Shading A Fall Pumpkin

okay a fall pumpkin here we go,i'm gonna sketch on um just a couple, ovals to begin with just, and i use it with, the tip of my brush here, boom okay,i'm going to add a whole bunch of orange,to my brush, and i'm going to put one corner of the, brush, into the red and maybe a little bit of,brown see this is a real real exact, science here this is going to be the, shading, and so i'm going along,on the inside edges,of the pumpkin there, and i do this pretty quick because this,is kind of a wet on wet technique and, that way i can blend the colors, and it comes out with a nice smooth, finish, okay now i'm going to start adding the, orange, just blend it in there, okay now i'm going to pick up the yellow, and a little bit of white to give the, highlights over on the edges,i'm trying to do this really fast so it,all fits within the video so,you can slow down a little bit,so there you have your basic shape of a,pumpkin and i might add some white, along to the tops just to give it some, highlight, doesn't have to be real perfect and, exact,it's fun, there

Easy Halloween Graveyard Acrylic Painting

Easy Halloween Graveyard Acrylic Painting

hey guys mix media girl here I'm gonna, show you guys a pretty quick and fun,Halloween painting all right and we're,gonna be just using white green yellow, and black I'm kind of a down to my last, bits of certain colors so I'm gonna just, make do I'm gonna be using a foam brush, here for the background and let's see, this is simply acrylic got from Walmart,so I'm going to start with some of that,in the middle as well as a little bit of,yellow the key here is a circular motion,so I'm going to start in the middle and,go out okay I'm gonna get a little bit, darker yellow and then I'm also gonna, get in there with some green this is a,lighter green this is definitely not the, usual way I do this but I think this, should work and then we're gonna go with,a darker green okay so once again, keeping in our circle here we're going,to add in the green and the darker green, okay now you want to fill in any spots, that have white add more pink as needed,I'm gonna go in here with some more of,the darker green okay,I've now gotten the entire background, covered I'm gonna go in the middle here, with a little bit more white and I'm,flipping over to the clean side of my,brush you can also just use a clean, brush and I'm going to just go all the,way out now and blend this all together, look at that magic okay so we now have a,killer background with a moon per se all, right we're gonna now go ahead and add,in a graveyard so we basically just need, well yep we just need a bunch of black, down here and you can wait till the, background dries if you want or you just, keep going I'm gonna just keep going cuz,I don't want this to be the world's,longest video and you can use either, your foam brush to do this because it's,it's black it should be fine or you can,use a different brush if you want so,right now we're creating a ground here, okay and you can totally do the edges as,you go along if you'd like now I do have, extra black paint here so I'm gonna now, take just like a medium flat brush and, what I'm gonna do is just add in some, gravestones as many as you want I,usually like to do maybe three alright, one more over here for now,and you can make them a little more, exciting like if you want to add in a,part here give me a cross you can write, rest in peace whatever you want on there, okay alright and then we got just a,couple more steps here, you can of course stop at any point that, you're happy but we're gonna go ahead, and add in a tree because I love trees, and I feel like they just add some, dimension you know they really bring the, piece together alright so we start out, with our main branches now this is in an,graveyard so this is not gonna have a,ton of branches and it's gonna be kind,of a scraggly little tree the key part, with branches is make them a bit thicker, towards the tree trunk most trees have, branches like that and then go thinner,as they go out and then the easiest way,I've found to end off trees or branches,is in a V so see how this ends in a V,here we're just gonna leave that like, that, and a few more under this one move out,you can definitely definitely overdo it,on branches so I'm going to try to keep, this one real simple kind of making the, bottom here blend in with the ground, and there you have your tree okay so,let's add a little more interest to,these gravestones, all right I think that's good you can of,course keep going and in anything else, you want you could add in another tree, more definitely more gravestones you, could add in some stars very easily you, know whatever you want, have fun create with it but I just think, this is kind of a cute simple little,Halloween painting great to do with kids, with friends etc or just you know by,yourself if you're having fun alright, guys I hope you guys enjoyed this please,do not forget to subscribe and we'll see,you next time

How to Make a Monster Silhouette Easy Halloween Window Decoration DIY

How to Make a Monster Silhouette Easy Halloween Window Decoration DIY

welcome to the shop steve here at sks props and in  today's video we're going to be putting together  ,some monster silhouettes for the window as a  super easy halloween decoration i figured i'd  ,go ahead and jump into some of the halloween  stuff because the retail stores already have  ,so with this guy he was all freehand drawn onto  some bristol board and then that was transferred  ,onto some of my 10 millimeter hd foam now you  guys of course could use cardboard or wood or  ,anything else you would have laying around it just  so happens i have a bunch of foam laying around  ,i also made this cute little bat and both of these  are going to be downloadable pdfs in case you want  ,to build either one of them i want to show you  guys what it takes to put these together so let's  ,go ahead and get started the first thing to do  was get out some bristol board and measure out  ,how big the monster needed to be for the window  i then started sketching out a simple monster i  ,didn't really have a plan going into this step so  i just selected elements that i thought would be  ,cool as a silhouette you know fur horns teeth  switching over to a sharpie i finalized the  ,outline of the design and then cut that out using  a utility knife now it is a simple design but i  ,did take into consideration the fact that i have  to cut out all these shapes in 10 millimeter foam,i transferred my monster design onto  my 10 millimeter hd foam using a pencil  ,and then sharpened my utility knife  before i got to work cutting it out,all the shapes were cut out by hand except  the pupil of the eye where i used a drill  ,now some of my cuts were a little  rough so i took a smooth sanding  ,drum on my dremel and cleaned everything  up and once i determined the size of the  ,monster was all good i used a utility  knife to cut out the rest of his fur  ,the creation of the bat silhouette was pretty much  the same but i had some design changes in the end,i took my basic template and transferred that onto  some 10 millimeter hd foam and also cut it out,i switched over to a scalpel blade because the  eyes and teeth details were so small but ended up  ,not liking the teeth in the end so i covered them  up both pieces were spray painted and left to dry,i added some additional fur to the body of the  bat it doesn't matter that it's a separate piece  ,because it's just a silhouette so realize you  can easily change your designs if necessary  ,i think both these creations turned  out pretty cool but what really sets  ,them off is the backdrops and the  lighting this is achieved by using  ,a crumpled up bed sheet for texture  and some outdoor halloween lighting,so you can see we're making a monster  silhouette is a very easy process but  ,it's a really creative way for you to add  custom decorations to your house for halloween  ,now if you guys are enjoying these videos be sure  to give them a thumbs up share them with your  ,friends and family and if you are building any  of these builds be sure to tag me at sksprops on  ,twitter and instagram because i want to see your  creation until next time thanks for stopping by

Storefront Window Painting HOW TO with Artist Josh Schultz

Storefront Window Painting HOW TO with Artist Josh Schultz

good morning aurora,my name is josh,i'm here with john from visual arts and,we're doing a little project for aurora, downtown what we're going to do today is,run through,uh a,a window painting process well the first, thing that anyone wants to do if you, want to do this is figure out, what window you're going to paint, and then the next thing that you're,going to want to do is probably, something like this i made you a nice, one sheet list,we can we can,put that on the internet or whatever, works for you but this is a supplies, list and it's pretty basic, pretty simple,so,generally i measure out the window,i've kind of already done this so i,don't really need to look too closely at,it,it looks good it's roughly four feet,by four feet, and, one of the most critical things for this,to work out well is to clean your window, off so we're gonna i'm gonna remove this,i'm gonna clean the sill because, like the old boy scout model leave leave,it better than when you showed up also,i'm going to put the drop cloth down, right now because if anything, happens to fall on the ground,my trusty drop cloth will be there to,catch it and i will just, fold it up and take it with me,so that there's no mess, for anyone else, especially if i made it,so let's just, squirt some, cleaner on here, hit the window real good i'm gonna need,to take this off,so generally i'll use a,rag and wipe it down,to clean off the big stuff, and then i'll use some paper towels to,make it look nice and pretty, this is the original design it looks, like it's actually sort of a paper, collage um,but it's the colors are really fun and, really interesting, and, then i'll show you i'll flip to the uh,the modified design, there's there's the the final result is,going to look like so this, this drawing is an embellishment of the, original and that's on my paper pattern,up there, and now, this is really just one, process it doesn't have to be your, process this is sort of a more, traditional signwriters process,i basically blew up the design, put it on paper and then i used this, fancy tool not very fancy but kind of,it's got these little spikes on it it's,called a pounce pattern tool, and i basically trace all the lines, and it what it does is it perforates the, paper and makes little holes in the, paper so then,i will take, the next tool in the series here uh,which is a really fun little thing this,is the pounce, pad, which is filled with chalk, and what i'll do is just, pounce over top of the design, and that, what that does is pushes chalk through, the perforations the tiny holes in the, paper, onto the glass and that's gonna just, give me a nice, basic, layout of where i need to put the primer,in the next, step in the process,so it's a kind of fun way to transfer an,image, there's plenty of other ways to transfer, but this is um this is a pretty, traditional, signwriter's,method we're gonna pull the pattern the, pounce pattern down the pattern will be,on the window and then we're gonna take, this duration interior paint it's a,matte finish it's not a primer but we're,using it as if it were a primer because, primers generally stick,a bit too much this will stick just, enough and give a good solid base coat, but then when it comes time to,remove it it won't be such a bear to get,off the window so we'll peel this back, off here, and again this is just a process there, are, many other processes that work, there's a lot of guys that can just come,in and just freehand it cut my teeth,i can take what i need to get by,it doesn't make it easy, the other piece of my heart moves slow, somewhere in the great unknown, when, okay so we're back,to,i believe we're on step three roughly, that seems right,uh,downtown beautiful aurora it's uh it's a,busy morning um,so there might be some noises of cars, that's that's gonna happen,we're on to the base coat,it's basically a primer but it's not, primer paint it is an interior paint, and i'm going to start with a little, brush but i'm going to fill in with a,bigger brush and basically we're,blocking out, this,mr potato head avocados style looking, ala hebraic character and uh yeah so see,we're just gonna,we're just gonna brush in and actually,i'm gonna go,fatter i'm gonna go fatter than the line, here because i actually like to have a,bit of the white, showing, around the design and so the next thing, after this after i get this blocked in,i'm gonna overlay the design again, and, use the pounce pattern again painters, that have never painted on glass would, thoroughly enjoy it appreciate it and, anyone else, that just likes to pick up a paintbrush, would uh,would really get something out of,painting on glass it's a lot of fun,it's much different, than painting on,canvas for sure,it might be somewhat similar to painting,on a panel, but,um it's its own thing,it really is,so i'll uh,i'll block in this whole thing,i long for you so much i can find my way,all right kiddos and, everyone at home watching on your couch, hopefully,uh where we left off last time we're on,we're on round two,uh we left off last time,i pounced the pattern onto, the primed, design, basically the background, and, today,we're going to show you,the finished, window painting it's all done by hand, again this is only a,method of doing, window art,uh i think i mentioned jose in the last, one, jose art he's also a local artist,he's he's a a hand, painter also but mostly he's an airbrush, guy and he's phenomenal,uh and you should definitely come, downtown and look at all the windows, that jose has done for sugar skull city, because they're,awesome and they're everywhere but so,we're gonna we're gonna take this pounce, pattern off,and then we're gonna hand paint,uh base off of the pattern onto the, window this is just acrylic paint, this is actually called nova color it's,a really nice,uh mural paint so now we're just gonna, just gonna lay some of this on here, already got a nice, base coat but it's always fun to give it,a little more, paint, solidify it a bit, and, some of this paint's been around for a,little while in my can so you see these, little chunkies,it's not really a big deal because, this is meant to be admired from the, street, okay so we're here with the finished, painting,uh,there's lots of trucks around uh,i often like to do if there's not enough,of the white base,i try to do a bit extra but, sometimes there's not enough and i'll,i'll do an extra white outline around it,it just helps pop things off the window, and again everything's nice and clean,i'll clean up the drop cloth, and uh if there's any paint left over,i'll clean that up but, always a good idea to sign, your window piece too it's kind of hard,to see it but it my signature's there,it's in a little gold uh,marker i might, paint that in white uh but that's pretty, much uh the gist of it,and if you have any questions,i'm sure you can get a hold of me and,i'd be glad to answer anything that you, might want to know, have a good day
