next clue near the,bathroom door,which bathroom is there,i don't know you figure it out,dad you go look at that one,okay,bathroom door look everywhere you guys,bathroom door means here right,you guys are passing up the bathroom,door,you guys are not good with clues,where is it,oh,oh father ryan it's right here,yeah,bathroom door,pigs say,wink,cow say moo,the next clue is on the bottom,of your,shoe,keeping it up,it's my bottom,it's time to eat,where,there's,ice cream,is your next treat,in the freezer,you're doing great to find,your last treat,the last clue is hiding with,things,to A Spooktacular Halloween Scavenger Hunt 2020

three three three three three,three three,autumn is dressed up as eleven this is,gonna be her halloween costume,and colin is gonna be the demogorgon,well we're gonna carve some pumpkins and,then,we'll see what happens from there,and here is the aftermath of our pumpkin,why did you say it like oh i don't know,here's daddy's pumpkin i like the little,one,mommy it was mommy's idea to put the,little eyeballs in there,because this pumpkin is deathly afraid,of,what's happening the zombie pumpkin,check that thing out holy mackerel i,love,the brain and the zombie eyes and the,wow,this is autumn's over here actually,daddy did it well,autumn emptied the whole thing out for,me she did really good and then i ended,up,carving she wanted jack so i i tried,and then colin's very first pumpkin ever,without zero help that,is absolutely amazing dude,that is absolutely amazing man i'm so,proud of you good job let's light these,babies up,shall we wow i like how the brain glows,they look really i do too that brain,glowing like that looks so cool i,noticed this little,toothpick that's in here,that's okay but look how close you are,if you're not that close then you won't,be able to see the a trampoline for sure so it looks,like it's somewhere,red color oh it's on that side,oh yeah,all right do we see anything,there's is there a balloon out here what,the heck is a balloon doing out here,wait what what what oh my god what,these things what are they i don't,understand,pens oh flowers,oh my god there's a clue another clue,number six,oh my gosh,i don't know who did all this around the,house,like the halloween elves or something,it's too scary what there hasn't been,one scary thing yet autumn,after all the messes we have made on,this halloween day costumes,must go home to be washed and put away,till next year,it's in the water,oh,i think dirty clothes normally go in the,dirty clothes campers right yeah i think,so,but nothing's here,a drone yes oh dude and that was our,halloween,scavenger hunt what did you get autumn,would you guess,let's see oh what is this stuff here,oh more of those things yeah,we actually got some people look at this,pretty amazed yeah stay trick-or-treaters yeah,we've probably had about 20 all night,i'm actually kind of happy there weren't,that many trick-or-treaters because that,means that everybody opted,to stay home and to stay safe and that's,awesome,and we have a tuckered out little girl,right here,she worked really hard finding clues and,getting prizes,and eating candy and making,making candied apples having a foam,fight,it's are you looking for something fun that,you can do with your children or,together as a family well today I want,to show you how easy it is to put,together a scavenger hunt fun for all,the family hi and welcome to learning,life thank you so much for joining me,today and hey if you like these videos,why not subscribe like us give us a,thumbs up tell your friends and why not,check out some of my other videos like,do-it-yourself play houses or French,knitting or just even some other fun,parenting ones because my heart here is,really to help you well you stuck at,home because of a worldwide pandemic or,because it's just a whole lot of rainy,days are you just really looking for,something fun that you can do and,together outside well today I want to,talk about scavenger hunts these are,something that are so much fun and so,easy to make you know you can google and,you can look up and there's some great,lists out there they really are and some,great ideas but you know what I think,it's really just easy enough to make,your own and this is really great,because then you can do it based on your,children and their ages let's have a,look at younger children,my girls are five and I often make us,scavenger hunt list from inside or,weather outside I look around and what,do I have I'll create a list actually at,Christmas together as a family we put,together a list of our Christmas,decorations that we wanted to see when,we went out driving and looking at the,lights and that was fun just going and,checking off our list sometimes we'll do,it at home and oh big shock Makayla uses,this as a learning tool so I often focus,like on colors and numbers maybe even,sort of make it like a bit of a chore,thing especially if they can't find,something and so when you're around the,house it could be simple things like,find me something that is blue or find,me a book that has the word and in the,title or if I'm near food that starts,with the letter S all of these things,just really easy to do and you can,create your list or draw the pictures,whatever it is sometimes it's just,easier that you have the list and then,they find it come back and get the next,thing on the list to do outside is,always great and I do it based on where,we're going to be is it the backyard are,we going to go for a walk in our,backyard it's something like find me a,really long stick find me a beautiful,leaf can you find an insect we're going,through a walk we often look for letters,and numbers like house numbers and the,letters on the license plates of the,cars always always good and easy and,it's a lot of fun we do it at the shops,to find me something that's orange find,me a big number two on the signs so we,just have fun with that for children it,really just is easy and then you know,what we get to the older kids and we,just bump up the difficulty you know,this is great I actually love using,scavenger hunts with older kids to a,used to do it when I was teaching youth,camps I was always the one that tried to,make it a little bit tricky you know,they're a big fun game but you can also,be using it as I said as learning tools,you can do online scavenger hunts where,you'd get them to try to find different,things I like to write our clues as,riddles for things that they can then go,and find you can do it like at an art,gallery and have a list of things that,they need to find the art gallery again,what is outside if you're going on a,nature walk let them use their phones,and take pictures of the things that you,need to see if you don't want them to be,collecting things I like to give,measuring tapes and be like buying me a,tree that has a circumference of 15,inches because you know what let's just,not make it a stick you know find me a,branch that is you know 22 inches or a,stick that is three inches it's always a,lot of fun and it's great if you have,older children yourself get them to,write lists for each other um super easy,and fun to do if you have a larger group,do it as teams,well isn't a little thing about me I am,the type of person when it comes to,teams I like my teams to work together,and I have been known to actually,get string and tie teams together at,their wrists so they have to stay,together as a team that's my little tip,if you want it to last longer and make,sure that they're getting on well as a,team and so these are things that aren't,you can be doing you know as a family,take your phones go out like take photos,of the things that you find go to an art,gallery have a list of things that you,want to see the aquarium the zoo,wherever it is that you want to go so,this is how easy it is make your list,provide a pen to check it off a bag to,collect things or the phone or whatever,it is and a prize if you also want to be,that person here's just a couple of,quick little samples that I sort of,whipped up for younger kids yep find,something read find something green,something blue really super easy,honestly it took me less than two,minutes so here's one that I just did,here as as little riddles I tried them,out on my girls to see but I live in the,ground I wiggle and squirm can you find,me I am a you can just easily put it,together it can be a list it can be eye,directions about how to get there a,scavenger hunt it's just about that,looking and that finding you know break,yourself up into teams as a family How To Make An Epic Halloween Treasure Hunt

I have left you, a Mystery Box a secret so rare, is not easy to unlock,a clue I'll give you, but shhh it's a secret a dangerous one, so you'll have to keep it,a secret code, unlocks this box the first number, you will find in a cup,among cups and mugs, squared and curved the number is hiding, where all drinks are served,Monsters! Monsters! Hurry we must fight! did you hear that noise? I think they're outside,Spirits and ghosts, will be haunting us soon who catches the most, in the living room,No number, was found in here but in my riddle, the answer will appear,1 witch fell off her broom 1 spider dropped down with caution,2 frogs jumped in with a splash how many are in the cauldron,A mysterious gift, for cracking the code my oldest wand, a secret road,a path unknown, under the moon where trees are tall, where shadows bloom,Watch out for the ghosts, and souls of the heartless a secret treasure, is hidden in darkness,no time to waste, while the night is blue in the garden, the stones will guide you,Hi everyone :) So I hope you are well and that you are having a great fall,So I decided to make this treasure hunt for my nephews this Halloween,and since they loved it so much, I thought I would share it with you,So if you wonder how to make this epic treasure hunt - let's go :),so first we're going to print the letters and dip them into some strong tea,to give them that old and mysterious look,once dry, they will look something like this,then just cut out the letters and roll them up,cut out the puzzle letter into small pieces,then it's time to make the numbers 3 and 1,so I just cut out some circles on this glitter paper,wrote the numbers,and then covered the back with another piece of glitter paper to complete the coin,so to create the Mystery Box you can use basically any type of box,if the box has a separate lid like this one, you can just add tape to one of the sides,to make a space for the lock, I just poked 2 holes and threaded a zip tie trough them,then I slit a hole in the lid, so that the zip tie can be threaded through the top part of the box,inside the Mystery Box we have a magical wand and for that I'm just using this cheap mini black light,then just cover it with some thick paper,and make sure to cut a hole for the on and off switch,then just paint the whole thing with acrylic paint,for the glowing stones, I simply found some stones in the garden,painted them white and then gave them a coat of florescent glow-in-the-dark paint,so for the punching cups, I'm just cutting out some circles of silk paper,fill one cup with the number 3 and cover the top with silk paper and some tape,then fill one cup with the first mini scroll,then just fill a bunch of cups with spiders, ghosts and other small Halloween props,that you might have laying around,use one of the cups as a template and cut out some holes in a large cardboard box,stuff the cups through the holes and we're done :),for the balloon monsters you will first need to place the number 1,and the second mini scroll in some airtight bags,this is important, since you want to hide them inside a balloon,it can be pretty damp inside and the moisture would otherwise destroy the paper,then just blow up a bunch of balloons draw on some monster faces and we're done,for the ghost-fishing, we're going to need some kind of Halloween prop,I chose this glow-in-the-dark bat but you can basically use anything,just tape on a magnet and thread some string around it,then just fasten it to a branch or a stick of some kind,for the ghosts, we're going to cut out some large circles of white silk paper,place a piece of paper underneath and draw on some cute or scary faces,then flip the paper,find another magnet and find the side that pulls towards the fishing rod,then place that side face down and tape it to the silk paper,scrunch up the sides and close with a piece of tape,hide your puzzle pieces inside some of the papers and then just make a bunch of ghosts,until the bottom of the box is full,so for the treasure, I first lined the bottom with some plastic,for protection against the moisture from the ground,then I threw in some tissue paper and various Halloween items like spider web,LED balloons,some glow-in-the-dark bats,spiders and some golden coins of course,some pirate eye patches and then of course the most important thing - candy :),now the only thing left to do, is to place the last scroll and the wand inside the Mystery Box,lock it with the combination 3-1-4 and hand over the first letter to your pirates,Thank you so much for watching, I wish you the best of luck and a Happy Halloween :)

Surprise Halloween Scavenger Hunt!!

is going to be all about halloween,i thought it'd be really fun if we could,decorate our house and also do a,scavenger hunt does that sound good yeah,okay,i know we've never done halloween,decorations i thought this would be,super fun for you guys yes,okay who wants the first clue,how about david reading oh yes halloween,is here so have a blast looking for,decorations to set up five the first one,is easy to spot look at a playhouse,built right hot,do you want to go,it's definitely the playhouse yes,of course we got trick-or-treating,buckets look we got some other clues you,got the clue wanna read it,you will find something,scary so be,quiet,quite,quite weary ready,look near the,device device,that warms food,the stove maybe,but we do have treats that we made,something that warms you,oh,oh my god do you guys want to put spider,webs around the house yeah,spider looks so cool i'm gonna put some,around the house the next item is found,somewhere cold so you must be very bold,oh and look where we keep things to,drink also underneath us,oh i think i know,oh,all right what'd you get michael did you,get a reason yep,someone might have done something,naughty,inside this blue room's potty go see,what they did and you'll see the next,item to help to help with our halloween,spree i think it's the powder room yeah,oh my god,did you see what was in the toilet,that's so funny,something orange like a pumpkin was,there michael what do you think,yes probably,yeah someone did do something naughty,time to head outdoors for something a,bit more look by the blue truck and hope,there's no bad luck,let's go see what it is,i think it's cool,climb this high white play thing,try not to waste time but spins on this,is way,up high the next item is nearby,go michael go,we've decoration oh,it's like the big christmas decorations,that we have but halloween yeah,inside this tiny house you will find,something else we've been assigned to,help us with our decor so we don't look,like halloween boards,tiny house,look at all the cabinets,let's see the next clue,we don't go here often because this,place could lead to a coffin the pool,pump has a clue,with items hidden just for you,do you like it michael the skeleton,your fun is almost true we have just one,clue left to do we play some serious,hoops nearby where the last clue all,is is your spy,you want to go first Megan Welch: And then talk about a few different things today.,Um,,Megan Welch: I want to kind of just talk about how we can make HALLOWEEN FUN. This year, both with projects and with some of the things that are available to you at Michael's that we have made for them. Um,,Megan Welch: The thing I do want to highlight is we're going to talk about the scavenger hunt that we have designed a bit because it's not the safest necessarily in all communities to trick or treat this year. Um, so we want to find some fun safe ways to do Halloween at your home or in your neighborhood.,Megan Welch: So the first thing I want to talk about is, of course, is Halloween. You want it to look like Halloween. So we have actually made a bunch of kits for their trunk or treat kits technically,Megan Welch: If you have trunk or treat in your neighborhood. You've seen it before. It's where people decorate their cars.,Megan Welch: Instead of having you come to their houses and you go car to car to trunk or treat. Instead of Trick or treat.,Megan Welch: It's pretty fun. I've actually done it with my car several times and the kids always get a ton of candy. If you can do it safely in your neighborhood or in a community that setting it up it's it's worth doing it. If you can do it safe and we make kits for it. I brought an example of one,Megan Welch: This is,Megan Welch: Our Halloween cat. I like this guy. I've always liked black cats. I had one for years. You can see it's set up in several pieces so you can just decorate your entire trunk area hatchback or sedans,Megan Welch: But what's great about this is this is just made of like a lightweight plastic it punch it out and I actually have it to on the wall right behind me. So if you don't,Megan Welch: Want to do trunk or treat that you still want to decorate. You can do it.,Megan Welch: Everything is in here if you want to put it on your car. There is some support so that you can get it to be nice and sturdy and like flat.,Megan Welch: All the adhesive is in here. Everything that you would need. You can put it on a wall like I did. If it's not going on your car. It can decorate the door of a classroom, pretty much anything you need. We have several others. I believe we have a haunted house a graveyard and,Megan Welch: A scope.,Megan Welch: That you can think about my goals in addition to my cat friend here.,Megan Welch: And ruined TALK ABOUT NOW THE SCAVENGER HUNT itself.,Megan Welch: We are going to make or I'm going to show you how to make this lovely bat chandelier mobile back here just because the more you can Halloween at your house, the better this year. Let's have especially, have some fun.,Megan Welch: But let's start crafting so the instruction sheet. Sheet specifically mentioned, I believe our scavenger hunt cards which you can download and print on white card stock. I recommend card stock over regular,Megan Welch: inkjet paper just because it's a little bit scarier. You're going to be manipulating it attaching it to other card stock. It's going to survive a lot better. Especially if you,Megan Welch: You know, have little hands that are going to be playing with the cards card stock is just going to give you a little bit more durability. Um, we do.,Megan Welch: did recommend using these products are jewel glitter paper pad. The Happy Halloween paper pad and the stickers here but you can use any of,Megan Welch: Our paper pads that fit the aesthetic you want for Halloween. I brought a few in here just to show you on because they're really fun.,Megan Welch: The Greenwich paper pad is super adorable. It's a much more earthy Halloween vibe. It's very green and gold and tan gorgeous.,Megan Welch: The hollow meanie pad is super, super adorable. It is just got all kinds of things you can use if you really want like a purposely Halloween.,Megan Welch: disguise it in our small varieties. We've got green, which again. And one of my favorites. The pink or blue pad. If you are someone that likes pastel Halloween. This is definitely the pad for you. These projects with look adorable in this color scheme, um,,Megan Welch: And this one I don't necessarily recommend this for the cards. It's a plastic x ray pad. It's super cool.,Megan Welch: You can see,Megan Welch: You can kind of,Megan Welch: Gives you that the way,Megan Welch: Each pad.,Megan Welch: Is see through it's plastic. I believe Emily's going to make some projects with that for our social media Emily's our marketing person.,Megan Welch: This is a really cool pad pick up at Michael's, you can do all kinds of things with it.,Megan Welch: And it lets you be pretty darn creative,Megan Welch: We've also got,Megan Welch: More sticker books. This goes really good with the pink or blue pen.,Megan Welch: And if you don't, I like bats. So I brought the bats in you don't like that. We've got a pumpkin. We've also got this really cool Haunted Mansion thing that I'm sure we could figure out all kinds of products with,Megan Welch: But you can find just about any product at Michael's that will personalize this to your needs are what you like for Halloween. This is just what I thought would be cute.,Megan Welch: So if you've got these downloaded. You can print them out, just like I did.,Megan Welch: If you're just watching me today, if you're going to do this later. That's totally fine this class will be available. I believe on Michaels calm within about 24 hours.,Megan Welch: So any steps you miss you can go back and watch if you just want to watch me now because you're like at work on lunch and you don't have your products with you. You can watch get a feel for the project and then obviously do it at your own leisure later watching the video.,Megan Welch: So we're going to start,Megan Welch: With a printed out sheets. I'm not going to show you how to make all 12 cards today. Just because after you get a few down. It's pretty straightforward, but,Megan Welch: We are going to go through some so it's pretty easy to begin with. You have a paper cutter at home.,Megan Welch: You can cut these out. Super easy. If you don't have a paper cutter, everything can be done with scissors. It just takes a little longer paper cutters are just a nice tool.,Megan Welch: For speeding things up and it gives you that nice crisp edge. As always, I don't know about you, but as much as I love using scissors. I can never get a straight of a line as I can with paper her so paper cutters for the whim.,Megan Welch: Make,Megan Welch: All kinds of crafting things for ref Smith.,Megan Welch: From all of our products kind of prototypes to sometimes things that go on social media. So I'm using crafting tools, all the time.,Megan Welch: And usually I have a huge paper cutter a US so it feels really weird to have the tiny like paper cutter for I'm not in danger of like losing my hand when I cut wrong.,Megan Welch: But,Megan Welch: Yeah.,Megan Welch: This is fun.,Megan Welch: It does take a little time to cut these guys out.,Megan Welch: If you don't like our clues say it doesn't perfectly correlate back to your house or if you just have way more ideas. You can of course make your own clues,Megan Welch: If you really want to, you could probably make some gorgeous cards to reuse again and again that you have letter, um,,Megan Welch: I would always recommend that because the more you can personalize Halloween this year the funder, it's going to be for the kids, I'm assuming that you're,Megan Welch: Going to send them a scavenger hunt. But I mean, doesn't have to be kids. You could, you know, do this with your roommates. That would be pretty fun to make it some pretty complicated clues. Some riddles.,Megan Welch: That would be entertaining.,Megan Welch: I would love to do this with my nephews.,Megan Welch: They get to have a son.,Megan Welch: Okay, so the point of the scavenger hunt really,Megan Welch: Is obviously either you want to do a fun game at home for Halloween, or if it's just not safe to go out in your neighborhood right now.,Megan Welch: You can have a, you know, kind of Halloween alternative. So that whole thing doesn't get taken away from from us because of a having to quarantine in our homes this year.,Megan Welch: So these clues, they're really cute.,Megan Welch: It's just, they're very Halloween themed along with being printed in orange and black you know jack o' lanterns grinning bright, which is writing in the night, and when the dark gives you a fright. Where do you turn off the lights.,Megan Welch: So the whoever's doing the scavenger hunt your kiddos. They would read the clue, or you would read it to them if they're too little.,Megan Welch: And they would figure out what the clue means, and then they're going to run off, hopefully, and when, if they find the flu correctly, they're going to find some candy there. Now the one thing I will recommend just because I come from a family of three kiddos is that,Megan Welch: Perhaps either hiding candy for all three kids there or even you can color code. These what we're going to do so that you have a set through each kid, maybe with different clues. Because I mean, my brothers.,Megan Welch: Once two years older than me ones. Five years younger than me, like, depending on how old we were, it could get kind of competitive and, you know,,Megan Welch: No one wants to accidentally end up in the ER on Halloween.,Megan Welch: So I just cheated and I wrote down my sizes. So, you know, so our cards. We're going to stack these up like this, our clue cards are the smallest size here.,Megan Welch: Our next step up. We're going to make,Megan Welch: Four and a half by three and a half inches. And our final size is going to be five by four. So you're going to get this nice kind of layered effects. These will be nice and sturdy and also be super cute so you can keep,Megan Welch: Because if your kids are like, my nephew's they're going to want to play this over and over again, even after they found all the candy. So,Megan Welch: Grab whichever paper pads, you're going to use. In this case, I'm going to go to our eight by eight pad. The happy homie pad and I'm going to pick a sheet out of there.,Megan Welch: I forgot to take the seals off before I started today.,Megan Welch: You want to choose something that's kind of gotten all over pattern like you wouldn't really want this, because while this is an adorable sheet of paper.,Megan Welch: We are going to be putting something on top of it. So you're going to be losing a ton of that.,Megan Welch: Adorable central and this year so that one wouldn't necessarily be able to assist two sided. We could do the spider web. We can do the cool little skulls. Ooh, there's a lot of cool spider webs in here. I think I'm going to go because I am someone fan.,Megan Welch: We're going to go with the pumpkins for my first part here.,Megan Welch: And other side is a nice cool Halloween a buffalo cloud. If you're a buffalo plaid fan, so we need to get this down to four and a half by three and a half or fairly close if you want to change the sizes up that is totally up to you, you are more than welcome.,Megan Welch: Which way to use this,Megan Welch: Okay.,Megan Welch: Three and a half is right about there on my favorite cutter.,Megan Welch: I did not do a great cut, even with different cutter. It's okay. I got a jacket. He edge. We just want us that part.,Megan Welch: Four and a half.,Megan Welch: Cutter only goes up.,Megan Welch: My cheat my credit really goes up three inches. So for now, it looks like we'll be,Out there.,Megan Welch: Hey, I guess, pretty accurately.,Megan Welch: Good for me.,Megan Welch: I'm going to cut a few pages at a time, just because that's going to make it easier. So we've got our pumpkins.,Megan Welch: Ooh, I like this get reading is this guy.,Megan Welch: Orange.,Megan Welch: Part of any craft project is always the prep once you start assembling things they usually go super quick. But the prep in what make you wish that you could just be like, I Dream of Jeannie and snap your fingers and it would all happen.,Megan Welch: The traditional Halloween orange and black color scheme or do you have something that you like specifically for your house. I'm always curious about that you always see really cute things that people do at home that I would never think of doing at home.,Megan Welch: Like one of my friends has I think she actually thought the Christmas tree. The Halloween like lighted ceramic Christmas tree that is sold at Michael's I've cut that wrong. That is square,Megan Welch: Which side do I need to fix. Okay.,Megan Welch: He's no I'll pick up on clues,Megan Welch: Now I need to choose some Blair, because life is better with a little glitter.,Megan Welch: I have a friend that literally carries glitter around in her purse, so that when she needs to she can just pull it out and glitter someone's day. It's always a surprise when she meets someone for the first time, and does that,Megan Welch: I like purple this jewel paper pad has a gorgeous purple glitter in it. I highly recommend it. But this whole pad.,Megan Welch: Is just the most beautiful jewel tones glitters and I highly recommend going out and picking this up. Today, I'm going to use the gold and the purple because that feels the most Halloween.,Megan Welch: To me, at least. But if you have a color scheme that works for you. I mentioned doing it.,Megan Welch: Because, again, this is about what you want for Halloween. So, have some fun, be creative, because what's the point if you're not having some fun.,Megan Welch: Apparently my paper cutter and,Megan Welch: So you can fairly accurately say that's probably about five,Megan Welch: Doesn't have to be exact. Yes, I wrote down measurements, but at the end of the day, as long as it looks good. No one's gonna pull out a ruler and see that you were off by age, you know,,Megan Welch: We're not building a house.,Megan Welch: If you have questions, by the way, please feel free to ask someone who can relay your questions to me.,Megan Welch: There is a little bit tougher to cut through the noise card stock. But this honestly still does it just fine. You can see so you don't necessarily need a giant cutter to make this project happen.,Megan Welch: Alright, so I have got my show you how to make four cards just because the shade of nickel 12 it's going to get really repetitive and no one wants to sit here and watch me do the exact same thing for an hour, like, you know,,Megan Welch: We're all intelligent people we can figure it out.,Megan Welch: Alright, so now I just kind of want to match up things that I think look good with the color. Well, I do think the orange and there's fun. I actually really liked the orange with the gold some stick with that.,Lead to that.,Megan Welch: And you can play around,Megan Welch: To make the color scheme work for you.,Megan Welch: Like I said, there's, you know, if you have a particular color you really love for Halloween use it.,Megan Welch: If you don't like the glitter for whatever reason. I mean, it stays pretty on the paper. I mean, like any glitter. You're going to get a little on you, but if you're just super anti glitter because you don't want all over things,Megan Welch: You can find something else to do. But like I said, this is actually a glitter that stays really well. Like, you can see my hands are not sparkling and, you know,,Megan Welch: Glitter spreads. So the fact that my hands are still this clean is pretty good.,Megan Welch: All right.,Megan Welch: I think I like that, um, the yellow and moon in here, brings out the gold, a little bit. This looks fun on the purple. The orange super popping on that purple some I'll leave it.,Megan Welch: So we're going to go ahead and start with attaching these to this. You can use any adhesive you like I have got this cool little he's a roller. I'm going to use. Um, you could even probably just get away with doing double stick tape that will work just fine as well.,Megan Welch: As I say, that never stops.,Megan Welch: No, see the guts of my roller,Megan Welch: This,Wants to,Megan Welch: See if I can just dream again.,Megan Welch: I love this roller. But when I get too enthusiastic with it, it starts to complain.,Oh,,Megan Welch: There we go. And I'm just gonna put you know what we're gonna switch. I think I have double sided tape but we're here.,Megan Welch: I do,Megan Welch: All right.,Megan Welch: So I'm just gonna put a lot of adhesive on this mainly because again this is intended to be held a little hands.,Megan Welch: Or just hands in general. So you don't want it to start loosening up as,Megan Welch: It is being run around the house with,Megan Welch: To smooth it down really good so you make sure that all your piece of points actually stick to the glitter on since the glitter is a little bit of a a,Megan Welch: rougher medium. It's not smooth like the card stock. We want to make sure that it's going to stick. So you're going to get your background on there and then choose your clue.,Megan Welch: And I like to kind of see if I can match them up a little bit theme it up a little bit like this one's about jack o' lantern. So I'll probably put it on there. I'm,Megan Welch: Creepy looks might go with their,Megan Welch: ghosts and goblins kind of feels like it goes with skulls.,Megan Welch: And so let's put you've been chosen to play. Come on, let's go your fleet of your first clue is hidden where things grow.,Megan Welch: I don't actually know where this clue would be,Megan Welch: I'm assuming a planter.,Megan Welch: I don't do plants at my house because I tend to not have a green thumb.,Megan Welch: I can keep a dog and a cat alive. I cannot keep a plan, a life.,Megan Welch: I've always assumed. That's because the dog can remind me, it's there.,Megan Welch: Alright, so you're just going to take your clue.,Megan Welch: Centered as much as you can on there. I didn't do a perfect job putting this out. I need a little more practice with that paper cutter. But, uh, I mean if I really wanted to clean up with scissors.,Megan Welch: Or just cut it again because you're printing this at home. So you have all kinds of,Megan Welch: Access to just do it again and again until you get it, you can kind of see the scale. I mean, I've, I've got kind of small hands.,Megan Welch: On and it's it's nice in my hand. You can see, you know, a kid holding this getting excited about it. One thing I've debated doing before, depending how you want to run your scavenger hunt.,Megan Welch: You can always double side this and put a color on the back so that the clues are kind of laid out in a grid and the kids come and flip them over. And that's how they get their clue.,Megan Welch: You can do that for you can just hand the kids the card or even hide the card.,Megan Welch: The next card. The next clue card with each hiding place so that when they find their candy. THEY GET THE NEXT CLUE TO GO. YOU CAN REALLY structure. This however you want. Whatever you think is going to be fun for your participants.,Megan Welch: And like I said, hey, if you want to do this with roommates and still your kids go for it. I think that would be really fun.,Megan Welch: I do ask if any of you make these if you do it on Halloween or make them advanced whenever you do it. I think that looks really cool.,Megan Welch: And if you're like me you like Halloween pumpkins and went to Trader Joe's over the weekend and bought way too many little miniature pelicans and pumpkin things. Think food.,Megan Welch: And I've already made from Michael's several of the film pumpkins.,Megan Welch: And I'm probably just going to keep adding more holiday projects to my list every time I go back to Michael's so it's fun.,Megan Welch: I mean, we have a lot of time to be creative right now.,Megan Welch: And like I like to tell people being creative isn't about how good you think you are, it's just about practice and having fun. As long as you have fun doing it.,Megan Welch: It's worth doing it, it doesn't have to look perfect.,So got that on there.,Megan Welch: Grey spider web is kind of cool to,Megan Welch: ever gonna stick with our schools because I like the skills.,Megan Welch: Personalize these,Megan Welch: Like I said before, so you can see I've got my cards here if you want to stop here. You can, um, but I like our sticker books I want to take just some stickers here and there.,Megan Welch: And add them to my little cards so that they kind of bring some stuff in. So again,,Megan Welch: You can shop in person at Michael's or you can go Michael's calm, um, sometimes for seasonal things, it's a little bit easier if you can, to go into the store.,Megan Welch: Just because they have the whole season all set up and you can see all kinds of things to grab,Megan Welch: Oh my God, look how cute these little,Megan Welch: Little skills are so we're definitely going to take some of these,Megan Welch: And just start adorning,Megan Welch: Read, one of the stickers. It's cute.,Megan Welch: Oh, there's even a little alphabet. That's adorable.,Megan Welch: I see all of these in like development. So it's really cute to finally see the final product made. I'm gonna go back to the skeletons. I like little skeletons. We're going to use this guy.,Megan Welch: So he has a little Park between his legs, he can. I can punch out. I'm not gonna,Megan Welch: But I chose this guy versus the other skeleton, just because he's going on the left side of the card, but he's pointing in words, I'm excited. I travel a little bit. It looks cute see,Megan Welch: All right, let's see if we can find something that goes to spider webs. I'm sure we can because it is Halloween.,Goodness.,Megan Welch: So here we go.,Megan Welch: You can add more more stickers you can add stickers from different sticker books, whatever works for you. I'm just kind of going minimal on the stickers, because I don't want to over crowd the paper. I really like the patterns.,Megan Welch: You can have kiddos do this project with you just, you know, if you want them to,Megan Welch: Be a little bit more surprised where you're going to hide the candy. You might want to,Megan Welch: Hide the clues from them, they're going to see the clues. If you do this. So, this can always be the adult craft project just until it's ready to play with. But I'm always an advocate of a letting kids help you craft, just because the more,Megan Welch: Especially when they're little, the more they can do with their hands, the better their skills will get in terms of dexterity.,Megan Welch: So anytime you can have little hands help you safely. It's a good idea.,It's something else.,Megan Welch: Can kind of look at things sometimes until it needs more so if you want to add more and more,Megan Welch: Need something there. It's a problem that you start adding and then you just keep adding,Megan Welch: Alright, so you can see these came together really quickly, including with the prep work we you can really do whatever you want. I've got,Megan Welch: All the clues here that we made in advance so you can have really a customized experience, however you want. If you're not into purple and gold. Make your own Halloween color scheme that's going to be adorable but,Megan Welch: This is really the scavenger hunt. And like I said, Please, please, please, if you make these if you guys do this on Halloween. So this is an idea came up with.,Megan Welch: With the help of some of our artists. Here we are going to use,Megan Welch: This paper pad. Odds are, it'll probably work for you if you don't own a diet cutter. First of all, I started playing with them for this class. They are a lot of fun.,Megan Welch: So I highly recommend getting one. Um, we make all kinds of dyes for the various holidays so please use them. They are so much fun.,Megan Welch: And such different such fun shapes and so much easier than coming out of stencils especially if you're going to do something like the chandelier, where you have to cut out a ton of things.,Megan Welch: Right.,Megan Welch: If you don't have the ability to do a delicate. You can of course cut these out by hand. These are not super meant to be a stencil, but I'm sure you can figure out a way or you can find a fun Halloween stencil that you like and go ahead and use that,Megan Welch: So we're going to start our project. It's very easy. You need the baptize,Megan Welch: Paper pad. Again, you can use any paper pad. You like I just really liked this one because I thought it gave it a nice translucent.,Megan Welch: vibe that would look fun I'm,Megan Welch: Sorry, I'm really bad at taking the seals off my packages are off my products before you,Megan Welch: Give me a second.,Megan Welch: There we go.,Megan Welch: Alright, so you mean. Okay.,Megan Welch: Paper pad. If your choice. This would look super cute done in glitters or in a pattern paper. But again, I just really thought these were super cool. And if they get light behind them somehow they're gonna look really fun because they're going to be loosened,Megan Welch: And then you can use it hoop size of your choice. This is just an embroidery hoop. We have the 12 inch just because it's going to hang. And that'll give you a nice. I mean, you can see it in reference to my coffee cup here. It's going to give you a really nice circumference,Megan Welch: So you're going to use that,Megan Welch: And then you'll just need a whole bunch of some point,Megan Welch: And,Megan Welch: Some Baker's twine and I've got some ribbon to kind of hide the hoop. And if it does, pinch that point.,Megan Welch: Then make a loop around your finger.,Megan Welch: And we're going to tie it there.,Megan Welch: And that is how you just made your nice little hanging apparatus for your chandelier, which is honestly the hardest part.,Megan Welch: Going to set that aside.,Megan Welch: I'm only going to do a couple of strands, because it's just what we have time for today.,Megan Welch: But I made my streams each,Megan Welch: With the sizes of bad. Clearly, we don't have to punch any holes in the sky. But these two, we need to, if you are not into punching holes on these,Megan Welch: You can use tape but it's going to end up showing and as the bats like twist around,Megan Welch: It's going to show and I just didn't want that. That's why I punch the holes, you're going to choose two areas one at the top, one at the bottom of your bat.,Megan Welch: to punch a hole in it does not have to be equally in the middle of some of them. I even punched like punching one wing,Megan Welch: And then I'll punch in the other wing because depending where we put our holes depends our backs going ahead and I kind of wanted it to be imperfect and wonky and just go a little bit of everyone can see you. This is one of our pages that makes it pretty cool that,Megan Welch: He doesn't need holes.,Megan Welch: This must have been like school or something. It's pretty cool.,Megan Welch: As far as I can tell, there's really no right and wrong side to develop so,Megan Welch: How every want to do this is fine. And that's also good because it means that as these twist in the breeze, a little bit and the airflow that uh how it twists is perfectly fine. You're not going to be showing like one side of the paper that shouldn't be shown,Megan Welch: The links between bats. It really doesn't super matter, um, might just matter how to vertical space, you have to show this off. I did mine. I think about three or four inches between each bat my one example.,Megan Welch: But,Megan Welch: Again, we have a ton of vertical space behind me doing this if you have less, you know, go for it. This is probably about,Megan Welch: Probably about 10 inches or so that I just could,Megan Welch: I tend to do a lot of things right guesstimate sizes because again we're crafting we're not building a house. So for the most part, it does not have to be perfect. And I'm just cutting a bunch of this at once.,Megan Welch: Because PrEP is always the part that takes the longest,Megan Welch: Like I said, I made my strands with a bad of each size.,Megan Welch: So, you know, start,Megan Welch: Reading through your whole,Megan Welch: If you can tie a really cute bow. Then you maybe don't need to cut your ends later. I've never been great at time to bow. So these I would go and cut off later.,Megan Welch: Keep the first tail on your big bat the longest because this is going to be the tail that we attached to the chandelier. And that just gives you more leeway to wrap,Megan Welch: Put this through here.,Megan Welch: You can see I'm just trying. Super simple, not,Megan Welch: As long as you're careful. You're not gonna, you know, pull through your whole,Megan Welch: If I tie this guy down here. He's going to be super far away from that bat, which might be fine. I want him to be a little bit closer. So I'm going to bring him up about halfway on the string.,Megan Welch: It just means I have more tail to cut off, but it makes it easier to tie by giving yourself some of that leeway.,Megan Welch: And I'll show you. Just so you can,See,Megan Welch: Once you start cutting tails off.,Megan Welch: It gets pretty deep.,Megan Welch: So we're going to go into the bottom now.,Megan Welch: only got a few more minutes left, guys, but I swear to you. This is super easy once you learn how to tie one Garland tear one strand. You can do all that's the nice thing about a project like this, it is just repetition and repetition and repetition until you get to the end.,Megan Welch: So,,Megan Welch: Let's see.,Megan Welch: Let's put him,Megan Welch: Out there.,Megan Welch: And you can have all kinds of lengths, if at the end, we'll go back to the wide shots that you can see my chandelier behind me.,Megan Welch: And you'll be able to tell that I have all kinds of links in my BAPS I have done all kinds of a different whole positions so that you can see that a,Megan Welch: Where you put the holes will just depend how they hang and how long your strand is so that is one finished strand. You're literally going to do that for the rest of your strands. However, many want,Megan Welch: Super simple, like I said,,Megan Welch: catch this guy. You have two options.,Megan Welch: Can see,Megan Welch: He's going to get some nice hang there you can do exactly what you did before. I'm going to wrap him a little extra,Megan Welch: And tie it on here.,Megan Welch: Or if you don't feel confident in your ability to tie. Good. Not that will stay on this guy.,Megan Welch: You can literally put a beat a hot glue on there and then stick your string in and just get it to stay. I have done that before as well. I'm actually believe I did that on the sample that is behind me.,Megan Welch: So that's going to be on there.,Megan Welch: But back to front facing,Megan Welch: Alright, so I wanted to be able to show you that he's going to hang. Just like that, you're going to repeat that for as many streams as you want to around the outside. See how I gave it let me get the tail out of the way.,Megan Welch: By depending where I put the holes. Just depends how these guys hang. And I could have them all hang yeah nice, normal like that. But it's kind of fun. It gives them a little more movement.,Megan Welch: To put the holes different areas, you are going to get, like I said your strings around here. If you have a cool fun Halloween ribbon that you want.,Megan Welch: Take some hot glue attach it there. You can see we turned ours black. We just did that with ribbon and hot glue for you find the right length. Like I said, this is a three eight,Megan Welch: Which is just about the perfect size for the width of this and you're going to get cover that super easy, it'll cover all of your ends are all of all of your strings, where they attached,Megan Welch: If you are creative with boschi tape. You might be able to use washy tape to cover this or if you have some other from way to do it. I mentioned also you could just turn this into a wall hanging,Megan Welch: If you don't have a place to dangle it from your roof. You can literally just make it go vertical and you'll have all your bags coming down this way.,Megan Welch: So these are both super easy. Both the cards and the bat chandelier. It's just after you get the first steps down. It's the same thing all the way through until the end.,Megan Welch: But they look really cool and no one will know that they weren't super complicated.
