hi guys it's Krista from playing with, purpose I'm just getting ready for our,Halloween party and I thought I would, show you some of the things so I'm,wearing a do-it-yourself crayon costume,I have this crayon tip for the rest of,my costume I picked up this pinata at,the Dollar Tree I have these cups that, the children will have a chance to,decorate with pumpkin stickers and then,I will color their milk today orange and, they're going to decorate some cookies I,just picked up some different Halloween, decorations and to have itty-bitty,spiders some ghosts some pumpkins and, somewhere down here I have big, spiderwebs super cute and I picked up,these at the dollar tree as well so,today we're going to decorate a pumpkin, from our pumpkin patch outside and we're,gonna play it Festa parcel so there's,just a small little treat in each layer,of this and when the music stops the, children will unwrap one of the layers, and we're going to have spider races so,the children will blow their spider, across the counter if the day doesn't,get too crazy I will attempt to get some, footage of our Halloween party,I say equals goodbye that it's a good, spider mm-hmm how's your cookie oh yeah, sure you can eat it oh sure,we're what are those scary teeth oh my,goodness they are scared, good girl what did you get buddy Wow,like I like how you're encouraging your, friends what do you guys say one of my,children brought a special treat for, their friends you're super cute it's a,decorated cookie set and it comes with a,little with a little paintbrush and some, some paint to paint your cookie, super cute overall the party went very, well and the children are no napping, while I was cleaning up I thought I,would show you some of the things that,we did this morning and how they turned, out so this was definitely one of their, favorite they did some cookie decorating, they decorated some pumpkins,we also did some monster artwork they, turned out super cute,I'm Krista with playing with purpose,I'll see you next time

HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR KIDS - DIY GAMES AND AFFORDABLE DECOR IDEAS
HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR KIDS - DIY GAMES AND AFFORDABLE DECOR IDEAS
hey everyone thank you so much for, watching we recently hosted a Halloween, party at our house and I wanted to share, with you some game and decor ideas, starting off with this game called polka, pumpkin I found it on Pinterest and I,did my best to create my own at home so,all you need is a box is going to be,large enough to hold as many cups as you, need for all the kids that are going to,be at your party we had about 25 kids at,our party so I grabbed the biggest box,and I wrapped it in butcher paper you,can use brown paper or one of the kids, was suggesting that I also tried to use, black paper but I didn't didn't even, think of that I have some clear cups you,can get them bigger or smaller some tape, some black marker scissors and I also, use a glue gun I used the glue gun, instead of tape to adhere the cups to,the box because that way if the kids, were to really punch the look up they, wouldn't fall down so I placed all the, cups down sort of in the shape of a,pumpkin before I glued them down just so,I made sure that the shape was correct, and then set it down it didn't melt the, paper cup or the plastic cup at all so,you don't have to worry about that,I used this glue gun I think I bought it,at the 99-cent store at Dollar Tree I,think my good one that I have I have it,packed away since we moved in and I,haven't taken it out so if you have a,better glue gun great if not and you, need one in a pinch you can find them, for $0.99 at the Dollar Tree or 99 cent, store so I went ahead and just glued, down the rim of the plastic cups because, that was the part that was going to be,touching the box the closest and then, placing them you know in the shape of,the pumpkin and then taking one out of,the pumpkin and then putting it back, making sure that I kept the shape of the, pumpkin was really important or also,it'll look really bad and I'm sure some,of the kids at the party would have said, that doesn't look like a pumpkin at all,now you could put anything in at these, cups and again you can get different, sizes if you have bigger prizes you can,put money in there you can put candy, stick, kurz treats or toys that you find at,Party City,I found some light-up rings that I just, bought on Amazon and it came in a pack,of 25 which was perfect and it was a,cool unique prize and I wanted to make, sure the kids didn't feel bad about not, getting you know a better prize in,somebody else and some people got, skeletons pumpkins pirates and then I,used orange wrapping paper that I found,at the Dollar Tree cut out squares and, then taped them over the plastic cups, after I put the little rings in them in,hindsight I should have used colored us,at cups but because I used clear ones I,wrapped the little rings with a,different colored wrapping paper and, then I put it inside the cup and there, you go your first game poke a pumpkin, the next game is called mystery bowls on,Pinterest you can find them under, different names and you can find, different variations of how to actually, prepare this type of game I chose to do,the big box where kids reach inside the,box and then I used these plastic bins, that I have from Costco that had mixed, nuts in them I just randomly had three, available so I did ghost poo which, eyeballs and zombie guts and you want to,put different items in it these jars to,resemble those gross things,so for zombie guts I just cooked a pot,of spaghetti and I added some oil into,it so it was kind of slimy and then for,the witch eyeballs I just peeled a bunch,of grapes and what you want to do with, the peeled grapes if that's what you, want to choose you want to oil the, grapes in hot water for like a few, minutes and then take it out and then, rinse it with cold water and then they, peel off and then lastly for ghost poo I,wanted something that was not going to,be you know messy or anything so I just, put a bunch of cotton balls in there and,if you close your eyes and you think of,ghost poo you reach your hand in and it,totally feels like ghost food the kids, love this game even some of the parents, got involved it was so so cute and the, reason why I have butcher paper on one, side of the plastic bin is because I,didn't want any kids to be behind me and, tried to cheat and see what was actually, inside the bowls I should have in,hindsight placed myself against the wall,so that no kids could walk behind me so,maybe you guys can do that for your, party I had all the kids draw numbers, out of a hat so that nobody was upset, that they couldn't go first or had to go,last and then I had each kids stand to,the side and stick their arm in I wanted, them to be real face their parents if,they were taking any pictures or,recording and that way they were, also not able to peek inside of the hole, and try to figure out what they were, touching and then at once they were done, with one of the jars I would move that, over switch it for another thing and, then when they were done with that one I,would switch it around and do something, else but I would have to tell them, beforehand exactly what they were, touching so they can visualize it and,get creeped out this next activity I,love doing for kids parties,I had them decorate their own Halloween, cookies I can actually find Halloween, cookie kits at grocery stores Target,Walmart where they have the sugar, cookies already made with a design on,them it includes the icing and the, sprinkles I also bought some extra icing, just a store-bought icing I put the, icing in individual ziplock bags so the, kids can just smooth them squeeze them, out and you're not wasting a ton of,frosting you can also give them little, knives too like plastic knives to spread, out the frosting if they wanted to I,didn't do that this time because there, were just so many kids and then have, them put any type of sprinkles that they, want on the cookies some of the kids it,decided to keep them and take them home,so I had extra plastic bags so that it,wouldn't be messy for the drive a great, way to do this activity is to have, baking tins I already had a bunch of,baking tins but you can buy ones that, you can just throw away disposable ones, you can buy them at any I think they, even have them at Dollar Tree but you,can find them at a smart and final even, like the grocery store you can have them, but I think you can buy them really, cheap at a place like smart and final, where they have them in bulk and just, put everything in there and then at the,end you can just throw everything out,all the sprinkles that the kids have, their hands all over so it's super easy, and a fun activity for the kids now I'm,going to show you how I decorated my,drink station for both the grown-ups and,the kids printed out this a fun sign, that says pick your potion and then my,drink bucket that I use for all of my,get-togethers for champagne and, sparkling wine I put these really cool, ice cubes in it where I took the plastic, rings and then froze them either in an,ice cube tray or in little silicone, cupcake baking cups and then popped him,out and put him with the other pieces of,ice I have this string of skeletons that,I got from the Dollar Tree there I put, some fruit for the mimosa bar,I have other Halloween decorations that,I've collected in the last few years and, just put them around the bucket and the, drink station and the fruit here I'm,fixing one of the, since I got twisted and then on the, other side I have little flutes for, champagne or really any drink at all, that I rimmed with colored sugar and, then I got this purple tray from the,Dollar Tree this pumpkin that lights up,is actually from the Dollar Tree as well, there is so much more you can add to,your drink station but I kept it pretty, easy but still very festive and to make,my life really easy for this party I,made it a potluck this is the table I,started out with before people dropped, off their foods I have a basket back, there with items from the Dollar Tree, which included the spoons plates napkins, and then I made a really easy chair, coutry board with crackers favorite, cheese's some fruit nuts and also candy, corn which makes it extra festive a lot,of the decorations that you'll see on,here are from the Dollar Tree so very, very affordable on this tiered treat,Stan I put in some store-bought cookies, and brownies, also this jack-o'-lantern little pink, pumpkin I've had for a couple years now,so I bought these roses from the Dollar,Tree and then bent them so they fit, inside it's super easy super affordable, and very festive I also put together, these cups for popcorn and for grapes, that you can turn into little ghost, faces and Frankenstein cups very easy to,make didn't take any work at all and, then on this cake stand here I have some, candy apples and then I added the eyes, googly eyes which you can find at,Michaels and also at like Target or,Walmart and taking the rest of those, googly eyes you can turn any treat into,a Halloween treat I took these rice, krispies that were already packaged at,the store and put some googly eyes on,them with white chocolate and then over, here on this next tray I made a pretzel, spiderweb I used white chocolate and, just circled it all around this pretzels, added a few spiders and the kids loved, this as well I have a Halloween sign, this is an LED light box that I,purchased I think from Hobby Lobby I'm,not quite sure but they're everywhere, and I put this on it says let's get, hella weird which people loved the, purple tablecloth was left over from,Party City and then the black mesh was, also from the Dollar Tree, the orange foil curtains behind I bought,on Amazon and then this balloon garland,I also bought on Amazon I have a video, that I posted where I showed you how I,made this DIY balloon Garland, not be intimidated go watch my video so,you can get some tips and tricks I also, have the link to this particular product,in that video I also set up a little, photo booth area right next to the, balloon garland and I put it just on top,of a stool inside a basket I have a,bunch of photo props that I got from,Amazon once again here is my food table,I got the witch legs from Dollar Tree, and I moved some of the trays around as,people started to arrive and set their, shared plates on top of the table as,well it looked very festive super fun,and again this was very easy to do our,Halloween party was a day party and, everything with all of the colors made,it look very festive but if you had this, party at night add some lights like we,did above we also added some dry ice, which you can't see in this photo, obviously and I didn't unfortunately get,any video of it but that is another, really cool way to add decor to your, space thank you guys so much for, watching I hope you picked up some, really great and easy decorating ideas, and game ideas for your next Halloween, gathering don't forget to check out my,video with my balloon garland and I hope, you guys have a very safe and fun,Halloween and I will see all of you in,my next video bye

16 Halloween Party Games | Family Halloween Party Games
hello friends in today's video we are, going to do a,marathon together of my previous, halloween games videos,so if you want to binge watch with me,some halloween, game videos that i did last year with my,family and why wouldn't you,it's fun watching other people have fun,you get new ideas on how to have fun, with your own family, and in between each video i will be,giving you, some insight into the video answering, some questions, reading some comments from the comment, section of every, video so you might hear your name if you, have commented on those videos okay i'm,so excited this is a little bit, different i've never done,a marathon on my channel before i'm so,excited so i hope you will watch along, with me i have four halloween fall, game videos to show you oh my goodness,i'm so excited i hope you're excited too, okay, enough of my intro let's watch the first, video together are you ready, for fall and halloween party games this,is part one of a four, part series hi my name is sean if we,haven't met before,i am a mom of two who had a full-time,job planning fun events for kids, and now i stay at home and have fun with,my family with my two-year-old and my,11 year old and yes today i have four, fall themed party games for you to play, with your kids at your fall themed, party so let's jump into today's video, here we go to play these games, you are going to need some maple leaves, like these i bought at my local, michael's craft store a pumpkin,we use this fake pumpkin but it would be,even more fun with a very large, real pumpkin mini pumpkins game number, one is called, maple leaf tag you are going to need, your, maple leaves go ahead and put tape on,the back of maple leaves probably three,or four leaves, per person would do you can play this, game is fun, with as many as three or more people the, more people you have playing, the more fun it is here my husband and,son are demonstrating this game we stuck, three maple leaves on their back and the, goal was to see who could capture, the most maple leaves off the back of,people in a certain amount of time the, person who collects, the most maple leaves by the end of the, game wins the game, for the second game you are going to,need your mini pumpkins, one pumpkin per player place that, pumpkin,on each player's foot and their goal is,to see who,can erase get the pumpkin to the finish, line, whoever does this the fastest is the, winner if the pumpkin falls off your, foot then you have to start back,at the beginning game number three is,called ring the scarecrow you're gonna, need a hula hoop for this game as well,as,a scarecrow go ahead and put your, scarecrow in the ground and see if,players can toss the hula hoop and ring, the scarecrow it's a lot harder than you, think but,a lot of fun game number four is called, pumpkin patch here's where you're going,to need your, large pumpkin, and a lot of players the more players, you have, the more fun this game is divide your, players into two teams, give each team one pumpkin the goal is,to pass the pumpkin from one end of the, line,to the other by passing it over your, head the team who does this, the fastest is the winner,it is so weird re-watching us back on,here, couple of comments oh my goodness the, pumpkin, foot race it is actually insanely, difficult depending on what type of,pumpkin you have,to balance it on your foot that is a,challenge, what was your favorite of these games oh,my goodness,i think the maple leaf tag is probably,my favorite simply because, watching the boys wrestle to get those, maple leaves off themselves that's,always a fun one,i had forgotten about the scarecrow with, the hula hoop toss this is excellent and,we have moved since i filmed this video, and i have no clue, where that scarecrow is i wonder what, happened to that scarecrow because that, would be a fun game we have a larger, backyard now,so that would be really fun to line up a,bunch of scarecrows and throw hula hoops,on them, yes yes please alright let's go to the, comment section, and see what you all have to say about,it all right staying kingdom minded, hey amanda says looks like, fun worth falling for ha,that's a that's a dad joke right there, joking super cute ideas, that charlie brown b-roll yes i had to,put some b-roll,charlie brown in thank you nicolette, jordan says, awesome todd, todd says maple leaf tag would become a,domestic violence, incident in my house just saying all of,it looks fun, yeah maple leaf tag it's a lot more fun,the more people you have, especially if you have like a party and,as your guests come in just go ahead and, stick maple leaves on their backs, and then tell them the rules it can get, pretty vicious, all right let's go and watch the next, video okay watch with me,and today we are doing four fun fall, games, say that four times fast for, these games you're going to need some, orange balloons, baskets soft pumpkins washable markers, and white paper and a ladder for this, first game you're going to need that, ladder i was just telling you about,go ahead and put some signs on the rungs,of the ladder,we did 10 20 and 30 points you could use, real pumpkins so that might get kind of,messy so we use, soft pumpkins toss the pumpkins through, the rungs of the ladder, and it racks up points so the players, with the most points at the end,of the game win, game number two is called draw,jack-o-lantern you're going to need some, clean feet for this game and paper and, washable markers players will sit down,in chairs place paper on the floor, give each player a washable marker have, them place it between their toes and the, goal is to see who can draw, the best jack-o-lantern in one, minute as you can see here i think i did,a pretty good job, drawing my jack-o'-lantern i think i did,a better way mommy did the better declan, moving on to game number three game, number three is called pumpkin, patch stop you're going to blow up lots, and lots of orange balloons, here oh these are your pumpkins place, them,in your play area this for us was our, living room floor, don't forget to place one slip of paper, inside one of the balloons that has a,special prize on it,and then it's a free for all whoever, stomps on the balloon, and pops it and finds the slip of paper, with the prize written on it is the, winner of that prize, this last game is called pumpkin toss, you're gonna need your, baskets and your soft pumpkins for this, game, players will take turns throwing soft, pumpkins and seeing if they can get them, into the basket,i had forgotten about the pumpkin stomp, game, yes i need to run out and get some, orange balloons because i think my,daughter she's three now i think she, would love, this game again so i need to go i need,to go asap, and get some orange balloons what was, your favorite game, from this video let me know in the, comment section down below also i need,to tell you i'm going to put timestamps,of all of these games in the description, box so if you want to refer back to any,of them, you'll just be able to click on a,timestamp and it'll take you straight to,that, game man i love organization i'm so glad, youtube did that, pumpkin ladder toss this one is so easy,i don't know about you but i feel like,my kids love tossing games, any game that involves tossing something, into or at something else,is a winner in my house so it's just, super simple to set up that ladder, and toss pumpkins in it oh my goodness, and the facial expressions,on my son's face in this video are, priceless, all right let's go look at the comment, section and see what you all,had to say about this video i hope it,was good i hope it was good comments, all right this video needs a little bit, more love i have one comment from, living with eve that says this is,awesome i am a teacher and a homeschool, parent,we can for sure use these all right this, video, this video could use a little love all, right let's watch the third one,i say cutesy because you'll notice right, behind me is,the first game see like cute little, toilet paper ghost aren't they adorable, and so cutesy also for this game you are, going to need,a pumpkin like this one set up your, toilet paper ghost on the floor, and players will take turns rolling the, pumpkin and seeing if they can knock, over, the ghost ghost pumpkin bowling, for game number two you are going to,need some creepy crawly plastic spiders, and some of these web flings i hope you,can see this on the camera, this was a pack of four that came of,course we've already used three of those, little flings right here i will link a,full, party supply list in the description box, down below, this game was a huge hit with my family, place your spiders on the floor, give every player their own spider web, fling and players take turns trying to,capture, the spider with their spider web, fling and as you can see here my,two-year-old daughter, really got into this as did my son and,my husband highly recommend, this game for all ages and it really, doesn't get, much more simpler and easier than this, game, for game number three you're going to,divide your players into, teams of two give each team a roll of,toilet paper, and it's mummy wrap time time to wrap up,one player to look like a mummy, which is actually difficult because, toilet paper as you know is,little squares of paper and tears quite, frequently, the team that wins is the team that is,able to,wrap up one player as a mummy the best, and most complete,is,you're going to need three,trick-or-treat buckets some, eyeball ping-pong balls, cute right cute well cute yes okay, set your buckets on the table players, will gather around as you can see here,it's just myself and my two-year-old,playing but you could have, four players the more players you have, the wilder it gets, but bounce your ping pong ball on the, table it can only bounce once and then,it has to bounce into a bucket, the player that gets an eyeball into all, three of the buckets the fastest,is the winner the spider fling i don't,know about you but that's my favorite, from this video, let me know what your favorite is but,we're gonna play this one again this, year, getting those gooey spiders and just, trying to pick up,off the floor my daughter in this video,is hilarious oh my goodness i forgot how, adorable, she was okay she still is adorable she, still is adorable, but she's super cute in this video and,the pumpkin bowling the toilet paper, yes i really did draw sharpie faces on,all the toilet paper and let me tell you,we were using those toilet paper for the, next month, and my son did not want to use the, toilet paper because it had,the ghost face on it so we did we used, all that toilet paper we just had to,deal, with pumpkin we just had to deal with, ghost faces on it the whole time, let's see what you all had to say in the, comment section about this video, the bloxburg twins plays, roblox says i'm having a halloween party, with my friends i have no games and i,have lots now thank you so much, and that was just posted three days ago,i'm so glad you found this older video,of nice video thank you so,much for sharing, yes thank you for liking the video, let me know are you liking this format,of re-watching some of my videos,i did cut out the beginnings i don't,know if you noticed but i cut out my,intro, from the beginnings because i feel like, that was a bit redundant and i would, want to watch that,if another youtuber i wouldn't want to,watch a youtuber's intro over, and over and over so i cut that part out,so please i would love your feedback, let me know if you like watching this, style of marathon game was this helpful, having all four videos in one place for,the ideas do i have a hair on my lip it,feels like i do,i did i had a hair on my lip don't know, how long that was there all right, let's watch the final video, kind of said it's the last one i'm,having fun on this marathon, here we go here we go for today's games, you are going to need some spider, webbing this might not look like a,spider web,but it is a stretchy stretchy spider, webs, you're going to need some plastic, spiders a soft pumpkin, some kind of creepy creepy plastic, finger foam, bats ping pong eyeballs and,a way to play some fun halloween music,we love using our google home hub the, first game is called, spider web toss you're going to set up,your spider web in your, play area the goal of this game is to,give every player a spider, and see if they can hook the spider onto, the giant, spider web the player that does this, first or with the most spiders,is the winner monster mash is a fun, game especially if you like dancing, partner all of your players up,turn on some music have an object that, goes along, with the song place it between the, player's foreheads and they have to keep, that object between their foreheads, while still dancing partners are, eliminated as they drop the object from, the forehead whichever team,is left is the winner of the game as you,can see here i used for, monster mash we use the eyeball ping, pong eyeball, this was actually the most difficult for, michael jackson thriller,we use the creepy thick plastic finger,we also tried the pumpkin one as well, the pumpkin one was nice and soft and, easy and we used the ghost toilet paper, roll, for the ghostbusters theme song that one,was the easiest to hold between their, head anything, large and soft was easy if you want to,make it more difficult go with the ping, pong ball, and the creepy finger, dad your turn you look like a tomato, game number three is called, blow the spider give every player a,reusable straw and a plastic spider, the goal is to see who can blow their, spider across the table,of the fastest, game number four is called bat scavenger, hunt, this is a great game for all ages you're,going to take your little bats and hide, them around, your play area give every player a,bucket and whoever collects, the most bats is the winner all right, what was your favorite game from this, video i think, mine would have to be monster mash that, one is a classic we're gonna be playing,it again, this year i've got some different, objects in mind,we might be uh trying to hold these, vampire teeth,on our head although like i said in the, video, softer things are easier to hold between, the head but i love this one,it's a great game to play to those, classic music halloween music that you, love to listen to,i don't know about you but my playlist, always includes ghostbuster theme song, the monster mash um thriller, what else there's a couple of the addams, family, theme song oh we've got a whole bunch, what is,the must song that you have to have in,your halloween party, playlist i'd love to know that let me,know the other game that is,a classic hit in our family is tossing a,spider onto a spider web,i don't know why but that's just like an,easy win it's tossing a spider, that everybody in my family enjoys this, year i actually have a window right here, and i can see,the spider web we hung it outside in the, front of our house,so we can be play we'll be playing that, game,if i can find the spider my daughter was, playing with that spider, earlier today hopefully i'll be able to,find that giant, black spider we used to play that game, alright let's look at the comments and,see what you all had to say about this, game, these are great ideas thank you for, sharing your family looks, happy and harmonious thank you,we're happy most the time but like every, family we do have, our ups and downs especially TEN fun Halloween Activities for Kindergarten, First, & Second Grade // October Activities for Kids
TEN fun Halloween Activities for Kindergarten, First, & Second Grade // October Activities for Kids
hey everyone in today's video I am,rounding up 10 of my favorite October, slash halloween-ish type activities now,I say halloween-ish because only some of,them actually directly relate to,Halloween many of them actually just go,with common October themes we're going,to talk about bats and skeletons and, spiders and all that fun stuff some of,these activities I have shared in the, past many I have not some of these are, going to be free some others are not but,I'm going to run through all 10 of these,in a pretty quick way just so you can,see exactly what they are and I will, always share where to find each one,um as the video is going and also, remember that to find links to any of,them they will be down in the, description below and funnily enough,October is just one of those months, where I actually had a hard time, narrowing down just 10 activities to do,this month some months I find that with, like themes that are happening you can, find so many different fun and engaging, activities in other months it's a little, more difficult but October is one of the, those where I found a ton so these are, just 10 of my favorites and if you are, ready to hear them give this video a,like subscribe to my channel and let's,get started, all right lesson number one is to teach, all about bats now pretty much every, month that lets you incorporate some,non-fiction learning around an animal of,some kind I just find that it is highly, engaging for our K-2 students so in,October not only do we learn a lot about, pumpkins and the life cycle of a pumpkin, but I also like to teach a little bit, about bats and spiders now bats and, spiders both have a little creepy effect, that students are naturally usually uh,engaged with for some reason they're,like ooh creepy crawly and all that fun, stuff so first I like to focus on bats,so when teaching students about bats I,actually like to teach them a little bit, about bats and then compare them with, owls so I like to use these two books, right here these are just the National,Geographic the little readers and they, share tons of quick and easy and fun, facts about both bats and owls so I'd,spend a little bit of time reading both,of those books aloud probably bats on,one day owls on the other day and then,we would go ahead and practice comparing, and contrast testing these two animals, what is it like about these animals what,is different about these animals and in,my October writing unit I actually have,a bunch of differentiated Pages for, students to go ahead and compare these, two animals of course we have a Venn, diagram that I would probably use, together with the class I would put this, under a DOT cam and we would talk about, what is different about bats and owls, and what is the same and then as with, all of my monthly writing units we have, differentiated Pages here some where, students can go ahead and Trace and then, complete the sentence stem so I would, have them do both of these Pages bats, and owls are alike because and bats and, owls are different because then there's,another one here that I would probably, use in the first grade where it says, bats and owls and then it has a word box, down below and we have the word alike we,have different we have fly wings, nocturnal bird mammal just some of those, words that they are going to use when, describing bats and owls and comparing, them and then for second grade we have, some pages here with just the lines and, still a word box in case they need it,and of course a blank page for them to,write their own thoughts so you can see, those writing sheets are really, applicable to kindergarten first and, second grade depending on which one you,use and how much you know pre-teaching,you're doing with your students to have, them compare the animals so to recap, activity number one is to teach about, you about owls, activity number two is going to stick, with that back theme and after teaching, students some non-fiction facts about,Facts I like to read them a fiction, story like this very popular one,Stellaluna now I love reading this story, for many different reasons it's a cute, story about a little bat who is,separated from its mother so when I'm,reading this story in October I usually,am focusing on retelling the story, specifically thinking about the, beginning the middle and the ending of a,story and I actually have an interactive, read aloud lesson for this book,um in this unit right here this is my,interactive read aloud units for the, year and each month I have separated by,a reading comprehension skill with some, classic read-aloud stories that you, would read with your students along with, tons of higher order thinking questions,to ask them and Stellaluna is included,in this unit which I would usually read,in October so when reading Stellaluna, here is what the interactive read aloud, lesson looks like like they are all set,up the same way with some terms to,define a preview of the book and then I,have it separated by Page and what types,of questions and interactions I would, ask for students to do while I'm reading, this book aloud and then for each book I,also have a reading comprehension sheet,so here students would draw the most, important part of each section of the, story beginning middle and end and then,I also have a writing sheet here where, students would summarize the story below, and hear their tasks to make sure that, they only mention the important parts of,the story that writing sheet is clearly, geared more towards second grade, students in terms of actually completing, that sheet but the question itself can,be something that with your kindergarten,or first grade students you discuss as a,whole group so activity two is to,practice some reading comprehension with, the story Stellaluna activity number, three is a newer favorite of mine and, that is to read this story right here I,Need My Monster by Amanda Knoll now I,think there's two other others in this, series by now because it was so popular, but I love to read this fun book with my,students and then have them create their, own monster I love this story because it,has a little bit of spook but it's,mostly just a lot of fun for students to,dream up their own monster that would, hide under their bed and protect them, and not only that but after we create, our monster we use adjectives to,describe our ideal monster so you could,do this completely on your own like I,said read the story and then have, students just draw and create their own, monster and maybe use some words to,describe their monster,um in the writing sheet that I had for,the bats versus owls in that writing, unit my October one I have this lesson,in there as well where we read this, story and then students will actually, create their own monster,um by walking through these steps so I,show them that there's different monster, bodies they can have all different, shapes so we do basically a directed, drawing but they get to choose all, different things here they're going to,add different arms and legs and you can, show them examples some eyes and mouths, they can use horns whatever they want, and then they can decorate their monster, and color it in I would basically have, students do that on a big piece of,construction paper and then I would have, them write different adjectives to,describe their monster or you can have, them write a sentence or a paragraph to,extend that with a little bit of writing,so Activity three make your own Monster, alright activity number four is called, place value pumpkins and this is from a,Halloween math freebie that I made quite,a few years back here is what place, value pumpkins looks like this is,essentially just a collecting game where, students are focusing on making bundles,of tens and ones and here I use straws,so students would take turns rolling, some dice they would find that many, straws and as they continue to roll and, collect every time they make a group of,10 shown here by the straws they put it,into their pumpkin after students go,back and forth a few times they compare, the pumpkins to see uh who had the most, and when doing so you want them to like, count by tens and then the extra ones I,explained this in the freebie but, basically the only thing that makes this,a Halloween game is I use those little, pumpkins that I think I got from,Oriental Trading I know they have them,at the dollar store too but they just, kind of themed up the game but you can, play the same game called place value, cups instead of pumpkins in the same, exact way that game right there is,actually one of three different freebies, that can all be themed up with some,Halloween items but they also don't need,to be Halloween at all,um and that is in this freebie right, here I will have that link down in the, description and that unit right there, has the directions on how to play place, value pumpkins and it includes two other, bonus games that I think your kids will, like all right activity number five is,gonna stick with math and this is our, easy skeleton strategy game now I love, this game because not only is it fun but,it is very simple essentially you just, have a big skeleton board like this one, right here and you need 10 Q-tips you, will place the Q-tips on the skeletons, like they are are the bones and then, students need to take turns and they can, remove either one or two bones at a time, they can choose how many but the goal is,to be the last person to remove a Q-tip,from the skeleton the game is as simple,as that but as students start playing, they'll start to try to gather some sort,of strategy and they're practicing a,little subtraction so it's a fun little, math game as well now in order to play, the game all you need is a box of cotton, swabs and to print off some sort of,picture of a big skeleton I do have a,game board and the directions included,in this unit right here my haunted,Halloween unit this is back from like,2014 but it is filled with a bunch of,Halloween specific activities for,Reading Writing math and more so,Activity 5 is to play the skeleton, strategy game Now activity number six, that I want to share with you is,actually included in that same Halloween, unit and it is called the spooky,Halloween riddle now this activity is a,long time favorite of mine I actually, did this with my students back in 2013,that was the first time I shared it with, them and all you need to do is have, students create a directed drawing of,themselves so they'll make a little,self-portrait and then they have a,little Halloween mask that they can, decorate and cover their eyes with, here's a picture of what it looks like, and then the riddle part comes in,because it says who is hiding there you,ask who is the classmate behind that, mask and students are tasked to think of,some things to describe themselves maybe, some things they love to do,um some words they could use adjectives,to describe themselves they could share, what they're dressing up for as,Halloween this year and then at the, bottom as the teacher you go ahead and, cover the answer to the riddle so the, student's name with a piece of,construction paper now I would always, have my students do this and we would, put it on a bulletin board outside so as,students teachers parents are walking by,they can read the riddle look at the, picture and try to guess which classmate,it is and then they can lift up the flap,to see if they're correct so there you, have activity number six which is to do,a spooky riddle craft all right activity, number seven is to make sure you read, this book right here I love the story, creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds there, are so many great themes and everything,to talk about with this story I love, using this when we talk about, illustrations in writing too because he,keeps the whole thing dark and to add to,that creepiness effect now I love to,read this with the whole series he also, has creepy pair of underwear which is,very funny for your K-2 students and he,just came out with creepy crayon which I,just read to a second grade class last, week and they loved it in fact they all, found their purple crayons and kept it,on their desk all day because they were, pretending that it was too creepy to,keep in their desk now I shared this, last year but after I read creepy,Carrots with my students I like to have, them do a fun stem activity either with,a partner or with a small group and I,will give them each an orange Cube to,represent a carrot and they have to try,to build a structure to contain the, carrot so the carrot can't get out and, they can use that with all different, materials whether you have Legos Magna, tiles uh just other types of Cubes, popsicle sticks whatever you want you,can kind of give them a bunch of,different options and then go ahead and,try to build that there are many books I,love to read in October but this one, tops the list all right activities, number eight and nine are both related,to spiders and they're both entirely, free so I'm gonna lump them together let,me show you what they are first is a,very simple spider word family craft, that I created again almost 10 years ago,uh with my first grade students because,it was a simple activity and we're,working on word families so this is what,it looks like right here it is just an,easy craftivity we talk about how, spiders have eight eyes and they also, have eight legs and then they go ahead, and cut out the legs and all the pieces,to create their spider and then I will, give them a word family ending so here,we did at and students have to come up,with eight different words in the at,word family and they write them on the, legs again very simple straight to the, point and it's kind of a great, decoration if you want to spray Bruce up,your classroom a little bit Now activity,9 is a much newer freebie it is one I,shared last year and it's actually a,series of freebies that you can use when, teaching about spiders here is what it,looks like there's a quick outline here, that tells you some of the stuff that's,included in this freebie like a kwl, chart a recording sheet to share about, spider facts that you've learned an,opinion writing sheet where students can, share if they think spiders are creepy,or cool they can go ahead and compare, arachnids and insects and then I have, two different math games one is called, spider bump and one is called spider,Shake where I share how to play each, game in this freebie I had actually made, and compiled all those spider freebies, last year because I was subbing in a,first grade classroom and we had a,spider themed day so that's why we have, some writing activities or reading, activities and some math activities as,well and last but not least Halloween, activity number 10 is another freebie, for you this one is very Halloween based, because it is a free Halloween mini book, now this is what it looks like right, here it has eight different pages and,it's geared towards first and second, grade there is first a little passage, with a brief history about Halloween and,a comprehension check-in there is a,candy word search for students there are, three different writing prompts with, illustrations a quick Edition practice, game and then there's a page to share, some Halloween safety tips before, students go out trick-or-treating with,Halloween falling on a Monday this year, that type of little mini book is,something I would do with my students, throughout the day on Monday before they,go out on Halloween night all right so,there were 10 different fun October,halloween-ish activities that you can do,with your students this upcoming month, like I said I had a hard time even, narrowing it down but I wanted to share, some of my favorite books I read aloud,as well as some of the different, activities I like to do for Reading,Writing and math I also sprinkled a few, little crafts in there as well as a stem, activity so you have enough for the, whole month now like I mentioned at the, beginning of this video in the, description below I will actually number, each Activity 1 through 10 and then I,will link where you can find each one, because they're kind of separated in,different places and the freebies aren't,all connected in one so I will link each, activity and where you can find it as,always I hope you enjoyed this video if,you did please give it a thumbs up so I,know make sure you are subscribed to my,channel and click that Bell that way, you're notified of every new video see,you in the next one bye, foreign

🎃14 DOLLAR TREE HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS
🎃14 DOLLAR TREE HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS
hey guys welcome back to my channel and, though my makeup looks a little bit, crazy today I mean my sisters and my mom,are actually on our way to a witch fest, but I thought this makeup was kind of,fun and I thought this would be a good, time to do a little bit of an intro for, this video so in today's video I'm going,to be giving you guys a bunch of ideas,of ways you could throw the cutest,Halloween party for your kids using only, items from Dollar Tree so to start out I,want to show you guys a few different, decor ideas and ways you can spruce up,the house and give it a lot more of a,Halloween feel for the party okay so for, this first one I think it's important to,have a really cute spooky fun front door, that's really welcoming for the party so,I am going to be doing a mummy front, door just using some white streamer I,actually only ended up using one pack of,this so you only need one for the door I,also grabbed one of the tan creepy, cloths and then some of these large, eyeballs so basically all I'm doing is,cutting a whole bunch of these streamers,at the same length and then I'm just, taping them on either side of the door, here at the top I thought it would be,cute to add some of this creepy cloth, and I cut it just so it would fit around, the eyes so I did end up putting the, eyes just on the door and I didn't like, how plain it looked but I happen to have, some of this yellow and black craft, paper and I thought that if I just taped, those together that it would add a,little bit more to the eyes and the last, thing I did was just cut a few bats and,I stuck them all around the face do you, feel one kiss, this next one is another creepy thing, that you could stick in the front that I,think will just creep out the kids a,little bit as they come into the house, using to laundry baskets from Dollar,Tree I'm just giving them one really, good coat of black spray-paint and then,I go over it a little bit with the, metallic this is just stuff that I had,on hand so you don't necessarily need to,have both but I thought it would look, more like a cage and that's what I'm,creating with this then using one of,these creepy skeleton ghost things from,Dollar Tree I am just going to tie it,inside of the cage and then I'm going to,use some hot glue and glue it shut for,the last part of this I'm just using one,of the Dollar Tree chains and I'm using, this to hook to one of my little plant, hangers that I have sitting outside, okay this next one I feel like is a,necessity to have at any Halloween party, but I am just using two orange, tablecloths and then one of these a,little wall decor backdrop things and, this one's just the brick one so I am,just sticking this on to my window and, these actually just stick to the window,I use hardly any tape for this but I,just wanted there to be a little bit of,an opening and then I am going in with, this cute witch garland to finish off,the top and then I also cut up some, black streamer and then twist them, around and tape them at the bottom so,they need to have that really cute twist,to them so again this is just going to,be a cute area for all the kids to take, pictures up in their costumes, this next one is really cute I grabbed a,few of these witch hats from Dollar Tree, and then some of these bats and I am,just going to be hanging them for my,ceiling with the bats all you need to do,is tie some string around them and, that's literally all you need to do but, with the witch hats there is an extra, step so I tied a string to a paperclip, and then using a needle I just drove, that thread through the top but because,it's tied to the paperclip, that's what secures the string to the,Hat,this next one is one of my favorite, really simple DIYs I just grabbed a,couple of these black cobweb bowls two,of the little skeleton hands a,candlestick and a skull all I'm doing is,hot gluing all this together you can use,e6000 that is a little bit more secure,it just takes longer to dry but for this, video I just went ahead with some hot, glue, there is no area for me come from, and here it is all finished I think this, will be a super-cute candy bowl that you, could easily display as your centerpiece,at your party, this next one kind of serves as two, purposes it's a really cute decor idea, but it will also act as a place to store, candy or treats or anything that you, want at the party so using each of these, items I am just going to be making a,whole bunch of spider bowls that I will, have all over my table and I will have, different treats in each of them, and while you're on the subject of,treats we are going to be moving on to,all the cute fun treat ideas I'm just, mixing a whole bunch of treats from,Dollar Tree and I'm making my own little,Halloween Chex Mix Bowl this next one is,a really cute idea for drinks and using, some of these cute mason jars and using, some leftover black poster board I am,just going to cut out little faces and I,am mod pausing these on to the glasses, these next ones are some of the easiest, things to make you just need some,dum-dums some white napkins and some, rubber bands and then a sharpie and I am,just making cute little ghosts with this,my mom used to do this all the time, she always had these around the house, and sure enough when my kids saw these, they got just as excited as I remember I,got when she would make these for us,another idea with some suckers would be,using some bigger suckers so it can be,any kind that you want I'm going to,twist some little spider legs on there, and then glue some eyeballs to make, these cute little spider suckers, this last food idea is probably the, easiest all you need is some Reese's,peanut butter cups and some pretzels and, then you just stick these pretzels in,and you got some cute little witch, brooms, moving on to some game ideas I just, grabbed five of these cute little witch, hats and I'm gluing them on to a poster, board and we are going to be playing, which pitch with this I've grabbed a,couple of these glow sticks and this is,what we are going to use to toss over, the witch hats, now for this portion of the video I,asked my twins to help me demonstrate, how these games are to be played, this next one is pumpkin bowling and, just using some toilet paper from Dollar,Tree and a Sharpie I am just drawing, some ghost faces on and then we are, using a pumpkin to bowl I found this, really cute skeleton and we are going to,play pin the bowtie on the skeleton so I,am just cutting up some poster board and, making a whole bunch of little bow ties,I do think another cute idea would just,be to take all of the bones apart from, the skeleton and then just leave the, head on the door or wherever you're,playing this game and then have each kid,try to put the body part on to the wall,I think that would be just another, really fun way to play this game I saved, the best for last this is my ultimate, favorite idea growing up as a kid my mom, used to take treats around to all the, neighbors so that they could hand them, out to us as we trick-or-treat it,through the neighborhood now if you, aren't familiar with your neighbors or,you need an alternative way to play this, you could easily have someone standing, behind each door in your house or,throughout the yard whatever you want to,do and have the kids go,trick-or-treating inside of the house, again I remember this being my ultimate, favorite thing and it's like my greatest, memory at our Halloween parties I always, remember thinking how do our neighbors, know that we're coming I had no idea, always surprise me how they knew that we,were all going to be coming,trick-or-treating because it was always, like the 15th of the month you know it,was nowhere close to Halloween so again,if you didn't do anything else I think, that this is a must do for your,Halloween party okay guys well that's,everything for this video thank you so,much for watching I hope you left with,at least a few different ideas or maybe, some things you've never seen or thought,to do so if you have not yet hit that, red subscribe button please do that and,if you like this video be sure to give,it a thumbs up that always helps boost, this video and also helps boost my,channel thanks again and we will see you, guys in the next video,I'm a traveler
