I Tried Every Iconic 1980s Look in 48 Hours | Glamour

I'm Steph and today I'm trying all the,most iconic looks from the 80s okay so I,have no style and I can never find,anything I like in stores but I always,wonder would that be the case if I grew,up in a different decade today I'm gonna,try on a bunch of different looks from,the 80s to see if I could finally find,my personal style since I clearly don't,know anything I've enlisted the help of,80s expert Montgomery Fraser okay we,could probably look at this camera now,Montgomery you are known as the image,group you've styled Madonna cher Duran,Duran for the fashion director of MTV in,the 80s and today you get to work with,me I'm excited I think we're gonna have,fun I've worked with a team of stylists,and we're gonna help you experience the,80s are you ready I'm ready let's go a,first look of the day 80s aerobics,aerobics blew up in the 80s largely due,to Jane Fonda's workout videos which,took the world by storm,it became the trendiest way to exercise,along with the colorful style that came,with it so for this look we have a,one-piece spandex unitard this is a,bodysuit that you put over this and,these are dayglo green leg warmers and,headband I guess tacky is what they were,going for they were going for,Expressionism okay they didn't want to,look dull this is definitely not dull No,be brave be brave,I love it okay let's complete the look,with Heron we're gonna enhance you,with a pop of blush because people like,to look healthy and for lips we're gonna,choose a bubblegum pink,to complete this look we're gonna flip,out your hair because Lauria Vanderbilt,who is an icon in the 80s had a blunt,cut flipped out okay so this look is,bright I guess I don't understand like,why you would get this done up for the,gym because I feel like you're gonna,sweat it off anyway can you imagine if I,showed up to like Planet Fitness wearing,this so to fully experience this look I,guess I have to get physical,I should probably look up some real,aerobics moves right,I just crushed the aerobics portion of,this it's actually really fun I feel,like the outfit and the color sort of,gave me confidence my hair was kept out,of my face because of the curl and the,headband which is literally so tight and,nothing could get through it my only,issue is I don't know how I would have,gone to the bathroom because this is not,coming off easily,so our next look is a tea schedule or,this look comfort was king but even when,people were just keeping things mellow,they weren't afraid to let a little,vibrant shine through we're gonna do an,oversized sweater with vibrant patterns,okay we're gonna pair it with a pair of,high-waisted acid-wash jeans with a peg,leg,peg leg because they gather at the,bottom and they have a little bit of a,stretch so let's get you changed,make up we're gonna start with a dusty,blue pale eyeshadow to mirror your,earrings which is going to contrast with,the dayglo colors in your sweater but,the eyebrows were going to give you a,Brooke Shields look for the lips we're,gonna give you a bold red lip and for,the hair we're gonna put it up in a,ponytail a little bit of an angle we're,gonna put scrunchies and it's gonna give,you that very kind of on-the-go wash and,wear kind of look,this looks sort of feels like something,I would maybe wear in my life now like I,kind of like the high-waisted jeans I,wear high waisted jeans all the time,sweater super comfortable a little bit,itchy I do love scrunchies but having,four of them on seems like a lot I like,this look but I don't really understand,how it could be casual so I guess I have,to go test it out and do some casual,things,let's get casual nice things taste,better upside down this look is actually,pretty rad for doing nothing it's big,it's comfortable I lunged around I think,I could definitely like hang out on my,bed and watch Netflix in it also even,though the makeup is a little bit,dramatic for just hanging around the,house it's good for taking selfies so I,don't hate it,what do we have next eighties business,baby,in the 80s the amount of women entering,the workplace was skyrocketing and they,were adapting their style to compete in,what had been a man's world for the,jacket we have a double-breasted blazer,men's tailored perfect I'm,double-breasted we're gonna pair it with,a herringbone vest very tailored very,elegant for the pants we're doing a,double pleated cuffed felt pant,that's very men's tailored they were,competing with men they had to look,powerful I love power yes yeah so let's,get to business all righty,so for this look we're gonna neutralize,your face we're going to line the eyes,with a dark brown or the lips we're,gonna do a wine Bordeaux color this will,add a little bit of drama for the hair,we're gonna slick it back very austere a,duality with femininity and masculinity,I feel powerful I could like demand a,raise I could march into my boss's,office and be like do you see these,shoulder pads they need more holiday,time I shadow is is settling and cool,the lips are super bold but I'm not sure,if they would like last after lunch I'm,actually only a few floors above my,office so I'm gonna go downstairs and,get down to business,this is my floor let's go,like I'm walking into a business meeting,you want to be afraid of you because I'm,your boss oh my god oh don't be a,if you feel comfortable all good but you,just,give me my reports by 5:00 p.m. so I'm,not giving you any reports,perfect,I got a lot of looks from my co-workers,but also a lot of compliments and,overall it was a very productive 15,minutes the hair is probably my favorite,part about this with my hair slicked,back like this I feel like I'm in charge,I feel like I'm not gonna take anything,from anyone it's just the ultimate power,move all right so we're done for the day,I got to go home but we're gonna pick,right back up tomorrow yesterday was,crazy I actually learned a lot about the,80s just through the styles that people,were wearing I was surprised at how,similar the styles were to what I,actually see in stores today and I'm,excited to get back to it so let's go,Steph are you ready to get started today,first up 80s prom prom night was,potentially the biggest night of an 80s,high schoolers life with movies like,pretty and pink bringing proms into the,spotlight everyone was more than excited,to show up and look their best the hair,and makeup is pretty intense we're gonna,get you in that first this whole look is,gonna be about tonality for the eye area,to keep it into ly Lux and plums for the,lips we're gonna do a plum color for,there we're gonna go big this was the,night to be as big as possible or your,dress we have a lovely fuchsia frock,we're hung in a frock on you it'll come,alive tulips sleeves influenced by the,runways of Europe and a lovely bow on,the bodice bows and Rose come on,Cinderella are you ready for the most,magical night of your life,what Montgomery said it was gonna be big,and it is the biggest I could fit a,family of five in these this is crazy I,feel like a Christmas present,okay so how are we gonna test out can we,take prom photos can we do that we're,taking prom photos the crew is setting,up a prom photo booth Russ my producer,Jeff promised to run home and get worse,suit so we're taking pics okay this is,good I don't know here's one two three,it's very tacky prom,you can't not look at me you know what I,mean because of the dress and the bow,takes up half of the photo this one's,kind of cute like I could do this one,this is spectacular tom was a dream,thank you Jeff for being my date not so,sure how applicable the hair is in my,everyday life the bow made me could come,in handy I don't know,warehouse rave like we could work with,the bow I really liked the eyes and lips,I like that they sort of match but are a,little bit of a different tone of purple,I would actually wear this eye shadow if,I was like going out with my friends,definitely the next look is a lot more,rock and roll than a lot edge here punk,punks we're all about rebellion and,going against mainstream culture,provoking society with their music,attitude and especially their looks we,have an asymmetrical fishnet mesh top,the skirt is a stretchy tight zebra,lycra miniskirt wait is it stretch here,as a type it's both and the vest is,leather very Joan Jett and it screams,punk rock are you ready to rock,I want you to look like you've been out,all night sweating we're gonna give you,a greasy smudgy smoky eye for the lip,we're gonna give you a very dark blue,for the hair it's going to be deep,purple a shredded shag all sweaty and,messed up,whoa this is drastically different from,the prom look it's dark lips kind of,good for snarling kind of like a I've,never worn dark lipstick before my teeth,look very white I mean there's a lot of,black on my face and we even put some,Vaseline I think to make me look greasy,even if I do get all sweaty like mocchi,and dancing all night that kind of adds,to the look and makes it that much,cooler punks are known for loving to,piss off their parents so I'm gonna call,my mom what what do you mean I'm hanging,out I need money,how do you feel about yeah wow that was,pretty good how'd you know that I wanted,to to call you and to piss you off,because that's what Punk's do to their,parents well guess I didn't accomplish,that but I do really need money though,yes I didn't really piss her off but I,definitely shocked her I should probably,call her back later make sure she's okay,I like the multi-necklace look but never,did I expect myself to wear a belt on my,neck I would wear this kind of makeup if,I was going to an event or like a rock,concert probably a little bit more,subdued than this but this definitely,isn't like an everyday casual look I'm,not gonna wear this on a Wednesday in,the office I believe there is one final,look you have for me,she's the quintessential 80s icon,Madonna you can't talk about the 80s,without bringing up the Queen of Pop,from material girl - like a prayer,Madonna not only set trends with her,music she also created countless looks,that inspired girls across the globe,we're gonna start this look with a lacy,teddy then we're gonna put a bustier,over the lacy Teddy to push up the,puppies Madonna used to wear a lot of,tutus so we're gonna put this over,everything else and to finish the look,this cropped bejeweled floral fringe,now let's get you into this material,girl,to really invoke Madonna we're going to,give you a smoldering bedroom I with a,very brushed eyebrow and the lip is,gonna be a pouty orange red we're not,gonna do any cheap because it was all,about the eyes and the lips especially,with an outfit like this but the hair,we're gonna do a kind of a scrunchie,wash and go kind of look and tie it to,one side crunch it up so it's very,Downton,whoa I really look like Madonna this is,crazy I'm wearing two different earrings,which I actually love that's like a,really cool idea gloves super chic this,lipstick is awesome I love how my eyes,and my lips are both accentuated and,everything else is sort of subtle if I,had time to scrunch my hair every day I,would definitely wear a bow in it this,looks really cool the only thing you can,do when you look like Madonna is make a,music video,that was so much fun,Madonna is an icon my hair held in place,the entire time I was dancing Thank You,hairspray while I wouldn't wear it,anywhere I'll admit the tutu did look,pretty good when I was dancing in,comparison to the other looks this one,took a much more subtle approach to the,cheeks which I really liked decided to,say this is my final 80s look but before,I go there is one last thing I have to,do Montgomery thank you so much I,literally would not have known where to,start without you,what a thrill to take you down memory,lane to the fabulous 80s and maybe you,can integrate some of the styles into,your everyday look so I've had some time,to think about it,and my favorite look from the 80s has,definitely got to be the comfortable big,sweater mom jeans look I'm even wearing,a scrunchie right now from the shoot it,just feels like the most applicable to,my everyday life super comfortable I,feel like I can kind of wear it anywhere,and I like that we paired it with a red,lip so that was sort of like a nice,contrast my favorite things from the,other looks I really liked the black,embroidered Madonna jacket I felt like I,was stepping right into a music video,while the prom bow and dress did,traumatize me a little bit I loved the,monochrome colors I think I'm gonna try,actually like wearing the same shade of,lipstick with eyeshadow with blush and,full disclosure I did order a pair of,shoulder pads partially as a fashion,statement partially as like an,intimidation tactic for around the,office I think you can look back two,different decades for fashion and beauty,inspiration and find ways to meld it,into your own look anyways I gotta get,back to work so I'm gonna go check if,those shoulder pads arrived,see ya

hello all this is Halloween and if you,love Halloween and costumes as much as I,do you may want to subscribe because I'm,going to be showing you how to make some,awesome costumes without breaking the,bank,maybe even using some items you already,have at home,today is my birthday,anyway not important but today is my,birthday and we're gonna be doing,something fun and light-hearted today,so we will be recreating Madonna's Like,a Virgin look from the 1984,MTV Video Music Awards,it's gonna be super awesome low-key laid,back and it's an easy costume to create,all by your lonesome let's get started,this is our Madonna costume from the,Like a Virgin album,uh she also performed this at the music,awards and all of that it one of it was,one of her most iconic looks,so I have a lace bustier here white lace,bustier,white lace fingerless elbow length,gloves,I bought the boy toy belt buckle and,belt to go with it I have these,pantyhose they are a white fishnet,with the Garter attached now these,aren't great pantyhose but I'm only,going to be wearing them once these are,my number one rule my biggest No-No,they're like 100 they're 100 nylon,you'll see there on the package,so they're not going to be the best,quality,but because they have the Garter I think,the Garter will help them stay up at,least I've got just white pumps and all,kinds of jewelry,she was just wearing all a whole bunch,of jewelry and lots of bracelets,lots of necklaces so I've got that I,have these red star earrings she was,wearing star earrings I think they were,silver I'm gonna just spray paint them,silver,and then I bought this awesome material,it is a polka dot tool material,I got that from Joanne's and hers were,actually Hearts not polka dots but I,think this is close enough and then I,purchased this little it's like a,child's costume but it had enough tool,to work with so I'm gonna just be,cutting the tool off and using it for my,skirt,and that's the whole costume let's get,started,foreign,this is a quick video we actually got,invited to a 80s party and I was like,I'm not going to 80s party unless I'm,Madonna,so that's the whole purpose for this,costume I was like okay well if I'm,going to do Madonna it's gonna be the,Like a Virgin,of her there are so many uh because she,really was the icon before you had Lady,Gaga and Gwen Stefani and people like,that it was Madonna and that was it,so um there's so many different looks,uh back in the day I even did Don't Cry,For Me Argentina uh from Evita,um my Dad loved that I did that,performance in high school I did it for,um we had this thing called Rick's Cafe,and chorus and,I did it for that and I also did it for,our paat which is the Filipino American,Association of Tampa,and I did it for one of their events so,I did that one quite a bit I've always,been a Madonna fan since I was growing,up,she's gone a little off the rails these,days we won't talk about that like I,just don't know what's going on you know,she's always been beautiful I just I,really wish that people wouldn't,mess with themselves so much you know,what I mean,like age is a beautiful thing if you're,fortunate enough to live long enough,just embrace,the age thing you know always eat right,drink a lot of water work out you know,get plenty of fresh air and sunshine you,know and and you'll be fine you know,you'll age fine you'll look fine but so,I don't know what she's been doing but,she's been looking very different lately,um very different and I'm I'm a big 80s,Madonna fan let's just put it that way,and I hope she just stops and just,Embraces it I don't know maybe too late,but uh you know there's nothing wrong,with getting older there's nothing wrong,with looking older you know there are,creams out there now that have come a,long way and if you have a whole bunch,of money like that I'm sure there are,creams that gradually kind of slow the,aging process you could get like uh you,know it's got caviar in it and stuff you,know and it'll you know be plenty but,anyway that's,that's my thing on that it is my,birthday so I'm talking about you know,aging gracefully I'm 41 today and I,still feel like I'm in my 20s probably,because I'm not very mature,you know,like who's in love with Halloween,at 41 like I am it's crazy I don't know,I still am like a little kid when it,comes to that kind of stuff I'm really,young at heart so I'm just putting on a,foundation right now it's the Kat Von D,you can use any foundation you have this,is a normal makeup today so whatever you,have it works,you know anything you have I'll put down,in the description what I end up using,and if you if you want to mimic that you,can,or even with you know store-bought,drugstore stuff I've been using,drugstore stuff my whole life it has,never failed me so there's no shame in,that game I'm gonna be honest with you,I've had the very best birthday I've had,since my mom,left,you know my mom went to heaven and uh,that was really hard but um you know for,the last couple years,I didn't even want to celebrate my,birthday anymore because my mom was,really the one that kind of she was,always big on birthdays we made the,birthdays really special,my dad he made Halloween my thing,my dad was always my right hand man when,it came to Halloween and helping me make,my costumes I have actually two very,creative parents but for my mom it was,always really,she was always really big on birthdays,she'd get me a cake and we'd go to,LongHorn Steakhouse for dinner because,my favorite food is steak sorry for all,of you vegans out there I gotta have,some meat I eat steak more than any,other food,pretty much a steak Italian so it's my,favorite food so it always has been,since I was a kid I was really excited,today because my dad,and wish me happy birthday this morning,and normally that's kind of where it is,you know he's wishing me a happy,birthday that's awesome I love that,but he actually invited me to dinner you,know wanted to take me out to dinner and,I was like,I I was like oh my God it's so awesome,it was really the most awesome thing,that happened to me today I had a hair,appointment at 10 A.M,and I bawled my eyes out,all the way there because um,that was really special,I can't think of anybody,on Earth,I'd rather spend my birthday with than,my dad,he's awesome,and we don't usually spend my birthday,together so I was really happy,about that yeah so I have all my,um foundation on I'm gonna put powder on,it's just some Covergirl I like powder,some people don't this is totally,optional my mom didn't like powder she,said she didn't want to look like Mount,Rushmore so I like looking like Mount,Rushmore I don't want to look all greasy,and shiny and slickery,I kind of like the whole matte finish,thing,but it wasn't for her,so Madonna,had the Brook Shields eyebrows before,Brooke Shields,so we're going to and I have more of an,arch than Madonna I didn't know,I'm gonna have to work that,I'm gonna have to work that some sort,away because and her eyebrows were,really dark also I'm using black here,hopefully it's not too dark but I gotta,do the whole unibrow thing not like all,the way in the middle but you know what,I mean oh,not like that either we don't want curb,feelers we we just want regular natural,Italian eyebrows I do believe that,Madonna is actually Italian,if I'm not mistaken she is Italian so,she's got the eyebrows she's like New,York Italian,so I'm just trying to get a really fine,line so that it actually looks like hair,and her daughter Lourdes actually ended,up getting her,her same exact eyebrows so that's kind,of cool,so I'm just going to draw them to a,certain point and then I'm probably,gonna,I had to step off camera for a minute,my son and his boyfriend are here and,they're never on time and here it is an,hour and a half early I'm like shocked,believe me I am shocked,so that's cool,her eyebrows are kind of more straight,across so I'm just gonna do the little,things here in the big in the top I hope,this ends up looking all right when I,was younger I used to want to be Madonna,Like who what little girl in the 80s,didn't want to be Madonna,like I was definitely one of those girls,and funny story my mom's always been,very fancy she had Lee's pantyhose,and I got into her closet and I made,fingerless gloves,out of her lace pantyhose,I'm I don't remember if she wanted to,kill me or if she thought it was,hilarious but,it was a funny story later either way,my hands do shake so it's really hard,kind of to do stuff like this sometimes,they've always shaken since I was little,I don't really know the reason for it,but,foreign,very fine lines I would recommend for,this uh for this effect using a,Precision pen in a dark color dark brown,or black that way you can really get it,down you know it'll take a little bit of,time but it'll be worth it get your,McDonald's,oh,that's that's it I mean that's the,Madonna Brown before,I started doing this video is practicing,singing like a virgin on my Home karaoke,machine because I'm going to be going,out tonight to Pete's Place which is the,best karaoke show in Tampa if you are,ever visiting Florida Tampa Florida St,Petersburg Clearwater anything like that,best karaoke show in the Tri-County area,is at Pete's Place on Henderson,Boulevard and you're going to want to go,there and it's it's not just the fact,that it's an awesome atmosphere but the,singers are great I've been singing with,the KJ since I was seven years old,and they have the most receptive,audience so you don't feel like you're,singing to yourself if I want to sing to,myself I'll sing in the shower you know,what I mean like when I go out to sing,karaoke I want to sing for an audience,and because I've been singing my whole,life,I may just,draw a little bit of brown in there,but you can,totally see it's kind of just a straight,across brow and it's got the little,in the middle,in the middle like the unibrow but not,I think Madonna is the one that made,you know they always give credit to,Brooke Shields for the bushy eyebrows,but Madonna really had it going on,before Brook Shields so just so you know,a little history for you,I'm gonna do the other one in the exact,same way,first time,I had to do that so let's see if my,eyebrows were working out yeah this is,it,this is the Madonna brow,um she's always had really dark eyebrows,though no matter what what color her,hair is,um I think an Aveda they were actually,lighter but I'm gonna do a little brown,eyeshadow,just right here in the crease,just like a natural almost like a,natural look using um this Ulta palette,that I have I should be quiet because my,son's actually here I stole this from,him he might want it back so,um,so I'm just gonna use a couple of colors,a little bit of a natural color for the,eyelid you can't even see it it's like,my skin tone yes I embraced my age and,I'm happy today you know I've had a,really great birthday,starting out with going to the salon and,getting my hair done Tina McIntosh,okay Tina McIntosh is if you're in Tampa,or in the Tri-County area she's in South,Tampa on West Kennedy and her place is,called hero land and she she did my uh,my highlights today,and even styled my hair so that's why,it's been styled from the get-go that,was a nice happy beginning of my day,and she even played the birthday song by,The Beatles as I was leaving which was,totally awesome,and I had a glass of wine while I was,there,and then on my way home I was a little,hungry because it was almost two o'clock,and or it was almost one o'clock by the,time I headed home,and I stopped by,um que pasa which is,a Mexican restaurant near me,and,there was a I always sit at the same,place me if it's whether it's me or if,it's me and my husband we always sit in,the same spot,so I sat in the same spot,the bartender Eddie was there who we,know because we've been there many times,and Tony Tony's a server there he,bartends sometimes as well so I'm,sitting in our same spot we always sit,at which is right next to where,everybody comes and picks up their to-go,orders and this guy came and picked up,his to-go order,and I had already ordered my,Modelo and he paid for it for me because,I was telling Eddie it's my birthday I,said is and,um Eddie,I was like oh happy birthday and this,guy who doesn't even know me,bought me my beer,so that was super awesome I'm gonna get,a brown color here and then Tony who is,not bartending he was on the floor he,was serving tables,comes and gives me a shot of tequila for,my birthday so,really all day it's been a great,tonight my son's already here he's on,time which never happens,and we're going to go to Longhorn for,dinner with my dad who is so awesome to,extend that offer to me to buy me dinner,for my birthday,so I I can't I can honestly say,it's been wonderful today I'm very happy,and um I couldn't have asked for a,better birthday,so you know just like a real natural,look in fact I think she's even wore,kind of a natural tone on her lips I,don't think she really did the red but,I'm thinking about doing the red just to,make it a little more dramatic you know,the red lipstick back in the 80s it,wasn't really a big thing,they were doing more of the natural lip,tones or pink back then I know I was,there and unless you were Blondie or,something you know I think Blondie was,rocking the red stuff,and for a while there it got kind of,where people,a little bit more natural tone I'm gonna,do a bit of a cat eye too I don't think,that she had that either but this is,um a costume that's versatilla cater it,to you people are gonna know who you are,because of what you're wearing and I,don't have the almond shaped eyes that,Madonna has mine are very round Precious,Moments sort of eyes so I'm going to,kind of shape them with a cat eye,that's our makeup for Miss,Madonna 1980s style,and I think I'm gonna do a pinky blush,for my little palette here the Browns,and the contouring weren't really a,thing either awesome so some people were,in a Cyndi Lauper and the more,um bold I guess you can say entertainers,were,you know into the red lipstick and the,more bold colors but and with Madonna,she got into the red lipstick and all,that later on,it's doing a pinky blush for the 80s,this is perfect it's the perfect,birthday costume,because it's like an Ode to the 80s I'm,an 80s lady I was born in 1981. it's old,just kidding you know the 40s are the,new 30s so,and now I'm going to wear red lipstick,because that's what I choose to do,you can dressed oh shh no it's not I,gotta put mascara on but I do that so,silly that I usually go off camera to do,it but I will do it for you guys,I'm not gonna wear fake eyelashes I,don't think that was a huge thing back,then I thought about it and I have some,but no just mascara today,I used to actually when I was in,elementary school you know they give you,those papers like for Mother's Day and,stuff like or like projects to do like,what do you want to be when you grow up,and I always would put Madonna,I would put Madonna every time,I think I'm actually gonna do a little,black liner on my on my waterline and it,was so funny I was such a 80s,pop music fan even as a little girl in,first second third grade,we had the little computer class and,that was back when you had the real big,computer monitors,and my mom worked for a gynecologist's,office uh Dr Bruce Shepard here in Tampa,and,she had a patient and her patient I,can't remember what was her name I can't,remember what her name was,she was the teacher of mine she taught,the computer class my mom saw her name,you know like on the file she said do,you teach at Dale Mabry Elementary,and she was like yeah,she was like um maybe you know my,daughter and,my mom was like,you may not know her because I know you,have a lot of students and stuff,but her name is Callie,she was like oh yeah I know Callie,mm-hmm,she's the one that keeps putting Paula,Abdul as the username in class,so I never use my my name to for the,user I guess you could use whatever you,want and I put Paul Abdul every time,and the teacher you know I don't know I,was a I was a favorite with the teachers,most of the time because I was just,different I guess,so but anyway it's been a great great,time today I'm gonna go get dressed and,we'll take some photos How Madonna Became A Fashion Icon | 80s Style Analysis

they don't call her the queen of,reinvention for nothing,madonna has been a fashion icon since,she became famous in the mid-1980s,she has set fashion trends and boosted,the careers of established as well as up,and coming designers and throughout the,span of her 40-year career has rocked,every look imaginable from glamorous,material girl,to androgynous s m western,hip-hop disco and everything else in,between,to say she's made an impact on fashion,would be an understatement,her most popular styles are still widely,copied and recognized today,let's get into madonna's style evolution,and most iconic looks from the 80s to,now,madonna first burst onto the scene in,1984 and we were introduced to her style,and her music videos for lucky star in,borderline where she wore her unique,version of punk,in lucky stars she rocks a mesh nick,tank top with her bra peeking through,fingerless lace gloves and an arm full,of rubber bracelets,in borderline we see her in an oversized,leather jacket,with the same signature rubber bracelets,teased hair with an oversized bow that,we saw in lucky star,this time with a boy toy belt that will,later become popularized when she wore,it in her live performance of like a,virgin,more on that in a bit the signature,madonna look spawned a legion of madonna,wannabes who copied her early style,her style became so popular that stores,like macy's Totally 80's Madonna Costume - Thrift Chop

hey guys tor here so this weekend adam,and i are planning on having an 80s,party,and so it's a dress up theme party i,really wanted to pick an actual,person uh initially i was thinking of,doing jareth,from the labyrinth because i love that,movie and i,thought i was going to marry david bowie,when i was younger,so i went to the thrift shop and i went,to check out what they have and they,really didn't have,any like frilly shirts or tight,gray pants or anything that i felt like,i could use for that costume,so what i ended up finding,was this dress and i really feel like,this dress could work,to be madonna i'll i'll,show you what i got i went to valley,village also i'm going to be working on,my bed,because it's cleared off i went to value,village and,first of all i got these shoes then i,found this,and it is easttastic it's,got full-on shoulder pad action,like pleather pleather,some kind of scaly print,plastic goodness the skirt is like,straight up tarp material i don't even,know,and it's got this lovely business going,on underneath,the piece the resistance on this thing,is this nice little detail right here,isn't that beautiful that's how you know,it's from the 80s,actually maybe i'll put it on and model,it and then i can do like a before and,after,how's that for 80s soria i can tell you,right now,it's hot and i don't mean like attract a,pot i mean it's,sticking to me plastic hot everything's,poofing everywhere,so that's what we want so i'm kind of,thinking of maybe,bringing it open a little more and,i think i'm gonna bring the sleeves up,depends how lazy i get how fast,and then oh i forgot my other part okay,and what do we all remember madonna for,other than being a material girl and,blah blah blah,i don't actually know her music that,well we know her for her cone boobs,i got some cones so that i can make them,boobs,you always have to have a feather boa,somewhere somewhere,it's gonna get used so now let's get to,it,so i don't know if this really seems,backwards and not to anybody else but i,actually like to do some of the cutting,while i'm wearing the garment,that should be low enough,i swear i know how to use scissors so i,have the sleeves off of this thing,and uh now i guess i can start,tucking in with the sewing first you get,your needle,when you get your thread then you thread,the needle,so now i guess i'll set myself down and,so,all right so i've got it cut a little,lower,oh my battery's gonna die i might have,to finish this tutorial tomorrow,hey guys so it's super late and i'm,still working on my costume and i had a,genius moment,and i was thinking i was going to have,to,use this black t-shirt to cover,my cones for my cone boobs see i've got,the sleeves all,tucked in and sewn and the front all,tucked in and sewn,and now i'm getting ready to put on the,boobs and i was thinking i was gonna,have to cover them in plain black,but then i looked at the sleeves that i,cut off,and i discovered that i just use the,sleeve,i'm gonna be able to have them match the,dress,so i'll do that and get back to you with,an update,so as you may or may not be able to tell,i hope that you can tell,it's a new day and i'm still working on,my costume,it's friday and i need it by saturday,night all right,so i'm actually just gonna work on um,sewing these cones some more and so once,that's done i'll come back and,talk about the next step,hey guys so i just finished sewing my,combs,and i'm about to put them onto my,dresses cones,oh you're on there wow,just now i've got the cones on and i'm,gonna add some feathers,all right so as you can see i've got,my cones on and,well you'll have to stay tuned for my,next probably next video,and it'll show all the crazy happenings,for the 80s party the other secret video,that i'm also making,and uh everybody else's costumes so,thanks for watching if you liked it give,it a thumbs up give me a comment down,below and,as always please subscribe bye hey guys,so we're in the middle of our 80s party,right now everybody's outside and here's,my costume,wait can you hold the camera i hold the,camera can you hold the camera costume,you want to know who's holding the,camera it's naked,you guys might remember him from when we,did escape from l.a,i'm just wimpier teenage version

DIY LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEAS! AD

I love everyone welcome back to my,channel so for today's video as you can,see by the title I have quite an,exciting one for you guys today so in,today's video I'm gonna show you guys,how to create three a different DIY,last-minute Halloween costume before,this video I've basically been,challenged by aster for their home for,all things Haunted campaign and I'm so,excited to be working with them and,aster has such an amazing selection for,Halloween things they've got the,costumes they've got decorations and,even treats and snacks,so they've basically got everything you,ever need under one roof well I,basically gone into a stir and picked up,a bunch of goodies which I'm really,excited to show you guys how you can,upcycle them and kind of turn them into,your own bespoke costume as well as,those I'm also gonna be using as some,things that you might already own in,your wardrobe which makes it so cool,because you can just transform like an,old dress into a Halloween costume and,you know you can save some dollar,dollars so that's great but anyways,without further rambling let's get on,into the video for the first DIY we're,gonna be revamping a witch's hat which I,got for 50p with this a really cool,black garland this was actually in the,decoration section but it looks so cool,that you could obviously use it as a,part of a costume rather than just a,decoration so once you've measured out,the length around the circumference of,your witch's hat what you wanna do is,cut off the end and then start gluing,this to the base of the Hat when using a,hot glue gun make sure to read and,follow all of the safety instructions,beforehand and children should only use,one under close supervision of an adult,but if you guys don't have a glue gun,you can also use a super glue,once the garland is stuck firmly to the,Hat I'm taking a spray paint that's gold,and I'm just basically going to spray,this over the leaves to give it some,texture and also some dimension I feel,like it was very black and solid so you,couldn't really see much of the leaves,and I thought this will just bring it to,life and add it that extra layer of,detail I'm then gonna take my witch's,hat off to the side and let that dry for,a little bit and I'm gonna take some,plastic black spiders and I'm also going,to you a spray paint those gold,I feel like this just makes them look a,little bit more visible on the hat once,they're dry I'm then taking my hot glue,gun once again and I'm sticking those,little spiders onto the top of the hat,in random places,I feel like this just makes the Hat look,so much more expensive and really,bespoke and the fact that you can take,such an affordable witch's hat which was,only 50 P and turn it into this is,pretty impressive now for my dress I'm,taking an older black dress that I,already had in my wardrobe which I,haven't really worn much and I decided,to return this into my witch's costume,the first thing I'm doing is I'm just,cutting the very bottom of the dress to,make it look really ripped and you know,a bit more scary I'm just cutting in,these long triangles of fabric at the,very bottom I feel like a lot of,store-bought costumes also do this so,we're just gonna replicate that on our,own dress,again I'm doing this step to the sleeves,of the dress as wow it just to make it,look a little bit more ripped and a,little bit more scary this step is of,course optional but I feel like it just,adds a little bit of something to the,dress I'm just taking the gold spray,paint and I'm just spraying that around,at the ripped parts of the dress and,also the neckline just to create a,slight ombre effect and I feel like this,links in really well with the hat that,we previously di wide once your dress is,dry you can pop it on and I'm actually,taking at this a spidery sort of layer,of fabric that's quite sheer and I'm,just wrapping this around the waist of,my dress to create an illusion of more,layers to the dress next up for makeup,I'm using the monstrous makeup set from,Asda and I'm just gonna be taking the,green face paint and just covering my,whole face and neck with this this,makeup set does come with some sponges,that you can use but I'm just going,ahead and using a my trusty or Beauty,Blender once the green is on my face I'm,then taking the white creme face paint,which is actually really really nice and,texture and I'm just applying that under,my eyes and my forehead just to add some,dimension back into my face and then,taking the black lipstick and just,applying that to my lips and also,reaching for a black eyeshadow and just,applying that kind of messily which you,can then and blend out into at the green,to add a smoky effect to it the next,thing I'm doing is I'm just applying,some black eyeshadow into my brows,because we are gonna be wearing a black,wig and I'm just making them look a,little bit thicker as well and lastly,I'm taking the black face paint from the,set and I'm just drawing on two little,spiders on my face I felt like this just,completes the look you can also take,some white face paint and add some,subtle highlights to the spiders to make,them look a little bit more,3-dimensional next up it's wig time so I,got this one from Asda for four pounds,it's really really long and black and it,looks very messy so that's perfect for a,witch so I'm just gonna brush this out,and kind of backcomb it a little bit as,well and then I'm adding my witch's hat,that we di white earlier and this is the,finished look of course if you guys want,to go to town you can also apply the,green face paint to your arms and legs,but I just applied it to my face and,neck area to show you guys the idea,for the next DIY you're gonna need some,orange yarn which is super inexpensive,and the first thing you want to do is,kind of just wrap it around your hand,you want to keep going and you probably,want to wrap it around about 200 times,which seems a bit excessive but you guys,are gonna see in the end why you need to,do that once you feel like you have,enough thickness you can cut off the,excess yarn place it on the table you,then just want to cut off another,roughly 15 centimeters of yarn and just,wrap this around into a tight knot as,you can see once you tie it off it kind,of starts to look a little bit like a,pumpkin right so then you want to take a,green pipe wire and just place that in,the middle and then tighten this up with,the excess yarn into a knot once the,pipe wire is tied in place you wanna,then a bend it upwards and basically,start twisting it around each other this,is supposed to be the stalk of your,pumpkin so you can cut off the excess,yarn if you like and this is the,finished thing it's a little yarn,pumpkin which is so cute and really easy,to make once you've mastered making one,of these you can make a couple more and,start hot gluing them onto a headband to,make a bespoke a pumpkin headband again,if you don't have any hot glue you can,also use some super glue and pretty sure,that will work as well but I just find,that hot glue is the easiest and,quickest way to achieve something like,this and this is it this is the finished,pumpkin headband now let's move on to,the pumpkin sure so the costume is again,super simple and easy to make all you,need is an orange colored top or t-shirt,anything that you might already have in,your wardrobe and then just taking some,black foam and I'm sketching out the,outline of some pumpkin carved eyes and,also a mouth if you're not very good,artist you can obviously use a stencil,off the internet I was just looking at,one of the pumpkin decorations that I,already have in my room and I'm just,drawing out some triangles and just,basically popping them into place once,I've done that I'm then just taking,another piece of black foam and I'm just,drawing out the mouth portion of the,pumpkin and then cutting that out and,popping it into place once again you,guys know I don't really do sewing so,I'm just taking my trusty hot glue gun,once again and I'm just gluing this onto,the top of the t-shirt when you're doing,this and just be careful that the two,layers of fabric the front and the back,of the shirt,glue together because that would be a,disaster and this is the finished jumper,it's so easy to do now we can move on to,a makeup to really complete this,last-minute Halloween look so I'm just,taking the orange cream face paint and,I'm just applying that all over my face,with a Beauty Blender and then taking a,brown eyeshadow and I'm starting to draw,out some vertical lines across my face,if you look at the pumpkin behind me you,can kind of see what I'm trying to,recreate that just kind of like ridges,of the pumpkin I'm then taking a white,face paint and I'm just creating some,highlights in between those lines to,kind of you know add a little bit of,highlight to the pumpkin and then I'm,moving straight on to the black so I'm,just creating the carved out black eyes,and also the nose and mouth again if,you're struggling with this you can,obviously look at an image off the,internet as a reference for the map I'm,just creating a long line down the side,of my cheek and just drawing little,lines attached to that line I really,hope that makes sense and lastly to,complete this look I'm taking my,Halloween earring set from Asda and I'm,taking the little pumpkin earrings and,just popping them in my ears and I feel,like it definitely completes the look,and this is the finished costume I love,how easy it is to recreate this look and,also create the costume so if you have,no idea what to be and you still haven't,got your costume and this will be the,perfect thing to be now for the last,year why we're creating a zombie bride,costume so I'm just taking this old a,baby doll a dress that I have laying,around in my cupboard and again what I'm,doing is I'm just cutting the triangle,kind of frayed effect to the sleeves I,feel like doing this tiny step just,transforms any piece of clothing to make,a look a little bit more Halloween,appropriate and then taking some white,lace and placing this over the seam of,the dress at the top and then just,cutting this into place and then hot,gluing this down onto the dress to make,sure it stays in place I got this lace,from my local craft store so I'm sure,you guys can find something similar to,it once that's glued into place I'm,taking another piece of lace this is in,a slightly different style and I'm just,running this along the neckline of the,dress and then again hot gluing this,into place I feel like adding a slight,lace to it just makes it look a little,bit more creepy a little bit more,Victorian and aged,and then I'm just taking my scissors and,just cutting a bunch of holes into the,dress to make it look a little bit more,distressed and old once I'm done with,distressing the top part of the dress,I'm then heading down to the bottom part,and I'm starting to basically just cut,and distress the very bottom of the,dress I feel like again this will just,make it look a little bit more Halloween,appropriate it makes it look a little,bit more torn and creepy and now to,really finish off the dress I'm taking,some red fake blood spray and this is,perfect for clothes it's totally safe to,use on clothes so I'm just taking that,and spritzing that all over the dress to,make it look really really creepy now to,accessorize this dress I've just got,this little blood choker from Asda which,I think just really completes the look,and then I'm just taking some white,facepaint for the makeup this is a super,simple makeup we just want to make,ourselves look really dead and ghostly,I'm then taking the red lipstick from,the makeup care and just applying that,all over the lip and lastly I'm just,taking some brown eyeshadow on a big,blending brush and just going all around,my eyes to make myself look really tired,and deadly,now to complete the costume I'm just,taking some blood tights from Asda now,you can also add a wig so I'm just going,for this haunted and beauty wig which,looks really creepy it kind of looks,like a spiderweb and I just added that,and I feel like it definitely completes,the whole look,so those were my three Halloween,costumes for last-minute that you guys,can deal the white at home I honestly,love this video so much
