not two not three but we,are making four themed Halloween treats,and all of the treats that we're making,today are super easy and super delicious,I can't wait and a big thank you to grow,with Google started,okay the first treat that we're making,today we like to call halloweeno poppers,but they are mummy jalapeno poppers,they're delicious super easy and savory,in a large bowl we're gonna add some,shredded jack cheese a stick of cream,cheese You're Gonna Want it at room,temperature some chopped green onion,garlic powder little salt and pepper and,I'm going to be posting all of the,ingredients and their measurements in,the description down below so if you,want to follow along with me yeah then,using a spatula we're going to mix,together until well combined this is why,you want your Cream Cheese room,temperature look how easy this is mixing,together I would tell you a Halloween,joke,but it's too cheesy,The Filling is looking good looking,we get our little pet little peps ready,now this recipe you use about five to,seven Peppers but these are Big Peppers,so I'm just gonna be using five and what,we're gonna do is we're gonna cut them,in half take a pepper on top of a,cutting board and a sharp cutting knife,be careful don't get your fingers and,you're gonna cut it the long way I call,it hot dog all the way down then using a,spoon we're gonna scoop all of the seeds,and the inside of the pepper out into a,little bowl over here it's super spicy,unless you really want to scare someone,this holiday you can leave them in,boom like so then you're gonna do this,to the rest of your peppers once you've,scooped out all of your peppers I just,placed them onto a baking tray with a,piece of parchment paper we're gonna,fill them with our delicious filling to,do so very easy just gonna take a,spoonful and scoop it right on top and,press flat and you want it to fill to,the top to the line not really over we,don't want to overfill them because,we're going to put some cool stuff on,top nice and full but not overfilling,like that perfect now we're going to do,this to the rest of our Peppers peppers,are stuffed and now we're gonna roll out,our dough and we're gonna wrap them,around so they'll look like little,mummies so what I'm using is,refrigerated Crescent dough you can just,find this at the grocery store it's in,the refrigerated section this is the,stuff that's so easy to use I love it,it's pre-made and that's what Halloween,treats are about you want it to be fun,delicious and easy that's what I'm,talking about so let's get this popping,oh geez okay so you're supposed to give,it a tap and it's supposed to pop open,okay there we go oh that's what I'm,talking about so take a little bit of,flour I'm sprinkling on top of a cutting,board because we're going to be cutting,strips then you're just gonna let this,little sucker plop right out and these,pre-made doughs have little lines in,them so we're going to press them,together today their job is to make,Halloween treats and you know if you,don't want to that's okay because,what mummies look like they're really,old if you want them a little textured I,think that's okay once you've got your,dough rolled out and you've pinched the,seams together we're just gonna take a,pizza cutter or you can use a sharp,cutting knife just eyeball it we're,going to cut thin strips to wrap around,our cute little Peppers over here I'm,gonna try to get 20 strips so on this,halfway line I'm gonna try to get 10 on,this side and 10 on this side here goes,nothing they're about a quarter inch,thick and if they're a little bit,different in size and shape that's okay,because these are gonna be creepy little,mummies once you've got your strips of,dough cut you're gonna put two onto your,pepper you're gonna start at the top of,the pepper so I tried to think of this,this the forehead you're going to wrap,it around the top of the forehead and,you're going to leave just a little bit,of space for the eyeballs like I'm gonna,put two little eyeballs there and then,bring it to the center and now we're,gonna pick up a second strip and do it,again you can crisscross them,wrap them around you can really have fun,with it it's okay if it's a little messy,I think it makes it look cuter now,you're gonna do this to the rest of your,peppers our peppers are basically ready,to bake but before I pop these in the,oven I'm gonna cover them with a little,bit of egg wash if you've never made egg,wash before it's very easy it's just one,egg a little bit of water you mix,together and then with a little basting,or baking brush we're just gonna paint a,little bit on top of the dough of each,pepper helps the dough turn a nice,beautiful golden brown so just paint a,little bit of this on top of each pepper,now they're ready to bake You're Gonna,Pop these into the oven at 400 degrees,and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes,until they turn golden brown once your,peppers have baked and they're out of,the oven you're gonna do this while it's,still warm because you want your little,eyeballs to stick now this is the last,step the final decoration step we're,going to be adding two candy eyeballs,onto each pepper just like I've done,over here on the sheet I have a couple,more to do just got these at the store,any little candy eyeballs will do and,you're going to put them in that place,that we saved a little bit of room and,you want to do this while it's still,warm because you want the cream cheese,to stick to the candies and stay there,do that then they're ready to serve and,here are the mummy jalapeno poppers that,we made today they're super cute or as,we like to call them hashtag halloweenos,these are super adorable simple to make,and delicious in fact this one's not,even gonna make it to the dinner table,because it just fell on the floor or,something I don't know,oh my gosh it's so good you can't go,wrong with cheese bread and a little bit,of spice and when I say it's a little,bit of spice it is a little bit because,remember we hollowed out the center of,the pepper so it's really light it's,very mild I absolutely love these now on,to our next Halloween treat the next,recipe that we're going to be making are,these cheesy witch brooms the thing that,I like about this treat it is so easy to,make here's all the ingredients right,literally pretzels string cheese and,chives one of my favorite snacks is just,cheese and crackers and I think this is,a really fun twist so instead of cheesy,crackers it's cheese and pretzels so in,front of me we're going to start with,the string cheeses I want a cutting,board and as you can see now these are,the string cheeses that are two-tone the,two colors we got our mozzarella and a,little cheddar oh my gosh it matches my,outfit oh okay I didn't plan this but,literally these match my outfit I'm so,excited about oh my gosh I should have,literally done a photo shoot with this,string cheese now First Step here is,we're going to line up our little string,cheeses we're gonna make two cuts using,a big sharp cutting knife just be,careful don't get those fingers and,we're going to cut it into thirds there,we go one cut and two cut perfect now,we're gonna make some cuts into the,string cheese that will look like,bristles of a broomstick like so I'm,gonna be using a smaller knife to make,it a little bit easier so you're going,to take a string cheese and you're gonna,cut about halfway into it then you're,gonna do the same on the other side and,then so now you've got four sections and,you're going to cut each section in half,again you're just going to cut it a,little bit at an angle make those little,bristles this is going to help it stand,up almost looks like a little octopus,I've seen a little kids treat where they,did a little like little octopus cheeses,and that's kind of kind of the same idea,only we're gonna make broomsticks now,we're going to do this to the rest of,your string cheeses rest of your string,cheese yeah this is no now that we've,cut the cheese,we've got all of our cheesy brooms,and we're just gonna push it in the top,like this and only about halfway oopsie,because if you push it into,for your cheese is gonna split too far,oops so when you do this you'll just,have to have a little cheese and,crackers snack to yourself,all right let's try again round two,boom,beautiful look at that little broom so,once you've got your little pretzel,stick in there I'm gonna take a little,chive we're gonna tie a knot in the air,okay then we tie around I can do this,then we cut off the little excess and,there you go little witch's broom right,there now you're gonna do this to the,rest of your little cheesies and,there you have it cheesy witch brooms,it's a new take on cheese and crackers,it's pretzel and crackers and I really,love this treat because it's so easy to,make literally only three ingredients,you guys look how cute they are I love,them they remind me of little magic,brooms like they're standing up and,they're like sweeping on their own like,this,we've made some Savory treats now onto,some sweet treats the next spooky,Halloween treat that we're gonna be,making are these graveyard dirt cups,what can I say I like pudding I like,cookies and cream and this combines,everything I love into a little cup,little dessert size it's perfect for a,dessert for Halloween so we're gonna,start by making the pudding mix in a,large bowl we're gonna combine the,chocolate instant pudding mix and two,cups of milk then whisk together until,firm this usually takes about two,minutes so not very long at all you,don't even have to use an electric hand,mixer because it's not long and really I,like to get a little bit of a workout,when I'm having a dessert it makes me,feel like I've earned it I'm like whew I,did all this work I deserve a little,pudding cup with cookies in it,why does my laugh sound like a witch our,chocolate pudding is looking good now,the next step we're gonna make it a,little creamy a little fluffier we're,gonna add one and a half cups of whipped,topping we're going to fold it into our,chocolate pudding so we're just gonna,scoop it into here and if you've never,folded before let me show you how to do,it now you're going to take a big,spatula you're going to scoop underneath,all your pudding you're going to fold it,on top and then turn the bowl so it's,under over turn under over turn under,over turn and you just keep doing this,until it's evenly combined once mixed,together I put all of the chocolate,pudding into a Piping Bag just to make,things a little bit easier and this is,ready to go but I'm going to set it off,to the side this part is Bittersweet,we're going to take these cute little,chocolate cookies and we're going to,scrape out the filling now I love,cookies and cream this is a winning,combo forever but today we just want the,cookie not the cream I know some people,who twist them,and we'll do little games like they'll,say like who's gonna get it so we just,twist all of them apart oh these are,perfect because these are coming apart,perfect I'm not planning oh okay okay,there we go so all the ones with no,cream we're gonna place them into a,little bag over here and you just want,crushed cookies now you can scrape out,the cream oh the cookies and cream,you're breaking up the iconic Duo we're,just gonna put the cream in the bowl and,then put the other cookies in the bag oh,what I've got a little cookies there's,many different ways to make cookie,crumbs you can throw these in a blender,if you don't have a blender you can just,put them in a little baggie like this,take a rolling pin and crush them up,break them up into chunks we want fine,chunks if you're fancy you could use a,food processor that would be great I do,that with graham crackers too when I'm,making like edible sand but if you just,want to keep it simple this is fun also,stress relieving,we've got cookie crowns okay so here I,crushed about 30 cookies to get this,much now we're gonna assemble the,graveyard cups for dessert I have these,clear cups so that you can see the,beautiful layers so I'm going to scoop,about one and a half tablespoons crushed,cookie into the little clear cup and now,on the piping bags we have our chocolate,pudding I'm just going to cut little,hole at the end and we're just gonna do,this this makes it a lot easier I'm,telling you using a Piping Bag and if,you don't have a Piping Bag at home you,can use a sandwich bag and cut a little,right at the tip then another scoop and,then pudding and then Crush cookie look,at that this is like chocolate heaven,right here now you're gonna do this to,the rest of the cups the recipe makes 12,of these and then we're gonna add some,decoration our dirt cups are ready,they're beautiful they're layered and,now we're gonna work on the decorations,this is the fun part the part that I,really really love and in front of me I,got these delicious these are one of my,favorite cookies you can find these at,the grocery store basically a shortbread,cookie with a little bit of chocolate in,the middle and we're gonna make them,look like a tombstone so in a Piping Bag,a little bit of black icing and we're,gonna pipe our IP,Rosanna is Pansino,just kidding a rest in peace so we're,just gonna pipe at the top half of the,cookie I'm using a Piping Bag with a,metal tip for a little bit more control,just makes it easier we've got our,tombstones ready over here and I've got,all this spooky candy I found little,candy bones candy pumpkins candy worms,and we're gonna assemble it all to look,like a spooky graveyard then I'll hear,the graveyard dirt cups that we made,they're so cute if you love cookies and,cream you may love this treat for,Halloween I've seen my friends make a,big tray like make a big graveyard,display but what I really love about,this tree is that they're individual and,they're the perfect size for a little,dessert like after dinner we've worked,hard now we can have a treat here we go,let's take a taste,oh yeah look at those layers,oh my gosh it's so good this is better,than a chocolate mousse pie what I also,love about it so much easier to make now,on to our last recipe the last Halloween,treat that we're going to be making,coffin toaster pastries now this is a,treat that you could make in the morning,for Halloween the thing that I love,about these easy they're easier to make,in my opinion than scones one could say,that these are to die for,First Step we're going to roll out our,pastry dough it's basically pie crust,it's in the refrigerated or frozen,section wherever the cool section is I'm,going to put a little bit of flour on,the work surface in front of us so that,it doesn't stick usually it's pretty,good about not sticking but this is just,an extra precaution I don't want to mess,it up and you're just going to gently,roll it out I love this because it saves,a lot of time sometimes when I want to,make a homemade pie but I don't want to,make the dough I'll just pick these up,at the store next step we're going to,take a little cookie cutter I ordered,this coffin cookie cutter online and if,you don't have one of these you can just,use a sharp cutting knife and cut out,whatever design you want to do whatever,shape you'd like but I've got the cookie,cutter so I'm just gonna do and I'm,gonna cut out as many as I can we've got,all of our pastries cut out I put half,of them onto a baking sheet lined with a,piece of parchment paper and the other,half are over here because these are,going to be the bottom and these are,going to be the top because we're going,to sandwich them together next step,we're going to take a little bit of egg,wash if you've never made egg wash again,it's just an egg and a little bit of,water and a small painting brush we're,going to paint around the edges only,because that's where they're going to,stick together and I put the the least,good looking ones on the bottom because,no one will see them you want to save,your prettier ones for the top and if,you have any ones with like cracks in,them or imperfections you just put those,at the bottom they make a great tee and,then in a little Piping Bag over here I,have some jam now you want to use a red,Jam whatever one is your favorite you,can use strawberry jam or raspberry jam,you just want it to be a red Jam so it,looks like bloody so we want it to look,like a vampire is you know gonna pop out,of these coffins anytime you're gonna,pipe a layer of the jam gonna leave a,little space at the top and the bottom,just like so we're gonna take one of the,top pieces place it on top line it up,press together with your fingers and,then using a fork we're gonna crimp all,around the edges press down this is how,my mom used to make peanut butter,cookies,now we're gonna do this to the rest of,your pastries coffin toaster pastries,are assembled now we're going to add a,little decoration detail you're going to,take a little toothpick and poke two,holes for our vampire bite about here in,the middle is where I'm gonna be poking,two of the holes our little vampire is,gonna be trying to get out here and here,there's our little bites I'm gonna put,those little holes in all the pastries,just like so they're gonna do this to,the rest of your pastries now these are,ready to bake we're gonna pop these in,the oven at 350 degrees and bake for,about 20 to 25 minutes once your toaster,pastries have baked give them plenty of,time to cool and then we're gonna pipe a,little bit of icing on the top just like,this one we're gonna pipe a little,cobweb on the top because this is a,spooky coffin it's been sitting here for,a while there's a vampire inside we,don't know how old he is so don't open,the top he's probably very hungry like,me and then in a Piping Bag I have a,little bit of buttercream icing it's,just vanilla with a number two tip at,the end for a little bit more control,when we decorate and then we're just,gonna start in the corner I'm gonna pipe,four limes one two three,four and then we're gonna connect them,up down up down one in the middle and,one at the top then we're gonna have a,little spider come down here,and then we're gonna need a body of a,spider so it's a little bit bigger,you're just gonna put a lot of pressure,a little bit for the head then little,legs off to the side we want four on,each side,three,four then you're gonna do this to the,rest of your pastries and there you have,it coffin toaster pastries these are,homemade Halloween treats that I would,definitely have for breakfast look how,cute they are okay now I get to have a,bite,oh my gosh it's so good,um,yum oh right that does it for the video,here Halloween Themed What’s for Dinner| Easy & Budget Friendly Family Meal Ideas| October 2020
hey y'all in today's video i'm gonna be,sharing five halloween themed meal ideas,these are all gonna be pretty easy,nothing too crazy this was my daughter's,fall break week from school so since we,didn't have all that homework to do,i chose this time to be a little bit,extra and make my kids happy,so first up i am doing some stuffed,peppers and these are going to be like,little,jack-o'-lanterns so that's why i chose,orange peppers and not all of them would,stand up on their own so i did have to,kind of slice off the bottom on a few of,them,and it was no big deal nothing like fell,out the bottom like i thought it would,so yeah and then i just took the tops,off as you can see,and i took the seeds out and cleaned,those up you do want to reserve the tops,for later and then i am just going to,carve out these little faces,the best that i can,do,so that was a little bit time consuming,but nothing too bad,while i was carving those up i did have,a large pot of salted water,coming up to a boil and as you can see,i'm just tossing in those peppers as,well as the tops and i'm going to let,that cook for five minutes,and then i am going to drain it,parboiling it like this is going to keep,it from being crunchy in the end,but if you prefer that just simply skip,that step,so next i am browning up one pound of,ground beef,i'm going to add in a big spoonful of,minced garlic and then i'm just going to,season it basically the same way i,always do,so salt pepper onion and garlic powder,once that was fully cooked i drained off,the grease and then i added in,one can of petite diced tomatoes juice,and all,following with one and a quarter cup of,water,i'm also going to add in several dashes,of worcestershire sauce,i don't measure because if you overdo it,it's no big deal we love the flavor,i'm also adding in some italian,seasoning and half a cup of uncooked,long grain white rice and i'm just going,to,stir that in make sure it's fully,submerged in that liquid,i'm going to let that come up to a,simmer pop a lid on,turn it down a little bit and i'm going,to let that cook for about 20 to 25,minutes,here it is after that timer went off and,then i'm adding in a half a cup,of some spaghetti sauce i'm gonna let,that heat through for a couple of,minutes and it,is done so to a casserole dish i'm just,adding down a layer of spaghetti sauce,i'm going to give that a little swirl,make sure that the whole bottom is,fully covered and then i've added in my,peppers,and i'm just going to start stuffing,them with that meat and rice mixture,there was enough feeling to probably,fill about eight peppers but i knew that,would be way too much for my family,even with leftovers so i just kind of,wanted to show like what i had left over,this is a two cup measuring bowl so i'm,just going to throw that in my freezer,and use it,for another day on something else um,so i'm just placing my tops back on,those peppers,and then i'm going to put some tin full,on the top,and that's going to go in the oven at,350 degrees for,35 minutes and then once the 35 minutes,was,up i burnt my fingers off and remove,those tops,and then i am going to add some shredded,cheese,if you've been with me for a while you,know sharp cheddar is probably our,favorite,but of course you can use whichever type,of cheese you want,i think mozzarella would be really good,with these as well yeah once i've added,that,i put the tops back on and threw that in,the oven for an additional 10 minutes,and that was it i chose not to serve it,with anything because i figured this was,plenty enough and i was right these were,super filling,and my kids got a huge kick have the way,that these looked,they were delicious and of course if you,didn't want to make the face on them,um this is a good stuffed pepper recipe,that you could do with any color pepper,my kids loved the feeling they ate all,of it but unfortunately they would not,try the pepper which was kind of a,bummer because they weren't that cheap,but hey,we're trying over here up next i am,doing a jack skellington,chicken pot pie so i started by adding,four tablespoons of butter to my skillet,once that melted i added in one stalk of,some chopped celery,and i'm just going to let that cook in,the butter for a few minutes to start to,soften it up,and then i'm going to sprinkle in some,plain all-purpose flour,a third of a cup and i'm just taking my,silicone whisk,and combining that together this is of,course the roux and what's going to,thicken your sauce,and i did cook that down for at least,two minutes to really get that raw flour,taste out,and then i added in two cups of some low,sodium chicken broth,and just continued whisking to make sure,all the lumps were removed,and then i just added in a quarter cup,of some heavy whipping cream,once that was combined i seasoned,everything up i added a generous amount,of some black pepper,i also added in some poultry seasoning,now i am going to link the recipe down,below,in my description box but i will say to,not follow the recommendation for how,much poultry seasoning they used,because i have done that before and it,is just way too much way too,overpowering so i will definitely leave,a note down there as well and then for,the last two seasonings i'm just adding,in some lemon pepper,and then some garlic sea salt i will say,in the end the chicken pot,pie was lacking a little bit of salt and,which you know it's kind of fixable you,can add some salt to your dish of course,but,i just say it's important to taste as,you go sometimes i forget it happens but,yeah just try to remember to taste as,you go that way you'll be completely,satisfied with the end result,but i've just tossed in a frozen bag of,mixed veggies followed by a rotisserie,chicken that i have,shredded up and i am just going to toss,the chicken and the veggies in that,sauce now as you all know,i have nothing against cans of like,cream of chicken soup i use it all the,time in recipes,but when it comes to this chicken pot,pie that homemade sauce is what makes,this so great i'm telling you it's just,it's a game changer so now that that,filling is ready,i have pulled out the pie crust i really,love the great value pie crust that's,all that i've ever used,um it's a little bit cheaper than like,the pillsbury and,yeah i just i think it tastes really,great and another thing with that recipe,it does say to leave that out at room,temperature i disagree with that,um i think it's so much easier to unroll,and work with when it is cold,so that's another thing that i would say,to disregard but anyways i'm just,taking the back of my spoon and,spreading that out into an even layer,and then i have just took a small knife,and carved out that little,jack skeleton face then i'm just going,to drape that over the filling and,anything that's hanging over i'm just,going to kind of fold it under,and pinch that against the sides and now,of course you can do any design that you,want it to for this,i'm not the crafty type at all but that,was pretty easy i have to say,and then if you didn't want to do a,design at all that's completely,fine i normally don't but you do want to,make sure that you put a few slits on,the top that way that it can vent,and will cook properly but then lastly i,am just taking an egg wash i have one,beaten egg mixed with just a tiny amount,of water,and i am just brushing that all over the,surface and this is what's going to help,it get golden brown,and kind of give it that glossy finish,but that's going to go in my oven at 350,degrees for 45 minutes,anytime that i make a chicken pot pie i,almost always serve it with mashed,potatoes,so i just made up a batch of some garlic,red skin smashed potatoes,and i have just put those into a large,piping bag,and i'm just kind of doing these little,squiggly motions and it's supposed to,resemble a brain,i'm not sure that i pulled that off too,well but,it was definitely interesting looking,i'll give it that and my kids thought it,was funny so,yeah mom win i guess but yeah so here is,the finished product like how awesome,does that look and i swear,it was not difficult whatsoever and even,if you didn't want to make this like,halloween themed,regardless it is my go-to chicken pot,pie recipe that i've made several times,it's always a crowd pleaser i highly,recommend it,and yeah this was just such a yummy meal,up next i did a simple spaghetti dinner,and i chose this because i feel like the,majority of kids love spaghetti,and adults so you can't go wrong here so,i did some black noodles,the only thing i did different was i,just added some black food coloring to,that pasta water,and i just cooked it normal and then i,did a simple meat sauce just one pound,of 80 20 ground beef,seasoned the way i always do and i added,in this whole can of this hunt's pasta,sauce,we love this sauce as you know if you've,watched me for a while,and i just threw all of that in my,skillet and i let that simmer away while,my pasta was cooking,and it was a blacker in person this clip,didn't really show it but this next clip,kind of did it justice,uh so yeah here's the kids plates just a,servant of that pasta with some of the,meat sauce over it,and then here's mine and josh's plate we,just did a little caesar side salad,and as you can see we threw some little,gummy eyeballs on the plates it's just,some little,cupcake toppers that i found at walmart,and my kids love that this was probably,their favorite meal of the week,next i am doing some chicken quesadillas,so i just have a rotisserie chicken that,i have shredded up,and i am squeezing the juice of half of,a lime over it,and then seasoning it with some chili,powder and some,garlic powder and i'm just gonna simply,toss all that together to make sure that,every little piece of chicken is,seasoned perfectly meanwhile i have,buttered and toasted up a,tortilla and i'm just taking this little,ghost cookie cutter and,pressing that down in the middle and,that's how i got my design,and of course there are so many,different halloween like cookie cutters,that you could do for this,this would also be a really great lunch,idea because it's so quick and easy to,throw together,especially if you shred that chicken the,night before and i also think it'd be,really good to pack in a lunchbox,either for your kid who's going back to,school or your spouse,doesn't matter these are just so,delicious and then i have some rice on,the side,and then i found these super cute like,fall leaf tortilla chips at trader joe's,and i just whipped up a quick guacamole,and some sour cream to dip those in,and then for a little bit of real life i,made everyone else this cute,and for me i didn't do a design and i,just slapped it on a paper plate and,called it a day,but i did use some of this valentina hot,sauce and it was,perfect with this and then for the last,dinner idea i did a,pumpkin alfredo i found these cute,little pumpkin shaped pasta shells at,trader joe's,and then for the sauce it is just some,shredded parmesan cheese,some 100 pure pumpkin you'll need a cup,of that,a stick of butter some heavy whipping,cream and some garlic powder,salt and a pepper so i'm just going to,get all this cooked together,i honestly was not looking forward to,trying this pumpkin alfredo because it,didn't sound appetizing to me,but it was so good it just tasted like,regular alfredo sauce we couldn't even,tell that the pumpkin was in there,but it just adds a lot of nutrients to,something that is,rather fatty and it has a nice color to,it so like kids will more than likely,try it,i will say that with that pasta it was,like impossible to get it done,so it was slightly undercooked but i did,serve it with some,mummy garlic bread and all i did for,that was i just took some frozen garlic,bread,threw it on a cookie sheet and i took,one piece of string cheese,and just pulled it apart and threw it on,there like so,just repeated the process and then i,just took some sliced olives,and placed it on there for the eyes and,i just baked it,as normal the directions on the box and,then i just served it with some of these,um,steamed seasoned brussels sprouts that i,absolutely love those are so good,and then to top off the week we did end,up doing some chocolate covered pretzels,i just have these little halloween,sprinkles and some of these candy,eyeballs i found both of those at,walmart,these were originally meant to be like,mummy chocolate covered pretzels i could,have swore i had some white almond bark,on hand,but apparently i didn't so we just made,do with what we had and i'm just using,the regular,chocolate but the kids had a whole lot,of fun helping me with these and they,ate these up 5 Halloween Dinner Ideas | October 2021 👻
hey y'all in today's video i'm gonna be,sharing five halloween themed dinners i,had so much fun making these and my kids,got a huge kick out of everything so i,hope that you enjoy it so first up i,made some broccoli and cheese soup this,is one of my favorite recipes i have,made it so many times and my husband and,kids are not the biggest broccoli fans,but this is one recipe that they will,always eat it in,without complaining so yeah i start by,melting down four tablespoons of butter,and then i add in a quarter cup of just,some plain all-purpose flour after,cooking that down for a few minutes i,add in two cups of chicken broth and two,cups of half and half which is this,whole container and i'm just going to,stir that for a bit to make sure that,there's no lumps and just to get,everything nice and combined and then,i'm going to cover that and i'm going to,let it simmer for about 20 minutes that,will give it plenty of time to bring,everything up to temperature and also,for it to thicken up a little bit then i,can go ahead and add in my veggies i did,about three large carrots and i just,shredded it up with like a cheese grater,and then i did two crowns of broccoli,that i washed really well and i just,chopped it up into like little,bite-sized pieces i do like to double,the amount of broccoli than what the,original recipe calls for,because really it just cooks down to,nothing so why not but i like to add in,a little bit of onion powder and then,i'm going to cover it again and i let,mine cook anywhere from like 25 to 30,minutes just cook it to your lock-in and,i have to do it like super super tender,so that my family doesn't complain but,yeah so now i'm going to season it with,just some salt and black pepper i just,recently organized my spice cabinet and,i completely forgot about that pink salt,that i bought forever ago so that was a,nice little,change and yeah here is the key,ingredient to this soup some nutmeg i,just add a quarter of a teaspoon and it,makes a world of a difference,i absolutely love the flavor that gives,it works so well,and then i'm going to add in,two cups of sharp cheddar cheese you,could totally play around with like,different types of cheeses in this but,this is our favorite now this last step,is optional i don't ever do this but i,decided to grab some paprika to try and,deepen the color of this soup for what,i'm gonna do next and i think it did a,pretty good job you can see that color,change but yeah this soup is absolutely,amazing just year round and if you have,a larger family you'll definitely want,to double it this makes about five good,servings i'd say but now i'm gonna pop,some spider webs on top of the soup so,all you need for that is some sour cream,and a piping bag i just added some in,pushed it down and i'm just going to,snip off that end and get to work,oh,to go along with that i also made like a,jack-o'-lantern veggie tray so i have,some baby carrots,some mini cucumbers some mini sweet,peppers and some celery as well as this,ranch dip that we love i buy it at,walmart you'll need two small ramekins,and just a circle board how flippin,adorable is that i absolutely love the,combination of like cool and fresh raw,veggies to go along with a hot dinner it,just works so well i also just took some,frozen cheese and garlic bread and,cooked that up in the oven threw it on a,halloween tray with like these cheap,like rubbery spiders it's just something,that my kids are really into,but i love how everything turned out,this was so easy and realistic and i,would have never thought to put sour,cream with broccoli and cheese soup but,it works so well as well as the garlic,bread dipping it in it so good up next,we're gonna do some like crazy looking,deviled eggs as a side for dinner so i,pulled up four eggs and i just let that,sit in an ice bath for a few minutes,and then i'm just taking the back of my,spoon as you can see and i'm just,tapping it all around that shell,i don't normally break my eggs like this,but i'm purposely doing that to,create like a webbing effect so you want,to make sure that the shell is still,intact so don't hit it too hard,now i'm going to take some black food,coloring and i'm just going to add a few,drops to a bowl of water just some,regular cold water and you're just going,to drop your eggs in make sure that,they're fully submerged ideally you,would want to let this sit like,overnight but,i didn't plan ahead per usual so these,maybe lasted like an hour in the fridge,before i got started on them so,that was my bad i mean i knew better but,whatever but here i am cracking them and,these looked nothing like the pinterest,picture that i was going for but i'm not,mad about it you can still see like a,faint like webbing design,so now on to the yolk so i'm just taking,the back of my fork and getting that,broken apart and i keep my deviled eggs,really simple we're just doing some mayo,mustard salt and pepper and that's,literally it,so i'm just going to mix that together,until it's nice and smooth and then,you're going to want to grab you some,green food coloring or really any color,this was the kelly green and the wilton,and i just do that with like a,toothpicks and it's like a thick paste,and just keep on adding the food,coloring until you like it um so i ran,out of piping bags so i use like a,ziploc bag and i want you to look at,what happened,story of my life but,i just went with the flow cleaned up my,mess and,didn't get angry about it that's just,life nothing ever goes as planned and,it's okay but i still think they turned,out pretty darn cute so after i got,those popped in the last step is to take,some of these poppy seeds i recommend,dumping it out in your hand first and,just like kind of sprinkling it on each,one versus like just taking the whole,bottle and shaking it on but,that was it like i said i thought they,turned out pretty good um so i let those,sit in the fridge and i got started on,some cheeseburgers so i took like a two,and a quarter pound,pack of 80 20 ground beef and i just,patted it out using a meat press,um which,makes patting out burgers a breeze and,i'm gonna cook these up in my cast iron,skillet that i reseasoned just for this,purpose to make sure that nothing would,stick and i am putting those seasoned,side down and i'm using this mr steak,like super blend seasoning which is,basically just like salt pepper onion,and garlic powder and i'm sure some,other things that i don't know about but,i always like to cook my cheeseburgers,and worcestershire sauce i absolutely,love the flavor that that gives,cheeseburgers,and another reason that i love using,cast iron for cooking burgers is i love,that little bit of crust that it gives,it and i know it could have been better,if i waited a little bit longer but it's,okay i was really happy with how those,burgers turn out so now i am going to,carve some creepy little faces into some,cheese slices and the fake cheese with,like the plastic wrapper does work best,for this,it makes carving a whole lot easier if,you use like,the real cheese if you know what i'm,saying um so on pinterest all i could,find was like jack-o'-lantern faces and,i didn't really want to do that but i,came across this girl on tick-tock that,made some like really cool faces in her,cheese slices so i will definitely link,her video in my description box i want,to make sure she gets all the credit,definitely not my idea i just she really,inspired me so,i'm gonna go ahead and do like a,frankenstein face and then like a screen,face,the screen faces definitely were a lot,easier than the frankenstein ones but,even though this does take some patience,it is not hard to do at all and look at,how adorable this turned out i feel like,most people love cheeseburgers it's like,a classic and this is just such an easy,idea i know if i was a little girl about,to go out for trick or treat if i had,this before i went that is something,that i would never forget i think it's,pretty cool uh so yeah of course we have,the deviled eggs and my kids really like,these smiley fries that come frozen,boston doesn't like ketchup with his but,i just put some like ketchup splatter to,look like blood sorry if that's a little,gruesome for some of y'all but don't,think too much into it it's just all in,halloween fun,but yeah here is my plate this was,definitely a 10 out of 10. i came across,this skull pan at kroger of all places,and i'm so happy to have it in my,collection now because you know you can,do so many different things with it they,do make scarier skeleton ones i know you,can get them on amazon and i would like,to eventually have it this is more of,like a,nicer skeleton face i guess that's how,you put it but i'm going to spray that,with some non-stick cooking spray and,set that to the side we're going to be,doing some pizza skulls if you haven't,realized that yet so i've got a can of,like pillsbury pizza crust and i'm just,going to get that spread out and,i'm going to like thin it out with my,rolling pin the best that i could i'm,going in with my pizza cutter and i'm,just slicing that into six strips and,this part was a bit of a pain i'm not,gonna lie to you because you're working,with these like thin strips and trying,to make it fit into this pan but again,just you gotta have some patience and,just get in there the best that you can,and i'm just gonna take some simple,toppings i'm doing some mozzarella,cheese a couple tablespoons of pizza,sauce which by the way this chef,boyardee one is our absolute favorite i,don't know if it's like a nostalgia type,thing like from my childhood but it's,the best in my opinion so i just use,some turkey pepperoni and then a another,layer of cheese obviously you can do,whatever pizza toppings you like we like,it really simple um i do like green,peppers on mine but i didn't want to cut,one up just for my one you know but yeah,so i'm just going to repeat that and,just kind of pinch everything together,like i said kind of smoosh it in there,the best that you can and you're just,going to pop that in the oven at 375,degrees for about 18 to 20 minutes and,it's gonna look like a hot mess when you,pull it out but don't you worry just let,it sit there for a couple of minutes so,that that cheese can kind of harden up,and then go in with like a rubber,spatula and just kind of fold it onto,that pizza crust and it is all going to,work out all is good as you can see,these popped out of the pan super easily,that first one had me a little worried,that they weren't going to turn out that,good but all in all i think they turned,out pretty good and i am going to cut,into one at the end of this clip so,don't you worry just give me a second,but to go along with that i picked up,one of these caesar salad kits i much,prefer like the market side brand over,the doll but it served his purpose so,for that salad we're gonna make some,ghost croutons and i will of course link,this cookie cutter that actually came in,a set of other halloween like characters,um in my description box if you're,interested i did expect these to be like,a little bit smaller so that you could,do like you know several croutons but,it's okay,i'm just taking some regular white bread,and i could get two ghost croutons out,of one piece of bread so that's what it,looks like you're going to want to,create some eyes so i'm taking a straw,and i'm just kind of pushing it down in,there and twisting it i did have to go,in with a,another straw that came off of like a,mcdonald's juice box to kind of,poke the eyes out or you could do a,toothpick but that was that i just,placed it on a like silicone matte lined,baking sheet i sprayed it with some,olive oil spray and then i'm just going,to season these up a little bit with,some garlic salt these are gonna bake in,the oven at 290 degrees anywhere from,eight to ten minutes so while those were,in the oven i went ahead and got started,on some cheese letters so again i will,be sure to,link these in the description box it,came with the whole alphabet,and,um here i'm using some real cheese,because i figured that might work better,for this particular purpose maybe i'm,wrong,these cut really easily but,it was a pain and a half to get these,out of the actual cutters themselves,i had to use a toothpick but i got it,done as you can see like the edges are,super like,distressed,but i'm just glad that there is only,four of us so,otherwise i would have been standing,there all day it was it was a pain i,don't know how people do it but it,turned out cute so here is my plate i,have a side of the pizza sauce to dip it,in and look at how cute i cannot get,over that,again not my idea i will link the,original like creator in the description,box but here's the kids plates they're,not big into salad yet but i keep on,trying but i did leave like the ghost,croutons and like the boo whatever um on,the side so they would eat it since i,put so much work into it and i just gave,them some halloween like gogurts um so,as promised here i am like tearing it in,half,how yummy does that look um and i swear,that chef boyardee sauce is the reason,that these were so good i'm telling you,next i am whipping up one of our,favorite casseroles so i start that by,melting down one tablespoon of butter,then i'm going to finish off that bottle,of olive oil but you need a tablespoon,then i'm going to dump in one and a,quarter cup of long grain white rice,that i've washed really well i do that,with my fine mesh strainer i found,that's the easiest way for me anyways,and then i'm dumping in two and a half,cups of chicken broth that i'm gonna,season with some onion powder if you,like real onion you could of course like,saute that in with the butter and olive,oil,once that started to boil i've added in,my broccoli i've washed and cut it and,again i used two crowns i'm going to,turn that heat down a little bit cover,it with a lid and i'm going to let that,cook for 15 minutes then i am going to,cut the heat off leave the lid on don't,stir it or anything and let that sit,still for 10 minutes before you go in to,fluff it up honestly this right here,just by itself would be an amazing side,dish to like literally anything it's,really good,just like this but of course we're gonna,jazz it up so i'm gonna add in about two,to two and a half cups of some diced ham,i just used a ham steak then i'm gonna,add in one can of cream of chicken soup,a half a cup of sour cream,and then three quarters of a cup of milk,and i like to use two percent in most,recipes,now i'm gonna add in about a cup of,shredded cheese again sharp cheddar like,usual,and then i'm gonna just season this up,with some salt and pepper so i'm just,gonna get all that mixed together and it,should look something like this so i'm,gonna pull out my 9 by 13 casserole dish,and i'm going to spray it with my,vegetable spray and i'm just going to,get all of that dumped on in there then,i'm going to take the back of my spatula,and just spread that out into an even,layer the best that you can and then i'm,going to add on that final cup of the,shredded cheese and just kind of,distribute that all over the place and i,forgot to show it but you do need to,cover it with full and bake it at 350,for 15 minutes,so these garlic butter rich crackers are,superior they're one of our favorite,things and we keep it on hand at all,times i did crush up one sleeve in this,ziploc bag,i like to kind of roll over the top so,that it will stand up and i'm adding in,two tablespoons of melted butter so be,sure to seal that up and just give it a,really good shake to get that butter,like evenly distributed,then here is what that casserole looked,like after the 15 minutes i'm just gonna,pour on that buttery garlic like ritz,topping and then here's where the,halloween theme comes in i've got these,like oval shaped crackers and i am just,going to insert it in here to make it,look like a graveyard,this is going to go back in the oven,uncovered for a final 10 minutes just to,get everything kind of like nice and,toasty and a little golden brown so here,is the finished product again i hope,this isn't like disrespectful towards,anyone um but you know like halloween,and tombstones kind of go hand in hand,and this is definitely like the lowest,effort one but um it's effective and it,is super good y'all if you have not,tried this before and this is one of,those dishes too that like the leftovers,are actually like just as amazing this,makes so much so we definitely ate on,this for a few days but yeah whether you,do the oval crackers coming out of the,top or not this is a great recipe,to keep on hand just year round,and now we are on to the last dinner,idea so we're doing some barbecue,chicken legs so i have about six in this,bowl and i've just drizzled it with some,olive oil and i'm gonna season mine with,this grind staff all-purpose rub but you,can use whatever your favorite barbecue,rub is so i'm just gonna get everything,tossed around and nice and coated so to,my instant pot i'm going to add in one,cup of water and i'm going to place my,trivet in i'm going to place the chicken,legs like meaty side down and the leg,part is just going to like stand up on,the sides of the pot so i'm going to add,my lid make sure your valve is set to,sealing and for my instant pot i just,have to hit the manual button and i'm,going to let that cook for 18 minutes,i'm gonna let it natural release for,five minutes and then i will finish it,off to let all the pressure release,before you open that lid these are going,to be fall off the bone tender um but,that just makes it look even more gory,which just fits the theme at least,that's what i'm saying but now you are,going to want to grab your favorite,barbecue sauce mine is sweet baby ray,drizzle on as little or as much as you,want and just kind of dab it around with,your silicone brush that's going to go,underneath the roller for about five,minutes to let everything caramelize and,get crispy and these are super delicious,let's go along with it i got some of,this black and white bow tie pasta i had,to order this online amazon was sold out,but i ordered it from,yummybazaar.com i think that's how you'd,say it um but it came packaged really,well and nothing was broken so i was,happy and i'm just going to pair it with,some of this green pesto which i've been,loving lately it was self-explanatory so,i didn't show it but of course i pulled,up the pasta and i heated up the sauce,and then i just sprinkled on some,freshly grated parmesan cheese so,definitely going for those beetlejuice,vibes and i'm sure someone out there is,thinking who in the world pairs barbecue,chicken with pesto pasta well i do and,we really liked it so to wrap up this,video i'm going to insert this girl's,night clip i just made some chocolate,covered pretzels but a couple of my,friends brought over these really cute,boards so i had to show them off I Tested The Most Viral Pinterest Halloween Recipes
- My name's Ashley and today, I'm gonna test some,of the most pinned Halloween foods from Pinterest.,Every year, Pintrest rounds up their top most viral pins,for the Halloween season, and I picked three,of those food items that I'm gonna make today,,to see if it's really worth it.,Do they look really cute?,Do they taste really good?,And are they practical to make?,Now, I am not a chef by any means.,I am pretty far from it, but I am an avid Pinner.,They claim to be that anybody can make these,,and you can totally make them and bring them,to your next party.,I'm gonna see if that's true. (laughs),(mystical chimes),The first recipe that I'm doing are these Pizza Skulls.,You know pizza rolls that you make in the microwave?,Imagine a really big version of that,and it is shaped like a skull.,Let's do it!,First step is to unroll the pizza dough,and press into a five by 10 inch rectangle,,and cut into six strips.,That's not a rectangle.,Oh my gosh, what was when all the continents,were put together?,Pangaea!,That's kinda what this looks like.,Okay, there we go.,That's what I'm talkin' about.,I'm using the word rectangle loosely, here,,because this is a little blobby,,but it's pretty much a rectangle.,And now we're gonna cut it into six strips.,I was a little skimpy with this last piece of dough.,My rationing was a little off.,I'm skeptical about the amount of dough it tells you to use,,because right now, these strips are pretty thin.,This is actually a very easy recipe.,It's basically just making pizza,in this glorified muffin tin.,There we go, that's what I'm talkin' about.,Now we're gonna fill our Pizza Skulls.,Sprinkle with a little cheese.,Define "a little cheese", though, you know?,A little cheese to me is probably a lotta cheese,to somebody else.,I'm gonna do half of the skulls with meat,,and half of them without meat.,Now, I'm just gonna fill up the rest of the,skulls with cheese.,I'm definitely noting which one is the cheesiest,,and saving it for myself.,Now I'm gonna put it in the oven at 375,,for about 20 minutes.,The skulls have just come out of the oven.,The dough looks tasty.,They don't look like anything from the back side,,so I have to take them out of the mold to see,if it actually looks like a skull.,(drum rolling),Wow!,You can't see this, but everyone around me is like (gasp)!,- Those look amazing!,- Thank you!,- Will you try my skull pizza?,- Okay, sure.,- This is really cute.,- I would be impressed already by the look of it.,- Whoo!,- Mmmm!,- I like it.,It's hot!,- Pizza rolls on hydraulics for Halloween.,This is dope.,- I did notice that the ones with meat in them,are much greasier, and they're a little bit messier,,and the skull doesn't look as clean.,So if I did this again, I would probably do just cheese,and sauce, because these look really neat and crisp.,Obviously, this goes without saying,,but the Skull Pizza is definitely Pin-able.,(mystical chimes),Now onto recipe number two.,This is Chicken Boo-dle Soup, haha.,I made bow-tie pasta because it's supposed to,look like a little bats.,The next step is to dye the pasta black,,and we're gonna do that by putting all this pasta,in a big Ziploc baggy with a lot of black food coloring,,and then shaking it around.,There we go.,Now I'm gonna cut the vegetables into cute little shapes.,Cut two shallow lines about 1/4 inch,apart from each other.,(disk scratching),Whoa, okay this blog goes from peeling and chopping,Bam!,It's a pumpkin.,There are a few visuals that are missing from this.,Two shallow lines.,Okay, I think I'm getting it.,Uh...,It's not easy like at all.,So I've kinda got the grooves that should create the stem.,Hopefully, pumpkins will emerge from this but I don't know.,I'll believe it when I see it, you know what I'm saying?,(gasp) No, that's so cute.,Oh my god.,Very excited about this.,That shit is cute.,And then next, I'm gonna cut the celery,,and I don't really actually need to do anything,,'cause when you chop up celery, it looks like a little moon.,Celery is not really looking like moon.,At all. (laughs),(energetic music),- There is a lot going on.,- Oh, they're like little pumpkins here.,Did you cut them?,- I love the black noodles.,- I'm scared of the noodles.,- It's odd.,- The look is cooler than the taste.,- This way, it looks like a mushroom.,When you look at it this way, it looked like a pumpkin.,- Chicken Boo-dle Soup is Pin-able.,(mystical chimes),Now, we're onto third and last recipe,,and those are some deviled eggs that are meant,to look like little alien eggs.,Gently crack the hard-boiled eggs with a knife,,or by rolling them on the counter.,I'm gonna try the counter method first. (gasp),(laughing),I was like, "These are never gonna crack!",So now we only have five eggs.,I'm afraid I'm gonna put my thumb right through,this whole egg.,I don't know what to do.,Okay, I'm gonna try the knife method.,(tapping),Oh, this works, okay.,Looking like little dragon eggs.,So we boiled our eggs, we cracked our eggs,,and now we're gonna color the eggs.,(energetic music),Now it's time to peel these eggs and see if,all of our hard work paid off,,and if this really cool pattern is on there.,Wow, that is so cool.,I'm very happy about this.,Now, basically I'm just gonna make deviled eggs.,(energetic music),- Deviled Alien Eggs?,I love it.,- These are so pretty.,- How'd you get that pattern?,- That is really good.,- This would be a crowd pleaser.,- Very in-theme, but also tastes great.,I would totally eat this at a Halloween party.,I'm really happy about it.,The Deviled Alien Eggs are definitely Pin-able.,I have been on Pinterest long enough to know,that there is some Pinterest BS bein' pinned around there.,But these totally work.,They were super fun to make, they tasted really good,,and they look even cooler.,What more can you really ask of a Halloween recipe?
