hey guys welcome back to my channel it's,your girl coraline jones here and if,you're new to my channel go ahead and,hit that red subscribe button and if,you're a returning subscriber what's up,in today's video i decided to decorate,my door,um i found all of my items at the dollar,tree this is just to give you guys some,ideas and something to do if you have,kids like i do,and i know this should turn out fun so,i'm really excited about this project so,i'm gonna go ahead and include some,footage of me at the dollar tree picking,out some items and then we're gonna jump,to decorating the door,oh,so you guys as you can see i'm starting,on a fresh clean door,uh i did cover my door number,for privacy reasons of course and now,i'm starting with this yellow and black,cute caution tape that i found at the,dollar tree it says do not enter and i'm,just gonna play around with the,placement until i like it,and that's what i'm doing first and,excuse me y'all i did not even notice or,feel that,my jacket to my jump um,sweatsuit was up so excuse my little,biker shorts,or whatever but let's just not pay,attention to that,and here i'm still putting the um,caution tape on the door,um yeah so,that's what i'm doing here,so i finally figured out how i wanted to,place the caution tape now i'm going to,be using this fake,uh spiderweb stuff i found i'ma just put,a disclaimer out here now you guys this,stuff is very messy,um,it's just it gets stuck to you,and it's so much of it like it's so so,stretchy,but it's like also,just it's just confusing like,trying to figure this out you guys are,going to see,i struggle to try to get it to stick,and to try to come up with the cute,design it's just,we're gonna get there but um just sit,back and watch because you guys it's,gonna take me a little minute to try to,figure out but in the meantime i did,place,the little skeleton here that i found,there on the door it is like coco themed,because that's what my kids wanted,so um i did pick this coco,inspired skeleton up there as well,so you see me here standing i'm trying,to get these little fake glittery back,uh bats,off of this thing that it's attached to,but i found these and i thought they,were very cute and would go along with,the theme,so i'm just trying to struggle more it's,so sad how i struggled to get those off,but i'm just trying to place them around,and see how i like them,so,i know guys i know it looks janky just,hold on just hold on,this little welcome mat i did find that,at the dollar tree as well but i'm not,gonna end up using it you'll see later,on in the video,but here i found this cute little,skeleton bucket,and this little like um,i don't know like decorative like little,stuff i'm gonna stuff,inside of the um,bucket because i'm gonna put this sign,down inside,and i wanted it to be able to like,stand up and not like tip over anything,so,i stuffed that down in there to help,with that,and this is the sign that i found is,also coco inspired i thought it was,really cute,i ended up not liking how the purple was,showing so i am going to take some more,of this,spiderweb stuff and set it on top i'm,not really going to stretch it out,because again it's very messy and here,i'm just showing you guys what i came up,with,um i also got that little glittery,skeleton,there as well,and this is what i've came up with so,far,i know you guys are probably confused,like what happened to all the,decorations but i just did not like the,green,background on the door so i took,everything down and i am starting over,so that's what you're about to see me do,here,i decided to go with this um a bright,orange wrapping paper and i'm just gonna,wrap my door like i normally would,during christmas time but,of course this is for halloween say hey,to chloe,now this go around i'm going to start,with this pretty purple,tape i found it says beware,and i'm going to start off with using,this first and i'm going to mix it in,between with the yellow,do not entertain,and back and forth this is what i came,up with,i don't know if it's cute to you guys,but i thought it was cute for me,i let my kids see this and they said it,was cute they liked it so that's what we,went with and now i'm going to put a,little skeleton back just to see what,kind of vibes it's giving,and,now you guys,here comes the annoying part,trying to get this spiderweb stuff DIY HALLOWEEN DOOR DECORATIONS!🎃

so we just got some chipotle uh we just,smashed that real quick in the car,listen they got this new brisket,yeah he likes that,go check it out go simple i'm really a,fan of like,pork,so it's all right to me but he really,likes it so,it's the best thing they got there go,eat it asap man,yeah so anyways today we are going to go,shopping because,our apartment complex is doing a,halloween door decoration contest and we,want to win,right so,listen if you're looking for ideas on,how to decorate your door we're going to,give you guys a tutorial on how you can,do that yeah yeah because we're going to,record the whole thing so y'all can,watch this,decorate our door and we won't find out,if we won till like october 26th or,something like the end of the month but,whenever we record a video probably,around halloween we'll let you guys know,if we won or not but,you know we we trying to win so we're,gonna try to come up with something cool,we've already looked at a few ideas so,we're just going to go probably to,michael's you know the arts and crafts,store and,see what they got see what we can do,that's going to be cool but easy i think,we fill in because ain't nobody we,looked around ain't nobody doing this,yeah like on our floor alone like only,like one person decorated their door and,it's not even really a decoration they,just have like a halloween reef that,yeah and a rug,and it's like that's real big we got,some fire ideas man,if you were looking to decorate your,door you're in luck,we will see you guys at the,decoration store,all right you guys so we finally made it,to michael so we're gonna go inside,uh the ideas that we were thinking of,was either like a big monster mouth like,eating a pumpkin which could probably be,hard or just a monster mouse yeah we'll,show you a picture we'll play yeah i'll,put a picture on here or the mummy like,type of thing,so we're just gonna go in here and see,what they have maybe they have other,stuff that'll inspire us to do something,else,but so far those are the two things,we're thinking of so we're just gonna go,in here and see what they have,all right you guys so we're in the store,art stuff,we might have to like make them or,something,we'll just make them,or could just have four eyeballs up,this door man you know what i'm saying,so we have some ideas,yeah we still don't know which one we're,gonna pick so,well let's start with the black paper,because we know for sure we're gonna,need a big piece of black tea all right,so let's do that first,so we was looking for black paper guys,and they told us all they have is,that,i mean we could get multiple but is it,going to look kind of stupid if we do,that and try to like tape them together,exactly that's the only,problem,yeah i have to see if this measures with,the door itself,if i walk into this,oh actually it doesn't matter if we do,the mummy thing because it's going to be,covered anyway,so we could make that work but is it,wide enough to go over the door right,because it's gonna with anything we'll,just turn it this way,you think it's still wide enough yeah i,measured it in my phone so we should be,fine or we could just go to another,store follow today,i don't even know another art store you,could go to uh that would probably have,that you could go to,i'm trying to think all the time that,does custom cut maybe like office,max or something like staples or,something like that yeah they might they,could probably cut it directly or how,you want i'm saying if you want to do,that,she's so cute,she's so hey,but anyway yeah we're gonna figure this,out and decide but so far we're leaning,towards the mummy man yeah i'm thinking,that's gonna be easier,i don't know so we could still get the,other stuff here like wasn't it the eyes,like yellow and black so you can still,get like yellow or black paper to cut,out for the eyes,okay so,first step is to get these big pieces of,paper we're gonna just get like five of,them right um,i don't know how long they are,but we could cut so what we're gonna do,is we're just gonna make it work we're,just gonna cut it if it doesn't fit,and just kind of go from there so now we,need to get something for the eyes and,for the mummies the mummy stuff the,mummy wrap yeah,so let's find i'm going to grab some,yellow paper,that's a whole pack though we could just,get one poster board so we're gonna get,some,poster for,some more poster board so maybe one,because it's only eyeballs just one oh,wait we need to get oh no we don't okay,yeah,i need a good one,what are you talking about whoopee,all right so we got that i need you to,show the picture so i can like figure,out because i don't want us to forget,everything,all right you guys so michael's didn't,have what we were looking for like the,party streamers and white for the mummy,stuff,so,we ended up going to party city that's,where we're at right now,i know a party store will have,the white streamers so it'll look all,mummy five-ish so,that's where we're at right now and then,we're gonna go home,start working on this door so,that would be exciting,so,this is what i'm looking for so this,this is going to be perfect because it's,like papery it's going to look like,mummy-ish,they're really cheap so let me just grab,a few of them because we might have to,overlap a little bit,so i think three will be good but,i think this is gonna look cool yeah,and then we also grab this too a happy,halloween,little lettering thing like at the top,of the door maybe hopefully it's not too,long though no we could bunch it,together we'll figure it out so look,what's your total so far so we spent,about 17 dollars,and some and some change at,michael's okay,that's an extra four dollars and that's,what that's like nine bucks so that's,nine plus four,fifteen,so that's 32,and did we buy anything else before this,for the door and the pumpkin,how much were the pumpkins we bought,little pumpkins to put on the sides of,the doors those were like eight dollars,a piece so 32 plus 16 is what,32 plus,48,it's about 50 so 50 bucks to go ahead,and decorate your door,and you probably could get it done,cheaper you know if you don't want the,letters or the pumpkins if we didn't buy,the pumpkins and the letters it would,have been cheaper but we're trying to,win a contest,okay cool so we have everything we need,once i'm we're,on this door hopefully omni doesn't run,down the hall the whole time,yeah screaming but yeah i say,we got everything so all right,cool cool cool,absolutely your background noises,because our daughter army is having a,blast,okay,oh,you want to put it over here,okay,here so,um,pretty much we're just,do,do,do,so,do,do,all right,all right,lemonade,so,this,is so we just took some yellow,uh cardboard paper i drew a circle and,played it out and said you could like to,do the eyeballs,so,yeah this took a while yeah just like,two hours yeah this was a minute tell me,how you did the strips you know what i'm,saying yeah just cut the strips,all right you guys,of our mummy door this is our first time,doing this we've never done this before,so,i think we did pretty good,99.9 percent of all comment Nightmare Before Christmas Door Decoration Tutorial

hey everybody this tutorial is going to,take you through the steps to make this,Nightmare Before Christmas door,decoration my apartment building has an,annual contest for Halloween and the,movie poster was my inspiration this,year I suggest watching the tutorial in,its entirety before starting for tips on,what I learned along the way I got as,many items as I could from the dollar,store and this turned out to be a very,affordable project that took roughly,eight hours over the course of a few,days to finish alright so let's get,started your first step is to wrap the,front door with black fabric I used,vinyl and would suggest using something,similar the type I found came attached,to a white interfacing which was perfect,so I could hot glue on it without,ruining our door on that note I highly,suggest you test a swatch of your fabric,beforehand to ensure that you can paint,and hot glue without it bleeding through,you essentially want to wrap the door,like a giant present so using duct tape,pulled the fabric as taut as possible to,get a smooth surface cutting away any,excess,for the lock handle and deadbolts I,started by cutting small holes around,the outlines slipping the handle through,then cutting away any excess fabric to,again make it as flat as possible,okay first problem our door has a pretty,thick seal so the added fabric stopped,the door from fully closing,to fix this I cut away the fabric from,the side securing it with thin strips of,duct tape our door frame gives me about,a half inch leeway for the tape to be,hidden when the door is closed,problem is solved and now we have our,blank canvas the hill is made from a,cardboard base which I made by,frankensteining some old Amazon boxes,together to create one large piece,when you're happy with the placement,secure them all together with duct tape,use a few pieces of duct tape to hold,the full piece of cardboard to the door,and repeat cutting small holes where the,door handle and lock go through using an,exacto knife,use a pencil to sketch the outline of,the hill and definitely keep a large,eraser nearby in case you need to redraw,the swirl a few times like I did I,wanted to give the hill some dimensions,so that it would stand out from the door,so to achieve this I pulled apart cotton,balls and glued them to the cardboard,now this step does take some time so put,on a binge worthy show create a cotton,ball Reserve and dive in,to give myself a paintable surface i,paper machine over the cotton with,tissue paper add a little water to some,Mod Podge or white glue to make paper,mache paste and be gentle to avoid,tearing the paper repeat this process on,all sections of the hill,you can see here that I left a space,around the door handle and the spaces,for the pumpkins much more thin not,videoed but to trace the moon I tied a,piece of thread to a pencil held the,thread to the center of the door to,measure the diameter then trace the,circle onto a few pieces of tissue paper,I covered my work surface in cling wrap,then painted all pieces with paper mache,paste now my original idea was to make,the moon slightly bowed so that I could,put string lights behind it and to,achieve that I used some t-shirts and,placemats to create a small mound,underneath I'll tell you right now that,did not work I would have needed many,more layers of tissue paper for the dome,to hold and by then I don't even think,string lights would have been bright,enough to show through all of the layers,so for anyone recreating this skip the,t-shirt Mountain and work on a flat,surface once the tissue paper has dried,use acrylic paint to paint a yellow to,white gradient moving inwards towards,the center,once the hill has dried and is ready to,paint start with a medium gray and paint,all of the areas of the hill that are,illuminated by moonlight then paint the,rest of the hill in a dark gray and,leave both pieces to dry overnight,moving on to the pumpkins I found these,styrofoam craft pumpkins at the Dollar,Tree following the seam line use an,exacto knife to cut the pumpkin in half,and the stem is apparently attached with,a toothpick now it's unexpected but it's,in the way so either pull it out,completely in hot glue the stem back on,or break the toothpick off at the base,draw a jack-o'-lantern face using a,pencil and cut out the pieces with the,exacto knife I didn't care for the,bright orange color so using some orange,yellow and brown acrylic paint I painted,a layer over the entire pumpkin,including any white styrofoam that was,showing through when the hill has dried,add high light and low light streaks to,achieve a similar texture effect as seen,in the poster,I used a mixture of black and blue for,the dark streaks and white for the light,no need to make these perfect just be,sure that the streaks are going in the,direction that the hill curves,that should dry pretty quickly but with,the time to wait I moved back to the,pumpkins to add battery tea lights to,the inside trace the outline of the tea,light on the bottom of the pumpkin and,cut it out slightly within the outline,so that the tea light fits nice and snug,it's time to free the hill from the,excess cardboard so using strong,scissors and an exacto knife cut away,all of the excess,be very careful with the exacto knife,here and maybe give a small chair once,you're finally done with the swirl,section and cut away all the excess,tissue paper from the moon secure the,moon to the door with hot glue and I,suggest being a bit more liberal with,the glue here than I am to make sure it,doesn't fall for the hill I started with,many of many loops of duct tape to,support the majority of the weight then,use hot glue to secure the edges to make,it as flush as possible the edges did,end up popping away from the vinyl so I,would suggest adding more duct tape,closer to the edges or use black,electrical tape to tape the perimeter to,the vinyl secure the pumpkins with hot,glue and it's fine to take a moment to,show off your progress so far to your,roommate,now for the Jack and Sally silhouette I,find that a grid helps me sketch so,using my iPad I saved this picture to my,photos edited it and then with one,finger still on the screen for the,cropping tool I took another screenshot,so that my reference photo would have,the grid,draw a grid onto a piece of black,cardstock mine measured out to be six by,14 inches and then copy the silhouette,onto the cardstock,using an exacto knife and ensuring that,your workspace is protected I used an,old shopping bag cut out the silhouette,I held the silhouette up to the door and,found that Sally's back leg wasn't quite,long enough to reach the hill so I added,a small extension and then using wooden,skewers with the pokey side down hot,glue it to the back of the silhouette,when you're happy with the placement,poke the skewers into the tissue paper,at the top of the hill and make any,adjustments as needed,I created the stone fences out of craft,styrofoam blocks start by cutting the,blocks in half lengthwise and be,prepared for styrofoam fuzz to be,everywhere then use a pencil to mark the,outlines of the stones and then use the,edges of the exacto knife to give the,stones shape and texture,once you're happy with the stone shape,paint the whole thing in a medium gray,and then use a skinny brush to add black,in between the stones using a sponge,brush sponge on some light blue and,white paint to give the stone some more,added texture I held these pieces up to,the door and saw that they were sticking,out far too much so I cut away some more,foam from the back,I also found these tiny craft pumpkins,at the Dollar Tree which after cutting,in half and painting on some,jack-o'-lantern faces were the perfect,size for the fence posts I used 20 gauge,wire for the posts and if you don't have,wire cutters like me this wire is,pliable enough to break after bending it,back and forth a few times I made the,post roughly three to four inches long,but note that however long you want them,you need at least half an inch to punch,into the foam I then used 22 gauge wire,which is also breakable after some,bending and wound those pieces,lengthwise across the posts since the,wire I already had was silver i roughly,painted over them in gray to make them a,little less shiny to poke the pumpkins,onto the fence I cut a few slits in the,bottom with an exacto knife and held the,wire steady with some needle nose pliers,use generous amounts of hot glue to glue,the fences to the hill and then add some,extra mini pumpkins to the rest of the,hill slope,I decided that the fences blended in far,too much with the hills so I added some,more white paint onto the front and the,top to give it some more dimension a few,other paint touch-ups later and there,you have it a Nightmare Before Christmas,door perfect for the Halloween season,hope you enjoyed,you

HALLOWEEN FRONT PORCH DECORATING IDEAS 2021 | DIY DOOR HANGER

hey friends i am so happy you're here,today we are going to be decorating the,front porch which you guys know,i love to do we did a fall front porch,let me get out of the way,there we go,i did a fall front porch you guys really,enjoyed that video so we're gonna do a,halloween front porch um one of this is,my subscribers which i'm just saying one,of my friends because if you're here,you're a friend to me mentioned i had,too many small details on the porch so i,agree i added some large scale items and,i'm going to show you before we,completely deconstruct the entire thing,and start over but if you don't have a,front porch don't let that,stop you you can,use what i'm gonna do,a foyer or,a fireplace or whatever you'll see what,i do and then i'll you know we can kind,of implement it in your home wherever,you're at today so really excited about,today's,video emma is really excited about,today's video too,right let me see your hands,so we're struggling naps these days so,the struggle bus we are on it but i love,you guys i'm bouncing i'm bouncing we,are gonna go deconstruct the front porch,you know,if you've had babies or you have babies,you know this is motherhood life so glad,you guys are here with me and let's go,do this okay so the kids are playing and,chris is cleaning out the van so i'm,going to show you real quick this was,what i added,i got these here from home depot,i showed these on my instagram and my,tick tock,this is a little trick to get your moms,to last all year long let me show you,they're fake,they come as a sphere and then you can,take them apart and i did,so i got one red one i got one,multi-colored so half of it's there it's,literally just sitting,on top,and then,over here is the other part the sun is,so brutal the command strip fell off my,faux candles actually melted look at,this,they melted this is the florida sun for,you guys let me get you,look at that so here's a final view,looking real cute with just one wreath,this is just life right now,with the baby on my hip how are y'all,let's do this,oh,foreign,okay so here's the clean slate,after cleaning all the cobwebs and,everything off i thought you know i,really could have kept that but you know,i wanted to clean it up a bit i am going,to eventually pressure wash this,um,probably before the christmas decor,but this is just about to be covered,right there so i'm going to leave it so,i like this i like it cleaned off like,this actually,but,let's,have fun with it now,so i wanted to come in here and tell you,guys real quick about uh,these here because i posted it on my tip,talk and my,instagram and i had a really good review,like everybody was excited to see these,so these are moms i got them from qvc,um like i had mentioned it's a sphere,and i already kind of told you about,them but i want to give you more detail,so,there you go it comes with stakes that,you can put in the ground so they don't,move,little clips,right here to clip on the other,section,and you can literally just put like have,it,as the sphere and put it in your planter,you can totally do that or,watch this just,plop,looks like that,so you can do a lot with it,i,will try to get the link for you guys,i know they have this color left they,don't have the multi color left anymore,however they do have green and white and,some others,i really like them obviously when you go,look really like,up close,it doesn't look exactly like a mom but,from far away,it's amazing so,this is one way for me because i feel,like i always kill moms especially in,florida they don't last and they're,expensive and i don't like wasting my,money so i really like this too also to,use at christmas time,and valentine's,and fourth of july,and whenever i want so just wanted to,show that to you guys are really really,quick,and like i said i got it from qvc i will,try to put a link um in my description,box if that's something you're,interested in i would pick up,the green ones and the white ones i will,be ordering some white ones for sure,so i did not like the uh,the planters there so i decided to take,those down and put the red moms on top,but i decided no,less is more so i'm going to use,my,lanterns here,the afternoon sun has melted them a lot,but that's okay,because,i'm gonna use them and i think it'll,look really good,okay so i think that's how i'm gonna do,i was gonna do the pop of orange but it,just wasn't feeling right to me i don't,know if i'll add it back so make sure,you stay tuned for the end of the video,and we'll see if i do,it's so far so good the um,ball front porch as much as i loved it,it got too cluttered for me really quick,so i want to do something a little more,simplistic i'm also going to do,the diy door hangers and i'm going to,have a pop of orange on there so i'm,excited to show you guys that funny,story i went in there to get my old,plaid,pillow that i've had for a while now and,it says hey boo which is one of my,favorite things and i actually say it to,you both time,but that's what i was going to say on my,diy sign so now i feel like i need to,come up with like another,thing maybe trick or treat or,happy haunting i don't know,hey boo is what i was gonna,say don't know,i don't know,we'll see we'll see we'll figure,something out for sure like,we'll figure something out,one,so i decided to do,some more kind of like a lower hanging,so let me just show you what i did i,took some,fishing line,and then clear push pins you use,whatever works for you,and,cut the same size for off like fishing,line for all of them and then i took my,hot glue gun let me get this to focus in,so i took this clear push pin and i just,lined it right here at the top with some,hot glue and then i just,wrapped the fishing line around it and,then cut off the,excess excuse my camera,so i got these 18 inch squares from,michaels you can see it right here,and,this is what it looks like on the front,and i am going to use these right here,i'm going to make a bow for the top and,i cut,hey boo on my silhouette i will show,that to you guys and then i don't have,any paints so i got this little pack of,paints as well so we're going to make,this look,really fun and festive very whimsical my,style bright and fun,so yeah here we go,so here's hay,and then i did boo,so hey,boo,i wanted this to be a little bit bigger,but i wasn't able,to figure out how to make it bigger just,because my time is very limited with,emma so yeah,i might i could try to hand do it,i don't know,this one works out really good,because i'm going to do a border here we,go,so these signs are really easy to make,and i really like them because you can,do anything you want and another little,added bonus you can do one,you know saying or phrase on the front,and something on the back for different,seasons so,these are amazing but as you just saw on,the screen what i was saying was,i decided to,make the vinyl here and use it as a,stencil you can completely paint this,sign,do whatever you want with it and then,lay the vinyl on top and it's done but i,like to add highlight and accents to my,words which you will see in just a,minute just to make the word pop and,give it some more dimension so i'm using,it as a stencil you could use um the,cricut stencil,type vinyl i didn't have any so i just,used what i had as you can see i'm,always just using what i have,don't go and spend money if you don't,need to so i basically paint the sign,black because i want the letters to be,black and then i'm going to put white,over it i was using a brush but it was,way too small so,a little roller here works so much,better just watch the process you'll,love how it comes out i sure did but i,just wanted to throw that out there,because you don't have to do everything,i'm doing you can paint the sign do all,the designs you want and then lay the,vinyl on top and you are good to go,and then i'm making a bow here i can,make bows without this little i think,it's called a bowdabra or,i don't know,how to say it but i got it from,michael's a long time ago and you just,put the,bows in here and it helps make the most,beautiful thick gorgeous bow so i think,you guys will love this and just kind of,let your mind wander a little bit you,can do so so much you can say whatever,you want and like i said you can change,this out for the season so on the back,you can do something totally different,do you ever,respond again,i could never make it on my own,not,baby no i don't wanna go you know how,much i hate sleeping alone,tell me,together,tell me,when i tell you i am so in love with the,way this came out that is an,understatement i could not stop looking,at,the sign i,love it so much i feel like everything,came together so beautifully,i got the,little striped rug here from amazon and,then the pumpkins from michael's the,crows from amazon the hats and the broom,from amazon so you know i will put a,link in there but if i don't feel free,to ask i love the way it came out i,think it turns,out so cute not spooky because i have,little kids i don't do the spooky thing,for halloween but very festive and just,i love that pop of orange,make sure you guys stick around for Halloween Door Decoration

well hey there guys and welcome back on,this week's show a Halloween door,decoration,well every year at the local Fall Fair I,enter something in their competitions,that are crafting competitions whether,it be woodworking or what-have-you,this year I entered something different,which is a Halloween door decoration,competition so I thought I would bring,it to you guys here an alternative,Tuesday's and walk you through how it is,that we're going to make our spooky,decoration well the first thing that I,need to make is some fake boards and,what we're going to use to make those is,some half-inch thick r30,styrofoam insulation I need to mimic,some fake boards we're gonna make it,look like we're boarding up a window so,what I want to do here I don't want to,make any board over I'm gonna say oh my,goodness let's say 22 no let's say 20,inches can you tell us the flat seat of,my pants build so we're gonna do nothing,over 20 inches so I'm just gonna mark,this with a pencil here it's more of a,scribe line actually but we're just,gonna mark it there four inches up so,that we know this is our limit for the,20 inches we now need a series of boards,I'm thinking that are going to be two,and four inches in width so I'm gonna,just scribble some out on here at those,dimensions we don't want perfect edges,you'll want this to look rustic you want,it to look like they grab whatever,boards they could to seal up their,window quickly so we're just gonna kind,of Mark it on roughly and see how we,make out well mark these just a little,clearer with black marker here's our,four inch line and again you can see I'm,not too concerned about being straight,so we'll make the first one say two,inches so just about there and we're,just gonna vary it and vary,lines here on the edge and then we'll do,a four-inch one and we're going to keep,going like that,I want a variety of them and I'm going,to get them say I'm gonna do maybe ten,of them and see how we do at that point,I think that I'm going to put in a small,blade probably a 3/16 of an inch blade,or a quarter inch into the bandsaw and,we're gonna cut these out,now in some of these boards what I'm,going to do is I'm gonna cut like a V,out of them as if there's some checking,going on in the board so just in a,couple that I mean just random you don't,want them all to be the same and we can,cut those V grooves out of some of these,boards and then we can head back over to,the bench and now comes the fun part we,get to carve these out like like bark or,rough boards and you guys have seen me,do this before on the show for picture,frame textures and that sort of thing,and all I'm gonna do is just randomly,around this thing I'm going to carve,wood grain in it,and in not much time at all you have a,fake very lightweight styrofoam board,guys I don't know what to tell you at,this point other than to you know carry,on and shape all the rest of your boards,and that's what I'm gonna do I don't,think we need a video of it you see how,the process is it's very random and I,don't know I think it's pretty darn cool,I have a piece of black foam core board,and I'm just going to mark it off where,I want to cut it I'm thinking you know,that I might go 20 by 22 I think I would,be able to get away with that and it,would give me more room to work so yeah,let's do that let's do 20 by 22 so we'll,just mark it off here and using a sharp,exacto knife or a box cutter we're going,to cut this off to the size that we need,well we now just want to arrange our,boards in such a way that we're happy,with it to make it look like we've,boarded up this window because we don't,want of course those armies to be able,to come and get us so it'll be something,like this we want the black to show,through because there's other parts that,we want to add to that the problem here,is is that we can't leave these boards,these pinky purple so now it's time to,color our boards I'm just using just a,regular household primer and sealer all,in one now you know the kind of thing,you would use on new drywall and all I'm,gonna do is paint our fake boards white,to give us a base coat to add some color,now I will caution you that spray paints,or lacquer based paints will not work on,styrofoam in fact you will end up,melting your project so make sure it's a,water-based paint and once you're done,painting all your boards you can just,put them,side to dry well I have a thought where,there'll be skeleton hands coming out of,the window and all I've done is I've,gone online and I've googled images of,skeleton hand line drawings and one of,them that came up was this one and what,I'm going to do is I'm going to spray,this with spray adhesive and I'm going,to let it tack up for three minutes and,then I'm gonna rub it down on our board,remember you're gonna need a left and a,right hand what I want to do is I want,to draw a straight line right across the,bottom part of our hand now what that's,going to do is it's going to give us a,mounting point for all of these knuckles,here so we're just gonna draw this right,across just like that and that will be,our cut line and we're just gonna cut,the first set of knuckles I have a,number seven reverse tooth blade and as,I said we're gonna start off with this,lower section of knuckles,and now that you have that cut out you,want to cut each individual knuckle now,all the way along keeping them aligned,and then once you get all of those cut,we're gonna see you over at the bench,well here's the part that I'm really,looking forward to and what I'm gonna do,is I'm gonna carve these out with a,power Carver or a rotary tool dremel,tool or whatever you want to call it and,I'm going to make these in the shape of,bones,and there we go there's the back of the,hand pretty much done a little more,sanding is all it needs you don't have,to worry too too much about this area,here because it's going to be in behind,the foam you're really not going to see,it but beyond that you want to start,really shaping the bones so now we're,gonna take each bone now knuckle by,knuckle we're gonna remove the paper,pattern and in the same fashion as what,we did here with the rotary tool we're,gonna shape each bone and then put it,back in place on the hand and then move,on to the next one so this bone here is,going to end up attaching onto here so,we will continue to shape all the bones,until the entire hand is done I'm not,going to bore you with a video of that,you've seen the process I use the power,Carver to take down and hog out the,majority of the material and then the,rest is all just patient and careful and,safe the shaping and hand sanding well,as I'm shaping these bones I'm also,contouring the edges so that when they,go together you can see there that,they're on a different angle can you see,that they're kind of pointing down so,eventually it's going to be kind of like,this we don't want it to be too drastic,but just enough to give a little bit of,shape so it's not so flat I want to,drill a 3/32 inch hole in each one of,these knuckles and I want to glue in a,dowel for extra strength,and you can see how that's gonna work it,a little bit of the angle here for the,hand and that'll glue right on there,perfectly I think that's gonna look just,great so I'm gonna continue on drilling,all of these holes and you know what,I'll see you when I'm done and there we,have the first hand completed,I'll let the glue dry up on this and,then what I'm gonna do is give this a,good spray with some flat white spray,paint and then there's nothing left to,do with it,other than make a second one I've got,some crafters paint and this is just,like acrylic craft paint poster paint,whatever you want to call it and what,I'm gonna do is I'm gonna try to almost,dry brush it through this we don't want,a lot of color on here I don't want the,board to look painted and I'm okay with,it if a little bit of the white shows,through almost like it's been,whitewashed but worn off so I'm just,gonna get a little cup to put some of,this paint in and I'm gonna show you the,technique I'm gonna use to try to get,this painted so we're just gonna start,here and we want to kind of brush it on,the tops of the wood we're kind of going,along with the grain here we don't want,a lot of color we don't want it to look,like it's a painted board sort of thing,so just a little bit of color so carry,on with this until you get the board's,painted well the next thing that I want,to do is add a little bit of shadow to,this and we're going to do that with a,little bit of black poster paint as well,and we're just going to come in to each,of the carbs sections and I'm just gonna,add some black in there now we're just,trying to to give contrast basically,between the brown and the deeper areas,and the white so you don't again want to,really paint those areas we're just kind,of filling in the gaps I guess is what,we're doing just like this well I've,decided that I don't really like all,those white spots in there so what I've,done is I've gone back over it with the,brown paint just very lightly allowing,the shadows of the black to show through,and filling in those white areas and you,end up with something that looks like,this so now that I have it somewhat the,way that I like it I may change a little,more either way I'm going to complete,all of the painting of the boards and,with all of those boards painted we're,gonna turn our attention back to our,skeleton hands,now while the skeleton hands look great,I think they could look a little better,so what we're gonna do is take a little,bit of black and I've got one of my old,sketches here from one of another one of,the other shows and we want to take,almost all of the paint off of the brush,and then we're just going to basically,dirty up,the bones just a little we're gonna give,them not really shadows but we want them,to look a little bit worn you know just,like that you don't want a lot of it,it's just a little bit just to sort of,give it a little bit of character see,what we're doing there just like that,and like I said it really doesn't take,much you want your brush almost dry just,like that can you see that it's you know,great that looks all right so we're,gonna do the exact same thing to our,other hand and then it's pretty much,time for assembly well I've actually cut,my board down about an inch shorter in,each direction and the reason for that,is that I want my fake board pieces to,be able to cover up the edges of our,foam core here so all we want to do to,start off with is we want to lay out our,boards in such a way so that we like the,arrangement you don't have to there's no,real set way to do it but we can sure,try to do it in some kind of a fashion,we're trying to frame out the window,here to make it look like a window so,here we have the frame and then I think,I said just imagine that you're nailing,these boards up in some kind of panic,trying to you know stop these the the,bad things from coming into your house,sort of speak so we just want to nail,these in place here and we also want to,remember to leave room for,our hands so I'm gonna play around with,the arrangement and once we get that,done we're going to glue everything in,place using foam board adhesive well,that's all the board's glued on and now,it's time to set our hands in place and,what I'm going to do for that is I want,to drill two screw holes in the bottom,of each hand you want to try to align,them with the finger to get more,strength we're going to use a number six,screw but first we're going to drill a,couple little pilot holes insert a,little dowel mark or line up where we,want our hands and then punch it into,our foam core so that we can mark where,our hands go once we get that done I'm,going to drill the pilot holes that we,need for the proper size I'm gonna drill,the pilot holes in the back of the foam,cord just to keep it nice and neat and,clean and then we're going to use a,small little piece of board on the back,to support it and use a couple number,six screws and some washers to screw it,in from behind I've drilled my two pilot,holes I'm just going to insert a couple,of temporary dowels here just like I,said that we're gonna line up our hand,where we want it and once we get it in,place we'll just gently push down and,Mark our holes now there they are right,there,just take those dowels out and that will,be where our pilot holes get drilled,well I have a piece of one-eighth of an,inch thick hard board and all I've done,is cut it to one inch wide by three,inches long I've drilled holes in it to,mimic the same holes that we just,finished punching in both our foam core,and our pilot holes that are in our hand,and we'll just pop these screws through,and then screw our hand in place just,like that so use the same process to,mount your other hand now and I think,the last thing that I'd like to do for,this project is I would like to add some,nails and for that I think I'm gonna use,shingle nails and I may just push them,right through but I'll add a little bit,of the styrofoam adhesive just to make,sure that they hold in place like they,don't pop out so let's get some of those,installed so it's just a little,embellishment you may or may not want to,put that on yours but I'm gonna go,around and finish this off and I'll see,you when I'm done and there you have it,a Halloween door decoration easy,Halloween decoration Oh what I said they,see hollow hollow down okay a spooky,Halloween decoration guys oh my goodness,what a load of fun this is between the,power carving on the styrofoam and,shaping that and the painting and the,gluing and the carving and the putting,it all together and then getting that,holy crap hugs really good factor guys,it's a load of fun it actually took me,more than two full days to make this the,hands themselves the carving of those,skeletal hands took an extensive amount,of time but I enjoyed absolutely every,second of it it was absolutely fantastic,now you can cut these bones out on the,scroll saw and just leave them sharp,edges if you're not into the carving,thing that works too I think we have to,remember what the whole purpose of,Halloween is and that is to have fun and,that is the main purpose of doing this,project is to have fun and then,displayed at your house and share the,fun that you have with others which,makes it fun for them guys I want to,thank you so much for tuning in this,week something so these are reasons you need to dress,that food away like I have so to make,your window cobweb first of all you need,to take a black bin liner and a pair of,scissors you just need to cut the top,and bottom off of your bin liner if you,save this stripped of plastic you can,use those at the end to attach your,cobwebs together you will then be left,with two squares is take one of these,squares and fold it in half diagonally,in half again and then in half again you,don't need to stop cutting your cobweb,into the cobweb shape so make sure,you leave a spoke coming up from the,center of the cobweb and then cut the,cobweb strands and keep cutting strands,until you get to the end of your bin,back and then your cobweb is done you,just need to unfold your cobweb and then,make a few more and stick them to the,window so do you make your spooky,Halloween tea light holders who you need,to do is get some of this spooky orange,web so you just need to grab a little,bit pull it apart the string here is the,easier it is to work with and just wrap,it around your jam jar I'm off any,excess once you finish doing that you,then just need to attach your spiders up,and pop in your LED TV light please,please please if you make these at home,and make sure that you use LED,taillights because this strain yourself,highly flammable,to make your bat decorations you just,need to take a piece of black card and,fold it in half,don't take your template I just made,this one out of cardboard so you just,throw around the template so I'm just,going to cut out the line of his name,and then you have it unfold it and you,have your flying bath take it away that,won't you and just cut out too evil eye,holes because you've done that you just,need to activate your glow stick keep it,behind the eyes and then once you put it,outside in the dark it will glow
