really like it and I thought I was,like me and my roommate Mary who helped,to meet Phil Mattson was the other one,in the video we were like doing it and,everything like that and I was like oh,my gosh we should film this and she's,like yeah and so she helped me out with,it which thank you Mary I know you're,gonna watch this a bunch of different,little crafts and stuff and then we also,have a bathroom that's like down the,hall a little bit and so we decorated,that a little bit,as the emcee at all so it was super fun,to make make sure to subscribe if you,guys want to see more Halloween related,videos like maybe we could do like DIY,costumes or something like that if you,guys wanted to see one of those or like,other decor videos or just like whatever,just let me know and I will try to get,on that so thank you guys so much for,watching,and let's get started okay so these are,all of the different decorations we got,so we got these like pumpkin garlic,pom-pom Garland's and these little,hanging downy spiders a little boo sign,some wall stickers that we used on our,bathroom we've got this chalkboard to,hang on our door but like it didn't work,so then what you're gonna want to do is,just take your tablecloth and hold it up,on your door and then trim it to size,so then you're gonna want to have a,friend help and Mark where the doorknob,is and then just cut out that little,rectangle and your door should be able,or like your doorknob itself if it's one,like ours should be able to just slip,around it when you do that then I am,hanging the tablecloth on and I'm just,using these command poster strips,making sure to leave the little hanging,out apart on that outside so I can still,pull it off,the next project we are doing is making,little ghosts and thus my roommate Mary,helping out she just did little tiny,ghosts on postcards or note cards you,could do them bigger on paper if you,wanted or whatever so she just got some,ideas off the internet and traced them,with pencil and then sharpie and then,she cut them out and she made all sorts,of different little faces which was,really cute so they definitely helped,decorate the door and here is what we,did for the bathroom door we used these,wall arts which are very easy to pull up,so if you live in a dorm like us or,anything like that it's not gonna peel,up your paint so we put all the stickers,on and made like a little do not enter,beware turn back now sign and then we,just added the other little decorations,which were some spider webs and crows,so here is the final bathroom door so,now getting started on the pom poms this,specific set of Garland comes with three,different sets so we just tied together,each of the ends of the white garland,with the pumpkin Garland and then the,black garland also with the pumpkin,Garland,then I just went ahead and started,spacing the little pom-pom pumpkins out,so that they were evenly spaced out on,the garland,so now we hung them up on the outside of,the door frame using command hooks we,put one on each side facing out so that,we could keep the strands and then I,actually bought two of these and we did,opposite sides of white and black and so,we just twisted those together and then,had the pumpkins kind of intertwined at,the top and then we had three command,hooks up at the top as well so then for,the actual drawer itself we used a,command hook and I was just trying to,trying to get the placement here and we,used to come and hook to hold this,little sign up originally we also wanted,to have the hot chalkboard up but it was,way too heavy and then this was also one,of the things that we got it was a,little bat Garland and I just cut it,apart so we could put the bats on the,door so here is the finished door we,have the spider hanging and all of the,little ghosts and everything if I may,put an IV on the Arnold Palmer so here,is the sign with all the little spiders,and then all the ghosts and I think it,turned out really really cute so I hope,you guys liked this,so I hope you guys liked this video like,I said before I know it's not gonna be,super relatable for like everybody Nightmare Before Christmas Door Decoration Tutorial

hey everybody this tutorial is going to,take you through the steps to make this,Nightmare Before Christmas door,decoration my apartment building has an,annual contest for Halloween and the,movie poster was my inspiration this,year I suggest watching the tutorial in,its entirety before starting for tips on,what I learned along the way I got as,many items as I could from the dollar,store and this turned out to be a very,affordable project that took roughly,eight hours over the course of a few,days to finish alright so let's get,started your first step is to wrap the,front door with black fabric I used,vinyl and would suggest using something,similar the type I found came attached,to a white interfacing which was perfect,so I could hot glue on it without,ruining our door on that note I highly,suggest you test a swatch of your fabric,beforehand to ensure that you can paint,and hot glue without it bleeding through,you essentially want to wrap the door,like a giant present so using duct tape,pulled the fabric as taut as possible to,get a smooth surface cutting away any,excess,for the lock handle and deadbolts I,started by cutting small holes around,the outlines slipping the handle through,then cutting away any excess fabric to,again make it as flat as possible,okay first problem our door has a pretty,thick seal so the added fabric stopped,the door from fully closing,to fix this I cut away the fabric from,the side securing it with thin strips of,duct tape our door frame gives me about,a half inch leeway for the tape to be,hidden when the door is closed,problem is solved and now we have our,blank canvas the hill is made from a,cardboard base which I made by,frankensteining some old Amazon boxes,together to create one large piece,when you're happy with the placement,secure them all together with duct tape,use a few pieces of duct tape to hold,the full piece of cardboard to the door,and repeat cutting small holes where the,door handle and lock go through using an,exacto knife,use a pencil to sketch the outline of,the hill and definitely keep a large,eraser nearby in case you need to redraw,the swirl a few times like I did I,wanted to give the hill some dimensions,so that it would stand out from the door,so to achieve this I pulled apart cotton,balls and glued them to the cardboard,now this step does take some time so put,on a binge worthy show create a cotton,ball Reserve and dive in,to give myself a paintable surface i,paper machine over the cotton with,tissue paper add a little water to some,Mod Podge or white glue to make paper,mache paste and be gentle to avoid,tearing the paper repeat this process on,all sections of the hill,you can see here that I left a space,around the door handle and the spaces,for the pumpkins much more thin not,videoed but to trace the moon I tied a,piece of thread to a pencil held the,thread to the center of the door to,measure the diameter then trace the,circle onto a few pieces of tissue paper,I covered my work surface in cling wrap,then painted all pieces with paper mache,paste now my original idea was to make,the moon slightly bowed so that I could,put string lights behind it and to,achieve that I used some t-shirts and,placemats to create a small mound,underneath I'll tell you right now that,did not work I would have needed many,more layers of tissue paper for the dome,to hold and by then I don't even think,string lights would have been bright,enough to show through all of the layers,so for anyone recreating this skip the,t-shirt Mountain and work on a flat,surface once the tissue paper has dried,use acrylic paint to paint a yellow to,white gradient moving inwards towards,the center,once the hill has dried and is ready to,paint start with a medium gray and paint,all of the areas of the hill that are,illuminated by moonlight then paint the,rest of the hill in a dark gray and,leave both pieces to dry overnight,moving on to the pumpkins I found these,styrofoam craft pumpkins at the Dollar,Tree following the seam line use an,exacto knife to cut the pumpkin in half,and the stem is apparently attached with,a toothpick now it's unexpected but it's,in the way so either pull it out,completely in hot glue the stem back on,or break the toothpick off at the base,draw a jack-o'-lantern face using a,pencil and cut out the pieces with the,exacto knife I didn't care for the,bright orange color so using some orange,yellow and brown acrylic paint I painted,a layer over the entire pumpkin,including any white styrofoam that was,showing through when the hill has dried,add high light and low light streaks to,achieve a similar texture effect as seen,in the poster,I used a mixture of black and blue for,the dark streaks and white for the light,no need to make these perfect just be,sure that the streaks are going in the,direction that the hill curves,that should dry pretty quickly but with,the time to wait I moved back to the,pumpkins to add battery tea lights to,the inside trace the outline of the tea,light on the bottom of the pumpkin and,cut it out slightly within the outline,so that the tea light fits nice and snug,it's time to free the hill from the,excess cardboard so using strong,scissors and an exacto knife cut away,all of the excess,be very careful with the exacto knife,here and maybe give a small chair once,you're finally done with the swirl,section and cut away all the excess,tissue paper from the moon secure the,moon to the door with hot glue and I,suggest being a bit more liberal with,the glue here than I am to make sure it,doesn't fall for the hill I started with,many of many loops of duct tape to,support the majority of the weight then,use hot glue to secure the edges to make,it as flush as possible the edges did,end up popping away from the vinyl so I,would suggest adding more duct tape,closer to the edges or use black,electrical tape to tape the perimeter to,the vinyl secure the pumpkins with hot,glue and it's fine to take a moment to,show off your progress so far to your,roommate,now for the Jack and Sally silhouette I,find that a grid helps me sketch so,using my iPad I saved this picture to my,photos edited it and then with one,finger still on the screen for the,cropping tool I took another screenshot,so that my reference photo would have,the grid,draw a grid onto a piece of black,cardstock mine measured out to be six by,14 inches and then copy the silhouette,onto the cardstock,using an exacto knife and ensuring that,your workspace is protected I used an,old shopping bag cut out the silhouette,I held the silhouette up to the door and,found that Sally's back leg wasn't quite,long enough to reach the hill so I added,a small extension and then using wooden,skewers with the pokey side down hot,glue it to the back of the silhouette,when you're happy with the placement,poke the skewers into the tissue paper,at the top of the hill and make any,adjustments as needed,I created the stone fences out of craft,styrofoam blocks start by cutting the,blocks in half lengthwise and be,prepared for styrofoam fuzz to be,everywhere then use a pencil to mark the,outlines of the stones and then use the,edges of the exacto knife to give the,stones shape and texture,once you're happy with the stone shape,paint the whole thing in a medium gray,and then use a skinny brush to add black,in between the stones using a sponge,brush sponge on some light blue and,white paint to give the stone some more,added texture I held these pieces up to,the door and saw that they were sticking,out far too much so I cut away some more,foam from the back,I also found these tiny craft pumpkins,at the Dollar Tree which after cutting,in half and painting on some,jack-o'-lantern faces were the perfect,size for the fence posts I used 20 gauge,wire for the posts and if you don't have,wire cutters like me this wire is,pliable enough to break after bending it,back and forth a few times I made the,post roughly three to four inches long,but note that however long you want them,you need at least half an inch to punch,into the foam I then used 22 gauge wire,which is also breakable after some,bending and wound those pieces,lengthwise across the posts since the,wire I already had was silver i roughly,painted over them in gray to make them a,little less shiny to poke the pumpkins,onto the fence I cut a few slits in the,bottom with an exacto knife and held the,wire steady with some needle nose pliers,use generous amounts of hot glue to glue,the fences to the hill and then add some,extra mini pumpkins to the rest of the,hill slope,I decided that the fences blended in far,too much with the hills so I added some,more white paint onto the front and the,top to give it some more dimension a few,other paint touch-ups later and there,you have it a Nightmare Before Christmas,door perfect for the Halloween season,hope you enjoyed,you
