48 Fundraising Ideas in Under 8 Minutes

This is 48 fundraising ideas to get your brain going on a whole bunch of different topics.,Good luck! We're gonna go through this quickly.,This is 48 fundraising ideas to get your mind thinking on how to raise money for your organization.,Don't worry, there's also a link to a bunch of extra resources you can find, that go along with this video but we're gonna go pretty quick so maybe put it in slow motion?,Starting off with athletic ideas: golf for good tournaments.,So get the companies involved, have people come out to the course.,Next up running for a cause. I love this!,5ks, marathons, there's easy ways of organizing this: start small,so you can build a base together...same thing for bike for a cause, you know.,5 mile loop, map it out, get people year over year involved, you're challenging them.,Lawn sport Olympics! This is just a funny way of getting a bunch of people, maybe sponsor teams to take part winner-take-all championship and like a,cornhole game or bocce what-have-you. Relays and challenges are fantastic.,Look, you do walk-a-thons, dance-a-thons, pledge per mile if you're walking around,a track and definitely again engaging that community, building a list of people, that you can then go back out to again the next year so you're really hopefully, getting local champions involved. Any sort of challenges that you're doing you,can always add a little extra so let's say if one team wins you can "embarrass, the boss" or principal with like a dunk tank, or tape them to the wall, or you can, have donate to vote for the type of "punishment" -- colorfully -- that you're giving, the person, or boss, or leader. You can do any sort of cause marketing with, these campaigns with a company pulling in the campaign aligning with their, cause and passion. You can partner with a local restaurant and do sort of pay for, water donation or a percent tip on top of tip for a local cause they care about:,works particularly well, I'd say, with local causes aligned with that.,Okay, next topic, drives. These are things where we're raising in a,cluster, in a group. Workplace giving is a big one, where you're in the workplace, you can work with charities.org to do this in order to get part of,people's donations out of their paychecks to be given to you and agree,to a drive. You can do a penny drive -- classic -- toss in a penny, collect a lot of,them then you have a lot of money. Box tops for good! General Mills actually, donates based on the number of box tops raised so this is particularly good for,public-leaning schools who are doing this. You can do a shoe drive! And use funds2orgs.com,in order to turn those shoes into dollars -- same thing with e-waste!,Ink cartridges and old cell phones. There's ways of also finding sites where, once you've collected a bunch you can then go about turning that into a donation to your organization.,Next, events! And this is a giant one. This is classically what we think of,you know, what we jokingly call the classic rubber chicken, right? You're giving out, speakers and awards and performances and getting people in there and sponsoring it, sure.,Other fun things to think about are like, poker or casino night events. So these are pieces where you can come in, obviously, not for winner-take-all money but you can have other awards. You can have a young, professionals bar event or a Sunday Funday where it's an excuse to get, dressed up and drink mimosas. Wine taste test fundraising, so a "guess the wine",challenge and you can do any sort of things: okay the challenge and seeing who,can tell their Pinots from Pinotages. Be the bartender events --,sell the chance to be a bartender! You wouldn't believe how people would love,to be behind the bar. Shout out to Sue Bilotta and the team Fox group that does that --,Tips for Parkinson's is amazing, if you haven't ever heard of them go and, check them out. Trivia events -- a bar or event space, charge per team, create a fun, reward system, get your local bar involved, boom. Food tasting event -- so sell, tickets include voting challenges to spice it up, like a taste of the Lower East,Side type of thing, and local vendors kind of come in and it's a win-win,ideally for both the cause and the local companies. A dog show or cat show... come on,get everybody's cute cats and puppies together, march them down the avenue,,and see who's gonna support it. Art show by famous both internal or external artists, demonstrate art on the walls so, obviously, profits go for the cause.,Grow for good! So obviously mustaches we can grow in Movember but there's other, things you can grow -- your hair out, or your nails out -- this is a weird one, but, there's something there potentially. Auctions: so you can do a "guess the, amount" of a seasonal relevant thing in a jug. So, put a bunch of candy corn in, or,put a bunch of jelly beans in, see how many people get closest, take money, for each one of those guesses, and boom, there you go. Silent auction, classic.,So you can do any sort of silent auction event,in conjunction with an event so people writing in there. 50/50 raffle: you buy a chance,to win the overall money, and half of it goes to the cause. So if I gave you a dollar, fifty cents to the cause, fifty cents to the inevitable winner. You buy tickets and then, you have these little chances to win and then you can put those in different, events. That works for a lower tier prize packages, if no single person can, necessarily afford to bid, you know, a thousand dollars, but they can buy a hundred, dollars of tickets, they can put those tickets in those things. Live auction,,catered dinners, or a bachelor/bachelorette: dates, cars, all those things, can be auctioned. You can also do online auctions with high value celebrity experiences.,Charity.ebay.com or Charitybuzz are fantastic at managing all of those pieces,,we love those guys. A duck or a floaty thing race, so, pick a small body,of water, label all the ducks -- so I have duck number 101 --,dump it in with a thousand ducks, see which duck wins in the end, and obviously money, goes to charity. Karaoke night: book the venue, and then charge for songs or,spotlight moments, obviously for drinks, and partner in with that -- people love, their karaoke. Polar Bear Plunge into a cold body of water! Sell tickets.,Sell sponsorship. Write on people, bring towels, sponsor teams -- have fun with it!,Turn your Polar Bear Plunge into a cause. Cupcake or chili wars. Have judges.,Make the public judge, or charge tickets for votes for the best cupcake and,see who wins. Have a dog or car wash -- maybe not at the same time.,Online. All right more ideas when you go online. You can actually have supporters use tools, like goodsearch.org, and they send a portion of proceeds to your organization:,these are very very small margins. Same thing with the affiliate, advertising and the Amazon Smile program. Register your organization with Amazon, and then when people shop, you get a very small percent of their action to your cause.,Online sponsored real estate: a page, like, so that "million dollar website",,you can have people pay for messages on your site,,sort of a donor wall. You can have a sponsored brick or wall, and real estate,in your physical location, sell that online, saying, "Hey, we're making our new office,,sponsor a brick or stamp on our site." Grocery or gift wrapping at a,local store for open donations, right? You're sitting there, "Hey, would you mind if I,gift wrap your eggs for a cause?" Probably works better with presents.,You can do the Combined Federal Campaign for large nonprofits to get into federal, donation systems: check out charities.org for that. You can do peer-to-peer fundraising.,So you can source a recipe book with a theme, and sell the sponsorship, and sell,,then, the book. So all the people that also did it as well. You can do odd sort of,challenges with a fundraiser, peer-to-peer. If X dollars is raised,,someone will volunteer to do something odd and post it. You can do a birthday,,a wedding, or a shower gift for good. There's tons of sites that allow people to ask,,instead of gifts, send donations to a certain organization. We can do a,haunted house or a trick-or-treat give, so the Unicef style of giving people boxes to,run around and fundraise on your behalf during those events -- that correspond, obviously with the holiday, cuz Halloween in December doesn't make much sense.,You can sell a thing! So, branded food model. Certainly the Girl Scout model works, very well, getting those cookies out there and sold. Coffee, bake sale, coffee, and bake sale on high traffic days around, for example, the election is very, very common. You can sell branded materials: so obviously you can put your, logo on just about anything. I mean, heck, you could do pet rocks for the environment.,Why not? Be creative! You can do a cause- or a town-opoly: customize a Monopoly set,,or any sort of game, and then compare that with a game night fundraiser.,All right, whoo! 48 ideas. Hope something rang a bell.,Again, check out our resources on our site, where you can find some more links.,Hopefully that was helpful!

Top 5 School Fundraising Ideas

Top 5 School Fundraising Ideas

School fundraising can include selling cookie dough, candy and even candles but,,thankfully we've come a long way. There are a lot of easy and fun ways to raise, money for your school to help support those extracurricular and fun activities, you want to allow your students to do.,Hi, I'm Kristy with Funds2Orgs and I'm Eric, Hello, nice to meet you,and today we're talking about the top five favorite school fundraising ideas.,It's 2019 and it's time to engage your supporters in a new fundraiser and an,exciting fundraising ways. So here are the top five fundraising ideas that are,fun and engaging for your youth group, PTA, PTO or school. Number five, mobile, giving fundraising. In this digital age, everyone carries a cell phone from, students to teachers to parents, and his is right there. Right there. But mobile, giving is a straightforward way to raise money and it's very convenient to do.,There's a few main ways to do mobile giving. The first is a Facebook, fundraiser for your sports team, group or club. You can also do a text-to-give,campaign, that is a very popular one, and lastly, you can set up a donation page.,Number three, you can set up a donation page for your school group or club or PTA or PTO and, then promote it at every event that you do. whether it is a sporting event like a,Friday night game, whether it's a play or musical or even a homecoming dance.,Number four, an obstacle course. If you guys are familiar with anything like a,mud run or if ever watch TVs American Ninja, you know what an obstacle course,is it's not very hard to describe. Basically you get an auditorium or,somewhere outside that's near your school and set up an obstacle course. You,can do fun things like ramps you can do ropes you can do a mud climb and then, you charge people to participate. You can have everyone from parents, school, administrators, teachers or even students participate by simply paying a little, charge that goes straight to a Donation. A really good idea to is you,can also stream this on Twitch and their IRL page. I bet you a lot of people would, pay to watch teachers go throw a mud run. Number three, spring or fall festivals.,Now this is an oldie but goodie. This is a great way to get your school, your, families and your community all together and have different events such as,,raffles, rides, games and even craft fairs. Yep, depending on how large your festival,is you can even have things like a car show, which can help raise money, the, owners of the cars participate by making a small registration fee to show off, their car, or hayrides, especially around like Halloween you do a haunted hayride.,Number two, peer-to-peer fundraising. This,is almost the same kind of idea is the mobile platform fundraising, but you get, everyone at your school involved. Have them set up Facebook pages or donation, pages and ask their local community, their friends, their family ,their, neighbors and anyone they've ever met to donate to your cause. This helps out, because you get more people and you get the entire community involved. Peer-to-peer,fundraising is also great to engage your local business community. Basically, you, tell them about your upcoming fundraisers and if they can't do a,matching gift campaign maybe they can advertise your fundraiser to their, clients and their supporters. And then you get more peers doing the,peer-to-peer stuff. And number one, our best most fun and amazing fundraising, idea, is my favorite, her favorite, the shoe-drive fundraiser with Funds2Orgs. A shoe drive fundraiser,is perfect for schools, PTOs and booster clubs. The reason being, is it,engages the students and It's kid-friendly. The way it works is you, engage your community by collecting gently worn, used and new shoes. So, instead,of trying to get people to buy something, you just ask them to clean out their, closets. And we have all your promotional materials and marketing materials and, items down below on that link. Click if you're interested in doing a shoe drive, fundraiser. We'll give you everything you need to get started for free. once you collect the shoes, Funs2Orgs will cut you a check, based on the weight of your shoes by the pound. Once we've collected the shoes,,Funds2Orgs sends them off to our micro-enterprise partners in developing, nations to help their local communities. So, not only does you collecting shoes, help you out it also helps the world out in general. It's a win-win.,it's a win-win. School fundraising no no no, not school fundraising, not again. To do it in fun and engaging ways/He should go back to school. I,was in school very shortly ago. Finally oh my god it took like 42 times

10th Lakehouse Halloween Fundraiser Moved

10th Lakehouse Halloween Fundraiser Moved

hi everyone I wanted to do a video, message because doing a post would take, too long as many of you know I have done,a halloween party at the washington park, lake house for at least the past six, years it's been a great party and a good, time and I've enjoyed doing it and it's,a lot of work but at the end it's always,a great reward to see everybody having a,good time this party was started by my,good friend matt baume gardener who owns, bombers and wolff's biergarten back in,his his house on state street and then, moved to the lake house and then a year, later Matt asked me to be involved with,it and I decided to do it the one thing, that Matt and I did when we had the, party was any of the profit after all,the expenses would paid we donated to a,charity at that time it was the Lark,Street big three years of Matt and I,doing it and donating the money to the, large tree bid Matt decided he did not, want to be involved in a party because,it was his birthday weekend and he just, thought he would rather just do other, things so I continued to party which I,have been doing for the past five years, for the first two years I donated the, money again to the Lark Street big but, then for two years I donated the money,to the barn which is a great housing, project for artists here in Albany last, year I went back to the bed because of a,relationship I have one of the board, members and said you know what I'd like,to donate it the prop it back to the to,the large Street pit I want to make it,clear that this is my fundraiser this is,an event that I do that I put a lot of,work in I put my heart into it it's not, only so people can have fun but it's an,opportunity to raise some money to,donate to a non-profit or to a charity,my full intention this year was again to,work with the large street bid we had a,great party last year I thought it was a,good arrangement for us to throw the, party and to use the large tree bid as,the organization we donate the money the, largest rebid got the permission to use,the facility they donated volunteers and, they got the insurance because I felt, like if we were going to do a donation,it'd be good for them to be involved in,that capacity the party went fine, everybody did their job and as many you, know is Agri nother great party my,intention was to do the party again this, year and to use the large tree bit but I,found out the other day that the large, tree bids board decided that they for, some reason think that it's there, party I want to make something very, clear this party was started by Matt,Baumgartner that is a fact this is not, theirs they went behind my back to the, city and secured Halloween night without, even asking me without even coming to me,and seeing if I was willing to not only,do it this year again which I was but to,see if I wanted to do it on Halloween, this is the facts when I called up to,the large street that and spoke to one,of their board members they told me that,it was their understanding that it was a,mutual partnership that they were just I,was the one that was getting the beer, and hiring the bartenders and that they, felt they had every right to do this, party that is not the case they never, reached out to me they asked somebody, who is a third party to reach out to me,and he admitted to me today that he,called me once never left a message and, never tried to contact me again that is,the facts we will have this party will, find a new location and we will make it,a great party and it will be on,Halloween night but I want to make, something clear to everybody the lake, house party that the large street bid is,looking to do is not my party has, nothing to do with me has no affiliation,to me my party this year the any profits, will go to the Pearl Street bit the,Pearl Street Band has been a great, supporter of the downtown businesses and, that money will be will be earmarked, explicitly for poor palooza I feel like, everybody knows that when somebody takes, something for you you want to fight for,it this is something I will fight for,and this is something i will make that, and something that i will make great for, everybody and I will not let anybody, bully me and take something that is mine, having said all that I know I sound like,a politician right now and I'm filming a,commercial but i really wanted everybody,to understand what's going on the party,is on the party will go on and i will, let everybody know within a week where, the location is going to be and please, pass it on and i would ask everyone, everyone to please pass on the word that, the Lark Street bid board the board has, made an error has made an error not only,in judgment but a professional era and,not contacted me and taking something, that is not theirs,I'll see you all you guys on Halloween,I'm looking forward to it this is going,to be a great party we're gonna get a,bigger space and we're gonna get more, people involved and it's gonna be a lot,of fun see you then

21 FALL FUNDRAISING EVENT IDEAS

21 FALL FUNDRAISING EVENT IDEAS

- Hello!,Joy Olson, BlockBuster Fundraising.,It's going to be fall in a few minutes.,Can you believe it?,And fall can be such a wonderful time, for get-togethers, some fundraising get-togethers.,Recently I was reading a blog,by Ellie Burke of Classy and she presented,21 different fall fundraising ideas, and I think we should go over them, right this very minute because, one or two or three of these, might be perfect for your organization.,Ellie points out that fall,is the time for getting together.,People really enjoy it whether you're,around a fire, at dinner table,,or even a football field.,Fall has a way of just bringing everyone, together again after the summer.,So, with so many popular autumn activities, this season is a perfect time, for your organization to host a fall fundraiser.,Get your creative juices flowing now, with some of Ellie's great,21 fall fundraising ideas.,Number one on the list harvest dinner.,Organize a dinner featuring local chefs and businesses.,For example, serve a sample of beverages, from a local brewery, it's so popular right now.,Or liven things up with a local musician.,Combine the two.,Sell tickets for a seat at the table, and attract sponsors, of course,,by offering to promote their brand,on all of your event paraphernalia, and, of course, on your donation, and registration pages.,They give a great example to go,,to see somebody that, a foundation, that's doing this very well,,the Emilio Nares Foundation.,I'll give you a link.,Ellie says they do a great job,of promoting these perks to potential sponsors,on their Harvest for Hope event page.,So check it out and check out the photo,to see how they outline exactly, what sponsors will receive in exchange, for their different donation sizes.,This will give you some amazingly good ideas.,Alright, don't have to reinvent the wheel here,,you can learn from examples, great examples.,Okay, second idea,,second fall fundraising event idea.,How about a pumpkin carving contest?,Donations can come in the form,of a registration fee to enter the contest.,Then, either partner with local farmers, for pumpkins or ask your guests,to Bring Your Own Pumpkin.,They call it BYOP, B-Y-O-P.,On top of registration fees,,the GUTS of the carving pumpkin competition, raises money every year to support, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, through a silent auction,,and with food, drink, and merchandise sales.,They also receive donations outside of the event,,this GUTS event, asking those who can't attend,to make a donation online.,Now, in this great blog,,which I'll give you a link to,,you can also download a Special Events Pocket Guide, that will help, a checklist.,Third idea, Halloween or Thanksgiving run/walk.,Oh boy, the turkey trots, right?,A well-organized run/walk could be,your most successful event of the year.,So raise money for your organization, with a spook-tacular 5K or a turkey trot,,and the turkey trots really are,a well established Thanksgiving day tradition, for those of us not on kitchen duty,,and also for those of us contemplating, all the calories we are gonna be eating,at Thanksgiving dinner.,It seems like a good way,to burn some of those off.,You can organize a virtual 5K,with an online fundraising platform.,Now virtual 5Ks ask participants to register,to run a certain distance on their own.,I think this is a terrific idea.,And to make it exciting, this is often,in exchange for a T-shirt or a finisher's medal.,You know, all of us love our medals.,This is a great way to scale the impact,of a physical event and give your supporters, the option to participate,no matter where they are.,Isn't that a great idea?,And in this blog, you can also download,a Beginner's Guide to Planning,a Charity Run/Walk Event.,Of course, you're gonna want to check, your community schedule because, these turkey trots are really pretty popular,,but hey, that online event would be great.,Alright, fourth great fundraising fall event idea,is a grape stomp or winery tour.,'Tis the season to stain your feet purple.,Pair up with a nearby winery, and sell tickets for both a tasting, and entry into a grape stomping competition.,According to the Sonoma County Harvest Fair,,where they host the annual,World Championship Grape Stomp,,the contest consists of teams of two.,While one team member uses their feet,to squish grapes in a barrel,,the other assists the flow of the juice, into a jug by cleaning skins away, from the screen and pushing juice to the pipe.,The first team to fill the jug is the winner.,Doesn't it sound like fun?,This event is a great example,of a fall peer-to-peer fundraiser, because it's fun for participants, and onlookers alike.,Empower participants to leverage, their network for donations, and ask stompers to fundraise,a minimum amount for entry.,I think this is a terrific idea, and it also gets you prime, for your peer-to-peer giving Tuesday in December.,Alright, now fifth fall fundraising idea,,a house party.,A house party can be a great way,to interact with your supporters, face to face and really humanize, the work of your organization.,So host a costume party,,set up a haunted house,,or organize a fall foods potluck.,Sell tickets, snacks,,and refreshments for a donation.,Attendees can even donate to enter,an apple bobbing or best-dressed competition.,Perhaps right now you're starting to think, gee, I love these ideas but I'm not sure, that we have the time.,Hey, present this, have a brainstorming session, with your volunteers.,You may have some volunteers, that fall in love with one or two of these ideas, and are willing to take on the event,as a project of their own.,Okay, sixth great fall fundraising idea event,,pie eating contest.,Yummy!,Appeal to a local bakery for donated pies,,and offer publicity for their businesses,in all of your communications, your pamphlets,,your newsletter, your online event page.,And recruit a fund volunteer MC,to amp up the theatrics and ask participants,to either start a peer-to-peer fundraiser,or donate a minimum gift amount for entry.,Sounds like fun.,Seventh idea, fall fundraising event idea,,is a giant pumpkin regatta.,Believe it or not, you can have contestants, race in giant, hollowed-out pumpkins,on a body of water for a prize.,And Classy says, "We are not kidding.",Instruct supporters to create teams,,raise donations for their entry,,and then have a representative from each team, race enormous pumpkin boats.,Wow, this sounds amazing!,In addition to the pumpkin race,,you can also host a festival with crafts,,activities, and concessions.,This sounds like it'd be perfect, for those of you that are near a body of water, that is warm and fun this time of year.,Okay, now in this blog,,there's also a free download,to an Annual Fundraising Calendar Worksheet.,You gotta copy down this link, and get all this good stuff.,Alright, eighth fall fundraising event idea,,a harvest festival.,If you want to host a fall fundraiser, that attracts large pools of supporters,,channel Leslie Knope and host a harvest festival,to raise awareness and donations for your cause.,Sell tickets for admission, and booth space to vendors.,Ask for sponsorships in exchange for brand promotion,on event T-shirts, merchandise,,or even within the festival name.,Now, if your community or city, already puts on a festival,,reach out to the festival officials,to form a partnership, or rent a booth, and design an activity related to your cause,to engage the crowd and ask for donations.,Okay, ninth idea, fall fundraising event idea.,Here's a good one, another yummy one.,A chili cook-off.,Sell tickets to both cook-off competitors, and attendees who simply want to sample the chili.,Appeal to prominent chefs,to register for the competition,or to sit on a judge panel.,Large sponsors could also sit on the panel,,or you can ask attendees to cast votes.,Along with the traditional awards, for categories like spiciest, vegetarian,,and the best overall chili, include, creative options for desserts or side dishes.,Make sure to engage all attendees, with family-friendly games, booths, and refreshments.,And don't forget to fork over a trophy, and bragging rights to first place.,10th fall fundraising event idea,,a football tournament.,With the football season underway,,fall is a great time to host a football tournament.,Ask participants to start a team and recruit friends,,and then tap into their networks,to raise a designated amount to compete.,Expand your event's potential,by creating multiple divisions, for groups of supporters.,For instance, participants can register, for the competitive, casual, or kids division.,They suggest to mix it up.,Instead of traditional football,,hold a powderpuff tournament, with female players and male cheerleaders.,I think that's particularly fun.,Or even a tournament for Harry Porter fans.,Don't forget about your spectators.,Sell hot mugs of butter beer,or hot chocolate to warm up the crowd.,And remember too, when you download this blog,,they have a link to an article called,Seven Fall Fundraising Ideas Inspired by Football,,if you really want to play on the football theme.,Okay, 11th fall fundraising event idea's,an orchard walk.,Partner with a local orchard and sell tickets, for an apple picking walk.,For example, the Apple Holler Family Farm,in Wisconsin holds an annual orchard walk,to benefit the MS Society.,Registration to the event includes,a one-mile tour of the farm, and a bag of apples, and a T-shirt.,And they also host an apple-themed breakfast, and a raffle at their event as well.,That sounds like something to investigate.,It sounds wonderful if you live in an area, that has different orchards.,12th idea for a fall fundraising event,,a back-to-school pancake breakfast.,So, does your organization work,to help children or education programs?,Serve up some pumpkin-flavored flapjacks,to raise money for your cause, and celebrate the back to school season.,Ask local grocers and farmers,to donate ingredients and materials, and rally your volunteers,to participate as chefs.,13th fall fundraising event idea,,Edgar Allan "Poe"try Night.,Coffee shops and quaint pubs, are great locations for this type of event,,could have an Edgar Allan Poetry Night.,So, appeal to community favorites, for event space and sound equipment.,Charge for entry and invite volunteers,to sign up and read frightening classics.,Have a competition for the best performance,,and take a poll or determine the winner, through the crowd's response.,This is certainly a unique idea.,Increase the reach of the event,by encouraging performers to create,a peer-to-peer fundraising page before the event, and raise a certain amount before the show.,Okay, and then also in this blog,,you can learn how to maximize the reach,of your event with a workshop called,The 10-Week Social Media Event Promotion Plan.,Okay, 14th idea for a fall fundraising event, from Classy, take a hike.,A National Take a Hike day falls in November.,Organize an afternoon adventure, and ask participants to register ahead of time.,Provide goodie bags, travel guides,,and event T-shirts that feature sponsors.,Weekends during the holiday season book up quickly,,so make sure to reach out to supporters, with a save-the-date email in advance.,And also in this blog, you can download, email templates to engage donors year-round.,It's a great place to go for great ideas, and great worksheets and check sheets, and additional ideas.,Okay, 15th fall fundraising event idea.,Showtime.,Put on a play featuring local talent,,or have a smaller backyard show featuring, your staff or volunteers as the actors.,I think this is a good one.,Macbeth is often a crowd pleaser, this time of year, with all the toil, and trouble, and fire burn and cauldron bubble.,So sell tickets to the show, and concessions at intermission.,This can be perfect for some volunteers, that you have that are active in a drama club, and perhaps would love to get, their drama club involved with this.,And you could also have,a "Double, Double" Film Feature.,Host a double feature screening,at a local theater, drive-in, a park,,or your own venue with donated equipment.,The fall favorites list is endless.,Dead Poets Society, When Harry Met Sally,,It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,,Scream, Hocus Pocus.,Hmm, you take your pick.,You probably have a favorite of your own.,16th idea for fall fundraising events,is a homecoming-inspired dance-a-thon,I think this sounds great.,Host a high school-themed dance, and have everyone dress up for homecoming.,Single dancers or partners can sign up,and get sponsored to dance by the minute or hour.,Keep the energy levels high with snacks, and refreshments so dancers can raise,as much money as possible.,Don't you think that sounds unique and fun?,And as an added incentive,,offer homecoming T-shirts and other branded gear,at different levels of time.,Three hours of dancing earns a T-shirt,,but six hours of dancing earns a T-shirt,,a water bottle, and a sweatband.,I think you'd need that after six hours of dancing.,17th fall fundraising event idea,is a fall trivia night.,Rent a sound system and hold this event,at a local watering hole or community center.,Create a registration page,so teams can register ahead of time, and give prizes to both the team, with the most correct answers, and the team that raises the most money, through their peer-to-peer fundraising page.,Ask fall-themed questions about Sleepy Hollow,,the history of Halloween, pie ingredients,,or movie and song quotes.,For example.,What are Adam Sandler's favorite kind of pants,in his famous Thanksgiving song?,I have no idea.,Maybe you can think of an example,a little bit easier than that.,Okay, 18th idea for a fall fundraising event,is bonfire, a bonfire event.,Sounds a little scary out here in the West, where we've had nothing but fires, but if you're in a part of the country, that the weather is right, this could be,a lot of fun, because there're a lot,of great reasons to host a bonfire in the fall.,It's the homecoming football game, s'mores.,It's just a lot of fun.,So you can partner with a business, and make sure that you partner, with you local fire department, for safety regulations.,Sell tickets ahead of time and recruit volunteers,to ensure a safe, fun-filled evening.,Of course, at all of your fall fundraising events,,even the ones without a defined ask,,make sure to keep attendees in the know, about your nonprofit's current campaign and ventures.,This is a great time to introduce, your offline supporters to Giving Tuesday, and share how important the online giving day is,to your organization because it will be coming up,and it gives them an idea of something fun,to look forward to.,So onward, 19th idea,,fall fundraising event idea, is a rake-a-thon.,Oh my goodness.,There you can certainly have,a lot of rakes going in the fall time.,This is made popular by several,Habitat for Humanity chapters do this.,A rake-a-thon typically involves, asking for a suggested donation,in exchange for volunteers to rake your yard.,While you can reach out to donors, and homeowners by going door-to-door,,an online fundraising platform would allow, your organization to collect donations, ahead of time and help you organize, your list of lawns to rake.,Alright.,Well, if raking a lawn isn't your idea,of a fun fall fundraising event,,how about the 20th idea,,the Oktoberfest Pub Crawl?,So work together with a handful of breweries, and charge for participation in the crawl.,Consider selecting pubs already embracing,a fall theme with their drink menu,,think pumpkin ales, ciders, mulled wine,,and ask participants to break out, their lederhosen to put a fun spin,on a very classic event.,Create T-shirts, fun T-shirts,,branded with your organization's logo,to help raise awareness for your cause, while participants make their way through the route.,And remember, you always always,,with every one of these events,,your main focus is to raise, awareness for your cause.,Highlight your cause, highlight the impact, that you have in the community.,Alright, the 21st fundraising fall event idea,is a Punkin Chunkin Fundraiser.,Traditionally held in early November,,a Punkin Chunkin is an opportunity,to get one more use,out of that holiday jack-o-lantern.,Competitors build buckets and enter them,in a competition to see who can launch, their carved pumpkin the farthest.,So charge a team entry fee,,and incentivize participation with an awesome prize,,like branded swag and tickets to your next event.,That's a good idea.,So however you decide to embrace fall,,you wanna, with any of these 21 ideas,,look for ways to reach as many people as possible.,If you decide to hold a physical event,,your reach doesn't need to be limited,to the number of people who can physically attend.,Hosting an event that incorporates,a peer-to-peer fundraising component, for example,,is a great way to reach more donors, and educate individuals who are new to your cause.,Whoo!,So I hope that you are excited, about one or two of these ideas,,can get some help from your volunteers,or your staff, to find peeps to make this happen.,I'm Joy Olson at BlockBuster Fundraising.,We're so happy to have spent time with you today.,We are here every Tuesday, Facebook Live, 1 Best Socially-Distanced Fundraising Ideas for Nonprofits

Best Socially-Distanced Fundraising Ideas for Nonprofits

hey everyone so today i wanted to talk, about some of the best, socially distanced fundraising ideas i,have seen out there from, other non-profits in my area and across, the country we,are several months into the kovid 19,pandemic,and while some of the regions around the, country are starting to relax, their lockdowns and restrictions we're,not completely out of the woods yet, immediately after the lockdowns began, most of the non-profits i know started,to figure out how to,pivot and change some of their usual, fundraising events and fundraising, strategies, into those that could be done virtually, but the problem is that now, several months in people are getting, really tired of doing everything on zoom,of doing everything online and basically,of virtual events,so nonprofits are doing what they do,best and that is adapt to a difficult, situation, now a lot of nonprofits are starting to,think of,in-person fundraising events that they, can hold that, are still socially distanced enough to,be safe for folks participating,so hang tight i'm going to share 11 of,those, best ideas that i've seen around next,i hope you find this helpful if this is,your first time to my channel hey i'm,amber, and i make these videos about starting a,non-profit nonprofit fundraising social, impact, volunteering and all sorts of ways to,make a difference so if this is helpful,to you please don't forget to give this, video a like and subscribe,to my channel quick disclaimer before i,get into these 11,of the best socially distanced, fundraising ideas that i've seen,i understand that every region is,different, every area is facing sort of different, trends in terms of covid so,of course anytime you're thinking of,doing any kind of in-person event, fundraising events included please be,sure to adhere to,the best health guidelines and cdc, guidelines and just make sure that, you're keeping everyone safe,so that we can beat this together okay,so here we go 11 of the best, socially distanced fundraising ideas, that i have, seen recently from non-profits across, the country, number one is a drive through, tour so one of the non-profits that i,am familiar with locally in my area is,doing something pretty cool here for, halloween coming up soon, they are having trick-or-treating uh,happen,in a drive-through format so you drive, through, you can stop at different booths along, the way and get your, treats of course and this format can be,applied to any number of things,so a drive through tour people pay a,ticket price, you can also accept donations at each of,the booths however you want to do it,people can purchase things, you can purchase online or purchase at,the event itself, but a drive-through tour is one of the, best ideas that i've seen, the second idea also involves cars and, that is a drive-in,movie i have seen so many of these,drive-in movies pop up and it is so cool,to see, something kind of uh retro and nostalgic, coming back,in full force now if you have a drive-in,theater already in your town and they're,willing to partner with you awesome, but i've also seen a lot of non-profits,partner with, like outdoor areas amphitheaters,or even appropriate buildings with the, right kind of,wall that you can project a film onto,to have these drive-in movie experiences,so check out what you have in your town, and see if someone's willing to partner, with you because this is a pretty fun, one, the third best socially distanced, fundraising idea, actually i shouldn't phrase it like that, because these are no particular order, the third idea that i've seen is for a,scavenger hunt,of course you know the classic format of,scavenger hunt is you have a list of,puzzles people need to solve or things, people need to find around a particular, region it could be your whole city it,could be,a region of your city and you give them,a list, and often it's a competition,so you can have people pay an entry fee,to be a part of the scavenger hunt, they find the items they solve the, puzzles and then the winner gets some, kind of,prize the fourth socially distanced, fundraising idea and this is one of my,personal favorites,is do-it-yourself kits so early on in,the pandemic we saw a resurgence of an,interest in,crafts and arts and that was super cool,i'm a fan myself, these do-it-yourself kits could be any, number of things but in particular some,of the best i've seen, include kits of like, paint by number or like craft kits with, instructions built in and all the, materials you need in a kit,and the donor would pay for the kit make,a donation for the kit,and then come pick it up from some, location take it back with them, and complete it from the comfort of,their home the fifth, socially distance fundraising idea is a,classic and that is a,traditional 5k or outdoor walk or event,we know that being outdoors can be done, safely,if everyone follows the rules so having,an event like a 5k,or a walk is some, opportunity for you to raise funding for, your cause that you can still do even, during the pandemic, the sixth socially distanced fundraising, idea is,a neighborhood art walk or other kind of,decorations contest for this you could, have a neighborhood, participate and the people who want to,compete could pay some kind of,registration fee,for the right to potentially win and be,judged on their, art or the way they decorated their, house and then you invite people around, the neighborhood to do a walking tour, around the neighborhood, and vote on their favorites and the best, one, wins a prize the seventh idea is,a take on another very successful, traditional fundraising concept and that,is a makeover challenge,so a lot of these typically involve, hair usually so thinking of things like, shaving your head or growing out your, mustache or beard or what what have you,and people will donate through sort of,like a crowdfunding format so each, person participating asks their friends,to donate and when they hit their goal, they do the makeover thing the eighth, idea,is a decluttering event um,especially as the pandemic lockdown, started to begin,we saw waves of people just trying to,figure out,uh how to clean their houses how to get,rid of some of the things that, they didn't need anymore especially, because a lot of the places that, could accept those donations or those, items were, closed for a long time as they're,starting to open up,you could have a decluttering event and, that could take the form of,a yard sale for your cause or if you are,a non-profit that already has a thrift, shop, structure or partner who has a thrift, shop you could potentially, turn that decluttering event into an,opportunity to raise money through that, existing thrift shop, the ninth socially distanced fundraising, idea,is also one of my favorites and it is,for a volunteer-a-thon now i love this, because it gets at two things you've got, people donating their time and you've,got other people donating their money, and there's a huge huge need for, volunteers right now because,uh you know so many non-profits had to,stop accepting volunteers,in the months after the pandemic sort of,took off here in the united states, because,it wasn't safe they couldn't accept that, many people but now many non-profits are, starting to reopen their doors to,volunteers, and they're having to catch up so a lot,of the volunteers are needed to help, them like get back to,the status quo that they were at before, the pandemic,i know one non-profit that i've worked, with before has literally a mountain of,donations, that they haven't been able to,efficiently process because,of the inability to bring in enough, volunteers to help so anyway, volunteerathon you have people who feel, safe and comfortable volunteering,it could be volunteering virtually or it,could be volunteering, out in person in a socially distanced, format, itself and then you have other folks, donate, some amount of money when that person, meets their goal, for the number of volunteer hours, they've accomplished or they could, donate per hour volunteered, the 10th idea is another classic and, that is a classic car wash, people are still driving around people, still need to keep their cars clean,so you can have a fairly contactless, experience washing cars and asking, people to donate to your cause, for that service and the 11th idea,is also something that i've tried myself, and i actually really like and it is a,yard sign sale of course you know,we're in a an election season so,you might need to wait until after this,is done so that your yard signs can have,an audience again but um the idea is,you put something inspiring about your, cause your message, your values your beliefs what you're,trying to accomplish for the world,in a catchy message on a yard sign, and then people can purchase the yard, signs or make a donation for those yard, signs and put them in their yard,so it has the added effect of raising, awareness about your cause at,the same time and while i mentioned, people, getting burned out of virtual events and, virtual fundraisers, there are still some people who are up,for those so,check out my other video the best online, fundraising ideas for nonprofits during, the pandemic,i'll leave the link to that in the, description and also here on the video, check that video out too for some more, virtual ideas that can be done, during this time okay so i would love to,hear more ideas, have you seen some amazing socially, distanced fundraising ideas out there, please don't forget share them in the, comments below, and benefit the whole community here on,my channel, once again i'm amber melanie smith i,hope you
