8 Halloween DIY's with Cricut / Easy Halloween Crafts

hey guys and welcome back again to my,channel the appalachian home,so today i wanted to jump back into my,videos with some fun halloween diys and, these are all projects you can make with, cricut, you can also make these without a cricut, with just some scissors and some cutting, tools, but i used my cricut for all these, projects so i hope you enjoy, all of these ideas that you can do with, your cricket machine i'm also going to,leave you guys some links to some, free files and pngs that you can use to,do some of these projects, yourself so i hope you guys really, enjoyed this video and doing these, projects for halloween,so our first project is flying paper, bats and i love these i see these, everywhere, and they are so easy to make i'm just, using a 12 by 12 inch, sheet of black cardstock and you can, also use eight and a half by 11 sheet, but i'm just putting this into my cricut, machine and in design space i just found, these images of bats i think online, design space also has some images of,bats you can,use and i'm just making these to fit in,a 12 by 12 square and i also made them, different sizes,to add some variety,i'm drawing a box around all the bats, and i'm attaching them to the mat that, way they will all cut out at one time, and i'm also going to change my material, settings to medium card stock,i just cut some pieces of double sided, tape and stuck those to the back of the, bats and then i can just stick those, onto the wall very easily,i'm also bending up the wings just a bit,to give it a 3d effect, for our next project i'm also going to,be using that same card stock material,in the cricut machine i created these, little houses in inkscape they're 10 and,a half inches wide, and each fold is going to be two and a,half inches i've also left this little, half inch tab at the end to connect them, and they are five inches high if you'll,check the description box i've left a,free png of these,so you can go ahead and just upload, those directly into qriket design space,or just print them out and use the, template to fold along, once you have those uploaded to cricut, you want to resize the width to,10 and a half inches to create the fold, lines i'm using, the score line and i'm just drawing a,line and i'm placing it,directly over the areas that the color, changes, and once i get all of those placed i'm,going to select the whole image, including the score lines and attach, that to the map and that lets cricut, know, that it needs to score along those, dotted lines, and we're also going to be using our, scoring tool i'm going to show you in a,little bit how to use the scoring tool, but it's a really neat tool that creates, fold lines,on any project, for project number three i loved these, spooky stacked wooden books i just used, some leftover two by eights that were, seven and a half, inches wide nine inches long and one and,a half inches deep, and i'm just using some black spray, paint and covering two,of those and i'm also going to be,covering one with some white spray paint,i'm also using some different kinds of,vinyl to create some little cute, sayings i'm using some permanent orange, black and, shimmer purple vinyl,i made a square the size of the side of,the book,so that i would know what size of text,to cut out,i'm using a font called monsters to,create this text, and i just resized it to fit on the side,of the book and cut those out, project number four is these vintage, halloween party fans and i was so,surprised how these turned out they, turned out so great, but i just found this decorative paper,at hobby lobby,in the halloween colors and i got four, different kinds, and i got four sheets for a dollar so,this was a really good deal and i only, ended up using three sheets, for one fan but i just put each sheet on,my mat and i'm also going to be using, the cricut scoring tool i told you about, earlier,it's just a tool that goes in your pen, slot and it can be used,to create fold lines and projects i went, into design space and actually found,a project that was party paper fans, and all you have to do is is upload that, into your canvas, and it's automatically ready to cut out,you do have to,change your material settings and i used, the deluxe paper setting, and i also edited my tools it's it's set,on your scoring wheel but since i had,the scoring tool,i just changed that to the scoring tool, and then you just hit go,and it automatically scores all of those, lines and then it cuts out your, project, now i'm just creating my fold marks and,i'm starting with the first, side down and folding from there and, then you can see it just makes this, really pretty, paper fan i'm also using that same,double-sided tape,on the ends to attach all these pieces, together there are five, pieces in total and once they spread out, they'll make the perfect, size 12 inch fan so i'm just attaching, all these together, for those of you who don't have a cricut, and want to try this i've left a free, png i'll leave a link, below you can just go and print this out, and, fold and cut along the lines it shows, you or use it as a template on some, decorative paper,to make a fan,now i'm just using some yarn and i'm,threading it through, the holes that are automatically cut out, here on the bottom, you just want to tie it really tight and, that holds everything, together and allows you to spread out,the fan,to make a perfect circle, next are these trick or treat candy bags,i thought these turned out so cute,i'm using just some clear sticker paper, from neato labels i'll leave a link down,in the description for this, but this is really good sticker paper, and it's clear and it has like a glossy, finish,i just created some labels in inkscape, using some, label shapes i made a border and then, just created, some text also used some clip art to,create, some little frog eyes back bones and, scratch marks things like that for the, labels, but i'll leave you a free download for, this so you can just go ahead and print, this out,on your sticker paper so you can create, these labels at home, you can upload these designs to cricut, design space i'll leave a card up above,to show you how to do that, but i just directly printed them off on,my printer and instead of using my,cricut machine,to cut these out i'm just going to use,my little sliding cutter, and you can use a pair of scissors if,you don't have a cricut to do this, now i'm just using some paper bags and,i'm going to fold the top down about two, inches because you'll need that to close, the bag,but all i did was just remove the labels, and stick those directly onto the bag,i'm using the backing to kind of smooth,it out so that i don't spread the ink, around, then i'm just using a hole punch and i'm,punching two holes in the top of the bag,and at this point go ahead and fill your, bag with candy and then you can, push some ribbon through the top and tie,a little bow,so moving on to project number six i,love the vintage black bottle decor,i didn't want it to look like a wine, bottle and i didn't want it to be too, spooky,so i just took a grape juice bottle and, removed the label i just kind of,scratched it off in the beginning,i used some acetone to remove, what was left of the label and then i'm,just going to take some soap and water, and a steel sponge to remove the rest, and the steel sponge, surprisingly did not scratch the bottle,at all but it did take off,all of the label probably took me around, five minutes to remove the label,so now that i have it dried and all the, label removed i'm just going to spray, paint it with that same, black matte spray you saw earlier and, just going to let it dry,for about 20 minutes, nito labels also sent me some really, neat pre-cut,labels they are on glossy white sticker, paper and these you don't even have to,use a cricut they come pre-cut,so i thought it would be neat to use the, bottle top and the bottle base, labels you can go on their website and, just create your own designs on,there if you don't want to do this on,cricut design space, but i just went in there and found a,background, for both the top and bottom parts of the, label, and i just kind of painted it and you,can also add your own, images they have images already on here, that you can add like these, little cute bats then i went back in and, added a,letter um i was going to put pumpkin, juice on this so i just added a,p on the label, then i went back into the bottom and i,just found this clip art on,a line of this little black pumpkin and, added that on there, and all you have to do is just stick, this paper in your printer,on their website you can also align, your label paper and make sure that, you're getting a really good cut you, just follow the directions on,the website but i thought these turned, out so good and glossy and the colors, really came out really good and i'll,leave a link for these as well, but then i just stuck those on the, bottle, and then as a finishing touch i just, added this little pumpkin juice decal,on the bottle so again that it wouldn't,look like a wine bottle, but i thought this turned out so cute, and my kids loved it,what would my channel be without some, kind of wooden farmhouse, sign so i added this in here i just cut,out a little, decal this is also going to be down in,the description box if you want to do,this,i also made this little wooden sign box,i have a video coming out thursday that, shows you how,i made these little sign boxes but i,just went ahead and made this sign box,and i painted it with some white, chalk paint and of course cut the decal, out on,cricut,i size this to about six and a half, inches wide so that it would fit on a,seven, inch square sign,do,so for our last project today i thought,it would be fun to make some, window cling decals i couldn't find the, window cling material that qriket sells, but i just used, some removable vinyl and you definitely, don't want to use the permanent because,it will not come off your window it,easily but i did use removable, and it worked good for these this, clipart i did purchase off of etsy i'll,try to leave a link for it,and the girls shop down below but,i just uploaded it into design space and,i sized it to fit,out on my window panes,i did end up putting some transfer tape, over the top because some of these had, some really small, details, but my favorite is definitely the, halloween house the haunted house and,the spider webs, thank you guys so much for watching this, video i hope this gave you some great, ideas to start with your cricut machine,or just to do in general for halloween,if you like this video leave me a thumbs,up so i know you like this kind of,content and if you're not subscribed to,my channel i hope you'll consider, subscribing but again thank you for, watching i'll see you guys again in a,few days with another video, you

DOLLAR TREE HALLOWEEN DIYS 🎃 (easy affordable hacks try this 2022)

DOLLAR TREE HALLOWEEN DIYS 🎃 (easy affordable hacks try this 2022)

what's wrecking family so you guys asked, for halloween diys and that's what i'm,bringing to you today dollar tree is,getting it a bunch of halloween decor, right now and though it looks like fall, behind me it's actually 91 degrees, outside so let me know the weather near, you is it feeling like fall at all, anyways let's begin the video the next, time you're in dollar tree pick up one,of their mop heads they carry them on,their own or you can buy the one that, has a handle attached to it this part is,optional but hear me out it looks way, better if you untwist the fabric that's,twisted on the mop creating thinner, pieces you want your mop to be stiff so,use a max hold hairspray and spray one, side once it's dry flip the mop over and, spray the other side i used suave max, hold hairspray i then spray painted my,mop using a brown spray paint you can,use acrylic paint if you like it's just, more time consuming and i also like that, the spray paint helps stiffen the mop, even more once the spray paint has dried,i brought the mop inside and used a,light brown paint to create some, highlights we're trying to make the mop, look like a straw broom i've included, some rope on top of the mop to make it,look more aged now this is how you're,going to get your broom to move go to,five below and pick up a remote control, car for five dollars you'll need to use, something flat like a square block to,attach the mop and the card together, flip your mop over to reveal the plastic, piece that is underneath the mop and, then use a heavy duty glue like e6000 to,attach the wood block to the mop and to,the car i also use some hot glue because,it just dries more quickly and makes, things go a little bit faster you can,use the mop handle that comes with the,mop if you like but i decided to use a,wooden dowel that i got for around a,dollar and fifty cents from walmart just, because it's very lightweight i also, painted this doll a brown color and then, glued some rope to the top of it to give,it a more antique reason you have to,stiffen up the mop is so that the fabric, doesn't keep getting stuck underneath, the car wheels it just kind of floats, with the car this is an original idea, that i had to think real hard on how to,make it work it does work it cost me ten, dollars to make when it retails for, eighty dollars on amazon and make sure, you follow me on tick tock because i,plan on doing something similar using a,roomba, every year dollar tree gets in these, ghosts if you have a ceiling fan you can,do a cool hack with these what you're,going to do is you are just going to tie, them to the ceiling fan i'm using twine,to attach mines to the ceiling fans and, guess what, that's it you just tie them to the, ceiling fan then turn the ceiling fan on,it looks like there is ghost flying, around your house and don't worry the, ghosts are very lightweight so they, won't be bending any of the fans on your, ceiling fan this is an easy hack to do,and it looks really really cool if the, fabric is a little bit too long for you,you can always trim that down, the next time you're in dollar tree pick,up two cocoa plant liners you won't,believe what you can make with these, you're going to place them inside of,each other to basically make a pacman, head shape and when you have that shape, down you can then glue them to each, other hold the cocoa liners together, until the glue has completely dried and, then move on to gluing another section, when you're in dollar tree pick up a,broom handle you're going to trace the, broom handle on the bottom of your, coconut liner and create a hole using, some scissors you're then going to push, the handle through that hole now it's,time to paint your coconut liner i'm,using a lime green color on the coconut, liner i recommend using a paint sponge,to paint this it makes it so much easier, and do a stippling motion versus a,stroke the edge of the coconut liners, has what looks already like a lip so i,painted that area red i also used black, paint i mixed it with my green paint and, with my red paint to shade different, areas and then i used the black paint on,its own especially in the inside of the, mouth our mouth needs teeth i'm going to,be using craft foam i got from hobby, lobby but dollar tree also carries white, craft foam it's just hard to find, sometimes i glue them inside of the, mouth just using hot glue and i don't,like to keep them all white so i use, some shades of brown paint to just dirty,up the teeth a little bit now i got a,pool noodle from dollar tree i cut it,down to about three feet and i push my,broomstick through the pool noodle now,i'm going to be using a planter i got, from dollar general for ten dollars,we're flipping it over and we're using, our drill to create a big hole at the, bottom this way we can place our, broomstick through this hole you don't,want it to be too big otherwise the, broomstick is gonna fall right over i,placed some gravel and stones at the, bottom of this the stones were from, dollar tree and the gravel was from, walmart you just want this to be,weighted at the bottom so it's not easy,to tip over i ended up painting the pool, noodle i just used a darker green black, and brown paint once i have that done,it's time to attach some fake greenery, now this greenery i got at hobby lobby, you can use dollar tree greenery but you,end up spending more at dollar tree than, you do just going to a craft store and, getting it on sale and when i glued the, greenery to the coconut liner i held it,in place while i wait for the glue to,dry that's how i made these almost five, feet tall venus fly traps and i made, them for under 25 i only needed four, dollar tree products plus the greenery, from hobby lobby which was eight dollars, and then the planter which was ten, dollars, okay for this project you want to pick,up some gift boxes from dollar tree i,went with two of these cylinder shapes, and i'm removing the lid you're also, going to need some craft foam i,purchased this big pack from walmart you,get 50 sheets for a little over five, dollars i'm starting off with the bigger, cylinder and i'm taking the lime green, foam and cutting it out to go around the, cylinder i'll also be cutting a piece, that's going to go on the top once i,have those pieces cut i use some glue to,attach them to the cylinder boxes i used, foam glue on the bigger pieces that go,on the sides just because sometimes hot, glue can mess with the shape of foam so,i didn't want any weird lines going, through the pieces on the side i'm going,to be making three different tiers the, bottom one is supposed to be a little, frankenstein so i use my black foam to,create some hairs stitches the eyes and,the mouth now for the second tier i go,ahead and glue the box on top of my,frankenstein and this one i turned into,a ghost so i used white foam for this, and then black foam for the features i,decided i wanted to do one more smaller, tier i didn't use a box for this but, dollar tree does carry small boxes you,can use in the craft supply section if,you want instead i just took the foam, and created a cylinder shape with that, foam and this is supposed to be a tiny, little pumpkin you guys know i love to,make fake sweets on this channel and i,usually do these with spackle i decided,to do one that's done without spackle to,give you guys some options i'm gonna be,using pom poms from dollar tree as the, icing for this as well as some ribbon, and this ribbon i got at hobby lobby on,sale for a dollar and fifty cents you, just hot glue them wherever you see fit,and if you want to go with tobacco you, most definitely can finally i just, painted on a little bit more features, for instance some more whites on the eye,and then i wanted to give my ghost and,the pumpkin some cheeks so i use the, light pink pink to do that and that's,how you make a foam and pom pom cake, instead of doing the spackle and of,course you can always add spackle to,this to truly make it look like a cake, either way this is adorable and so easy,to do recently on my channel i shared, with you guys how to make a giant, gingerbread house out of dollar tree, foam board i knew when i did that we had,to make a haunted house so i picked up,some black foam board from dollar tree, and i recommend having a box cutter or,an x-acto knife on hand to cut through, your foam board i like using an l,bracket just to figure out where to cut, exactly and get a straight line now i'm,not going to give you guys the exact, dimensions for this because it's a,little bit hard for me to do but, basically figure out a haunted house, design that you want to make i make sure, both the front and the back of the, haunted house are the exact same thing i,also ended up cutting out some little, pieces that are going to go in the front,of the house so it pops out a little bit, more i'm going to put fairy lights, inside of my haunted house so i need, windows so that you can actually see the, fairy lights so i just go ahead and i,cut out windows i don't try to make, every window the exact same size as the, window i cut before i just try my best, with it now once you have all your walls, cut you can then start gluing them to a,base a foam board now you're going to,have a lot of scrapped leftover pieces,of foam board cut those pieces into, smaller pieces that you're gonna use to,help support your walls so as you glue, your walls down you layer some of those, little scrap pieces to just help keep, everything nice and upright i used five, pieces of foam board to do this and let,me tell you guys it really was so easy,to do,now the truly fun part decorating the, house i got these black webs from dollar, tree and i just placed them on top of,the haunted house like i said i want to,put fairy lights inside of my haunted, house i got these from amazon i'll link, them down below they're remote, controlled which makes it really nice, because you don't want to have to put, your hand inside of there every single, time to turn them on and i put three, fairy lights inside of each kind of,compartment of my haunted house, dollar tree carries bat clips and, spiders that are perfect for this so i,decided to clip and glue some of these, pieces onto the haunted house and after,i did all this i was like you know what, this this needs a little something else,so i decided to dry brush some white, paint so basically what that means is,you take a brush dip it inside of some, paint remove most of the paint from the, brush and then do light strokes over, your project and this is going to kind,of create a very distressed look that's,how i made a haunted house using five, pieces of foam board from dollar tree i,love this thing so much it is so cool, and i feel like you can take advantage,of the inside of the haunted house and, maybe put some ghost or something inside,of there i truly love this diy and if,you recreate it make sure you tag me,because i would love to see it,every year i love to make potion bottles,on my channel i don't like to just put, labels on the front i like to make them, unique so i'm going to share with you, everything i stuck in my bottles for the, first bottle i got these bones from, dollar tree and i place the bones inside,of the bottle all of the bottles i'm,using are from dollar tree the second, bottle i'm going to be using the small, little skull heads that i got at,michael's i paid around four dollars for, them halloween and michaels is already,on sale for 40,off i then cut down some of these, broomsticks that i got from dollar tree,i had to cut them down to fit the inside,of this glass i got foam bones from, dollar tree so i put those in another, glass i decided to dirty up some water, with some acrylic paint and pour that, into the first glass that has the bones,so it would look a little bit different, from the one that has the foam bones in,another glass i'm going to be placing, some of these spiders that i also got, from dollar tree if you don't want to,buy a bunch of individual things for the, glasses i recommend getting food, coloring this way you're able to use, water and food coloring to get some, really spooky potion bottles finally the, last bottle i have to share with you, guys which is my favorite i got one of,those bigger ghosts that you saw me use, earlier and i cut some pieces down that,i filled up with some cotton at the top,and tied i'm making little ghosts out of,these and then i just painted little, faces on them i'm going to be putting, these inside of the bottle i did glue, the bigger ghost to the lid of the, bottle so that way they kind of float up,a little bit better i made some labels,i'll link down below for you guys that i,printed out on some sticker paper and, then i cut out just using my scissors so,here are the labels and what goes with, each bottle the skulls has a label that, says pickled skulls then the brooms have,a witch's broom label the ghosts have a,bottle of booze label the foam bones, have a label that says bone powder it's,not, powdery by any means but hey the, spider's label is spider venom then the, potion bottles that i made with the food, coloring the red one i did arsenic, poisoning then the green one is snake, venom finally our last label is dragon, bones and that's how you make these, really cool unique potion bottles don't,get me wrong i still like the bottles, where they just have a label on the, front and the bottle is like a solid, color however i prefer these these are,so much more interesting to look at and, they can be kind of funny if you can, find a cool play on words like the, bottle of booze one i love love love, making potion bottles on this channel, but like i said i like to do them in a,unique way, last year we used the dollar tree doll, houses to make haunted houses we're,gonna do something similar but different,i'll be using two of the pink doll, houses from dollar tree i'm removing the, windows frames doors, roof everything from it i'm just gonna, have the base of the house i painted one, house all yellow and then the other, house all orange i had to do a few, layers of paint to get an opaque look so,i did one layer of paint wait for it to,dry and then move on to the next layer, you don't want to keep adding layers, when the paint is still wet otherwise, you're not going to achieve the look, that you want dollar tree carries white, houses as well and i'm going to be using, this for the top of what i'm making i,removed again all the window frames the, door frame the roof and i'm just keeping, that all white but i did paint the roof,of this house black then the doors i,took out of the houses i painted yellow, orange and white,i'm going to be stacking the houses on,top of each other to do this i have to,remove the plastic corners that are on,the bottom of the houses that are going,to be stacked on top of each other if,you don't remove those pieces you won't,be able to glue them down flat to each, other so i removed those pieces and then,i glued the houses down and basically,i'm making a candy corn house you can, then put back in your windows and the, frames i only put back in the windows, that were white and i actually used some,of the windows from the, bottom houses, for the top of the roof then glued the, houses to a piece of foam board because,i'm going to be using spackle you put, speckle inside of a piping bag with an,icing tip and then you just treat it as,if it were icing that you're icing on,top of a gingerbread house dollar tree, does carry spackle but my favorite, spackle is dap spackle that you find at,home depot it's just creamy you don't,have to mix it with water you get more, bang for your buck i like it a lot more,so i just did like some different, designs on top of this i embellished, this with some fake candy corns and i'll,link the seller i used down below for,you guys i got it from etsy, then i used some puff paint from dollar, tree to create more detailed designs, that i really cannot do with the spackle,to make it look more like a gingerbread, house little designs that look like, lights and wreaths, and snow,it's just easier to use the puff paint, for these designs than spackle like i,said because spackle it's like,no you would have a very hard time doing, this with spackle so we are making a,gingerbread haunted house type of,situation even though this is candy corn,so it's a little bit sweeter it's so,cute and easy to do you guys and it's,really fun because you can go like any, design it doesn't have to be just candy, corn i absolutely love the way that this, turned out i want to make some little, fake cookies to go along with this, right now at dollar tree you can find, halloween christmas trees i'll be using, nine for this project i remove the, bottom off of all the trees except one,and then push all the branches of the, trees to one side i'm going to share, with you how you can make one bigger, substantial fuller tree using multiple, trees dollar tree christmas trees are, very sparse they look kind of sad on,their own so you want to get at least, two to make a fuller tree i recommend, three but you want at least two what, you'll do is you'll use zip ties to,attach a group of trees together whether, that's two three four more than four it,just starts to look like funny so what, you're gonna do is just use those zip, ties and tie all your trees together so,i'm gonna do three rows of trees and in,each row there's gonna be three attached,to,each other so i have the top of my,christmas tree which is three trees and, then when i attach the middle of the, christmas tree i attach the top of these, trees that i'm adding to the bottom of,the trees that are already there and, that's how i attach all the trees, together all the trees are attached you,can cut the zip ties off and then place, the stands on the one piece that you, still left the plastic on,i'll share with you guys how i decorated, mine dollar tree carries miniature, ornaments that are great for these mini, trees i picked up three packs and i,mainly focused on the front of my tree i,do this with my christmas tree too i,don't put ornaments all the time all, around the tree i just make sure that if,i don't put it on the back i don't make, the front too weighted otherwise it'll,fall over on you i also added some of,these ornaments these i ended up getting,at home goods i got them last year they, were 9.99,so i placed some of those on my tree, right now dollar tree has candy corn, picks so i remove the candy corn off of,the pigs and then i glue them to the, christmas tree i purchased this ghost, pick from michael's for a little over, two dollars this is going to be my tree, topper and then i used one of the webs, from dollar tree as the skirt for my,tree that's how you make a bigger tree, using these small trees from dollar tree, this tree is about three feet tall and,it cost me 11.25,to make which is a steal of course the, price of the ornaments that's different, but the tree base itself was 11.25,right now dollar tree has foam skulls in,and what's nice about these is they are, easier to work with than the plastic, ones they get in so what i'm doing is,i'm taking this little like skewer it's,honestly a kitchen thing i'm making a,hole through my skulls and then feeding,a broomstick through the skulls i'll be,using five total i figure out how i want, these skeletons to look when they're,stacked on top of each other and i make, the holes according to that and i really, recommend using something,to create those holes instead of just, the broomstick because it's really hard,to create a hole with just a broomstick, once i have all the skulls on top of the, broomstick i went outside and i spray, painted them with a cream color i,decided to spray paint them again as i,said earlier it's just it's faster to do,for me but you can always use an acrylic, paint i then went in with acrylic paint,to add the details so the shading the, highlighting that i need the cracks that,i need i kind of just played it by ear i,started with black and i put those, inside of the areas i wanted to be the, darkest so the eyes and the nose i then, went in with like brown tones and tried,to make the skulls look a little bit, more dirty, and then i did like a grayish color, around the teeth just figure out what, works for you,i purchased this planter at dollar tree,i'm gonna be gluing some foam pieces, also from dollar tree to the bottom of,the planter and once i have those foam, pieces in i push my broomstick through, the foam so now it's standing upright i,placed the kitchen towel at the bottom,of this to dummy it up so that i could, put some stones from dollar tree inside,of here but not have to use as many, stones you need something down there, though that's weighted otherwise this is,going to fall over on you because it's,so lightweight to really spook this up i,put some webs from dollar tree on the, bottom of this and that's it that's how,i made this i don't really know what you, want to call this like tower of skulls i,i don't know but it's really spooky, looking, really wanted to do another diy using, the foam skulls from dollar tree so for, this project we're gonna need two of the, paper towel holders from dollar tree you,are going to push two heads through a,paper towel holder and then once you, have those two heads through there you, take another paper towel holder and put,it through the top of the skull now i,purchased two of these wood rounds from, dollar tree i'm going to be gluing my,paper towel holders to these wood rounds, using hot glue i recommend using, something else than hot glue i'm just, using hot glue because it dries quickly, and i'm filming i'm trying to do things, fast if you use hot glue like i did, though do not put anything heavy on top,of this and make sure you put more hot, glue on the bottom paper towel holder, that's touching that bottom wood piece, don't worry about it it gets covered up,or you can use something to cover it up,i then went ahead and i spray painted, this entire thing black i then went in,with some gold acrylic paint to,highlight areas of the skull that's how,you make this really cool skull stand i,wouldn't put anything too heavy on the,top of this especially if you use hot, glue i absolutely love the way that this, one turned out, this is a simple project you can get, these traffic cones in the toy section,of dollar tree and just paint them to,look like candy corn make sure you're,using a paint that is meant for outside, use so in this case you're just going to,use white and yellow paint and you're,going to have to do a few layers of this, because it's plastic if you use an,acrylic paint it doesn't really go on,plastic the nicest the first time around,so you have to do a few layers to get, that opaque look what you see right here,is my second layer of paint and you can,see it starts looking way more opaque, with the second layer of paint you can,use this outside to make some really, cute decor i think it's super unique, because i never really see people, decorate with candy corn outside the, other thing you can do is get styrofoam, from dollar tree the ones that look like, cones and paint that instead which i,prefer this way just because i don't,have to do a bunch of layers of paint i,just do one the way you get these to,stand outside without falling over with, any type of wind is by using bamboo, skewers from dollar tree i break them in,half i stick them in the ground and then, put the cone over the skewer and i go,straight down with the cone so that the, skewer doesn't poke out of the sides and, that's it these are so cute i want to,make more and have them all over for, halloween, for our next project you're going to,need some wood beads dollar tree carries, them they're unfinished you can paint, them black if you want or,you can buy them already colored and i,have this black garland i bought at,walmart last year when it was on,clearance i probably paid like a dollar, for all of this so i'm going to use that, instead, now i'm going to also be using some fake, apples you can get these at hobby lobby, for inexpensive price i think i paid, three dollars for a big bag of them,we're going to be making poison apple, garland so i'm going to be using these, yarn needles and i'm going to tie some, string through one of the yarn needles i,then i'm going to start putting some, beads on top of that and as i put beads,i'm also going to be putting some of the, foam, apples now i want to do this beforehand, because once i have glue on top of this, which is what we're going to be using,i'm going to have a hard time getting, the needle through the glue so i need, this big needle to get through the foam,of the apple and i use pliers to pull it,out so i push the needle through the, apple and then use pliers to pull it out,i used a mixture of red and green apples, now to get the poison apple face and the, look of it i'm going to be using hot, glue now when you're doing this you, don't want to hold the apple for long, just hold it to get the initial face, down and then once you start to pour the, rest of the hot glue stop holding the, apple unless you want to burn your, fingerprints off unless you have those, glue gun finger protectors you can use, those but if you don't have those, don't hold it long because you will burn, your fingers make sure wherever you're,pouring the hot glue on the apple you, don't mind hot glue getting on that, surface so in this case i had these, little coasters that i was using if the,hot glue got on there it's really easy,to take off i like to use hot glue for, this because i like the 3d look it gives,it it makes it look more like it was, dipped into something you can always, just use paint instead and not do it,this way but i really do like the way, that the hot glue makes this look wait, for the hot glue to completely dry, before you start to paint over it i used,a lime green paint and a red paint the,red apples i painted with the lime green, and the green apples i painted with the,red color you are going to have to do a,few layers of paint and wait for each, layer to dry before putting on your next, layer the reason you're gonna have to do,a few layers of paint is to get the, opaque look unless you don't really mind,a bit of the hot glue still showing, underneath your paint now to hang this,on top of my fireplace i'm just tying, the ends of my garland to some command, strips and then i place that on my,fireplace now this garland is heavy, because of the apples so to get the, apples to stay where i want them to stay, put i'm using some glue dots that i got, from dollar tree i just place them on,the back of each apple and then place, the apple exactly how i want it to be i,made this garland a little bit too long, for my fireplace so please try to excuse, that this garland is so darn cute i have, never seen something like this before,i've seen the poison apples that you can,buy but i've never seen a garland of it,it's so cute to do and last year i made, the poison apples but i made them bigger, and it's the exact same thing as before,it's just easier to make the faces on,the bigger apples you use your hot glue, gun to create the face and the little, dip look to it and then once the glue, dries you can paint it i did shade, around the eyes and the nose with some, black paint on these apples to really, give it some dimension,i shared this project last year not, everyone has seen it so i want to,reshare it because it's really good you,can get some blank t-shirts at dollar, tree if you can find 100 cotton t-shirts,i recommend getting those you're also, going to pick up some of their diy wood, blanks then get an empty spray bottle, and bleach you're going to fill the, spray bottle up with bleach if you have,a piece of cardboard lying around put, that in between your t-shirts what we're,going to do is we are going to place our, wood blanks on top of the t-shirts and, spray the bleach on top of that what, happens is the design that's on the wood, blank transfers onto your t-shirts the, bleach just goes around it but still, leaves the design it's really really, cool, after they're done you can go ahead and, wash these inside of the washing machine, and that's it so easy to do and super, cool next up we're going to be making, the hocus pocus book from dollar tree, you want to pick up a blank book as well,as their faux leather that you're going,to find near all of the cricket items so,it's a long roll what you'll do is,you'll cut that piece down to wrap, around the inside of the book as well as,the outside once you have that cut down, just glue it into place with your hot, glue gun now we'll be using some fake, eyeballs from dollar tree you're going,to want to go ahead and cut those in,half all you have to do is find the hole, that's in the ball and then put your, scissor through it and that way you'll,be able to cut it in half once you have,it cut in half take the part that has,the iris and glue that onto your book, now this is the most time consuming part,of this diy but it is so easy to do you, just take your hot glue gun and you use,it to create the designs that are on the, book you want to do layers of this so in,the corners of the book there's these, little snake designs so you want to,start off with a layer there and that's,going to be the very base of the design, and once that dries start adding the, snake design over it so it starts to,give it that 3d effect another example, are the stitches and the wounds i,started off making the wounds and then i,waited for that to dry and then i went, over that with the glue again to create, the stitches and that's how i created, the 3d effect after you have all your, designs down it's time to paint, everything i recommend going over every, design except for the eyelid area with, black paint this gives it a really good, base and it gives the paint that you, apply afterwards something to attach to,after i have every area that i want, painted black i then go in with my,colors the only colors i used on the, book itself not the eye were silver, black, white and brown paint if you're into, highlighting and shading like i am all,you have to do is dip your finger inside,of the paint and rub it over the leather,it's really easy to blend it that way, versus using a paint brush and that's,how i shade it and i highlighted the, book the only other thing that was left, for me to do was to paint the eyeball, the eyeball of the hocus pocus book is,not yellow i went with blue i just used, some blue paint to paint over the iris, and then black paint to paint over the, pupil a little more i love the way that, this book came out if you cannot find, the leather from dollar tree i will link,my other tutorial down below for you, guys that one i use toilet paper and, anybody can find toilet paper i mean i,guess if it was 20 20 you might not have, been able to find toilet paper but now,you can moving right along from dollar, tree you're going to want to pick up,some of their hanging coffin signs and i,recommend at least using three but if,you want to use more, honestly the more the better and you're,also going to be using these chalkboard, signs again from dollar tree now i had,my husband cut down these signs to make, pieces that are going to go around the, coffin, again you do not need to use a saw or,anything like that you can use scissors, now go ahead and glue your coffins on,top of each other and the reason you, need a few of these is so that the, chalkboard has something to attach to so,once i have all of my coffins glued on,top of each other i can now attach the, chalkboard to the sides of the coffin,i used hot glue to do this but i really, recommend using a more heavy duty glue i,just use the hot glue because it dries, quickly and it i don't have to like wait, forever to finish, filming a video this part is completely, optional you can keep the imagery as is,but i decided to paint over that imagery, using some black paints, and i also painted over the edges of the, chalkboard now it's time to decorate the, inside of the coffin i got these skulls, from dollar tree and i'm going to be,gluing one on top of the other and i,just use hot glue to do this now as you,do this you're going to notice that, these skulls are kind of tipping over, because they're very lightweight they, don't have a base under them when you, stick them inside of the coffin the, walls of the coffin are gonna keep them, upright then i added some fairy lights, now i have to credit somebody for this, diy my husband if you guys like this diy,say thanks to matt in the comments, because he's the one who came up with, this he actually made a different coffin, using the wall shelves from dollar tree,we didn't have enough for me to do that,on camera so that's why i ended up using, the chalkboard signs i'm gonna show you, guys how i decorated his coffin i got, this little skeleton from dollar tree i,went ahead and glued him inside i added, some web and spiders from dollar tree, and then that's just how i decorated, matt's coffin so again thanks to matt, these are super cool they're about two, feet tall and they wouldn't even work, outside if you wanted them to that's it,for these halloween diys i hope you, enjoyed the video let me know your, favorite down in the comments and i will, see you next time take care bye

8 *EASY* Cricut Dollar Tree Halloween DIY Projects

8 *EASY* Cricut Dollar Tree Halloween DIY Projects

in this episode we are diving into eight super  simple DIY Cricut Dollar Tree Halloween projects  ,so let's get crafty hey i'm michael from the mr  crafty pants and crafty youtube channel but today  ,we are mixing it up i am over here on the design  bundles youtube channel and i am so excited for  ,this video now i am saving my favorite project  for the very last but let me know which was your  ,favorite down in the comment section be low so for  starters we are going to be hopping over here to  ,design bundles.net and this is the file right here  that i'll be using now we will be taking this and  ,actually customizing this little black oven mitt  from the the dollar tree now this is something  ,that they do have year round and as you can see  i did go ahead and upload this file onto the  ,qriket design space canvas now i will have all of  these files and really everything that i'm using  ,listed and linked down below so be sure to check  that out but as far as this goes the first thing  ,i'm going to do is actually come over here to the  layers panel now there are different groupings of  ,this so let me hide one of those groupings like  so and i think we'll be working with just this  ,one arm basically let's go ahead and delete this  one grouping like so just so it's less confusing  ,and then for this next one let's go ahead and come  down here and click on weld to make that all just  ,one single solid image like so now i will explain  a little bit more about why i wanted that to be  ,one single solid image and we'll get to that here  shortly but basically we are wanting to make this  ,element almost appear to some extent like it's an  x-ray right like you're actually seeing through  ,the oven mitts and into your hand and we will be  applying a glow-in-the-dark htv to this oven mitt  ,so when the lights go out i mean it's gonna  get a little spooky around here all right so  ,what i'm gonna do is actually go ahead and make  a template real quick for this little oven mitt  ,now i have already measured this out and  this is about 10 inches tall 10 inches high  ,right here and then as far as this goes i think  this is around 4 inches or so so what we're going  ,to do is actually go in here and create a template  by coming up here to shapes opening up a circle  ,like so i'll come up here to size and unlock  that padlock for the width let's put in here four  ,and for the height let's put in here 10. now  just so i can actually see our template just  ,so i can see our design anyone come up here while  our arm is selected while our bones is selected  ,and click on the little color swatch and make that  white also right click that and click on bring to  ,front so that we can drag this over here and on  top of part of our templates for our oven mitt so  ,basically imagine our template what we have  is basically the oven mitt but without the  ,thumb that's what we're trying to shoot for  here okay so we'll go ahead and roll out with  ,this we can then go ahead and grab the little  resize handle down here at the bottom right  ,drag this out and we're gonna go with something  like this right here i do believe now um we are  ,not going to be cutting out the thumb with the  rest of the fingers because i actually want that  ,to be separate so that we can go in here and  actually position that to fit perfectly onto  ,the oven mitt that'll make more sense here  shortly just stick with me all right so i am  ,going to come over here and we're just going to  go ahead and get rid of this little oval because  ,for what we need now we basically could just give  out with a rectangle and it'll be so much easier  ,so we come over here click on shapes open up a  square and then for this we'll do the same type of  ,measurement i'll come up here do 4 inches for the  width 10 for the height hit enter right click this  ,click on send it back and there we go i am going  to just kind of move the bone over here to where  ,it's going to slice off part of this thumb which  sounds a little gruesome but it'll make more sense  ,again here shortly let me go ahead and resize this  to kind of fit more appropriately on here yeah  ,i'm really liking this so basically the reason why  i'm kind of positioning the thumb to where it's at  ,is because we do want to go ahead and  click and drag over both of those layers  ,and then come down here towards the bottom right  and click on slice which is one of the reasons  ,why i wanted to go ahead and weld all the bones  together because with slice you can only slice two  ,layers at a time so let me go ahead and click on  that and there we go so there is part of our thumb  ,um we don't need all the bones down here so let me  go ahead and just kind of drag our bones over here  ,out of the way we don't need this anymore we don't  need this anymore either and then as far as this  ,goes we can go ahead and just click on this whole  this little set of bones and then come down here  ,click on contour and then click on the bones  like so that we want to kind of do away with  ,and there we go just like that super simple so  let's come up here click on make it now this is  ,the matte preview screen and since we are doing  htv let's come over here and click on mirror  ,and let's go ahead and kind of move this out of  the way so we can actually cut the thumb out apart  ,from the rest of the hand and position that on its  own let's also go ahead and click on continue and  ,then we're also going to come over here and select  the everyday iron on cut setting because i am  ,using the caesar easyweed glow in the dark gauge  tv again this will be listed and linked down below  ,now i have already skipped ahead and cut out and  weeded out my htv as you can see right here and  ,with this little thumb i'm just gonna go in here  and then just trim this out to be like on its own  ,for our oven mitt let's go ahead and  make sure that we do remove this tag  ,and then we can go ahead and position our hand  onto the oven mitt like so now the temperature  ,for the caesar easyweed glow-in-the-dark is 305  degrees and the time is around 15 seconds or so  ,so i'm gonna go ahead and just kind of swing this  around place this up here and onto our heat press  ,make sure that we are covering it up with  the little teflon sheet aka cover sheet  ,now as far as the thumb over here we are going  to let him just kind of hang out solo for for  ,the moment all right um so for this we are going  to go ahead and do the tekken method with htv you  ,always want to make sure you do the jacket method  if you are applying multiple layers the tacket  ,method basically means we're going to go in here  apply the right amount of heat but for not the  ,full amount of time if we don't want to overdo the  htv okay so let's go ahead and tack this down and  ,with something like this just like three seconds  or so should do the trick for us let me swing  ,this back out of the way and let's go ahead and  after we let that just cool just a brief second  ,not very long it's not needed to do this very long  at all we can go ahead and start peeling that back  ,let's also go in here and kind of position our  thumb where we want him to be at all right so i'm  ,thinking something like that should do the trick  i mean what do you all think do you all like it  ,let me know down in the comments so let's go  ahead and have that positioned cover this up  ,with the teflon sheet again and then again just  a few seconds is going to do the trick for us,i am going to go ahead and remove  that peel off that carrier sheet  ,now like to go in here and actually press it again  one final time no carrier sheets but with the  ,cover sheet the teflon sheets in this case for the  full amount of time so we'll do about 15 seconds, and there we go,now for the next two projects we will be using  a printable vinyl but actually making two very  ,different projects with that so let me show you  how for starters we will be using this black flame  ,candle company this this label that's so freaking  cool and we'll actually be making a little custom  ,candle jar with it but just hold on to y'all's  horses but glove okay because this is gonna be  ,so cool we will also be using this little  label pack right here now there's so much  ,goodness here especially for halloween so we will  be actually making a label for a little potions  ,jar sort of knot okay so just stay tuned  it's just it's so cool y'all it's so cool  ,now as far as this one goes just keep in mind  that this is currently 50 off at the time of  ,filming this i can't make promises of what that  will be in the future but if you see this and this  ,is still 50 off y'all better be grabbing that  i'm just saying like this is too cute not to  ,now for the spider venom label we'll be  using this little jar from the dollar tree  ,super cute so as you can see little cobwebs little  spiderwebs up top and an actual little jar itself  ,so we will actually be mixing up a potion here  shortly that we will actually add in here you do  ,not want to miss out on that but as far as the  size of our label goes what i'm going to do is  ,actually size this to be five inches wide so while  this is selected let's come here change out the  ,width for five inches and we are good to go there  now as far as our candle goes we'll be using this  ,little glass candle jar right here from the dollar  tree as well and as far as the sizing for this  ,we'll be going with three inches tall so let's  go ahead and come up here click on make it we  ,don't need to do anything here except for click  on continue now from there we will go in here  ,click on send to printer make sure that the add  bleed option is turned on i also like to go ahead  ,and click the use system dialog basically if you  don't want your print quality to completely suck  ,click on use system dialog i promise you it  makes a difference so let me show you how  ,let me go ahead and click on print now sometimes  that little system dialog box will be hiding  ,behind your screen so be sure to check there  just in case but as far as this goes for for  ,my printer anyway i do have the option to set  the quality to best and you all should know i  ,am always going to be setting the quality to best  that's just how i roll okay so let's go ahead and  ,we can print that out and from there we would go  in there and actually cut it out on our cricut  ,for this particular printable vinyl which is my  favorite it's the starcraft brand i use the light  ,card stock cut setting now surprise surprise i did  go ahead and sneak ahead and go print it out cut  ,it out and do all the things so what we're going  to do now is basically go in here and get our  ,jars all prepped and ready for this now for this  little black flame candle y'all we want this thing  ,to look old and spooky and wicked and like all the  things right like we don't want to look just like  ,shiny and brand new like this we got we have  to do something to this all right we gotta mix  ,it up a little bit so what i'm doing is grabbing  some alcohol ink and again all the stuff will be  ,listed and linked down below and let me tell y'all  when i say this stuff is easy to use it is easy  ,to use okay i'm gonna go in here basically just  kind of take this and just drag it down the jar  ,and then go in there pretty quickly with my brush  and just go over it like so you cannot mess this  ,up it is foolproof all right because honestly  you don't want this to look perfect you want  ,it to look mangy you want to look like it's  been sitting like in a witch's house for like  ,20 years okay hundreds of years even okay this  this does not need or should it look perfect, now i don't know about y'all but halloween  is like seriously one of my favorite holidays  ,i absolutely love it christmas honestly it  takes takes the number one spot but halloween  ,is a very very close second but let me know down  in the comments what your favorite holiday is  ,what your favorite traditions are i honestly  i just want to know all right so in my opinion  ,this is looking amazing so far like so so good  and you can honestly go in here and add as many  ,layers as you want to you can make it look  however you want to like so and honestly the  ,great thing about alcohol ink is if you think that  you messed up again you can't really mess this up  ,but if you want to change something go in here  with some rubbing alcohol go over top of it it  ,should kind of take that off pretty quickly and  easily we will also actually apply the label go  ,in here and do a little spray sealant over top  of everything to kind of seal everything in,all right so this is looking amazing already and  alcohol ink honestly dries pretty freaking fast as  ,well so now i'm gonna go in here and actually  peel off my label and i think i want to place  ,this right about here now i did get just a normal  regular candle from the dollar tree to put in here  ,which you'll see here in a second but if you  can find an actual black candle so much better, all right so as far as this jar goes since we are  not applying any type of coating onto the outside  ,of the plastic i am going to go in here and just  actually go over this with a rubbing alcohol  ,just kind of get off any dirt oil grease grime  ,that will prevent our label from  properly adhering down to this, now as far as the little magical potion for  the inside of our little spider venom jar  ,let's go ahead and pour in some rubbing alcohol, and now i'm gonna grab some  mica powder this eye candy  ,mica powder right here and then just  scoop out a little bit for inside of this  ,and then just to add a little bit more magic  i'm gonna go in here with some starcraft glitter  ,in cowabunga and then let's go ahead and  just top this off with some more alcohol  ,it honestly would not be a bad idea to glue the  lid down especially if you have kids lastly for  ,this jar i'm going to grab some little spiders  that i also found at dollar tree of course  ,and we're going to go in here  and hot glue it down to the lid,all right so next up we are customizing a  little wine glass also from dollar tree with  ,a really cute and funny saying so we're using  this one right here also from design bundles  ,again this one is 50 off or at least  it is at the time of filming this so  ,if you spot this and it's still fifty percent  off grab it it's two dollars so let's go ahead  ,and hop over here to qriket design space so the  first thing i want to do is come over here to  ,the layers panel and start putting these together  like the layers together where they should be so  ,what i'm going to do is go in here and hold down  the shift key as i click all of the black layers  ,then come down here and click on weld then  let's go in here and hold down the shift key  ,again while i click on these little orange layers  and then weld again and the same for the white  ,you can also go ahead and click on  that white and click on send to back  ,and there we go now we do need to go in here and  actually resize this to fit onto our wine glass  ,and the size for this needs to be three inches  tall so let's go ahead and make sure that all  ,this is selected and then come up here change  out the height on here to three inches let's go  ,ahead and click on make it go ahead and click on  continue and then we can go ahead and proceed to  ,cut everything out again the vinyl that everything  that i'm using is listed and linked down below  ,now as far as the wine glass goes we do also want  to go in here since we are using an adhesive vinyl  ,and remove the film from the glass just to  make sure that it does adhere down correctly  ,i have also went ahead and cut everything out as  you can see here this is such a cool vinyl i'm  ,just i'm so obsessed with this i'm also going to  use some style tech clear medium tag transfer tape  ,apply it down to this flip over the vinyl and then  peel the backing paper off of everything like so  ,now the great thing about parchment paper is that  vinyl will not stick down to it or at least it  ,won't to most types of parchment paper there are  some like off brands that if it will basically  ,the vinyl will stick to it it'll ruin your vinyl  so be sure to do a small little test beforehand  ,but basically i like to go ahead and cover up  most of my design with the parchment paper so  ,that i can go ahead and place this down correctly  exactly where i want it to go on the cup i'm also  ,using one of these little squeegees from 143  vinyl to kind of balance everything like so and  ,once you have it where you want it grab a little  squeegee burnish down the little top part of that  ,lift up on that transfer tape remove the parchment  paper and then squeeze the rest of it down, and then we'll just repeat that exact  same process for the other layers, now in my opinion y'all dollar tree has definitely  upped their game i mean albeit they did also up  ,their price by 25 cents but still i mean at least  we're getting something extra for it right so  ,in my opinion like they have just really kind  of went above and beyond on some of their new  ,products i am in love these little wooden little  pumpkins like so and what's really great about  ,this in my opinion anyway is that even though  there is one side with a little i guess more  ,thanksgiving quote to it we can flip this thing  over and use the back side for halloween and then  ,flip it back around and use it for thanksgiving  when that time comes now i am also gonna go  ,in here and just remove the little raffia bows  because that's not my thing that's not my vibe not  ,my style but if it is for you then you do you boo  now as far as how we actually decorate these let's  ,hop over here to designbundles.net because i'm  going to use this little halloween pumpkin face  ,silhouette set now let me just also let you all  know i personally thought that this was svg files  ,when i purchased it um come to find out though  it's not it's png files which is fine because  ,all we have to do is go inside a qriket design  space like so and whenever we actually go to  ,upload that file we would just click on complex i  mean technically for something like this you could  ,definitely click on simple but i always always  always go to the complex it has never done me  ,dirty so let's go ahead and click on continue  let's click on apply and continue and then  ,for this we will save this as a cut image like so  all right so as far as the faces that we're using  ,we're actually going to go with this little trio  right here and i even go in here and actually make  ,templates to actually match the backside of our  pumpkins so let's come over here click on shapes  ,open up a square unlock the little proportions  up here with the padlock and for the width  ,we have 3.25 inches and for the height we have 5.5  inches now that is basically the same measurements  ,in real life to where our pumpkin is  here so take down the measurements  ,you can then go inside a qriket design space and  create a virtual template that you know you can  ,resize your face to fit perfectly on here so  let's come up here change the color although  ,the color let's be real does not amount to hilla  beans but we can go in here and change it so you  ,can kind of get a visualization of what this is  all going to look like let's click on send it  ,back and then let's go in here and just kind  of measure down these faces to fit onto here, let's come over here hide  our template click on make it  ,click on continue and then put in our cut settings  for our vinyl now i am using the starcraft hd  ,permanent adhesive vinyl i love that stuff  it's so so so good so i'm gonna go ahead and  ,grab my transfer tape and apply it down to our  vinyl and then apply it down to our pumpkins, now truth be told some of our little stems  here had like little paint peeled up when we  ,removed that raffia but dollar tree also  has some really cute ribbon that you can  ,go in there and tie around there or even go in  here and just touch it up a little paint brush, and one thing i have been absolutely in love with  lately is the huge variety of wood blings that  ,dollar tree now has and this is no exception  so what we're going to do is transform this  ,into a super cute little door hanger with one of  these files from design windows.net as well now  ,let me also just say i love this designer  like he is so so talented i've actually  ,worked with him in the past on some projects super  talented and very very very high quality designs  ,and this is no exception plus i mean right now  it's 50 off it's like 250 249 i mean this is  ,such a freaking steal like it's so good and as you  can see it is now here perfectly on our canvas now  ,since this file is just so easy to use all we  really need to worry about is actually resizing  ,it to fit our pumpkin let's go ahead and come up  here and click on make it let's click on continue  ,and go to the process of picking out our cut  settings for our vinyl again i'm using the  ,starcraft hd for that i typically use the premium  vinyl permanent glossy or just vinyl but before we  ,actually apply anything down to this this needs a  little bit of a makeover so what we're going to do  ,is actually paint this with the starcraft chalk  and mineral paint and like a nice orange color  ,so here we go and here we go right here so what  we'll do is actually go ahead and grab our decal  ,right here like so and apply down the transfer  tape and then apply it down to our door hanger, now with a permanent adhesive vinyl they  are pressure activated so you don't want  ,to squeegee down too hard on that because well  the pressure will activate the adhesive on the  ,back even more so and we don't want that yet we  don't want it sticking down to the backing paper  ,all you really need is like a nice little glide  across it just enough to actually get that vinyl  ,to stick down to that transfer tape and then  flipping it over and then peeling the backing  ,off instead of trying to lift the transfer tape  up with the vinyl this again this is such a game  ,changer like so so so easy y'all we'll just go  in here now and line this all up squeegee it down, and finish it out,and to finish it off all i would do is actually  go in here with some ribbon from the dollar tree  ,and hot glue each end to the back of this like so  ,another thing that i absolutely love about  halloween is the ability to transform normal  ,everyday and maybe even somewhat mundane objects  into something magical and spooky and over the top  ,for halloween so we're actually going to do that  with this little file set right here i am so here  ,for this i'm so excited and it is currently 50  off as well all these files will be listed and  ,linked down below but i'm actually going to grab  this little sub dispenser from the dollar tree  ,and go in here and wipe off the front of this  just to remove any film any dirt any grease  ,we will be using the little ghost face on this  just because it kind of fits right and something  ,like one and a half inches will do the trick just  fine so let's go in here change that width to 1.5  ,hit enter and there we go let's click on make  it click on continue and then obviously set our  ,cut settings for our vinyl now for this this  project i'm really excited because we're using  ,one of my releases one of my limited edition  vinyls over on 143vinyl.com and that is the purple  ,nurple glitter vinyl like it's so gorgeous  y'all it's so weird too it's like perfect for  ,halloween especially but it's almost like a black  glitter permanent adhesive vinyl with a very very  ,cool purpley shift to it it's gorgeous and to be  honest the camera does not do it justice so here  ,it is right here hopefully we can get some better  lighting here in a second to actually show y'all  ,what it really looks like but let's go ahead and  grab our our transfer tape squeegee it down to our  ,vinyl flip it over and then peel off the backing  grab our parchment paper and then lay this down, all right so i can't even begin to tell you  all how much i've been looking forward to this  ,project right here so this is like a little witch  hat basically a wreath frame for a witch's hatch  ,that you get at dollar tree now we are going to  take this we're going to wrap it in some tooling  ,which stay with me y'all because you all will  not believe how freaking gorgeous this looks  ,we're also going to go ahead and embellish it  with this little wooden sign also from the dollar  ,tree but what's really cool is we will actually be  sublimating a design down on top of this wood yes  ,sublimating on this dollar tree wood so i'm  actually going to go in here and just remove the  ,little string for now and as far as the pattern  that i want to sublimate on top of this that is  ,from this file set right here the spiderweb papers  so let's go ahead and hop over to canva.com and i  ,do use canva for sublimation like i love it it's  free to use you do not need to pay for an account  ,so let's go ahead and hop over here and click  on custom size and this is you know a little bit  ,bigger than what you could normally do with like  a normal 8 and a half by 11 sheet of sublimation  ,paper but i am going to use my brand new epson  15000 so you can actually print up like 11 by 17 i  ,believe so for this i'm gonna come over here click  on custom size switch that unit of measurement  ,over to inches and since i am using a piece of  11 by 17 inch sublimation paper from starcraft  ,let's go in here put 17 inches for the width 11  for the height and click on create a new design  ,from there i'm just going to go in here and click  and drag our file over here and onto the screen  ,like so and then just resize them just like that  and then just as simple let's go ahead and come up  ,here click on share click on download switch the  file type over to pdf print which it says is the  ,best for printing and then click on download like  so now as far as what we'll actually be wrapping  ,around the main portion of this hat like basically  everything except for the little brim of the hat  ,we will be wrapping this little tool also from  the dollar tree it's really cool it's like a  ,black slash dark purple with a brighter purple  like a glittery purple spiderweb on it now just  ,to make sure that we don't have everything be  super transparent i am going to go in here first  ,and wrap it with this other tooling like so  also from dollar tree and what i'm going to do  ,is kind of come in here from the back and wrap it  around this little center portion of the hat brim  ,basically just tie this down, all right so super cool so far but we are  going to take this up to the next level  ,and grab it this little spider web lace like so,now this little go around i am wrapping it  a little bit tighter just to get a little  ,bit more of a shape that i'm wanting and then as  far as like the little excess up here at the top  ,i'm gonna go in here and trim some of this off and  then we're gonna hot glue the rest of it back down,i'm also going to go in here  with these awesome little  ,these little spikes or picks or whatever you  want to call them also from the dollar tree  ,we're gonna go in here and just kind of wrap them  around and kind of glue them into place onto the  ,brim of the hat i'm mainly just taking like the  actual main wire wrapping it around the brim  ,and just to make sure it doesn't go anywhere  i'll go in there on top of it and just kind of  ,glue it down into place so basically here i'm  just wrapping the stem up that pick around the  ,wire frame of that wreath and then going in and  kind of gluing it or hot gluing it into place  ,i am actually using different types or different  forms of those picks from dollar tree and i'll  ,even go in here and actually add some tooling as  well just by wrapping it and tying it around that  ,wire frame all right so as you can see here i have  kind of finished the main brim of the witch's head  ,with all the little little picks and tooling and  all the things right and i will go in there and  ,actually fluff it up a little bit more before we  actually display it on our door but what i'm going  ,to work on now is actually sublimating our design  our little cobweb spider web design onto our  ,little wooden piece here from the dollar tree so  with this i do already have our design printed out  ,and basically ready to go all i'm going to do is  actually go in here and kind of cut out around the  ,parameter of our design like so so basically we're  just not wasting a bunch of the sublimation paper  ,we can actually use that design for other things  in the future if we wanted to we will also need  ,some butcher paper and basically what i have to do  with the butcher paper is get a good sized piece  ,fold it in half as you can see right here and  then cover the top and bottom to kind of catch  ,the blowout from that sublimation ink and make  sure it doesn't get onto your actual heat press  ,and also notice that i actually have  this like the actual piece of the design  ,face down onto the extra sublimation  paper as i'm cutting that around  ,i'm also gonna go in here with some heat tape  some caesar heat resistant tape i'm gonna go  ,in here and just kind of help tape down some  areas of this just make sure it doesn't budge, then we're putting in our design with  the sublimation paper like the back  ,side at that sublimation paper facing up and then  going over top of it again with that butcher paper  ,and then pressing it 385 degrees 45 to 60 seconds  i mean y'all how freaking cool is that i don't  ,know if you can see it on this camera or not but  you can definitely see all the little spider web  ,details it's just super cool all the way around so  basically what we'll do now is actually go in here  ,use some wire some floral wire to just secure  this down to our hat and we have a door hanger,so real quick which was your favorite  project be sure to let us know  ,down in the comment section below  thanks so much for watching we  ,love y'all to the freaking moon and  back and until next time stay crafty

Halloween Scrap Wood DIYS that Sell Like Crazy / Trash to Cash

Halloween Scrap Wood DIYS that Sell Like Crazy / Trash to Cash

hello YouTube friends and welcome to my,channel if you're new here my name is,Deidra from our upcycled life lots of,thrifting up cycling repurposing and DIY,content happening here and today's video,is all about my best-selling Halloween,DIY these are so simple to make and I,make them all with just scrap pieces of,wood that I get for free so we got lots,to do let's get started, okay so I'm gonna show you my best, selling Halloween DIY and these are so,incredibly easy to make and I do these, all on free wood that I find I have, friends that are home builders and I,have them save me the little cutoffs, from the wood you can also go to Home,Depot they have a section at the back, where they cut the wood where they put,the cut off ends that you can grab for, free or check out wood piles of people, that are going to burn them in their, wood stove pull out what you can use to,make these I've painted these with my,black homemade chalk paint and then I,took a pillar candle that I got from the, dollar store went all around the outside, edges and now I'm painting on top with, some homemade orange chalk paint let it,all dry and when I sand it it just, brings up that natural wood underneath, from where the candle wax was and we,have a really distressed piece of wood,we're gonna do our Mod Podge reverse, graphic transfer method I printed this, off on my LaserJet printer on regular, computer paper this graphic is available,in my Etsy store if you want to grab, them and you can make some of these for, yourself and this process will also work,on an inkjet printer so you don't need a,Cricut you don't need stencils you can,do this all at home on your computer and, make these really affordable the less, you have to pay for supplies the more, money in your pocket when you can sell, these items I understand not everybody, can find free wood but if you can and,you ask around you'd be surprised what, you can Round Up to turn into shelf, sitters or sign I let these sit for 24,hours dampen the paper rubbed off the, paper now sometimes on a darker color, you'll see the outline of the Mod Podge,a little bit you can always go back in,with that orange paint and blend it in,now I just went to my backyard I got, some twigs and I drilled a hole in the,top of these pieces of wood and I'm,going to put a little bit of wood glue,in there stick those little branches in,there so I looks like a stem from a,pumpkin now I'm going to add an,embellishment to the top I had some,Raffia and some yarn and some flannel, ribbon now the flannel ribbon here's a,little trick I went to the thrift store,I found a flannel shirt for a couple, dollars that had a stain on it so I,ripped it into strips I had hordes of,ribbon now that I can use on any of my,Halloween projects, now another project that you can do with, these scrap pieces of wood that sell, really well I am going to paint this, with my black homemade chalk paint, and I'm going to use some Vaseline, around the edge this time instead of the,wax this gives a really nice distressed, look also just put it anywhere where you, would want it to look naturally aged, and then I had some green acrylic paint, that I added right on top now it's,really important to take these extra, steps to make these pieces of wood look, authentic and different than just, painting them a solid color because this, will make them sell better and then I'm,adding a little bit more Vaseline again,I've put on some orange chalk paint that,I had and and then I put on some yellow, acrylic paint you can mix and match this, paint for this technique and it works, fabulous wiping off wherever there was,Vaseline and then I'm exposing those, colors underneath to give a really, chippy look, and we're going to turn this into a,shelf Center,I've taken this outside and I've really, aggressively sanded it with an 80 grit, sandpaper to finish it off now again,we're going to use that same process to,put graphics on this shelf sitter I've,printed this graphic off on my LaserJet,printer you can also use an inkjet and,we're going to put just a light coat of,mod podge matte completely over that, graphic and then put it on the block of,wood and let it sit overnight and then,we're going to take a damp rag the next, day just stamping it so you can just, start to see the letters show through, and then rub off the paper and then seal,it up with poly acrylic sealer and if,you don't have any poly acrylic sealer, you can also just seal it up with the,Mod Podge I'm going to add a little bit,of twine to the top and tie it in a nice, knot, another thing that I like to do is when,I'm at the thrift store and it's,summertime but I am finding fall and,Christmas theme embellishments I always, pick them up because they're probably, cheaper tuck them away so I can bring, them out during that season and use them,on my DIY projects and you can save a,little bit of money that way and we've,created a beautiful shelf sitter that, sells really well, now let's do another scrap wood,Halloween DIY that sells really well,we're going to do a different painting, technique on this one getting out our,Elmer school glue using Elmer's school, glue creates a really fantastic chippy, finish you're going to spread that all, over the piece of wood and don't let it,dry while it's still wet in long strokes, brush that paint over top of that glue, and as it dries you can use acrylic or,latex paint and as it dries it's going,to give you this fabulous crackle that I,think looks great for the Halloween, season again we're just going to add a,twig to the top of that you can also use,a dowel and seal it up with some poly, acrylic sealer now I think this needs a,little bit more of an embellishment and, that will also make them sell better, than just having a block of wood that's,painted added some ribbon and a little, burlap bow to the front and then I found, these little plaques at the dollar store, and I thought it would be fit perfect, perfect to finish off this little scrap, piece of wood painted it with some black, chalk paint some white chalk paint, distressed it a little bit and then I'm,also going to add a happy Halloween, graphic to the front of it using the Mod,Podge reverse graphic transfer method, again taking the time to add nice, embellishments and Graphics to these, projects definitely helps them sell, better and I think this turned out,Spooktacular and would look perfect on a,shelf for The Fall season, and here's another idea using scrap wood,to create Halloween decor that sells, really well painted this block of wood, with some black chalk paint and then, some white chalk paint now I picked up,these Halloween themed napkins at the, dollar store we're going to rip them, down to one ply and then we're going to,decoupage it onto that block of wood, applying the Mod Podge mat just in a,light coat and then we're going to lay, that napkin right on top of it and then, smooth it out making sure there's no,bubbles and no wrinkles and then we're,going to apply just a light coat of that,Mod Podge on top and then set it aside, and let it dry once it's dry I've taken,it outside giving it a really good, sanding and again we're going to add, that twig in the top because I think, that's an extra little step that makes, them sell so much better with a little, bit of glue add that twig to the top and,I'm going to paint this one with a,little bit of green acrylic paint add, some Raffia to the top and you created, another really cute shelf sitter that's,going to sell really well so all of,these signs that you're seeing right, here I have made for free other than a,little bit of a cost of the paint and,the embellishments and that means when, you sell them you can put more money in,your pocket and not to mention how, adorable they are so I hope this has, been a helpful video and you've got some, inspiration thanks for watching have a,great day and we'll see you in the next, video take care
